Fantastic gem of location in side the fort off Galle the staff are amazing and super attentive and the rooms really clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very good and should not be missed great start to your day of exploring the fort and surrounding areas 10/10

What a location to stay at in Galle! Right at the fort wall, near the water and the best eateries around. Although you wont need to have breakfast anywhere else because the breakfast at Prince of Galle is an experience in itself! Great staff, royal vibes!

It is beautifully decorated and in a really central location in the old fort.

lovely boutique hotel. Perhaps our room was slightly smaller than I hoped for but the hotel itself is just fantastic. Staff is incredible, always available for any request I had. DO NOT MISS the breakfast as it is delicious and prepared with such care.

Staff were amazing and very friendly - always felt very looked after. The breakfast was also incredible. Best place I have stayed in all of Sri Lanka!

Das Haus ist ein sehr schönes Haus aus der Kolonialzeit. Es ist super schön eingerichtet. Das Personal ist unglaublich engagiert und interessiert und kümmert sich sehr nett. Der Ice Tea schmeckt hervorragend und das Frühstück war wirklich gigantisch!

This hotel was so luxurious right from the moment we checked in to check out. The staff went the extra mile to make sure our stay was comfortable from our welcome iced tea (which was the nicest iced tea I had whilst in Sri Lanka) to the incredible five course breakfast and the coffee at our door from 0630 - we really could have have asked for much more. The bedroom was really clean and bed super comfortable. The little common room was a nice touch and the 360 view point at the room was really special.

Water heater hard to adjust , the water was too hot need to keep on adjusting and the cold water like not functioning.

Every tiny detail of this hotel is considered carefully. The welcome drink was prepared with love. The room was so cleverly designed with great attention to detail. The shower was unexpected and quite extraordinary. The breakfast was an experience I’ll never forget. Outstanding. Super friendly staff. This is a very special place with an intimate feel and quirky layout. Highlights were the morning coffee/tea on the balcony, with students from the school across the road waving hello, as well as cooling off in the pool, which felt like being in the jungle - absolutely magical, surrounded by  tropical plants.

The room was quite small. I was travelling alone, but I can imagine with two people's luggage it would be a bit cramped.

Amazing charming place , we were on our own. Felt like home. Best breakfast in my life with very chic crockery.

I love the ambience, the charm, its location and its fantastic breakfast.

A beautiful hotel inside an old colonial building. The rooms were lovely and the facilities were excellent. Shower pressure was particularly great. The staff were also amazing, going over and above to make our stay an excellent experience. The 5 course breakfast is a must-have!

It is fabulous experience to stay here. Special like for breakfasts, which was beautiful and tasty. Staff was always there to help us with anything.

The only problem was with water temperature adjustment in the bathroom. It was too hot or too cold.

The property was unique and different to anywhere we’ve stayed before. The decor was spectacular and each room carefully thought out.

Absolute fabulous stay and staff couldn't do enough to make us comfortable, especially Saranga . Well worth the visit . Their breakfasts, also know as the breagustation are locally famous .

Perfect end to our Sri Lanka trip, the staff were amazing and did everything they could to make our stay great. 10/10 location and breakfast.

This is a fun and stylish place, with lots of quirky pleasures including the degustation breakfast served on beautiful old plates, the thermos of tea delivered early to the bedroom door and the witty design throughout. If you get a good room the place is very comfortable. The staff are very helpful and friendly and there’s a real pride in the traditions the place is creating. The location near the end of the fort is lovely.

Our first ground floor room (queen studio) was both small and noisy - you could hear the kitchen, the cafe, the street. We were moved when we raised the issue and the first floor room was much nicer - even though it ran out of water mid morning and left us heading out without having had a shower. Other thing to note is that the plunge pool doesn’t really look plausible as a place to actually use - it’s about the same size as the fishpond next to it. If you want to cool off in a pool another place might be better.

Prince of Galle is a beautiful hotel in the middle of Galle Fort. The attention to detail, the hospitality, the rooms, the staff - everything made our 3 night stay one we will never forget. Special shoutout to Saringa, Geetha and Kapila for looking after us! The 5-course breakfast is an experience of its own. Thank you for a truly amazing time!

Beautiful colonial stylish converted stables inside the Fort . We liked the Welcome, (incredible ice tea) the exceptional breakfast (5 course “breagustation”) and the coffee tray outside the room. From the Morris Minor outside to the sunset on the roof terrace, it’s done with love. Rooms are compact but beautifully designed, very comfortable bed. It is a property full of eye candy and the perfect stay for the last 2 nights of a 3 wk holiday to get a colonial feel for Sri Lanka. I would love to stay again!

Dance music playing in the bar all day. It really ruined the vibe and was not fitting with the venue. It also made it difficult to sleep when resting in any of the downstairs rooms.

Prince of Galle Hotel was exceptional—beautifully decorated, spotless, and staffed by a team that was outstanding from the moment we checked in. Each morning began with tea and coffee served outside your room, followed by a five-course dégustation breakfast, which was a highlight of our stay. In the evenings, a grand piano played on the second level from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, creating an atmosphere that felt true to the hotel’s original glory days. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

I absolutely loved the whole design of this stay, such beautiful interiors and homely settings. No ask is ever too much for the attentive staff and it's tucked away peacefully just a short stroll from the main streets of Galle. The breakfast is a must, exceptional!

Stunning property in such relaxing surroundings. A welcome shady escape from the blistering heat of the streets of Galle. The best breakfast I had in Sri Lanka by a country mile.

I was a little too tall for my room! Wish they advertised their cosier rooms as being so.

Beautiful property with stunning courtyard restaurant in a ln art-deco building. But most importantly the true experience was the hotel’s staff. Everyone was incredibly nice and the food and drinks are seriously the best.

Location was perfect to explore the fort and walk around. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. I also got a room upgrade and the room was perfect, everything well thought out. Breakfast was AMAZING, I am still thinking about it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again if I was in Galle.

The staff is so attentive, sweet and kind. We were planning to stay one night, but ended up staying longer. The breakfast is served downstairs and is one of the best we ever had!

We stayed at Prince of Galle for two nights and the room was amazing- so clean and the bed was so comfortable. The staff were incredible and the breakfast was delicious! The staff were also so attentive with my wife’s nut allergy. They served us iced tea on arrival which was extremely refreshing after a long flight. The hotel is in walking distance to all the restaurants, bars and shops. Would highly recommend!

Great location inside Galle Fort, you can explore the entire fort easily on foot. The hotel staff offer warm hospitality and truly do their best to make you feel at home. They also offer a “Bregustation” which is an excellent selection of traditional Sri Lankan breakfast dishes and an absolute must‑try.

Although we enjoyed the stay, from our perspective it is overpriced compared to accommodation elsewhere in the country.

Wir hatten einen insgesamt wunderbaren Aufenthalt in diesem sehr schönen Stadthotel, das uns vor allem durch seine charmante Einrichtung und die angenehm ruhige, aber dennoch zentrale Lage begeistert hat. Schon beim Check-in fiel uns das überaus freundliche Personal auf, das den gesamten Aufenthalt sehr angenehm gestaltete. Der Welcomedrink war der beste den wir jemals hatten (Eistee) Ein echtes Highlight war das hervorragende Frühstück, das qualitativ absolut überzeugt hat und keine Wünsche offen ließ. Das Badezimmer war top modern und sauber. Für einen Kurztrip von einer Nacht ist das Haus aufgrund des Flairs und der tollen Atmosphäre definitiv zu empfehlen.

Ein paar kleine Abstriche mussten wir lediglich beim Schlafkomfort machen. Das Bett war für unser Empfinden leider nicht besonders bequem und bei der Sauberkeit der Bettbezüge (insbesondere im Kontrast zum Top Badezimmer) hätten wir etwas mehr Sorgfalt gewünscht. Zudem sollte man wissen, dass der Pool eher ein kleines Becken zur Erfrischung der Füße ist als ein Ort zum Schwimmen.

Beautiful hotel! The building is traditional and everything in the decoration was very thought out creating a unique atmosphere. We especially enjoyed having pasta and wine at the hotels balcony listening to live piano playing. The breakfast consisted of many dishes and was delicious as was the cinnamon tea on arrival. The staff were extremely attentive.
