Dear Booking.com Management I am writing to formally complain about our extremely disappointing stay at Hyatt House Irvine/John Wayne Airport on August 8, 2026, and to request a full refund due to the unacceptable condition of the room and the lack of response after we reported these problems to the front desk. My family and I traveled from San Diego to Irvine specifically to spend the night and have a pleasant family stay. We chose Hyatt House Irvine/John Wayne Airport expecting the quality and cleanliness normally associated with the Hyatt brand. Unfortunately, this was literally one of the worst hotel experiences our family has ever had. Reservation details: Guest Name: Ziad Abou Hotel: Hyatt House Irvine/John Wayne Airport Address: 2320 Main Street, Irvine, CA 92614 Check-in: August 8, 2026 at approximately 3:00 PM Room Type: 1 King Studio Suite with Sofa Bed and Kitchen Booking.com Reservation Number: 5415710962 Room Charge: $201.89 Parking: $28.00 Total Paid: $229.89 The condition of the room was unacceptable for a hotel stay at this price: • The room was not properly clean when we arrived. • The refrigerator was not working. • The freezer was full of water and contained an ice cube container that was dirty. • We had to clean the refrigerator and freezer ourselves simply to be able to use them. • Even the bed sheets did not appear to be clean, which made us extremely uncomfortable sleeping in the room. Most importantly, we did not simply leave these problems unreported. We contacted the front desk and informed them about the issues during our stay. Unfortunately, nothing meaningful was done to resolve the situation. We traveled from San Diego to Irvine with my wife and son specifically expecting to have a comfortable and enjoyable night away from home. Instead, we spent part of our stay dealing with a dirty room and a non-functioning refrigerator/freezer, and we were left feeling that our concerns were not taken seriously.

The hotel staff and accommodations were as expected. The shuttle was available when I needed it at the airport and the staff was responsive and courteous. The room was clean however I did have to wait 30 minutes after check-in before it was ready. My only complaint is that they did not have safes in the rooms for my valuables. Other than that, I would stay there again.

the breakfast needs more variety especially on the soup and protein staff at the reception does not seem very knowledgeable yet on the system that we were asked to call our 3rd party booking platform to help us without properly exhausting all efforts on her end needs to work on customer service skills too

Under new ownership. Room was dirty, lights didn’t work, dirty linens outside room when arrived. Keep in mind housekeeping does light cleaning 2nd day of stay, and a full cleaning on the 5th day, when you are most likely gone. New assistant general manager Cindy Chen did not want to help with issues at all, claimed they were resolved. This used to be a great family stay, not anymore. I wouldn’t recommend.

One TV that had to be rotated between the bedroom and the living room; therefore if someone was in the bedroom watching TV then no one could watch TV in the living room and vice versa Also the shower head was so close to the wall you couldn’t adjust it to where you wanted the water to go

Return stay for niece UCI graduation. Check in process went very smoothly. Rooms were large and well appointed. got to use the kitchen ammenities that came in handy. Room was clean and everything in working order. welcomed as a globalist. Hotel location is great- next to many eateries and shopping. close proximty to UCI and Costco for Fuel- Cali fuel is silly expensive. Breakfast was adequate for a hyatt hosue and convenient way to start your day. Would return and recommend to friends and family. Hyatt Regency is less then a block away. might have to try that property too.

Beyond the front entrance of this hotel is a spacious lobby that accommodates a business center, snack area and lobby seating area before being greeted by the two-member front desk hotel staff. This is a very clean hotel that provides a wonderfully put-together complimentary full breakfast! They do offer limited lounge type foods including spirits late in the afternoon. Outside is a small pool area and/or quaint seating area to enjoy, to include an indoor gym. They also offer a free shuttle ride to the John Wayne Airport located 10 minutes away. This hotel is simply perfect for travelers who appreciate the pleasure of relaxation, comfort and peace of mind away from "hustle and bustle" activities. I would like to commend both Steffany and Hector (Front Desk Representatives) for their genuinely energetic and excellent customer service! The both of you are passionately driven to ensure guest experinces is held to the highest standards - amazing!!! Hyatt should commend you both greatly for being ambassadors behind their successes!!

Breakfast was decent. Thank you. Should have music. Even piped in. Should have happy hour. Even if nuts and cheap wine.

Great location, spacious suite with a full kitchen perfect for family. This is our 4th time staying here and it has been a favorite of ours when we are visiting our daughter at UC Irvine. Convenient location, clean rooms and beds. Complimentary breakfast, easy access to everything.

Room was below Hyatt standards and staff were not accommodating with anything other than helping get silverware that was in room Last time I stayed. Did not help on in any way work with me when there was an emergency that occurred prior to trip and would not flexible at all wasted an entire nights money would do nothing regardless of notifying them before and during. Very disappointing when booked direct and tried to maintain communication. Won’t be back for a lame room uncomfortable bed not even clean overpriced room thanks but Hyatt regency is down the street and work every penny

They didn't try to help . Just plain simple we don't see your reservation we don't check u in. U have to talk to booking.com yourself. It's like taking to robot. No feeling no empathy or en effort to try to find solution. We were too tired to even argue so we went back to our car and tried to call booking.com only to talked to AI. We sat in our and gave up and decided to go back home. The front desk came out and suddenly tried to help by saying I will check u guys in and we will charge u the same price as shown on booking.com Here we go. He got his humanity back as we almost drove away. This could have been handled better from beginning with understanding and little empathy for paying customer in this urgent situation like this.

Very nice hotel in the heart of Irvine. Staff was great. So was the breakfast buffet and the fitness center. Would recommend this hotel if your staying in Irvine and want to be close to JWA.

The room was clean and spacious. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and we were able to check in early. Our bathroom door came off the track and when we came back from lunch it was fixed.

The bed had a slight down hill slope to it and the sheets were a bit scratchy.

Everything clean and in good condition. The front desk check in was quick and efficient. The front desk clerk remembered my name when I came by later that night.

Really enjoyed breakfast - you have all the options here! Eggs, toast with jam, orange juice, oatmilk, coffee, cereals, oatmeal with all the toppings, bacon, bagels with cream cheese, and more! We would return just for the great breakfast! Beds were very comfortable too and the gym was nice a clean.

Only one small thing was the refrigerator in the room was making weird noises after we opened it. I am confident you will fix it and I should have mentioned it. It really was not a big deal and did not detract from our enjoyment of our stay!

The hotel is modern and nice. The gym was well equipped, included a peloton. Breakfast had a good variety, including the less traditional offering of miso soup and rice. Staff were helpful, even letting my kid check out a pool noodle to play with before the pool was actually open. The pool opens at 10am, by the way. The only bummer was the $28/day parking fee.

Great location. Very pet friendly. Very clean. Price is very good. Pool was perfect temp heated. We shot some basketball hoops in the water. We have been coming here every year since they opened. The breakfast was very good. they have a big variety. The staff is excellent and friendly. You can tell they love working there.

Stayed here for 2 weeks. nice, easy stay. The laundry room and morning breakfast and kitchenette make it an easy stay for a long stay. Nice spacious clean rooms.

The Hyatt House continues to amaze me. The people in this particular location seem so much nicer and genuinely happy to work there and serve guests. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The location is great and safe. The one area for improvement is the noise outside. How to improve that ? I have no idea other than re-sealing the window gaps.

The location is close to the airport and they provided a shuttle. The hotel and rooms are very clean. Great options for their breakfast buffet. The staff is helpful and friendly.

The parking fee is quite pricey. We had 2 separate cars and they charged $28/car so we added $56 for parking. Other than that everything went smoothly. Although we might consider stay at Marriott next time, as they charge only 1 car for parking that we can use for both cars.

Customer service is bad.no room service for taking trash out or if need toilet paper they told to down stairs and get it my self🤬

Worse than I expected. Maybe I had high expectations for this hotel. Most of the staff were nice and kind, except for one front desk employee, Edward. I ordered an item from Amazon, and the estimated delivery date was February 17. I saw the Amazon delivery driver in the parking lot, so I knew my package had arrived. I also received a notification saying that my item had been handed to someone at the front desk. When I asked Edward about my package, he asked for my name and went into a small room in the back. He returned and said there was no package under my name. I showed him the delivery notification, but he kept insisting that there was nothing. I double-checked the address with him—2320 Main Street—and he replied, “No, it’s 2320.” That was exactly the address I had given him. He continued to say there was no package under my name. Later, another staff member recognized me and said she had received my package. Edward went back into the room again and finally found it. He did not apologize for the mistake, although the other staff member did. His attitude was very disappointing and unprofessional.

Great experience. Parking wasn't cheap at $28 per night and the Peloton Bike wasn't working which was a bummer. But the hotel is very nice and the staff are very helpful.

This was one of the most disappointing Hyatt stays I’ve ever experienced, and I would strongly recommend that travelers consider other options. The biggest issue was the room itself. Hyatt House promotes spacious accommodations with fully equipped kitchens and dedicated workspaces, which is the primary reason many guests choose this brand. However, the room I was assigned was the smallest on the floor and did not include a kitchenette, despite being presented and priced as a standard Hyatt House room. That is not consistent with the brand’s promise and falls far short of the typical Hyatt House experience. If you are booking Hyatt House specifically for the kitchen setup and additional space, be aware that this property does not consistently deliver what the brand advertises. I will not be returning and would advise others to stay elsewhere in the area.

Convenience, location and the room layout.

The tiny fridge was sitting on the ground Very difficult to get to and dark. Older guests... Home2 somehow fits in a full size fridge. We dealt with it. The only other item is the construction... new building adjacent and refurb across from the front door. Both are temporary.

The rooms were spacious, with plenty of table space for working, and a small fridge in the kitchenette for my dinner and beverages. They have a limited menu for dinner, and I was impressed with breakfast. I loved the mixed fruit on my pancakes, the green tea, and the sausage links. There were vegetarian options as well. The rooms were fairly clean. I always bring my cleaning wipes due to my allergies. They accept pets, so if you have allergies, this may not be the place for you. I asked for a hypoallergenic room, but unsure if they had one at this location. It is not too far from the airport.
