on last day of stay went for breakfast, put on a table with just a knife and fork and used jug of milk, no menu, sat there waited and waited so decided to go for cereal and continental breakfast, there were no cereal bowls to be seen or plates for continental breakfast, went back to my table to find a heap cutlery on a tray in middle table so gave up went back to my room, been going to Belgrave hotel for 4 years first time experience poor quality service.

The room was spacious and mostly clean. It was nice to find cold water in the fridge, and treats for our anniversary. Breakfast was really nice and filling. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive The swimming pool was a nice welcome. A little on the small side but not many people were in the pool so it worked for us. The sauna and steam room were a welcome. Having car parking was a bonus, location was good - not too near the hustle and bustle, but near enough to walk around the harbour and into town.

We went in the hot weather, room was too hot, one fan was not enough. There was dust hanging down from ceiling There were fruit flies on the fruit at breakfast - maybe keep covered. Our view was the road and bowling green - that was fine, but not a fab view!

Close to main very busy road , couldn’t sleep with window closed because was hot and open window- to much noise.

I enjoyed my stay at the Begrave Sands Hotel and spa . The staff were welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely. Breakfast large choice and evening menu good choice . Bedroom was comfortable with all amenities catered for .

Sadly I found the hotel to be too warm for me . It felt uncomfortable but that may have just been me . It would probably stop me revisiting which is disappointing as that was the only negative in what was a enjoyable stay . Wouldn't put anyone staying though .

Room was fine and of a decent size. Breakfast was very good but service was a bit slow on some mornings. Dinner was good but the menu didn't vary a lot and all the main courses had a lack of vegetables choices.

I was here peak holiday season for work, the breakfast was a little slow but the quality of the fresh cooked breakfast was excellent.

Booked Belgrave Sands reasonably last minute for a 3 night stay and was thoroughly impressed. Although the photos from the outside looks a bit dated (apparently listed so not much they can do) this hotel deserves five stars all the way. The decor and interior has been tastefully done with neutral, modern colours and the staff were friendly and extremely courteous. There is a beautiful relaxing patio at the side of the building and at the front to have drinks and snacks after having a swim in the pool, sunbathing on the sun patio or pre-drinks before dinner. The rooms were immaculate and very clean. Literally 100 yards to the sea front it was a great base to have a gentle walk into Torquay or get the bus to Paington, Brixham or Babbacombe. As we were in the middle of a heatwave we emailed before we arrived to check if there would be a cooling fan available (tbh we werent expecting any to be available) but when we arrived it was already in the room! Food was excellent and not over-priced, staff were happy, relaxed and attentive, parking not a problem and we could tell from the conversations between other guests and staff that they were return visitors and had been remembered. We will be back and we will recommend... just a pity we'd come from york and its a heck of a drive. Well done Belgrave Sands.

The property was spotless in all areas. The staff were all amazing. The breakfast was outstanding and so was the service. You cannot fault this hotel. Also the location was spot on and always a car parking space.

The location is fantastic, 10 mins walk to shopping centre and bars. Inside hotel was lovely and modern. Outside patio area is lovely to sit and have a drink. Excellent breakfast, lots to choose from.

Entertainment wasn't that great, a bit boring. More for over 70s if you like a singer that sings quietly. Would be great to have tribute nights, something for everyone. The back of hotel where the sun loungers are could be doing with a makeover as a bit rundown, the sun doesn't get there till about 3pm. You could swap the loungers to area outside pool and put tables and chairs where sun loungers are, just my thoughts 🤔.

2 nights lovely stay. Location close to the beach. Rooms well presented. Beds comfy and great pillows Used the pool Great outdoor seating areas. Had first night dinner in the main restaurant which was outstanding and would highly recommend. Piano player was so good. Second night ate in the lounge. Same amazing quality. Great cocktails. Breakfast divine. Service impeccable. All staff are a credit to the hotel. Exceeded our expectations. Special note Izzy the waitress who was a star. Will be back. Thank you

Room was really hot, obviously can’t be helped at this time of year. The fan was helpful. The pool was really small, this was one of the main reasons for booking so was disappointed by the size.

Swimming Pool very small. There was some noise in the night coming from I think a generator or some kind of fan turning on and off. It was not our bathroom fan I had ear plugs in so managed to sleep. Room 127 maybe someone could investigate. Tables in dinning area would benefit with rearrangement ie parents with children and prams, I strangled to get to and from my table. Staff need to be trained a bit more on items missing off tables salt/ pepper etc.

we had a superior room, asked for walk in shower which was provided. no complaints about the bedroom or bathroom. clean premises all around. breakfast had nice selection, my favourite was French toast with bacon, dinner was very nice, but could do with more options changed daily, i think there was only one option changed daily. All the staff were very well presented and courteous. Clean spa facilities.

Lack of entertainment

Breakfast excellent menu and food served hot /eggs served to perfection. Location spot on, near beach, bars and transport facilities.

Only a small issue, it would have been nice to have easier to use soap dispensers in bathroom as only small amount dispersed each time.

It has to be the best hotel in Torquay, by far. We have stayed at the Belgrave Sands now about 10 times, and nothing changes its just perfection waiting for you !! lovely rooms and excellent food all in a great location. See you again in December.

Was an absolutely lovely Hotel, extremely clean. Lovely rooms, all the facilities I could possibly want ( or need) even fresh milk. And a bible ...which was great The Spa was lovely too...The food in the restaurant was beautiful ( as was the breakfast !) My mum has been extremely unwell fhe past couple of years( as have I) and we just needed some mother and daughter time. Staff couldn't have been more helpful, in particular Kim. ( The Receptionist) I think? Possibly manage? .we shall be back. Thanks ...

We booked 2 x deluxe rooms, one was good the other was a lot smaller in size. But clean.

There were a couple of steps as you entered our room that you could easily trip on but otherwise everything was great

The hotel was clean and tidy,and very comfortable in the public area's.

The bed room was very hot and uncomfortable to sleep. The room had fans but just pushed hot air around. Needs air-conditioning in summer desperately.

Stayed for 3nts B&B in a deluxe double. The room was very clean, well decorated and spacious and had a wonderful bathroom. Nothing was too much trouble. I required a shower seat and it was waiting when we checked in along with an air cooler fan. The whole hotel is exceptionally clean and well decorated. Nowadays most hotels - even high rated ones - are tired not this one everything was tiptop. The breakfast was very good and we ate in the lounge and this too was very good especially the fish and chips. There is a lovely relaxed feel to the whole place. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I cannot rate this hotel high enough. We are already booked to return later in the month.

Visited here Sunday morning for breakfast with two other friends. Apart from the staff all being very pleasant and friendly. I have never had the chef come to our table, introduce themselves and explain the breakfast is all cooked fresh and to order. What a lovely man Eric, could have chatted with you all day. Food was excellent and delicious. Will definitely be back, not everyone gets chance to speak with the chef. Belgrave sands are very lucky to have you. Keep up the good work.

Medium size hotel, great for walking around everything within a short walk if you have mobility issues, also has a lift. Indoor pool with steps, sauna and steam room reinvigorates you. Decent gym and kept cool. Beautiful seating area by pool, lovely decor and beautiful gardens. The rooms are clean and smell nice. Lovely bed and crisp bedding and towels. Bathrooms have large showers, with good quality shampoo, conditioner and wash gel. Tea and coffee facilities. The hotel is beautiful and kept very well, lovely seating areas indoor and outdoor. Fridge, safe, iron, hair dryer, fan supplied in room. The hotel is perfect for us the cherry on the cake would be air conditioning. Excellent breakfast, friendly helpful staff. Food always looks lovely. Nice choice menu not just your average. The food is very good at this hotel. Parking included on site. Won't stay anywhere else... 😁

Personally we love this hotel, it was very hot when we stayed but we took an extra fan for the room, which could benefit from air conditioning. The communal areas were cool. The entrance to the spa and pool is on the very side of the restaurant, which means at certain times you walk past a few people eating in your dressing gown. I would put up a flowered curtain screen on the little bit of a short walkway so it's more discreet. It could easily be done by using a curtain track. 😘

Back for another stay at this wonderful hotel. The whole place is kept clean and tidy. The food is very very good. Evening meal is delightful and breakfast made special by the chef who walks around the tables making sure everyone is happy. It was exceptionally hot and slightly uncomfortable through the night. I would still come back.

Arrival on coach Manager came to talk to us Room a bit small, didn't sleep due to hot weather fan helped a bit. Our room on a noisy road but benefit with a fridge.Breakfast was good. Dinner needed to change menu more especially hot weather salad option would have been nice and bigger portions. Air conditioning was directly on our table so got quite cold. Tables need moving round in a better way as being a coach party would be nice to sit with other people rather than on your own. Staff were good, friendly and always cleaned

Beautiful hotel, spotless, excellent staff particularly in restaurant, food very good and in idyllic location. Would I go again, the answer is no, at least not in the summer for the hotel is let down by its lack of air conditioning in the rooms. It was stifling hot and the fan provided hd little effect. Had there been air conditioning I would have given it 5 stars.

Just arrived back from a 4 night stay at your wonderful hotel and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed every night spent with you. I'd like to draw particular attention to the food as every meal I had with you was superb. It was exciting every morning to see that evenings menu posted in the lobby given me a chance to look forward all day to that evening's fantastic meal of which the honey and mustard glazed gammon with homemade chips and parsley sauce was my personal favourite meal. I'd also like to give special thanks to Ava in the restaurant who was always extremely pleasant and friendly in a very busy and this week in particular very hot environment. I can't wait to return to the bellgrave sands very soon 10/10
