Good but same thing everyday
The potatoes where real good
Place was very clean, and staff was present. Live music on Saturday night was great.
There was a dog barking all day long in the room next to us. I get it's a pet friendly place, but letting a dog bark and annoy customers is not cool either.
Location
Perfect walking distance to the Leconte Event Center if you’re in town for an event there.
It was really clean
Have to pay for breakfast
Clean and well maintained.
Paying an extra $9.50 per person for continental breakfast which is free at most places.
Nice water slide for the kids, outdoor snacks and bar. The hotel had a beautiful interior and we had a clean room with a cozy balcony we sat on to watch the rain.
The only thing off putting was that you had to pay for breakfast and we didn’t appreciate being asked about a time share twice after declining the first time. Other than that the staff was very nice and we enjoyed our stay overall.
Hotel was very nice, great location, and clean. We reserved the suite, with a river view. It was awesome, huge wrap around balcony, and our suite had 1.5 baths which was great!! The pool was good size, and the slide was awesome! Kids loved it. What we didn’t like: The pool - Didn’t seem to be cleaned (pick out leaves, bugs, etc), and the waterfall (the mushroom) was only on 1 day. The outdoor bar/snack bar was only open 1 day (Sunday) during our stay. Breakfast - For what we paid for 5 days, you should get @ least a free continental breakfast, having to pay an additional $10 is a little ridiculous. All in all - We’d stay again, would just hope they cleaned up the pool area, and address those thing.. That would put this spot over the top!!
Always a good stay. Great location
Little pricey
The rooms and facilities were clean. This is the only plus I can offer.
The 2 nights we spent at the Black Fox was way too expensive! The mattresses on the beds were way too hard. Sleeping was difficult due to the hard mattresses. We would have stayed an extra night but the price I paid and the hard mattresses were a turn off. We won’t be back.
Room had musky odor. The pool water looked dingy. Room over priced for our stay.
Location
I booked a 2 room suite with 4 queen size beds. When I got there only 1 room with 2 quees. I had to get 2 more rooms to accommodate my family..
The restaurant inhouse offered very delicious food offerings at reasonable prices. My children absolutely loved the swimming pool. Our room was very comfortable and the staff was tremendous!!
The windows throughout the facility were very dirty. That is my only complaint.
Friendly staff
Clean and so quiet.
Nothing
I liked the location of the property in town and we were able to walk anywhere. Also my children loved playing in the pool and the balcony facing the river was so relaxing.
Nothing
Bathroom and overall room was nice and clean and well temperature kept.
Beds were uncomfortable, had a terrible experience trying to be refunded for a night which later was declined after staying. Wouldn't stay again
It was clean
The elevators were very slow
Nice, quiet, clean, convenient
Nice pool area for kids
Very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. Great pizzas in the restaurant area.
The physical facility was, at best, only average and not at all what I would expect for a Hilton Tapestry branded property. The average Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Double Tree or Spark hotel (also part of the Hilton brand, but much less expensive) are at least as clean and up to date as this property. The customer service was almost nonexistent at this hotel. It started upon check-in when they failed to even recognize me as a Hilton Honors member. Sure, it's a little thing, but it was just the start of a very dismal Memorial Day weekend stay. Upon going down to the lobby area for breakfast the next morning, I discovered that they did not have anything but a very weak light roast coffee which I found undrinkable. I inquired if they had any dark roast coffee and was told they only "had what they had". I proceeded to order a breakfast of pancakes, bacon and fresh fruit that was served to me with the pancakes so dry and burnt that they were almost impossible to even cut with a knife and the bacon was in a similar state. Needless to say, I complained to the person at the front desk and left feeling less than satisfied that my concerns were taken seriously. The next morning, I again tried their breakfast area and had a similar experience with everything I ordered, except the fresh fruit and the prepackaged pastries, being so over cooked that it was beyond edible. I had to leave the hotel to get something to eat. The sheer lack of concern for the comfort of their guests and the rude dismissal of those that lodged a complaint about the food and beverage service (I know for a fact that they received numerous complaints other from me) have prompted me to write this scathing negative review and to also lodge a complaint with Hilton. This property has no business carrying the Hilton brand as part of their name. I have never received such poor service in over thirty years of being a loyal Hilton customer. Save yourself from suffering the same fate and find another place to stay if visiting the Pigeon Forge area.
PET friendly and view of the river Conveinice
Few rudd people at Breakfast
Very clean friendly
A little pricey
It was comfortable and centrally located
One morning there was a strong odor of pot coming from the room above me then it was on the balcony side the next day
Location was good. We did not eat breakfast, seemed pricey for what was offered. Parking was good. Accessibility was good. Staff was very pleasant. We were there for the car show so did not spend a lot of time at our room.
In past years before my husband's death we always stayed front row at the street so we could watch cars from our balcony. So it was disappointing not having a view but nothing you could change.
It was great, clean, friendly! Loved they allowed pets too.
Breakfast wasn’t included, but location was great!!
Great location and restaurant and bar was fantastic. Front staff was great too. Especially Jesse was amazing. When things seemed like o get bad she made it better
House keeping was awful. Didn’t clean room. Came and put washcloths in room but no towels. Didn’t make beds or take dirty towels.
Clean nice beds and pillows
Staff wasn't very helpful.
Location and presentation
Fan in bathroom didn’t work
I loved the service of the staff. The location was convenient to everything.
I have no dislikes about the hotel.
Very good location. The price was reasonable.
Need bigger garbage cans in the room. The small ones fill up quickly.
Great location and near everything. Clean and very friendly staff! Will definitely be staying again!
Loved everything
Location
No indoor pool, pricey, and continental breakfast was not included in expensive price.
The Staff was super friendly. The environment was luxurious, clean and inviting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We usually get a free breakfast where we stay.
The lights need dimmers in room and bathroom
Location, suite was nice and roomy, very clean.
It was very close to Dollywood and a wonderful cozy place to relax after a day in the park. The room was perfect for our family and quite comfortable. We were able to enjoy a meal by the fireplace in the fox den. Check in and out was seamless. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again!
Nothing
Location was amazing
Lack of handicap parking and the handicap rooms are on the opposite end of the property from the entrance .
Everything was GREAT looking to our next visit
everything was wonderful
Rooms, lobby fireplace, and cleanliness.
For the cost of the room, free breakfast
Front desk employees overly friendly 😀
We were here3 nights no one cleaned our room or brought towels
Hotel is fair decent clean room however, the service at the bar was very poor. Sat there waiting for the bartender To take my order, however she was just too busy chatting with another couple even though she knew I was waiting
I can't say enough great things about Black Fox Lodge! I'm truly grateful for lodging accommodations that are NOT pet friendly. This is like trying to find Atlantis these days but thank you, Black Fox Lodge for clean, pet-free accommodations. The staff was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The building is pretty pristine and smells fresh and clean. It's convenient to all things Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and easy to get in and out of. I would happily stay there again and highly recommend it!
The only thing I can think of for this would be maybe a plastic bag inside the closet for dirty clothes.
Nice property. Stayed there before and was great.
One of the rooms tv did not work and toilet was coming off the floor. They fixed TV promptly. Something very sticky on the phone and still there the next day.
This hotel should be absolutely ashamed of itself. A deeply loved item belonging to my child was left in our room—an item we KNOW was there, because my child played with it in the room that evening. We left early the next morning and went straight home. There is no scenario where this item magically left with us. We contacted the hotel the SAME DAY we checked out, and the response we got was nothing short of infuriating. They claimed they would leave a note for housekeeping and we would be contacted. WE had to call for an update and was told the item “wasn’t there.” They insisted that no new guests had stayed in the room, and that “only housekeeping” had entered. So what exactly are they implying happened to it? Because it certainly didn’t vanish on its own. The level of dishonesty is unreal. Instead of helping, the staff acted like we were bothering them, and took absolutely no responsibility for an item that was clearly left in THEIR care. It felt as though no one wanted to address the issue immediately and it was handed off to another person (by note). Either housekeeping failed to report it, or someone decided it wasn’t worth turning in—both scenarios are unacceptable and reflect terribly on this hotel’s integrity. This was not some insignificant trinket. It was a cherished item that meant everything to my child, and thanks to this hotel’s negligence—or worse—it is now gone forever. Their complete lack of compassion, effort, or basic human decency is disgusting. I will never give this hotel another dime, and I strongly recommend others stay FAR away. If this is how they handle something as simple and important as a lost item, imagine what else gets ignored, mishandled, or conveniently “lost” behind the scenes. This place cannot be trusted.
I stayed here while attending the Stitching in the Smokies retreat which was held at the Lodge. Check in was easy with information given about elevator, locations of the stitching room, bar/breakfast, and coffee at that time. The room was clean and comfortable, and I was pleased to see a step-in shower versus tub. Every employee offered a smile and spoke in passing. The conference room where the retreat was held was nice and well lit. The two lunch buffets that were included were very good, especially the macaroni and cheese and the pulled pork.
Despite not getting the week we wanted to travel w the certificate, we had a wonderful vacation. Black Fox Lodge was very accommodating considering what our expectations were when we received the certificate. The resort was beautiful. We also expected free breakfast every am but there was a charge. Was expecting a condo but were happy w the two bedroom instead of hotel room w two queens and sofa sleeper. I would definitely stay there again knowing all the terms in advance. Beds were a little hard and would prefer walk in shower. Tubs are outdated. Large master bathroom which was wonderful.
PROS: Clean, friendly staff, quiet, and location (in Pigeon Forge). CONS: Overpriced, not a lodge, no real views of mountains (Pigeon Forge is a relatively flat area). OVERALL: This is a slightly upgraded Hampton Inn except that you have to pay for buffet breakfast. However, given Pigeon Forge, it's probably one of the nicer places in town.
We stayed at the Black Fox for a family "destination wedding." The wedding itself was not held at the hotel, but it was the hotel that the wedding party set up for guests. The Black Fox is a comfortable place, nicely decorated and well maintained. Our ground floor room had a patio that looked out on the little river that runs through the town. The hotel has a restaurant and bar that look nice, although we did not dine or drink there. The fitness room is decent. It's a pleasant place to stay. The main drawback for us, which we admit is related to our travel preferences, is that Pigeon Forge is essentially a car-dependent schlocky theme park. It's full of chain restaurants and entertainment venues similar to what one might find at a state fair. I'm sure it appeals to many people, but not us. The Black Fox is not located in a particularly walkable neighborhood. There is an entrance to a nice walking path a few blocks away, but it takes a while to get to anything like an authentic neighborhood and park along the path. The drawbacks of Pigeon Forge are not the fault of the hotel. If you focus only on what's inside the hotel, it's a very nice place to stay.
Rooms and sheets very clean. Staff very helpful. Location close to where all the action is at. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Overall a 4/5 due to noise at night
It was within walking distance to everything we needed.
Was really nice. Had to request our room to be vacuumed but overall very nice. They jumped on it fast and we really enjoyed the stay
The. Pool. The. Bed.
Clean, staff very friendly and a very convenient location.
Very nice
Great hotel! Clean, safe, well-appointed room.
Really love the homey, cozy, feel of the lobby. Very clean. The check in staff didnt appear to be very experienced.
Clean; good breakfast
Price
It’s was great
The lobby and patio are very nice, with a fireplace and fire pit outside. Breakfast was good as well.
The restaurant was real good
Nothing
It was very clean, Good Curb appeal, staff was helpful and kind. Nice facilities. Quiet. Would definitely stay here again.
Excellent staff and location.
Free coffee in the room, but $3.00 for water? Really. a $400.00 plus room, and as a thank you, we get 3x times plus the cost for water. Better to not put the water in the room, use tap, or free bottled water. Don't be petty. You look cheap while trying to look expensive.
We had a pleasant day. Had a nice room with a balcony that looked out onto the creek. The view beyond the water was the side of another hotel and roadways. The food was OK. The cocktails were a bit of a miss, but the service was great. They offer pumped products in the bathroom, but the pumps either didn’t work or there was no product in the pumps so bring your own toiletries Into the shower
Very nice hotel and enjoyed our stay.
This place was absolutely disgusting. The room was full of ants/spiders on the bed and bathroom. it was also musty inside the room. I talked to the front desk and they said sorry we can’t do anything for you. Because you booked through a third-party. Expedia. I contacted Expedia, which contacted them and they refuse to do refund,I have the videos to prove it which I showed to them. and they noted it and apologized. What is an apology gonna do. the least they can do is refund its almost $200 dollars. For a room that we can’t even sleep in. I would not recommend this place to anyone. save your money and go somewhere else.
The hotel is centrally located. Check in was super easy and the staff were friendly. The property is beautiful and nicely appointed. We had two rooms during our stay, both had balcony's. The rooms were identical. The beds were super comfortable. So the downside. We were given room 602. When we walked in the room looked great but it had a smell of something. Not sure if it was mildew or what but my kids picked up on it immediately.. My youngest has pretty significant allergies and was pretty congested when we checked out today. The frustrating part was that someone named Jesse text me on day 2 of 4 and asked how our stay was.. I told her about the smell and she said someone would be in touch but no one ever reached out. When we checked into the next room we definitely noticed there was no smell like in our room. Not sure if I would stay here again. If I do I will check the room before we agree to stay in the room.
Kid friendly
Nothing
It was a great choice for our stay. It was near all restaurants and onsite facilities were excellent.
Very nice hotel, clean, easy to access. Walkable trail to the island.
The lobby is beautiful. Beds are terrible. Staff is friendly.
Room service was mediocre.
Daily housekeeping was terrible. Basically straightened bedding and restocked towels. A few days the trash wasn’t changed.
Family of 5- spent a lot of time looking for a hotel that would fit us and have a nice ambiance. We enjoyed the Black Fox it was off the Main Street and we enjoyed the river view room. The daily breakfast which we added had something for everyone and was well worth eliminating choosing one meal for the day- iykyk. The staff was very friendly.
Room door left open after the room was served. Manager on duty would not return my phone call. Was charged for service I didn’t even use. Absolutely horrible experience especially when you’re on vacation.
We had a fantastic time
Nice hotel we enjoyed our stay all the staff was friendly!
I like the overall location in relationship to most of the attractions around Pigeon Forge.
