Kinosaki Onsen Kawaguchiya Honkan

Right in the heart of town. Lovely private onsen ( reasonable extra charge for 45 mins). Unfortunately not good for mobility issues that I developed a few days prior to the trip. They spontaneously moved us to a lower room. It turned out to be much bigger and helped my comfort when hobbling. Close to train station.

The train station shuttle only went one way.

連泊しても外湯のフリーパスは2日目の13時で終わりだった。行った日に休みの外湯もあるので、外湯の制覇は無理だった。2日目の18時位まで有効なら制覇出来たかも？

Incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful staff. It’s a beautiful property with huge attention to detail. The quality of service and furnishings far exceeds expectations. The location is smack in the kiddle of town and its many onsen. I cannot recommend this place (and the town) enough. Next time, I’ll stay for two nights.

I had a room on the side of the building with a balcony overlooking the canal. The room was a modern ryokan design which I loved. The staff was very attentive to my needs. The room was very good value for money probably because of the time of year as Kinosaki can be quite pricey.

The indoor woman bath was a little basic but still very nice. Sadly, there’s only 5 out of 7 public onsens currently in function in Kinosaki.

Very charming old building, my room was the perfect mix of modern and traditional. The staff were amazing and so helpful. Amazing ryokan experience in a beautiful location.

The staff was really helpful and cheerful. They helped with the luggage and explained how to wear a yukata. The room had everything we needed and the private onsen was a delight.

This ryokan was our first overnight stop as we landed at Osaka airport, and Im so happy it was. The place is really charming, easy to reach from the train station, and well-located in the main street where all other onsen establishments are located, making it easy to enjoy an all-onsen evening. The traditional Japanese room (ryokan) was comfy, had everything needed, along with a nice tea service. A small but cosy onsen downstairs much helped in the morning before departure. Staff was always attentive, offering high level of hospitality and great advice. I only wish I had more time to enjoy their food offer.

Near to the station. Once arrived, service staff at station asks about your lodging and assigns a minibus to you, free of charge.

No coffee or tea bags. No lift but they helped with the bags.

Located within walking distance to the train station and all the onsen. And I love that the room has its own private shower. The futon bed is heavenly, I slept so well in it. They respond to my inquiry in a timely manner. They also have brochures that provide several information regarding the accommodations and Kinosakionsen in English. And since this is an onsen town, we were provided a set of yutaka clothing and the onsen day pass. I would like to thank the staff that speak English for her warmest welcome and patience ( sorry I kept you waiting for my check-in ). Terima kasih from Malaysia.

Although the room I booked is a triple room, it is quite a tight space even for 2 people. While the balcony is lovely, the chair is tiny and uncomfortable. And since the shower has a glass door facing the sleeping area, we need to use the blind for privacy.

Beautiful place, great ryokan style with western commodities, the staff was the most friendly of our trip, they gave us recommendations, and helped us sending us object that we forgot after our stay.

Location is the number, right in the middle of walking street by the beautiful canal especially at night. The ryokan is pretty cute and decent at a very good price.

Beautiful Place to stay. Everything was perfect and the staff were so nice and accommodating. Location in the centre of town. 100% plan to stay here again.

Literally the only downside was the towels were small and ¥220 for an extra towel.

¡Una experiencia muy bonita y auténtica! El hotel te ofrece zapatos para la calle y zapatillas para ir por el hotel. También te proporciona una yukata de tu talla y un QR para poder ir a los onsen del pueblo, aunque ellos tienen también su propio onsen. Repetiría :)

Fuimos varios amigos y hay habitaciones más simples que otras, que por ejemplo, no tienen ducha. Hay un "toque de queda" a las 11PM donde cierra el hotel, pero también forma parte de la experiencia así que no me pareció un problema.

Tutto bellissimo, la camera , molto accogliente (grande e comoda) con piccolo balcone con la vista sul fiume, e la posizione centrale! Mi dispiace che siamo stati solo una notte, mi piacerebbe molto di più! :)

Unica pecca e stato Onsen, qualche problema con fuoriuscita dell'acqua, ma posso perdonare visto che in città ci sono tanti bagni pubblici termali (la tessera per ingresso è inclusa nel prezzo dell' albergo).

Ryokan is very conveniently located. It's about a 10 to 15 minute walk from Kinosaki Onsen Station and is near many restaurants and stores. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Most people probably don't use it because of all the onsens and the ofuro in the ryokan, but the shower is small.

The room is very spacious, much bigger than mentioned in Booking site. Massage chair in the room is a big surprise. All of staff we met are very noce and supportive. Location is in the middle of the town, close to all onsen places Last but not least, we enjoyed onsen very much, great experience.

Very welcoming and friendly staff who took the time to explain all the different amenities available, such as the onsens in town, as well as the yukatas provided, towels, etc. They served us fresh tea upon arrival and were very kind. A great location, and Kinosaki is always a wonderful onsen town to be in.

A great Ryokan in the centre of Kinosaki. A short walk to the onsens and a great view of the mountains and street from the balcony. I stayed mid week and the town was quiet and perfect to relax in. Friendly helpful staff always available.

Unreal. A perfect few days. Unbelievably beautiful room and location. Everything we needed, incredible staff and beautiful experience. Incredible private onsen. I don't rate the public one but it's not bother considering how fantastic the entire town is. I can not say enough to how fantastic it was, and how amazing the staff were. A DREAM! and, the best sleep I've ever had in my life on the futon.

Ottima accoglienza, ci è stato spiegato come sono organizzate le onsen in modo dettagliato. Ottima anche l’onsen privata da prenotare in struttura. Stanza molto grande e accessoriata.

Perfectly located in the centre of everything. Easy walk to all the onsen in town. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful at explaining how everything worked with the onsen-hopping. They provide the onsen pass and all the clothes etc so it’s very straightforward. In addition the room and communal spaces were beautifully done. Great value for money too.

Worth being aware that there is no lift/elevator.

Lo que más me gustó fue la atención, fueron muy amables y nuestra anfitriona nos explicó claramente todo lo que necesitábamos saber para disfrutar de la estancia en Kinosaki Onsen y de los baños públicos. Además, la habitación era muy cómoda y con muy buena vista al río. Tanto la ropa que nos facilitaron como la ropa de cama era excelente. Muy buena almohada. Pedimos el desayuno por un muy buen precio y fue una gran experiencia, ya que era un desayuno tradicional, muy rico.

The hotel's public bath needs a renovation, rest of the house is great. But as you come to Kinosaki Onsen to enjoy the various public baths, this is not big issue.

absolutely loved our stay in Kinosaki Onsen. We booked a quadruple room for just the two of us, which gave us plenty of space and made the stay extra comfortable. We were given yakuta and slippers to wear around the town, which added to the experience and charm. We booked the private onsen for two nights and really enjoyed it. After bathing, there was a little fridge with beer and water, which was a thoughtful touch. The whole experience was relaxing and special. The staff were lovely. During the day there were English-speaking staff, and in the evenings we were able to communicate easily enough using Google Translate. There’s a curfew at 11pm, which didn’t bother us at all since we were usually asleep by 9.30. The town itself is peaceful and beautiful. Some shops do close unexpectedly, but we always managed to find food. There’s a post office where you can buy postcards and send them off, and it also has an ATM for cash withdrawals. Things are generally quiet during the day, so it’s worth knowing in advance. The typhoon meant the ropeway was closed during our stay, but that didn’t take away from the experience. We loved walking around, soaking up the calm atmosphere, and enjoying this very traditional town. Overall, Kinosaki Onsen was amazing, peaceful, and well worth the visit.

The staff is very friendly and homely. It is only a five-minute walk away from the train station and the view is spectacular. The breakfast made of local ingredients is vedry refreshing.

It has an 11pm curfew which some would find inconvenient should they need something from the combini at the corner of the street but given it a small town this must be done for security purpose.

Muy bien alojamiento en ahora. el trato por parte del personal fue excelente y los servicios buenos (con desayuno incluido). La noche que llegamos había “movie night” pero no la aprovechamos ya que estábamos agotados. Eso sí, el onsen si que lo usamos y aunque humilde en comparación a otros que hemos visto, disfrutamos mucho. Nosotros reservamos una habitación doble con baño compartido (baños limpios). Pero eso sí, no hay duchas como tales, si quieres ducharte tienes que bañarte en el onsen (y en sus duchas) obligatoriamente, pues no cuentan con duchas aparte (en la modalidad de baño compartido) tal y como lo explican las reglas.

Que tengas que usar el onsen si o si si quieres darte una ducha.

What a beautiful place to stay in Kinosakionsen. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the rooms are beautifully designed (we chose one with a terrace and river a view which was delightful) and it is perfectly located for onsen hopping. Free yukata and basket rental provided, as well as an onsen pass. We had such a wonderful time here.

Property is centrally located in Kinosaki Onsen’s main street and canal. It is also almost in front of Jizou-Yu, one of Japan the town’s seven public baths. Room I stayed in was modern and recently built or renovated. This ryokan has its own bath. Staff at check in was very nice and helpful. They do let you know that staff after a certain time in the afternoon do not speak English and there is an 11:30 PM curfew - they lock the doors. Breakfast or dinner was not included but room and inn were still of great value. It even has its own private balcony area. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone and would stay again if given the chance.

Located in the center of the onsen town, you can walk to all of the natural springs in town. Like all the other accommodations, you were given an entry code for your stay. The room was a comfortable traditional Japanese room with an attached bath. There was parking which was convenient since we came by car.
