Not as expected. Room was outdated and I asked for updated room. View was of mountains and not city. Misleading advertising
This is a really great hotel! It’s located next to everything you could ever need. Walking distance to everything! I really loved that. You’ll eventually figure out the area and create shortcuts. The staff were all so lovely and always so pleasant. I was on the 20th floor and loved the view so much. This property does not have breakfast available but there are alot of food places in the area. I loved the extra activities that were available for guests throughout the week. Really lovely touch! When going out at night as a female, be cautious of your surroundings. It’s a very safe area but my friend and I did have an experience at the elevator. The lobby of the hotel is not located on the ground floor and after a certain time of the night you need your key card to gain access to the hotel levels. I really love that feature. A guy was at the ground level asking us to let him up because he didn’t have his card and his friend wasn’t answering him. I was a little weary as a female so I didn’t let him up but I did go to the lobby and inform them which I figured was the safer thing to do. Just something for others to think about. Maybe security can be added during those hours? Other than that experience, I did alway feel safe. The complimentary beach items were so helpful. Early check-in, late check-out and upgrading rooms ( I was able to upgrade to a 1 queen and 1 King Deluxe) are some of the perks I took advantage of and I was able to get all of them! That was extremely helpful!
Marge was the best. She cleaned everything so nicely. Beautiful experience!
This hotel is perfectly located in Waikiki. I have mobility issues and for me to walk to Waikiki beach only took 10 mins. My kids can easily do it under 7 mins. The hotel had a great vibe. From the moment you pull up, those attending the valet were very helpful in telling us what floor check in was located. The lobby had a lot of tables- great for when you need to do a little bit of work while on vacation. There was ample parking in the multilevel garage, exiting the garage had to get some used to as the exit ramps were quite narrow. The rooms were sufficient in size, even though the layout of our room caught us by surprise as we opened the door and it immediately looked straight at a bed. Our room was clean. Bathroom was clean. And housekeeping team, did a wonderful job in keeping the room tidy during our stay. The bathroom was spacious. With separate sinks, a standing shower, along with a Toto toilet. Our room was just above the pool, and the first few evenings, we were able to hear the music coming from the pool during pool hours as we went to bed around 8:30pm due to the 6hr time difference. The pool is not a pool meant for adults. It’s more for little kids to splash around in. The hot tub can be used by adults, so does compensate for the kid-friendly pool. Finally, want to leave the longest review for Christian- the gentleman who checked us in. He was fantastic. After the long flight, he made the check in process so seamless and efficient. He was kind to offer up additionally assistance and provided us with great suggestions around the hotel. The following morning, when I was making my way to the pool area, he still remembered my name, which I find really rare these days. Overall, our stay was fantastic, and Christian’s wonderful customer service will make us consider coming back to this hotel the next time we come back to Honolulu.
location
No restaurant / coffee shop in hotel
This hotel was wonderful. Excellent customer service. Location was great. Room was lovely. The hard working staff was exceptional. Erica at the front desk could not have been more accommodating. And Lea ( our room attendant ) took such good care of us. She truly exemplified the beautiful Hawaiian spirit.
This property exceeded our expectations. The room was clean, modern, and very well appointed. We declined housekeeping services so had to request additional washcloths and towels several times. Te ability to communicate and make thouse requests via text (which was very responsive) was great for an introvert like me. The pool is a splash pool only but was clean and well maintained. I'd stay again in a hearbeat and recommend highly.
thank you aintie ellen for preparing our room … me and my 2 brothers loved the pool were having a great stay.
Lovely staff and helpful amenities! You can grab beach towels umbrella and beach chair right from the Valet. Location is awesome you’re close to the beach and also close to many shopping centers. We’ll be back.
Great location, central to Waikiki close to the beach. Beautiful. Rooms was great! Vanessa was amazing for room service. Room was impeccable under her care. Cleanliness was amazing.
Great location and service. Pool was really nice and the hotel is clean and in a good location. You will definitely enjoy the stay at Hyatt Centric
I like the area! Very clean and convenient location. Should’ve been microwave in room and balcony. More options to eat inside overall nice eight out of 10.
No microwaving room not enough restaurants inside And no balcony
Location of hotel and good staff
The parking structure and access to main lobby wasn't to pleasant
Great location, spacious room
So far this trip has been incredible. Lea has not only made our room perfect and restocked everything without me even having to ask, but she is also so friendly and sweet! I loved staying on her floor!
Location was the best! The rooms were nice, clean and spacious. The costs for the 7 nights were reasonable it was the daily resort fees that made it not worth it. For the amount of resort fees, I was expecting to enjoy a daily swim in the pool, but the pool is not for adults it is a kiddie pool. There is a hot tub, but the average temp. was too hot for sitting in a hot tub. I don't understand why they no longer have a restaurant or bar area and still charge so much in resort fees and $50-$65 to park your vehicle. Your best option is to avoid getting rental car and take Uber or Lyft, or the bus. The hotel staff were very nice, professional and always accommodating. I felt safe in this hotel as there was not a lot of suspicious activities or people standing around. In either direction leaving the hotel you were on a main strip to food, bars, stores, shopping and honestly everything. I stayed on the 20th floor, and I didn't hear much noise. Ellen was our room attendant, and she was very helpful and made sure our room was nice and tidy daily. I wouldn't mind staying here again but I would rather try somewhere else before staying here again. They are too nice of a hotel to come short in some of the main amenities. If you're using points for your stay then cool, but to pay out of pocket, I would suggest shopping around and call the hotel ahead of time and ask questions before booking.
部屋がかわいかったです。 シャワーだけではなく湯船もあったことが嬉しかったです。
Lea made our room good as new every day and we have a toddler so that’s extra special and meaningful to us. She gave us extra towels and always greeted us in the morning with a smile. She is so kind! Thank you for making our Hawaiian experience great.
The Hyatt Centric has a great location with easily walkable travel to the beach and shops. It was very accommodating and a wonderful stay. Our house keeper, Lea, was extraordinary. This was our first big family vacation with our 1 year old and she ensured our room had everything we could possibly need on a daily basis to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
It is awesome, the room was very clean and neat every day
Great location, comfortable beds and great AC! The bathroom could’ve used more lights but the bidet was an unexpected plus.
We stay here often. Hotel rooms are very clean & nice. Lance & Ericka at the front desk are amazing.
Close to beach and shopping
Location and staff were outstanding
There really was nothing that I disliked about the hotel.
Have spent the past 2-3 Oahu visits at Embassy Suites, however, booked the Hyatt due to stellar reviews & proximity to Waikiki beach area and beyond thankful I did. The hotel room was modern and immaculate with an incredibly welcoming, informing and amazing staff. Booked a king & queen bed room for my daughter & I and was was pleasantly surprised upon check in to find a dividing curtain between the beds. The tv was large and rotated toward either bed. The toilet warmer was also a nice modern touch. Our room was spotless and while others complained about the “wading” pool, I personally loved as a mother that I was able to relax completely knowing my daughter couldn’t fill submerge in anything other than the hot tub which is larger than hot tubs you’d find at most hotels. Starbucks downstairs, abc store less than a block from ground entrance, plenty of restaurants, markets and eats within about 500 feet of hotel, absolutely would and will undoubtedly return to stay again.
The location and room space. It is if very easy access to many shops and restaurants. Also quite close to the beaches. Staff were also very friendly.
The sofa doesn’t feel clean and extra blankets given are old. Although we booked an Ocean View high floor, the view was blocked by another hotel but we could still see a portion of the ocean.
Our family had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Centric Waikiki, and what truly stood out was the exceptional hospitality from every member of the team. From check-in to departure, everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. The level of warmth and aloha spirit made our stay feel extra special. We were visiting to celebrate our daughter's 10th birthday, and the staff went out of their way to make the occasion memorable. Their kindness, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail helped create a birthday celebration that our daughter will never forget. It was clear that the team genuinely cared about making guests feel special, and we are incredibly grateful for the effort they put into making our celebration so meaningful. The hotel itself is in a fantastic location, but it is the people who truly make Hyatt Centric Waikiki shine. We left with wonderful memories and are already looking forward to our next visit. Mahalo to the entire Hyatt Centric Waikiki team for an unforgettable experience!
What a hidden gem in the city! Great service, great house-keeping by Lea, and the beds are comfortable. The hotel is in a great location, walkable to shopping, great food, & of course, Waikiki beach. We would definitely stay here again. Would love free self parking though…
Hotel was in a good location. Very friendly staff. Our room was clean and a big shout out to Jane (housekeeping) who took care of us during our stay. Jane made us feel like we were visiting her home and her hospitality was very much appreciated. Thanks Jane! If you are looking for a hotel with a pool, beach access at your doorstep, or luxury amenities, this might not be a good fit. If you are looking for a comfortable and convenient hotel then this is a great choice. International market, Starbucks is in the same building, and Royal Hawaiian Mall Waikiki is 2 blocks away. They also let you borrow beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards at valet.
The Hyatt was a great place to stay in Waikiki. The location is right in the middle of the city and conveniently located near many shops and stores. The ABC stores are very close, along with many coffee shops, and food options. The entire hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful, including the valet attendants, lobby, and the housekeeping. Our floor was serviced by Mary-Ann and she was extremely nice, friendly, and attentive to anything that we needed. I don’t think I have ever been to a hotel that has this level of customer service, friendliness, & housekeeping and as detail oriented as Mary-Ann. THANKS MARY-ANN FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK.
Everything about this hotel was superb! Great staff and great rooms. We slept very well. the parking garage is a little tight and I wish they had a dedicated Tesla charger but really those were my only complaints and they weren’t serious.
Loveddd stayed there from Thursday- Monday and everyone EVERYONEEE was soooo nice. Nicest hotel I have ever been to. Mary Ann in the 15th floor was soooo sweet and made the rooms so clean. Would 100% come again.
I came here with friends and family and had a wonderful experience. Great customer service by all the staff but our favorite was our housekeeper on our floor, Mary Ann, from the 15th floor. She was so sweet and greeted us with a smile every time. She would keep our room super clean and organized. She’s the best!!! The hotel was also very clean in general and it was located within a short walk from the beach and there was plenty of food and entertainment near the hotel.
Great views & staff was always welcoming to us guest as well as amazing location very close to quite everything definitely would stay here again !
Parking was definitely on the pricey side $55 so definitely a big number when staying awhile. Also parking structure is very narrow and very easy to hit your car so definitely becareful while driving!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki. For the price, you really can’t beat the location, and it’s a great option for families who want larger rooms. That said, while it worked well for our trip, we personally wouldn’t return next time. Pros: great central location, very spacious rooms for Waikiki with large bathrooms, very clean and modern amenities throughout. Housekeeping was in general very good, our room was made up daily and ready by the time we returned from the beach. A few small issues like not replacing soap, tissues, and only leaving 2 medium sized towels. PS the towels are very small I’m a size 6 and could not wrap around me. The staff was really fantastic though, even throughout some of our complaints throughout our stay. In particular Lence was very helpful, but frankly everyone was very friendly. The beach chairs and umbrellas they provide for free, plus as many towels as you need. Cons: The hotel does not have a mini bar or any on-site restaurant. Personally, I didn’t see this as an issue since there are plenty of dining options right outside the door. However, I don’t agree with the $100 per night incidental hold, especially given that the only realistic chargeable item would be parking, which is $60 per night AND we paid upfront for everything prior to arrival. For two rooms we had $1200 on hold which seemed unnecessary. The pool is not really a pool—in fact, I’m not sure why it’s even there. It’s essentially a splash pad. It feels like they easily could have made at least one section deeper, so its current design doesn’t make much sense. One side is only a few inches deep, and the other is still only about 10 inches. It shouldn’t be advertised as a pool.
This hotel is advertised as a beach hotel. While it is only a couple blocks to get near the beach, you cannot walk through buildings to get to the beach. You then have to walk an additional couple blocks to arrive at beach access next to the Outrigger. That was not what I expected regarding beach access. The hotel also advertises a pool. The hotel does not have a pool. The hotel has a "splash" / "wading" LOUNGE (AKA "one-of-a-kind wading "pool"). You cannot swim. you can just sit in water. Not what I expected regarding a pool. Don't tell me it doesn't say it has a pool because the hotel is covered in placards with directions to get to the "pool". The hotel has no amenities. It advertises "EAT & DRINK" but has nothing on-site. I didn't expect that from the booking information. There are supposed to be beach towels, beach chairs, and boogie boards to borrow but there were none available for us any of the 3 days we went to the beach. One day we went with no towels, one day we got bath towels from the front desk, and one day we got towels from the 'pool' (splash lounge). There were never any available at the parking location where they were supposed to be available. We had to rent boogie boards at the beach. There was a significant lack of spaces to hang wet towels and clothes in the room so we constantly were soaking the bathroom floor. Speaking of the bathroom - the SHOWER WAS AWFUL. There was no water pressure so we came home with sand in all our cracks. At least we were incredibly grateful to be home and not missing the hotel at all when we got here, particularly because we could actually take a cleansing shower. My daughter had to sleep on the sofa bed. Every time she moved a muscle, the bed squeaked loudly. She slept poorly for that reason and also because the mattress / bed was incredibly uncomfortable. Speaking of the sofa bed, when we arrived, the front desk person offered to have someone come and prepare the sofa bed for my daughter to sleep on. A guy came and ensured there were sheets and put the decorative pillows on the bed (EWww) and told us there were extra sheets in the closet. I found that the 'extra sheets' were actually the old fleece comforter and one real pillow. I placed those on the bed for my daughter. I was INCREDIBLY disappointed staying at this hotel and would never come back or recommend it. At least it was pretty, so I am giving it a rating of "2" out of 5.
It’s in a perfect location, everything is a walking distant unless you want to hike. Everyone was so nice and very accommodating. The room itself is pretty big and spacious. Check in and check out was fast and easy.
if you just want to stay at waikiki area this is pretty good. The room is very clean and newly renovated. It's a little bit far from beach though but the location is still very convenient and reasonably priced

The hotel was very clean with welcoming and friendly staff. Lea, our room attendant was extremely friendly, was eager to create conversations, and did a thorough job every day. Highly recommend if you want an affordable option that is close to everything and has friendly atmosphere.
Great location and friendly staff. Lea was very accommodating and always made sure we had what we needed.
The housekeeper Lea Aquino was very kind and worked hard to keep our room clean for the whole week. It made coming back after a long day very stress free.
Always love staying at the Hyatt Centric! Great atmosphere, convenient location and the friendliest staff. Our housekeeper Vanessa was super nice and made sure we got everything we needed in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend 10/10!
Great experience, place is not ugly carpeted instead impermeable floors and clean spacious rooms and bathrooms. I got one of the suites, It is super quiet even for been in the busy area. Pretty well located and easy to get too.
Perfect location. Very generous room size. Very clear with all charges.
The room decor quality could be better
This location is in a great spot and they have beach chairs and umbrellas to use for the close beach. Along with unlimited beach towels for the pool and beach. The rooms are also very nice and the staff was helpful.
Some of the rooms were awkwardly laid out no way to see the tv from bed. and the bed themselves were not super comfortable l also don’t like they charged almost $50 per room per night for amenities on top of the room rate. There was no breakfast or drinks in the hotel at all. The pool doesn’t go past 14 inches deep but it was still nice.
I liked the bathroom and the bed and closet and the dimmable lights.
The worn down leather on the chair.
Staff - everyone from the front desk to bell staff were all very nice and helpful Room size - decent size for Waikiki Cleanliness - pristine! Quiet - despite the location, the room was surprisingly quiet Free activities - kids loved it
Pool - too shallow to swim
とにかくロケーションが良いです。
プールがあると思って行きましたが、膝までしかない幼児用のものでした。 プールなくても海まで歩いて5分程度なので、問題ないです。
Perfect location, nice view, ok gym
Bed was so uncomfortable
I loved the cleanliness and location.
Only thing I didn’t like was the pool, it’s not an actual swimming pool.
Stayed at Hyatt Centric for a wedding and was blown away by everything the hotel had to offer our family. The staff is amazing and did everything to make us feel special. Thank you so much. I know that this stay will be remembered forever by everyone.
This is the best hotel experience I’ve had in a long time. This hotel feels new, is so clean, with brightly lit rooms. The staff is amazing, and they had everything we needed to make our stay great. There is filtered water/ice stations on several floors (and they even give you refillable water bottles). There’s even a fridge in the room and microwave in the lobby to reheat leftovers. Our favorite beach on Oahu is Kailua- in the parking garage is a Hui hourly car rental that is so easy to use, and the concierge filled our car with chairs, umbrella, boogie boards and towels for FREE for our day at the beach. Although there aren’t many dining options in the hotel, you don’t need it. There is a Starbucks off the ground floor lobby, shaved ice just out the door, a great spam musubi place across the street and the Asian Stix food court just across the street. You are centrally located for the best shopping - with the royal hawaiian mall (with vintage island coffee/shave ice) just a 3 minute walk and the international marketplace about a 5-7 min walk. The pool deck is nice for sunbathing and using the hot tub- and the unheated pool- was pretty but not great for swimming- but so great for toddlers to splash around in. We usually stay at the hotel in the Hawaiian village, but I realized that for Honolulu, It isn’t the Waikiki beach experience that I want- it’s the fabulous location and comfortable accommodations that suit our family best. I am so glad we stayed at this hotel.
I had previously stayed at this same location with my daughter and we loved its However this time I was very disappointed with my stay. We had holes in the sheets when we pulled the covers back to go to sleep. Items in the room did not work such as the phone and the bidet, furniture in the room old and worn, and worse of all housekeeping never came to clean both rooms we reserved during the whole time we stayed there. Last it makes no since the hotel has a coffee maker in the room but now water is provided in order to use it.
We visited over busy christmas season any request ( towels etc) was granted within 10minutes . The hotel was decorated in an absolutely charming way . I’m not sure who was in charge but every morning there were new fabulous additions to the xmas decor . This hotel is located 50 steps from virtually all tour pickups . my experience is there are only 4 main pickup points in waikiki and this hotel is perfect if you are taking any early tours as well as shopping, restaurants . sightseeing . The hotel also smells amazing and rooms are current and super appealing . This hotel surpasses the nyc park hyatt which I also love in many aspects . HIGHLY recommend
When I first booked this hotel I was a little nervous that it wasn't on the beach, but this proved to not be an issue at all. It's very easy to walk to the beach (and to tons of restaurants). My room itself was very calming and soothing and the wifi worked well. There was a Keurig in the room, but it was inconveniently high up on the closet shelf. There was a hot water dispenser in the lobby that was very convenient to get water for tea. I noticed the shower temperature was uneven. Overall, I had a great stay and would definitely stay here again.
We booked this hotel for our honeymoon. My wife and I are not particularly interested in ocean views, and we prioritized sightseeing and shopping when choosing our accommodation. For those purposes, this hotel was an excellent choice. There are many shopping malls and restaurants nearby, and most things can be conveniently accessed on foot, which made our stay very comfortable. In addition, thanks to Lea, who was in charge of room cleaning, our room was always spotless. Her warm smile and friendly greetings every day helped us start each morning in a pleasant mood. We highly recommend this hotel to many travelers.
We’d like to say a special thank you to Lea, who took care of our room. Her housekeeping was always thoughtful, warm, and made our stay even more comfortable. We truly appreciated her kindness and attention to detail. Mahalo, Lea!
Spoiler alert! We love staying at Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach! My wife and I have stayed here many times and it is our “Go To” when visiting Honolulu. Yes, it is in the tourist corridor, which might seem like a strange place to stay for someone who was born and raised in Hawaii. The location is about a 10 min walk to the beach and very close to numerous restaurants, bars, and shopping. There is a small gym and small pool, but you’re here for the beach, not the pool. They provide water bottles and a refill station as well as a microwave in the lobby to heat up food, drinks, or whatever. Parking lot is a little tight, but it’s Hawaii, get used to that. Rooms have always been clean and well cared for. Beds are comfortable and seem like a medium firm to me. Bedding feels like quality stuff, not the paper thin and cheap bedding I have experienced at some national chain hotels. AC works great, which is very necessary in the summer. Bathrooms are clean and pretty spacious. We had a tub this time, but the showers in our other rooms were great. The Customer service staff, specifically Linda and Anastasia, was outstanding. Very friendly, understanding, and helpful. They offered alternatives or resources, even when Hyatt Centric was not able to help or did not offer a service. Being the first people you heavily interact with during a stay, these folks really set the tone for the rest of your visit. They did a great job, along with the rest of the staff we encountered. Housekeeping was fast, efficient, and friendly. Even the support staff was friendly and greeted you when passing them throughout the building. I could definitely feel the Aloha! Keep in mind, a lot of what you receive, is what you put out. If you are friendly and polite, you will probably experience what I did. If you are an entitled “Karen” who treat staff like trash, your mileage may vary. We hope to visit Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach again on our next visit to Hawaii!
The check in and check out processes were quick and easy! That was a great surprise, less stress. The room was clean and offered water bottles and coffee! The pool was nice and relaxing, it is more of an adult setting with hot tub, small pool, and an area that was shallow and had chairs in the water to sunbath. Location is great, easy to walk to food and the beach. We got a high floor and it was quiet at night which was much appreciated.
Clean and modern
There was no bar or restaurant in the hotel which I found weird for the price of it
The hotel is in a great walking distance from many things. The hotel is clean and spacious. Rooms come with standard hotel items including a small fridge and coffee maker. Our housekeeper, Lea (at the time of our stay, she took care of floor 14) was especially kind, diligent, and informative. There are nice amenities such as a small fitness room, a large pool area, a lovely lobby workspace, and a communal microwave. The value is a bit on the higher end, but is worth it if you want to be within walking distance from many restaurants, shopping areas, and even the beach. A fair warning, since it is near busy roads, you may hear the occasional honking or emergency vehicles, but overall it is well insulated from the noise.
Overall, a solid stay with great value, but definitely a few drawbacks to keep in mind. First, a piece of jewelry I left in the room in the morning was gone by the evening. It was clearly taken, and the staff couldn’t help and barely seemed to take it seriously, which was really disappointing. Second, the parking garage is extremely tight, and having to drive up to the 6th floor each time was stressful because of how cramped it is. And the “pool” that looks great in photos is very shallow, basically just for sitting or tanning, not swimming. On the positive side, the hotel is clean, modern, and in an excellent location with plenty of places to eat and shop nearby. Most of the staff was friendly, the Toto toilet was a fun surprise (heated seat was amazing), there’s free sunscreen by the pool, and the complimentary beach gear like chairs and an umbrella was super convenient. And even though the garage is annoying, having parking included is still great value for Waikiki!
Great stay. Wonderful and receptive front staff. Flexible, extremely accommodating, and attentive. Quick and speedy service at all hours.
Good property, bad WOH benefits. Lack of any meaningful globalist recognition (breakfast, amenities) kind of spoils this property’s value for frequent Hyatt travelers. Good stay otherwise with friendly front desk.
She did a great job cleaning our room. Every we came back the room was clean and tidy. She was very kind and hospitable. We would definitely return again.
This was our first day at this hotel. The suite was perfect for myself and my three kids. Plenty of room for everyone. The kids especially loved taking care of the fish. The pool is better suited for adults to lounge, but the hot tub was perfect for us after an end of day surf session. There was a hiccup with our TV, but we were moved to a new room and the problem was solved.
It was in the right location for us.

We received a very warm welcome for our honeymoon at the hotel. The location was super convenient and the room really nice and clean. Perfect for a few days in Waikiki.
Location, view, room, room service was so fast, pillows were great, walking distance to everything. Staff was friendly and helpful, very responsive.
The price was high for this hotel and the bed was so uncomfortable. I loved my stay, but I didn't sleep longer than a couple of hours at a time for the entirety. Everytime my partner moved or rolled over I felt like I was going to bounce out of the bed, and my back ached all night long, despite my position and the millions of extra pillows they brought us.
Very clean
Not thing
I had a nice stay at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki, though I’m not sure I would return. First, the positives: The hotel is very clean and modern, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The standout of my stay was the daily housekeeping service — truly exceptional thanks to my floor’s wonderful housekeeper, Lea. Seeing her each day made me feel genuinely cared for, and her attention to detail was impeccable. She absolutely made my stay. As expected for a Hyatt Centric, the property is right in the middle of the action — ideal if you need to be in Waikiki. Check-in is on the 8th floor, and the guest rooms run from the 7th floor up to around the 17th floor. The splash-pad pool is, as many have mentioned, a bit underwhelming, but it’s better than nothing. It’s located next to the lobby on the 7th floor, where it gets very windy — so even if the pool were larger, I’m not sure it would be an enjoyable place to spend much time. Now, the downsides: I would avoid the suites. This is the first time I’ve ever wished I hadn’t booked one. I arrived at 2:30pm and ended up waiting until 4:30pm for my room (check-in is at 3:00pm). When I finally got inside, I discovered that the suites directly overlook the pool, which means very little privacy and a lot of noise — kids yelling, echoes, general activity. It felt uncomfortable. I asked to be moved and waited until 7:30pm for another room, only to be told it still needed another hour to be prepared. That room also would have been directly next to the check-in desk. Ultimately, I gave up on the suite I originally booked and switched to a regular room — which was larger than expected, away from the noise, and ready immediately at 7:30pm. It was frustrating to spend most of my Saturday night in Waikiki waiting on rooms that weren’t actually available. To be fair, the hotel was full due to flight cancellations related to the government shutdown, so they were clearly in a tough spot. Still, it was a long and tiring experience after an early flight. Another drawback: this hotel used to have a restaurant, and you can tell — the empty dining area now feels like a missing piece. There’s plenty of food nearby, but having no on-site option does bring the value down, especially for Hyatt Globalists. Overall: Once I was finally checked in, I had a comfortable stay. The hotel sits among tall buildings, so there aren’t true ocean views, but the rooms themselves are bright, clean, and pleasant. Waikiki caters heavily to Japanese and Korean tourists, so the Japanese bidet-style toilets were a great surprise. I would stay here again if I were visiting Honolulu for business. But for a Hawaiian vacation, I would have been disappointed — the experience feels more like a standard downtown hotel, just without a restaurant and with potential long waits for the room you actually booked. If you stay here, I’d definitely avoid the suites.
Checked in as Globalist got upgraded to a very spacious room. Fresh, bright, big enough open all of our luggage on the floor and very clean hardwood/vinyl flooring. Bathroom is spacious and recently updated. Self parked Garage parking is easy breezy on level 6. Just drive to level 6, take your luggage to lobby level. You can go in and out for $35 a night. Front desk is professional and get things done lighting speed. Water filter system make life very easy. A+ location stone throw to EVERYTHING! There is a small pool and hot tub. Small fitness room. Good enough for city hotel. I would return!
We stayed here for five days and overall the experience was positive. The staff was nice and polite, but the cleaning service was not really good. They didn’t vacuum the carpet, and they didn’t properly make the bed, they just pulled the sheets up, and there were some crumbs left on them. Keep in mind there is no breakfast, no bar, and no real pool. The website said there was a pool, but it’s actually just a shallow decorative tub, only about knee-deep, so you definitely cannot swim or even relax in it. The parking garage is extremely expensive, almost the same price as a night in the hotel. Another thing to know is that the area around the hotel is not safe at all. There are a lot of homeless people and some very unpleasant and dangerous individuals walking around. Just something to consider before you book
Frist a huge thank to the front desk staff for being super friendly when we were coming in at 1am. Additionally the staff was very helpful with recommendations for where I could get a slice of cake (without having to walk too far). The lobby itself has plenty of things one can relax on. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant for breakfast. Also the hotel lobby is not on the ground floor you have to take the elevator up to check it The room itself is cozy, and the view is amazing. The bathroom is very nice especially with the Toto washlet. The shower was adjustable, but the handle was really secure, so I had to ask the front desk for assistance with it. The bed is very comfortable, though I thought my room was a bit warm. My room had a nice view looking towards Waikīkī Beach. The hotel’s location is fantastic, there is so much to do and eat within a mile. The pool is get for soaking your feet after walking all day. The fitness center is as expected for the type of hotel and its location, though it does have a nice view. I would absolutely recommend staying at this hotel.
Hyatt Centric Waikiki is in an excellent location, though not directly on Waikiki beach it is just 2 short blocks from it and right in the middle of shopping, dining, and other amenities. This location does not have any food amenities, instead having an open dining area for guests to bring take out food to. I thought it was a nice concession to have. Rooms were clean and value is good. We had a rental car that we valeted everyday and it was fine, wouldn't give them a perfect score as they were not always present - valet only has 1 person during night shifts, so when that person is helping someone else.. you are just waiting by the valet stand. There is also no signage to indicate so.
It was a good stay here. The staff were very friendly. Our room was super clean and pristine. Thank you to Lea for making our stay much better. She left everything perfect and was so great! The view was good, everything was very walkable too.
Amazing service from all the staff, the stay was very pleasant and comfortable. very near Waikiki beach and near the main walking area. Thank you Lea for making every day our room clean, very much approved 😊
