Hotel Sultan Hill

Nice location, simple but functional and good staff

Very comfortable Hotel. Clean white sheets, nice pillows. Dark wood, retro vibe. Excellent staff. Helpful with everything. Delicious breakfast. Near everything. Easy walk to Tram. Right next to the Blue Mosque.

Every thing nice staf very helpful

Very nice people

Just a quick walk to Blue Mosque and surrounding attractions. Definitely enjoyed my time while in Istanbul. Walkable area. Everything at your doorstep

I booked and paid in advance for 6 nights at Hotel Sultan Hill. On arrival they couldn't find my booking. Eventually they gave me a room. It was a super hot day and after a long journey I wanted a shower. There was no water. Even the toilet wouldn't flush. This was not the fault of the hotel, I was advised plumbing works were in progress in the street. Ok. However the staff really didn't care and offered no solution. One night I was out late with friends, the receptionist called my personal mobile phone to ask where I was!? In the afternoon of day 3, after my room had not been cleaned once yet I requested new towels. Another morning the owner proceeded to scold me for going out late and coming back early. I am a 50 year old woman! His reasoning, after I suggested he was not my father was they were waiting for me to return to clean my room. What?! You wait for the guest to be insitu to clean? They did not then clean my room. On the morning of check out I was getting myself ready. Thankfully I was already dressed. I hear my door unlock. I go to greet whom I expect to be housekeeping, marvelling that they come on my last morning. No, it was another guest. She stared at me, bewildered that I was in "her" room. Turns out she confused which floor she was on and went to her door on autopilot. No problem except that HER ROOM KEY OPENED MY DOOR!!! We proceeded to have surprise and concern. Both our keys opened all doors. Do not stay here. You and your property are not safe!

Great area

Everything perfect. Great staff, super helpful and fun. Better to book direct!

I stayed here only for one night for an overnight transfer, not expecting much other than the hotel near the Blue Mosque, which I failed to visit the last time. It turned out to be that the stay here was the best memory I had in Istanbul - memorable with the help of wonderful Ali the Concierge. I will come back this year, Ali, no matter what! You opened up my mind and rekindled my passion for travel. But of course, I won't forget leaving the key with you next time I come back. Please excuse me for that...

Great location in the old part of the city, very walkable to a lot of attractions. Ali and staff were fabulous!

My stay at hotel sultan hill was absolutely amazing. Great staff- especially Ali! I felt safe always, the room was clean and tidy, breakfast was great, and the hotel services were made easy through the team. I would pay any price just to stay here again. Ali if you ever read this, a BIG BIG THANK YOU for an awesome experience. I look forward to staying at this hotel again, and very much look forward to seeing you again. Thanks, M.K.O.

Fabulous location. Unbelievable view of Blue Mosque from rooftop terrace. It is not a five-star hotel, so obviously not modernised and glamorous. Breakfast was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooftop terrace is such an incredible space, but a bit dirty and unkept. It would be easily upgraded with a few potplants and umbrellas :) The breakfast area was lovely with a little outside garden.

The building was old, but it is ok. It is very close to the attractions and very convenience.

A well located property right in the tourist area, around the corner from all the main attractions. Very easy walk to tram transport for access to other parts of the city. Room was adequate but small. Facilities were dated, but in saying this… we weren’t in our room often. Bed was too hard for me. Management were great, so helpful… especially Ali who speaks perfect English…thanks for a lovely couple of days

Loved the place. Solo traveler and this was the perfect spot.

A quaint lodging in the heart of the old town. It is an old building but very well maintained. Right behind the Blue Mosque. Sofia, the museum, and the T1 stop are very close, so it's convenient. The main square with the obelisk is always guarded by the police so it is safe and very quiet at night. From the roof of this hotel you can see the sea and the roof of the Blue Mosque. The staff are also very friendly. The only downside is that the shower head in the bathroom is fixed, so it's inconvenient to have to wash your hair always.

It is in a great location. The rooms are clean, and the staff is very friendly.

The hotel is located by lots to see and do. The staff gave recommendations for restaurants and places to avoid that are traps for tourists. It was a wonderful local place to stay!

This was a perfect location for sightseeing and access to transportation. The staff, especially Ally, went above and beyond in every way. The breakfast was great and we felt like both guests and family.

I stayed for one week at the Sultan Hill Hotel, we were a family of 6 people. I have to say it was one of best hotels I’ve stayed in thus far. The hotel staff were absolutely amazing, friendly and hospitable, especially the owner Ali. The facilities were above expectation, including very good wifi and good cleaning service. Our rooms were cleaned to a very high standard every day and very good air conditioning. We had a tasty complementary breakfast everyday. The best feature is the location of the hotel, it is a 5 minute walk to Hagia Sophia and 10 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque, nearby to the grand bazar. You will be situated at the heart of Istanbul - this is a unbelievable deal for the price !!! Will definitely be visiting again.

Great location. Very friendly staff. Great rooftop terrace. The refrigerator in my room did not work but they provided ice for me.

Great location! It is right around the corner from the Blue Mosque. It has a terrace on the roof with great views.

Great location, good price, excellent hosts that will help you plan any of your travels, and serve a very nice breakfast! Highly reccomend!!

Amazing location near the market and Ayasophia. The staff was very friendly, and the room was a bit small but overall it was a good stay.

Overall a great choice and a great value. The location can't be beat and the owner treats his guests with care and attention. We felt highly welcome and taken care of here. A friendly and helpful night clerk named Atas is a great asset to the team here. The hotel cat is breathtakingly gorgeous and she knows it.

This hotel has a good location. Staff is very frendly and hospitality.

Manager is so perfect helpful and friendlz. I never met such a person im hundreds if hotels I have been. Congratulations

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel, we are very happy with all the services it had provided, all the staff and management are friendly and helpful. In the future we would return to this hotel. Breakfast was nice would be nice to have some pastries/croissants too, other than that excellent service and wonderful people.

Beautiful and comfortable place in a great location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. We enjoyed our stay there

It was a great hotel, very friendly staff, good location

The staff are all very polite, helpful and friendly. Nothing was a problem. Very clean hotel, theres no lift, (5 floors) so if you have a problem with stairs then ask for a room on a lower floor. floors didnt particularly bother me however. Price for hotel was very good, very reasonable. Breakfast was tasty and they will make a nce omelette if you wish for a small fee I would definitely stay there again if I visit Istanbul.

Very friendly and great location and very clean and comfortable

Very cozy room, clean and good service, very close to Blue mosque.

Our stay at the Hotel Sultan Hill was fantastic! Location couldn't have been better. Cleanliness, ease of checkin, breakfast, arranging for PCR test, everything was great. The Manager was so helpful and kind. Will definitely stay again and highly recommend it to anyone coming to Istanbul.

I liked the location, close to everything I needed for my stay. Front desk staff spoke English which was so helpful since many people in this city don’t speak English and It was difficult to communicate through out my stay. Staff are very friendly and social. They always great and kind. Breakfast was always good and generous. Building is old and can use updates. There are no elevators and bringing heavy suitcases up the tiny staircase were extremely challenging. There is small fridge in the room but it doesn’t keep anything cold. The wood floors are very rough and need a touch up. The internet was slow and we didn’t have much connection through our stay which was disappointing. Rooms are cleaned well and staff are very nice and hosted us great.

You can't get any closer to the Blue Mosque than this. A short walk puts you right in the Hippodrome. Plenty of food options and shops around. The hosts (and their cats) were wonderful. The rooms are smaller (typical European B&B) but we didn't spend much time in them. Keys get left at the front desk when you leave for the day so be aware of that. No issues with people entering while we were away. Pro tip: Don't let the carpet dealer next door suck you into a conversation.

Great location. Simple, straightforward, helpful, and friendly staff.

I enjoyed my stay. Thank you so much for the great service

Great helpful friendly staff in a cosy convenient central location.Good breakfast and clean room.

A little gem of a hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff and a fantastic location - only 10 minute walk from Sultanahmet tram stop, Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Topkapi Palace, etc.

We ‘d like to say” Thank Your All “ to the H S Hill’ staff, especially Ali & Elnur. Mr.Elnur did help us alot. Location is very good, safety. We wiil come back Istanbul some day & stay at Hotel Sultan Hill again.

I had a two night stay inn Hotel Sultan Hill in October and absolutely loved it. The location is 10/10, it really is just a five minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and the Palace. I've been to Istanbul a few times and the Old Town is my favourite location and this little gem of a hotel is lovely, really clean, lovely breakfast, staff were really nice and very helpful. I am hoping to go back in January and will be staying back here.

Lovely old but well looked after hotel. Nice staff. Good breakfast

everything very good..nicestaff. good breakfast. excellent location.very clean highly recommend it

It was the perfect location to historical sites and transportation. Many restaurants and shopping close by. All personnel very friendly and polite.

The hotel is well managed and the staff are excellent. It is very nice.

The front desk Friendliness and information was very helpful for our stay in Istanbul

Great location. Would recommend and stay here again.

Great hotel - loved it! Close to everything and staff was very attentive. Room was large enough and bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was good with a nice shower.

The hotel was fantastic. Perfect location and and amazing view from the terrace. Everyone was nice and accommodating.

The location is fantastic; right in the heart of the many tourist highlights of Sultanahmet. The hotel is a quaint boutique hotel, with great service and a very nice breakfast. WiFi was stable and fast. Air Conditioning worked well, but shut off while out of the room, so it took about 15-20 minutes to re-cool the room each time I returned from an outing; not a big deal, but a little annoying.

Small but very pleasant hotel steps away from Sultanahmet square. Rooms are small but very clean. Stuff in hotel extremely friendly. Breakfront is OK. Hotel has a beautiful rooftop terrace with nice view of sea on one side and Blue Mosque on the other.

The hotel is very well placed at the end of the Hippodrome with many important sights close at hand and an easy walk from the new Istanbul Airport bus (TL18). The staff are friendly and helpful, the hotel is well kept and the rooms are nicely furnished. There was a fridge and hairdryer in the room but no tea /coffee making facilities. The stairs are sometimes dark as the light is self activated. The breakfast is good.

Ideally located, just two minutes from Blue Mosque.Havaist bus from airport drops you outside the mosque.

Insanely located beside everything in Old a Town. Literally steps away from Mosque, Hippodrome etc. Rooftop terrace is amazing and open 24 hours (imagine sunset overlooking the Bosporus and the Blue Mosque) Breakfast is extremely basic - but there are plenty of restaurants all around uoubif you want to go out for something instead.

Brilliant location and excellent value.

Super cosy relaxed intimate place. Ok breakfast - super terrace and location. Lovely staff.

This gem of a traditional style hotel is in an excellent location minutes to the Blue Mosque. Though not large, we had a lovely clean room on the 3rd floor with a view of the Blue Mosque, fridge, air con, clean bathroom, good shower with constant hot water. Staff were very friendly and helpful, gave excellent sightseeing tips and were happy to book tours at advantageous prices. A delicious and varied buffet style breakfast is served from 8am to 11am in the clean, spacious dedicated breakfast room with outside seating available. Don’t hesitate, book it!

Location is very good Automatic lights in hallway could stay on longer Lock on safe didn’t work

Terrace was nice Clean rooms Friendly staff Clean bathrooms Good facilities - fridge, hair dryer, Comfortable beds/pillows Liked the concept of the family rooms having a connecting door Great location Excellent WiFi Problems: when putting requests, for example extra pillows or towels - needed to tell staff a few times As they would forget Rooms are quite small Breakfast was average - quite basic, and you have to pay extra for an omelette which was a surprise

Great location excellent staff and enjoy very healthy Turkish breakfast.

Loved the breakfast—-so many options, all fresh and delicious—-and the breakfast staff were so friendly and helpful. The location is ideal, and I loved hearing the call to prayer, even the earliest one. One semi-negative is that sound carried between rooms; not the hotel’s fault—-rather a structural issue—-but disturbing at times.

Amazing hotel for the price. The hotel was located near to Sultanahmet (blue) mosque and Sofia Hagia. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The staff were friendly, helpful and gave great advise on our trip. The hotel is only 7 minutes from the T1 tram which will take you to the Grand Bazar and the Spice Bazar We plan to stay there again the next time we are there.

Hotel Sultan Hill is in an excellent location next to the Blue Mosque and the Arasta Bazaar (bring earplugs as the morning prayer begins before sunrise). Ali, the owner, was friendly and readily made suggestions for what to see and how to save money on activities. Breakfast has a nice selection of items. There is no elevator, so if mobility is an issue, make sure your room is not on an upper floor.

Reception staff very friendly and professional. Location excellent, close to all major sights, a small bazaar and great restaurants. Just cannot recommend it highly enough.

Never book again such a nasty kind hotel.please don't book this hotel.it not deserve to stay.

it is a perfect location, very near to blue mosque, hagia sophia, hippodrome and topkapi palace. Mr. Ali is very helpful he guide us in our whole trip on how to get to places we want to go. We were little sad that we did not got the chance to say good bye to him. :(

Great service. Amazing people

Love this hotel ,close walking distance to everything ,manager and staffs are nice and helpful

Well i dont no were to start..ok first all i would like to thank Ali for all the help and advice he gave us. He is an absolute asset to the hotel. He helped us in all the tourist aspects of our visit. We would like to thank Asif aswell who was very polite and helpfull. The hotel was just a stone throw away from the Blue mosque and very near to all the other places to visit. The hotel is a nice boutique hotel with alot of nice resturants around and near the tram station. We highly recomend it to all visitors. Once again thank you to Sultan Hill hotel for all the comfort and respect and love they gave us. Hope to come there again.

Small, personal hotel in great location for all tourist areas and transport links. Staff were friendly and helpful. Front desk staff all speak English.

Returned here after tour. Nice change. Tour hotels were adequate but not nearly as well maintained. Everything works at the Sultan Hill- showers are hot, toilet seats are not lacking hinges, windows open and close, air conditioning works, breakfast is fresh and simple, and .... Ali is 'cheerful' plus. Highly recommended.

Great location. Forum is just around the corner as is the Blue Mosque. Restaurants and atms close by. Friendly helpful staff. Spoke English. Great breakfast included. We are stopping in Istanbul on our return and will stay there again.

Lovely warm welcome (even at midnight!) from very helpful hotel staff. The location is excellent (an easy walk from the main sights in Sultanahmet, very near a tram stop, and also near good restaurants). The hotel rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were plentiful. All in all, a delightful stay.

The staff was very kind and friendly, especially Ali who answered questions, gave us helpful information and remembered our name when he spoke to us. The location was good too. However, we had some issues here. Upon arrival, there was a very strong odor in our room which we believe was coming from the bathroom pipes. We opened the windows a little, turned on the exhaust fan in the bathroom and told Ali. He said he could move us the following day if it did not improve. When returning later that day, we noticed the same odor elsewhere in the hotel. This lead us to believe that it may be an issue with the old historic building. The odor in our room had not gone away entirely, but matters had improved. We felt that relocating may not change matters and elected to stay in the room. The staff accommodated us by allowing us to leave the exhaust fan running while we were out. In addition, housekeeping made an extra effort cleaning our bathroom, but we do not feel this was a cleanliness issue. However, we feel that housekeeping overstepped their boundaries by moving our personal items. None of our belongings hindered their work, but we returned to find that many of our things were stored away inside cabinets and drawers. Lastly, when we returned the last day, we found our windows wide open. There were no screens on the window and it had also rained a little. In addition, the AC was running which we did not turn on.

The hotel is in an amazing location - convenient to everything you’d want to do in Istanbul. The hotel staff is friendly and incredibly helpful. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Room is very small but cozy. Very friendly front desk staffs. They gave us very helpful information for walking directions and tours. Huge rooftop with view of Blue Mosque. Excellent location and short walking distance to Sultanahmet square, blue mosque, Hagia Sophia mosque, and topkapi palace.

Great location. Stairs with no elevator might be daunting for some. Breakfast from 8-10 which not so convenient for early travelers.

Convenient location and attentive staff made our stay memorable. Buffet breakfast was generous and room was comfortable. Easy walk to major tourist sites and tram so everything was accessible.

Great little place, delicious breakfast and awesome location right by the blue mosque. Room was not huge, to be expected at this price point. Clean. Staff was friendly.

Lovely boutique hotel. Rooms small but clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good wifi. Very convenient to all sights in Sultanahmet. Have no hesitation in recommending them and would definitely go back.

We had a great stay at the Hotel Sultan Hill. Our request for early check-in was granted and our luggage was also kept without any issues after check-out. The staff (particularly Mr. Ali) was very friendly and helpful. He shared information regarding public transport, metro and tram lines, shopping areas, tourist attractions and offered many suggestions useful for tourists.

Stayed with our sons and their families in 3 rooms for a few nights. Rooms are not large but they are clean and comfortable. The location is good, right behind the Blue Mosque, and the breakfast is nice. All of the staff was terrific and very helpful, very accommodating with our little granddaughter. And the roof terrace has a spectacular view. We are in Istanbul often and will stay again.

Overall a good 3 night stay. Clean rooms, friendly staff and convenient location (10 minuet walk to major sites and city tram) on a narrow residential street. Good breakfast. Our room was small and clean - typical of many budget European hotels. No lift and narrow stair case combined with our room on level 4 was a inconvenience. Would recommend this hotel especially for budget minded travelers.

Good location, near famous landmarks and mosques, lots of shops and restaurants nearby. They also had a resident feline which added charm to the place.

Very good location, near to tourist attractions, friendly staff, good breakfast. Room was very small, but bed was comfy.

I took a bottled juice from reception, they had a few, after drinking two sips from it, I was in pain for two days. I found that the juice was expired, when I complained to them they refused to throw the expired juices, they did remove those but after many reminders. They will play with life just for a dollar or two

I relied on guests reviews and I am glad I did. It's a small hotel but the staff is friendly and helpful. They serve breakfast till 11 and you get to try the authentic Turkish breakfast. It's close to Major atttactions...what more can you ask.

my room was n

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The location is superb, and close to everything you’d want to see in Istanbul (considering it’s within walking distance to a Tram station) and it’s also very clean. The staff members are really friendly and the shower has got to be the best I’ve ever seen in any hotel! The only downside I could think of is the rather limited breakfast menu, but, otherwise, it’s a fantastic hotel. We are definitely going to stay there again.

Thank you to all the staff for a lovely stay. A wonderful time was had in Istanbul during Ramadan

Great location - right behind the blue mosque. Staff was very friendly and helpful

excellent staff and hotel, quaint and very local to the main square, right next to the blue mosque, the staff were always friendly, helpful and had many great suggestions, including tours that were cheaper and better than ones seen on the net

Good location nice comfty hotel

Spent 5 nights. Overall good experience. Staff were always welcoming and courteous. Very conveniently located and is next to the Blue Mosque. Excellent breakfast, probably one of the best we have ever experienced in a hotel. Rooms were very small but good enough for 2 people. Stairs were very narrow, dark and to some extent a safety risk, so be very careful especially coming down. No elevator. Rooms in general in Sultanahmet are going to be very small. So this is not a bad choice and is situated a bit away from the noise and hustle bustle, yet very close to all the attractions. Would consider staying here again due to price and location.

Nice hotel. Small family style feeling. Very close to blue mosque and tourist attractions.

The stay was great and the area is near many historical places. Many good restaurants are located near the hotel as well and everyone was helpful so It’s a great choice for sure

Conveniently located right next to hippodrome and very friendly staff. Make sure you say hi to their adorable cat named Tripode!

Great stay

Everything you need for a short stay in Istanbul . Close to everything friendly staff.
