Location and view for breakfast was fabulous! Comfortable beds, treats left in room, super clean.

Wish there was a kettle and some tea bags, instant coffee and a small milk in the fridge so we could make a cuppa before bed (Aussies!) Only complaint! The rest was fabulous!

Miejsce szczególne nie tylko pod kątem lokalizacji ale historii obiektu, o którym dowiedzieliśmy się od właścicielki. Właścicielka jak i personel na najwyższym poziomie. Dbałość o detale w pokojach, smaczne śniadania z widokiem na kanał. Dziękujemy za miłą atmosferę i porady odnośnie zwiedzania Wenecji. Na pewno nie był to nasz ostatni pobyt w tym obiekcie.

Unser besonderer Dank gilt Alessandra und ihrem ausgesprochen netten Team. Alessandra rief uns sogar an, dass unser Zimmer bereits früher fertig war. Das ist uns bisher noch nie passiert. Insgesamt wurden wir äußerst zuvorkommend behandelt, wir durften aus einem äußerst reichhaltigen Frühstück wählen. Die Zimmer versprühten venezianischen (Luxus-)Flair - wir werden unseren nächsten Venedig- Urlaub bestimmt wieder hier verbringen! Michaela und Edgar

Na tomto ubytovani se mi libilo uplne vsechno. Vse odpovidalo popisu i fotografiim na Bookingu. Pokojik cisty, vkusne zarizeny benatskym stylem, jako na zamku😀kazdy den uklid, snidane dle vlastnich preferenci (italska ci anglicka), ochotny personal, skvela lokalita, kousek vsude! Po prijezdu jsme dostaly s dcerou na uvitanou kavu, mapu a seznam osvedcenych restauraci. Alessandra je moc mila a fakt profik! Posledni den nam chvilku pred odjezdem pomohla vyresit problem s jizdenkou na vlak. My s dcerou mely pokoj s koupelnou mimo pokoj, coz byly asi 2 kroky a k dispozici byly zupany. Pripadala jsem si vitana a jako doma. Zdravim take Madu a slecnu od snidane. Dekujeme.

Also tucked away inside those small beautiful passages so you have peace and quiet in midst of city centre Alessandra is perfect for insider trips You must try their home made croissants They are so tasty All staffs are nice and courteous Ifs a small hotel or family owned apartment turned into stay . You will get a feeling of staying at a nice Venetian home

it was announced, in advance that our (blue)room had a bathroom that was not connected to the room, so we were prepared, but the hotel is small (not too many guests) so we could move without our privacy got hurt

I loved that place, and she was so nice. We had an early flight, but she made sandwiches for us to take with us. Everything was very clean, and I could find everything I needed there. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this place.

L’établissement est facile d’accès et idéalement situé, à proximité des principaux lieux à visiter à Venise. Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié l’accueil chaleureux ainsi que la visite personnalisée de la ville proposée par Alessandra, en français. Cette découverte, loin des circuits les plus touristiques, nous a permis de découvrir Venise autrement, de manière plus authentique.

Beautifully designed and decorated rooms. Breakfast was quite good with fresh croissants, coffee and eggs. Wonderful host and staff. Alessandra took time to explain the places of interest in Venice.

Soggiorno perfetto! Appartamento curato nei minimi dettagli e in una posizione ideale per visitare Venezia. Tutto lo staff è stato gentilissimo e sempre disponibile. Ci siamo sentiti come a casa. Torneremo sicuramente e lo consigliamo a chiunque voglia vivere Venezia in totale comfort

Zimmer mit Klimaanlage, die leider nicht verstellbar war. Fenster auf dunklen Schacht, ohne kaum Tageslicht. Fenster zu öffnen war keine Option - schlechte Luft, Abluft und Lärm von anderen Klimageräten.

Das Zimmer war einfach unglaublich schön. Das Frühstück war super und der Ausblick auf den Canal Grande. Wann kann man denn schon morgens die Venezianer bei ihrem treiben beobachten. Die Tour mit Alessandra war der krönende Abschluss. Wir haben Orte gesehen und Legenden erfahren, die wir niemals selbst entdeckt hätten. Alessandra und das Servicepersonal waren sehr freundlich.

Alessandra and the staff are so welcoming and warm! They happily accommodated my son's food allergies for the plentiful breakfast each morning (included) which we all enjoyed. Alessandra's guided tour provided an excellent historic overview and intriguing legends, we learned so much about this beautiful city! The room was lavishly decorated with period antiques and Murano glass. Everything was spotlessly clean throughout. The location was very central, just 10 minutes walk to St. Mark's, but in a quiet spot just off the beaten path. We look forward to coming back again!

El hotel es muy bonito, muy barroco en su decoración, le da un toque romántico que combina muy bien con Venecia. Además está en el centro de la ciudad, cerca de todo lo más relevante, pero en un enclave muy discreto, en un embarcadero con vistas al puente de Rialto en el Gran Canal. El servicio, excelente, cercano, amable y buscando siempre el trato personal con voluntad de ayudar y hacer más agradable la estancia. Desayuno excelente. La cama grande y muy cómoda. Mención especial para Alessandra, un encanto de persona, detallista, amable y servicial.  Hemos disfrutado mucho. ¡¡¡ Maravilloso lugar !!!

The host was absolutely lovely and very helpful! We conversed beforehand and she answered all of my questions promptly. Upon arrival, she gave us info about Venice restaurants and other recommendations that helped make the most of our short 2-day stay. She also served us a delicious breakfast and offered to pack us a take-away breakfast for our final early morning to the airport.

Great location with grand canal right there. Clean room but little small. Great staff, very accommodating even making us a breakfast to keep in refrigerator for next morning since would be leaving. Alessandria was wonderful.

A bit dated. No toiletries in the bathroom

The location was perfect for exploring the various neighborhoods of Venice. The property was clean & well maintained. Alessandra was prompt to answer any questions we had prior to our stay. She also provided excellent, detailed directions on how to find the property from the train station. Upon arrival, we were greeted & given a tour of the breakfast area & our accommodations. This was followed by a helpful conversation regarding navigating the city as well as several suggestions for dining. We highly recommend Antico Gatoleto for their salads & pizzas. The breakfast room overlooked the canal & provided a delightful atmosphere while enjoying our meal. Alessandra & her staff were readily available to assist us in anyway during our stay & truly made us feel pampered!

Alexandra was a gracious and informative hostess. The property was tucked away, cozy and quiet. The room was uniquely decorated, relaxing and the pier on grand canal offered great views.

Tight bathroom space. But understandly, this is a historical place and it worked. The check in staff was not nearly as helpful or easy to understand as Alessandra, who was exceptional.

Très bon emplacement, dans une petite rue à 2 pas du Rialto tout en étant au calme : aucun bruit dans la chambre. Le petit déjeuner est copieux (thé/café/chocolat, jus de fruits, fruits frais, viennoiseries, gâteaux, charcuterie, fromage, ...) et de qualité. Il est pris dans une salle avec vue sur le grand canal. La décoration est soignée.

Si vous venez de l'aéroport par Alilaguna, évitez la ligne Arancia : les bateaux sont petits et s'il y a du monde vous pouvez facilement attendre plus d'une heure dans la queue (1h30 pour nous). Préférez la ligne Blu : elle a des plus gros bateaux, et il n'y a que 10 minute de marche de l'arrêt Fondumentale Nove à l'hôtel.

Nice view of a public dock for breakfast. Watching deliveries come in by boat was interesting as they all jockey for position. No disputes but am sure there are issues from time to time. Right in the middle of most everything. Whether you want to go to Murano or Burano, see St Marks or just immerse yourself in Venetian life, Scalon de doge is in the middle of it all. I won’t say there was really anything we didn’t like, but if there was one thing that could help improve the stay it would have been to have the quest common area open all day. It is a beautiful setting and if you have to work online at all, there is no better place than that area.

The location was central to major sites and the staff was readily available. The personalized breakfast was an extra treat with a great view.

We had a late check in due to travel, she went over and above what she needed to do to accommodate, a wealth of knowledge for the area with great advice!

The property was in excellent location! Just a few minutes walk from all the main attractions. It was quiet even though it’s so close to everything. It was also very clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and very filling. We can’t wait to come back and will definitely be staying here again if it is available. Thank you so much for the staff who made our stay extra special x

Excellent stay at Scalon del Doge. The location is fantastic, central, yet quiet and convenient to everything. Breakfast was great with a good selection and a nice start to the day. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. I would definitely stay here again

Alessandra and her staff could not do enough to make our stay wonderful. It was our wedding anniversary and we arrived to Prosecco snacks a celebration message and decorative towels. On the day we left I was given a beautiful Murano glass necklace to remind me of our visit.The breakfast was tasty and plentiful a great start to the day. Beautifully decorated and clean and being on the grand canal was wonderful location and amazing to look out onto while eating breakfast

My family and I liked everything about this hotel: 1. the friendly host - Alessandra was very welcoming and helpful! She advised where to go and what to see, helped us to organise our time in Venice that we could see as many things as possible. She helped booking tickets for Doge's Palace to save our time. I could go on and on to praise her friendly and welcoming nature! 2. the location of this hotel is amazing. It is very close to most major sightseeing places. 3. the hotel itself is very beautiful, clean, and charming. It has its unique atmosphere! Our beds were very comfortable too.

L’emplacement est exceptionnel à 2 pas du Rialto, l’accueil d’Alessandra et la disponibilité du personnel sont parfaits, la décoration des lieux nous plonge dans une ambiance typiquement vénitienne, le petit-déjeuner est servi en abondance, très varié avec des produits frais.

Wyjątkowe miejsce , pełne uroku, personel uśmiechnięty, pomocny i miły. Dobre śniadania. Z tego miejsca wszędzie blisko. Cicho i spokojnie. Pokój stylowo wenecki - fajny dodatek do pobytu.

Scalone de Doge is a small B&B with an authentic old-world Venetian style. Our hostess, Alessandra, was extremely communicative leading up to and during our stay. She provided very clear instructions on the location and how to get there, and even assisted with the steps to obtain an exemption from the Venetian tourist tax. The location was very central and a short walk to St. Mark's Square. Breakfast was offered daily, in their breakfast room with a beautiful view of the Grand Canal. There were options to fit everyone's tastes. We took Alessandra's "Secret Life of Venetians" tour, which put a new light on how Venetians live (both past and present), as well as the extensive history and new appreciation and understanding of the rich culture, history, and art that can be seen just walking through the city. Highly recommend this if you're staying with her. Alessandra is extremely passionate about the B&B, the city, and sharing it with you. Our room overlooked one of the canals, and it was fun to hear the tourists coming through all through the day and night. The staff went over a map of Venice upon arrival and provided us with a list of recommended restaurants to help us avoid the tourist traps.

This is not the hotel's or Alessandra's fault. It was Easter weekend, so the city itself was packed full of tourists and very overwhelming. Accommodations in general are on the smaller side in Venice, and we found it challenging to deal with our obnoxious, oversized (American) luggage (three pieces) within the room. It also wasn't very fun to get it up and down the grand staircase leading up to the B&B.
