La guesthouse è molto curata e pulitissima, tradizionale con una casa bellissima e spazi per muoversi. Molto grande con possibilità di fare colazione (meglio comprare prima) o cene. Te e caffè si possono fare comodamente. Lavatrice.
La nostra camera (solo lei) aveva un inspiegabile odore di cavolo che rimaneva anche aprendo le finestre ma preciso pure che dal mio tatami si vedeva il monte Fuji 🤩🤩🤩 e il cavolo è passato subito nel dimenticatoio. Poca privacy bagno: Cioè i servizi sono in comune maschi e femmine e il lavabo è in mezzo al corridoio. Manca in pratica una stanza riparata (anche da rumori) per il bagno. Preciso pure che proprio di fianco si può uscire (per i fumatori). Io ho utilizzato l’uscita per vedere il monte Fuji all’alba mentre ero ancora in mutande 🤣🤣.

Stayed with kids in summer, all was very comfortable. Some traditional arts to try. Would 100% stay again. One of those places that you do not want to check out from.

The hotel put a lot of effort into making guests feel comfortable and providing authentic Japanese experiences to learn from, like origami and calligraphy. Would totally stay here again.
Because we were hiking Mt. Fuji, we forwarded our bags and actually called ahead to this guesthouse to confirm that they would be able to receive our bags. They said yes, someone would be there to receive our bags. When we arrived to the guesthouse (dirty, no clothes, tired), the delivery slip said there was no staff to receive the bags because they go on planned break from 10-2. So we had to wait at the hostel for 4 hours for the bags to be redelivered. It’s not the end of the world, but the guesthouse officially said there would be staff to receive our bags, and yet they didn’t. Also the room had a strange smell.

Staying here was a magical experience and gave me the chance to experience the charm of an authentic old Japanese home. The hosts were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always willing to help. It's the perfect place if you want to explore the lake, rent a bicycle, or prepare for climbing Mt. Fuji. The peaceful atmosphere makes it an ideal base before or after the hike. If I ever come back to Kawaguchiko, I would definitely choose to stay here again. I highly recommend this guest house with complete confidence.

Everyone staying understood the vibe and we're very respectful and quiet throughout the stay. Really well located, and a very comfortable stay.

Reviewed Jul 2, 2026Très bien situé. Chambre et futons confortables. Bons équipements et lieu très propre. Le coin salon est un vrai plus, absolument magnifique. L’hébergement propose aussi plusieurs expériences gratuites : expérimentation de la calligraphie, de l’origami, se vêtir en kimono etc.
Nous nous sommes sentis mis dehors le matin de notre départ. Du personnel s’activait dans tous les sens pour nettoyer sans prêter attention aux clients présents. Il n’était pas possible de se poser quelques minutes pour boire un thé ou attendre un peu l’horaire du train, même si nous avions rendu la chambre. A 10h, il fallait être dehors ! Assez curieux comme expérience…

The house itself was a real, traditional japanese structure, as well as the room, and we loved it. Everyone from the staff was extremely cordial and nice. The breakfast was essential but really good. Everything was quite, clean and cozy. In the morning we also enjoyed an amazing, unexpected view of mount Fuji from the window of our room. We really love Kawaguchiko and staying in this guesthouse and we definitely recommend it.

Moderna con aire acondicionado y servicios varios, incluyendo lavandería y cocina compartidas. Hermosas exhibición de kimonos y hasta de podría practicar la escritura en lienzo con pinceles. Una casa muy acogedora. Volvería mil veces. El personal fue muy amable y os dan un recuerdo muy mono en origami.

Me gustó todo en realidad, hay que tener en cuenta que las paredes son muy delgadas y todo se escucha, la experiencia siempre va a depender de los otros huéspedes que te toque en la estancia, me quedé dos noches la primera fue excelente, en cambio la segunda hubo personas que no respetaron los horarios de silencio, y ponerte a hablar e las 4:30am y usar el secador de pelo es de mala educación sabiendo que no se puede ni se debe. Pero esto no es culpa del alojamiento.

La chambre était grande et confortable, l'espace commun au rez-de-chaussée est tres beau, on a mangé une délicieuse fondue japonaise. Il est possible de cuisiner, il y a un frigo et on peut voir le mont fuji de la chambre, un des meilleurs logements en 6 mois de voyage ! Foncez !

Reviewed May 17, 2026Absolutely unique experience of Japanese culture. We stayed in a beautiful house where the walls witnessed the history. We slept on futon beds to wake up in the morning for seeing magnificent mount Fuji from our windows. We drank the water coming from the mount. We explored the surroundings with short walks from the house taking us to some amazing places from where we could admire the mighty Fuji, the lakes, the beautiful town Kawaguchiko.
We enjoyed every moment of our stay.

Reviewed May 5, 2026Great hotel in an excellent location. It was very convenient to get around and enjoy the surroundings. The staff were extremely caring, polite, and always willing to assist with anything we needed. We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel.

Reviewed Apr 22, 2026Fue muy lindo ser recibidas en Wafu al llegar al hermoso Fuji Kawaguchiko. Solo nos quedamos una noche y todo estuvo muy bien, la señora que nos recibió fue muy amable, desde la habitación se veía el monte Fuji. El hostel tiene un espacio compartido muy bonito y tradicional, donde te podes probar yukata y escribir en kanji. Las instalaciones funcionales y cálidas. La ubicación está muy buena, cerca de la estación. Algo a destacar, dejamos nuestro equipaje hasta más tarde que el horario de check out, y como nos olvidamos de avisar, dejamos una carta, la señora nos respondió con una carta muy adorable y unos caramelos de despedida. Recomendamos!

Reviewed Apr 16, 2026The guesthouse is set up really well, with washing/dryer, kitchen, shared toilets and showers, as well as lovely loving space and 'experience' room where you can try oragami and calligraphy. The owner/staff member was so lovely and welcoming. Its also a fun experience to try Japanese style rooms for the first time. Location is great, amazing view and close to the lake for exploring (we hired bikes easily and spent the day cycling)
Its an old guesthouse so you hear everything - the floors are creaky, the walls are thin etc. Our neighbours didn't really understand that - hairdryer at midnight?!? (Maybe move the hairdryer downstairs so away from guest rooms?) So its not a place for a lie in, but since most are hoping for a clear sunrise for Fuji, I would still recommend and just hope other guests are more courteous

Reviewed Apr 6, 2026Perfect stay for few days while exploring kawaguchiko. 5’ away from the station. Another 5’ walk to the lake. Clean and beautiful hotel.
The fact that hotel staff would come into our room to clean while we were having breakfast. I dont mind having them cleaning but may be with a permission from us would be nicer. They could let you know at the beginning that someone will come into the room to clean it up so we would be prepared and not get back to the room and find someone there who does not speak English.
