The cleanliness of the room, we found some hairs on the carpet which was not ideal. I also think the host should upgrade the TV it was to small and also get rid of the old couches in the balcony as some were torn.

Reviewed Aug 4, 2026Breakfast was not offered by the accommodation. However, they provided a list of nearby facilities and restaurants where guests could enjoy breakfast and other meals.
Some guests were quite noisy during the night, and the owner had to intervene to calm the situation down. Aside from that, the owner was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating.

Reviewed Apr 25, 2026We stayed at Billfish Apartments from 21–25 April and had the most wonderful experience, especially as we celebrated our 10-year wedding anniversary there — it made the occasion even more special. The apartment is absolutely beautiful, with the most incredible ocean views — waking up to the sound and sight of the sea was pure magic. The unit has everything you need for a perfect break away from home. The kitchen is beautifully equipped, the living area is comfortable and inviting, and the bathroom and bedroom are lovely and well appointed. Our favourite part was the veranda overlooking the ocean, complete with a table, chairs and Weber braai — the perfect spot to relax and soak in the view. Everything was spotless, comfortable and thoughtfully prepared. It truly felt like a home away from home, but with a spectacular seaside setting. Celebrating our anniversary here made it even more memorable. 5 stars all the way — we’ll definitely be back!

There’s no sound proof you could hear people on top floor even when they dropped a coin, fan was not , he promised to come fix it and he never did. The door was not locking and made us very uncomfortable to stay

Reviewed Sep 29, 2025EVERYTHING 10/10 !!!! Everything was absolutely perfect! The apartment was spotlessly clean, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to the beach, which made our stay even more enjoyable. During our stay, my 7yr son unfortunately caught a cold and the owner went above and beyond to help us by finding a nearby GP, which was such a relief and incredibly kind of him. He was so kind enough by allowing us a late check out while we attended to the DR's visit. We truly appreciated the care and attention. Highly recommend—would definitely stay here again!

Reviewed Jul 7, 2025You can't talk about Billfish without talking about the outstanding host, DOLF ☺️ and absolute gem of a man , goes the extra mile to ensure your stay is pleasant. The room is amazing as well as the views and it's walking distance from all the cool sea points, shops and restaurants
The only thing I didn't like is the fact that I had to go home haha. I'm definitely a repeat tenant from here on out🙂♥️

The failing infrastructure in Ballito resulted in frequent power interruptions. This a municipality problem beyond the control of the host but something travelers should be prepared for. The backup solar power only lasts for a few hours. The ISP's internet was not stable with long outage periods. The host should consider switching to a more reliable ISP if such a thing even exists.
