This hotel was exceptionally close to Mount Fuji. It had a viewing area for you to take close-up pictures. The Onsen is a fantastic experience, especially the outdoor one. Rooms are a bit on the small side.
The hotel is cosy and classy The Onsen and happy hour are of good value and we really love it Breakfast was good The staff at check in reception Mr Wong from Hong Kong was exceptionally polite and gave us best service Help us to give him a good compliment We will be back again for sure
Here for 2 days, late March 2026. Titanium but couldn't book on points. Mediocre Marriott, great service, they gave us a Mt. Fuji view room with its own Onsen but it rained and was cold during our stay, the blossoms barely starting. Due to weather there was no view of Mt. Fuji and there really isn't anything to do in the area when the weather is like this. Just unfortunate timing on our part. There is no lounge but Platinum and Titanium can load up on so-so appetizers and you can take a bottle of even more so-so wine to the room during happy hour. Guest laundry machines available. Wish the weather had been better.
Huge rooms and western style accommodation
Prices for dining…eat out in the town
I recently stayed at the Fuji Marriott Hotel Lake Yamanaka and overall had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is nestled in a beautiful location near Lake Yamanaka, surrounded by nature and offering a peaceful atmosphere that’s perfect for a relaxing getaway. The room was clean, spacious, and well-appointed, and the service from the staff was consistently courteous and professional. However, the one major downside was the breakfast system. Breakfast is included in my reservation, but I was surprised to find that guests are required to book a specific time slot in advance. Unfortunately, I checked in later in the evening, and by then, all the convenient breakfast slots were already taken. This left me with either a very late option or none at all—neither of which worked for me, as I had an early departure the next morning. It's quite inconvenient, especially for travelers who need to leave early and would reasonably expect to make use of the included breakfast. I ultimately had to skip it altogether, which was disappointing. I hope the hotel considers offering more flexible breakfast arrangements in the future, or at least provides some form of alternative (like a takeaway option) for guests in similar situations.
Excelente hotel, location, service and ambiance
While the hotel is in a remote part, there were some good qualities that make the hotel a reasonable destination. The staff for the most part were helpful and friendly. They arranged for bike rentals. The restaurant is basically only available for breakfast which is an excellent breakfast. For food choices outside of that time, you have to walk a bit or find transportation. The public onsen was a definite plus as an amenity for the hotel. Even though we were Marriott Bonvoy Elite Status, the hotel did not particularly recognize nor acknowledge.
Setting was beautiful
Air con in room didn’t work, it was also way too noisy even though it was switched off. The onsen was also continuously running water, even with the tap screwed down hard which should have stopped the flow, this made it very difficult to get to sleep.
Worst Marriott we have ever stayed. Bare minimum amenity (only offer toothbrushes and towels) and outdated rooms. Most of the rooms have NO VIEW of the Fuji Mountain, except certain hot spring rooms. There is a HUGE pet cage in the Tatami room, so be aware if you don't like CAGES in your room. 90% of the menu is American continental and why would anyone wants to fly 14 hours to eat burgers and fries. Difficult to get around and it is far from all restaurants. Extremely disappointing hotel and it is not a 4 star!!
We are so glad that we book this hotel because it's not crowed with tourits (different from Lake Kawaguchi). The room is spacious, clean, bright, and equipped with everything a traveller needs. Hotel has two level of hot spring which they switch for men and women everyday so that everyone can enjoy different hot spring experience. It really help relaxing after a long day sightseeing. The night before we departed snowed heavily which make the view breathtaking when we woke up in the morning. Hotel staffs are very professional, friendly and helpful with all our needs and especially when the road was closed due to snow, they provide alternative routes for us to drive back to Tokyo safely and quickly. We will come back to stay here for sure next time when we visit Mt Fuji again.
This hotel was great, transportation was so bad that we ended up staying at hotel the whole time and staff was great, there are so many amenities. Food was good too. Room service was lovely, and the hotel had free shuttle which was a life saver.
I only stayed one night. Regret that I didn’t stayed longer. Wonderful place, clean, people friendly breakfast is more than good. This hotel is not good, but incredible. Highly recommend. Don’t stay only one night
The Fuji Marriott is secluded so having a car makes traveling a lot more pleasant. The service was excellent and it definitely stood out. The staff made some mistakes during check in (on our first day) and I believe they tried their best to make it right. We stayed 5 nights and the two things thing I didn’t like was the breakfast was the same all 5 days and the hotel couldn’t help me make reservations to external restaurants. I found it odd since we are not from Japan and didn’t speak the language. This is the first time I had a hotel not able to help me with restaurant reservations. Overall we had a lovely stay, the rooms were spacious. If those things can be changed, it would make the hotel even better. But we would still go back despite those things.
Quiet and will be convenient only if you drive. Rooms size are consider quite big.
Ok in general but it seemed like the staff there are not the most seasoned. The check in was unpleasant for me and I realised that I was not the only one who felt that way because my sister in law who checked in a few hours before me had the same less than pleasant experience that was not what we had come to expect of a Marriott establishment.
This is a lovely hotel with views of Mount Fuji. Its only drawback is that it's in a remote area without any local facilities. This means that it's quiet so you should sleep well. On the other hand food and drink are quite expensive. For example a pint of lager costs approximately 1,600 Yen (about £8) - so these are London prices! We ate here on both of our two nights and the food was delicious. The rooms are a great size, spotlessly clean and had comfortable beds. Service was good and we had a good stay. The best views of Mount Fuji are from the 4th floor landing. Recommended.
A really good hotel for those who are with a car and do not mind the relatively secluded location. Hotel was slightly dated visually but very well maintained and visibly renovated in certain parts. The room with the private onsen was a real treat - clean, comfortable and huge. Can highly recommend :) Breakfast was very very good too.
Thank you for making it special for our 30th wedding anniversary celebration The hotel is fantastic and well worth the travel from Tokyo The lake was very nice to walk around plus the boat trip with good views of Mount Fuji Room was large and loved the onsen in the room
Nothing
Too old
The room was very spacious and clean. The hotel is in a very nice wooed area. The staff was excellent. Very very friendly and helpful.
Quiet and clean place.
From outside the hotel doesn’t look at all appealing but overall the stay is highly rated from the hardware of the hotel despite being dated and the software that is service of the staff at the hotel. As I was driving which is a must if you are staying at the hotel , one of the staff actually came to the open space car park to help with the luggages which is a plus point but could do better if they offered to bring the luggages to the room. During check in everything was explained very clearly including that in the absence of the executive lounge, they do offer refreshment kit which is served from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The refreshment set is actually a bento set with a wide range of food but because it was taken from the fridge it doesn’t taste good at all. However what is worth mentioning are the drinks which included alcohol and was given a full bottle of white wine, very nice gesture . Due to location of the hotel , I had dinner at one of the night and the semi buffet is great with the beef curry worth mentioning. Breakfast serving is also a good spread with very attentive staff. Room wise though the room is dated is very well maintained and as in most Japanese hotel top notch cleanliness . Since the hotel is located far off from city , room is very huge.
The property is very secluded. We stayed here two nights and it was a long 2-hour bus ride (one way) to the Kawaguchiko Station area. The service was great and they were helpful, although the morning staff did not speak English. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant because there isn’t anything walkable nearby. The food was ok. There were large tour buses at our hotel and I would describe the food like what you’d get at a wedding or cruise, where they cook for the masses. The rooms were clean, modern and spacious.
Everything, the staff, the food, the location& the courtesy bus was excellent.
Hard to find fault really
Overall acceptable but not best
The hotel is in a secluded place where you need your own transport Checked in late evening in a comfortable room with minimal time thanks to Bhandari who was very hands on The Onsen is worth a visit the Hot Spring really relaxes you The vegetarian options on the buffet is limited and we were given special treatment and served vegetarian fresh noodle soup, Sushi, Avocados, Awesome Strawberries and the next day Vegetarian Fried Rice, and other goodies with Almond Flakes Even the serving staff from Nepal were very friendly & helpful Thank You Bhandari and Chef Murakami
Hotel staff are very friendly and polite. The room is spacious and comfortable. A Place for relaxation.
Located in the middle of no where. No restaurant nearby. Closest convenient store(lawson) is about 400 meters away. The hotel is a little pricey compared to its location.
Hot spring
Not easy to go but require driving
Booked 2 nights in the Yamanakako area of Fuji on the way to Osaka. Upgraded to a top floor onsen king room with my Titanium elite status. This hotel is a bit off the beaten path, but if you have a rental car, like we did, or coming with a travel group, like many we saw who stayed at the hotel, you’re in for a treat. As a Marriott elite, prepare to be spoiled. I already mentioned the room upgrade. Well, you also get unlimited alcoholic beverages in the evening, and every day you are entitled to a “snack box” for each individual in your group. Check out the photos of the list of amenities as well as photos of the box. It’s basically an entire meal. The in room onsen only has room from 1 person, but it’s included in the shower, so it’s super convenient. Everything in the room was super modern, clean, and comfortable. The gym is in the basement, and is small but functional. Breakfast was a full buffet standard in Japan (noodles, miso, tofu, and an omelette/egg station). Everything met expectations. Overall, everyone was super friendly and polite. Service was great. The best part…for 2, our upgraded room was around ¥18,500, or $125 USD. Including tax! You can’t beat the value! Definitely planning to come back to Mount Fuji in the summer and would love to stay here again.
Friendly efficient staff. Nice size rooms but small bathroom. Vending machines on each floor for drinks but no food except ice cream. The restaurant is buffet style. If you walk out to the road you can get a nice photo of Mt Fuji...also possible from the fourth floor.
When I arrived, I had lost my JR Rail Pass in Tokyo. The hotel clerks called Tokyo and was able to locate it. I don’t think I could have done it because of my poor Japanese language. This was a miracle and I truly appreciate their efforts and patience.
Not a lot to like it was just a hotel that was flash but without any substance.
The lighting in the room was rubbish. It was all style, but no substance. You couldn’t see the room overall. The worst thing, and this was terrible. I’m a vegetarian, poor me! Went down to the restaurant. They brought out a vegan menu, not even a vegan, would he eat it? It was absolute rubbish. You’d think Hotel of this quality would have something in the freezer. They could just pull out and tart up and slap it on a plate. The staff were attentive. Very attentive may be over attentive, very good at helping me get the bags out of the car, but when it was time to leave, maybe I gave them the bad vibe, not a soul in sight to help! I don’t normally go with this chain I go with another chain which has several levels of hotels, ranging from the basic to the flash…
The scenery from my room, overseeing the trees of autumn. Bed was comfortable The staff were very polite and helpful
My parents room - looking at the carpark. They were only given 1 bottle of mineral water - for 2 days.
We loved it here. The room was HUGE. Beautiful grounds and Fuji views. Serene. Spacious. Calming. We decided on this Fuji area hotel because they offer rooms with private onsen. The location is a bit remote (nothing really within walking distance, unless you want to walk in traffic), but isn’t that the point of a spa resort? The hotel has a lovely restaurant and it was super easy getting off property via taxi (or Marriott shuttle bus).
Marriott staff welcomed us at the curb side. Check in was painless and soon we were off to our room. In room hot springs was a pleasant touch. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Even the Japanese pillows were soft and cozy. The food was top notch and catered to every taste. We opted for the dinner package—well worth the money. After dinner we rang for a late night massage…should have rethought that one. Asked for two therapist and got one. She had no clue what a massage was! Seriously!!! She literally poked at me with her finger tips. The pushed my head agains the pillow for ten minutes. Finally was had enough and she was dismissed with her full pay. Noted, she was not affiliated with the hotel, she was merely the lady they called. Please never call her again! Loved the hotel and the view. A must for anyone wanting a quiet getaway.
Our stay at the Marriott Lake Yamanaka was an epitome of luxury and comfort. Nestled by the serene lake, the ambiance was tranquil yet invigorating. We stayed in a suite which was spacious, elegantly furnished, and boasted a breathtaking view of the majestic Mount Fuji across the tranquil lake. The service was impeccable, with a warm and attentive staff ensuring a seamless experience. The private onsen was a soothing retreat, and the culinary offerings were a delightful excursion for our taste buds. This haven is a perfect blend of luxury, nature, and exemplary service. A memorable retreat we can't wait to revisit!
Breakfast was good. Room was clean and modern. Road in is a little dark at night but that's to be expected in that area. Not much of a view but plenty of fresh clean air as it's surrounded by trees. Paperless checkout would have been nice. Japanese hotels love to print out a bill on A4
It is a nice resort hotel on uphill from Lake Yamanaka. The location was a bit isolated that my rental car GPS couldn't find it, but luckily my phone GPS was fine. The service was in general pretty good. The restaurant offered excellent semi-buffet dinner and buffet breakfast, which was essential in an isolated location. A plus point is the coined laundry that was helpful to my family. It is a nice and modern resort hotel that you can have a view of Mount Fuji.
Stayed for two nights in this very pretty, hidden gem. The rooms are quite spacious and there was a hot spring bath in out upgraded room. The common hot spring is also worth mentioning. There is also twice a day a direct bus to Mt Fuji station from where you can reach the Mt Fuji. We also used the shuttle to town which goes on demand from the hotel. Message to hotel management: please remove the ugly notices from the elevators and hallways, it destroys the perfect ambiance.
Fuji view Good stuff Know english
The brackfast and the dinner very expensive And no near stores like 7 eleven near the hotel Go get to store need go to the bus
Onsen in the room, very large and clean room, very comfortable bed and was able to see Mt Fuji from the room.
Can't think of anything that I didn't like
fantastic facilities, very helpful and friendly staff. delicious a la carte meals. Private onsen in each room with continual hot water was a highlight!
location was a little remote. if you could hire bicycles, it would be helpful.
Tudo perfeito.
We stayed 3 nights there . In general the hotel is clean, spacious and nice with hot spa. Breakfast also good with wide variety. However there is only 1 restaurant which not much selection
Great location near Yamanaka lake with spectacular views of Fuji-san! Friendly staff and great room service. Thanks!
Private Onsen in the room was awesome, good location for day-trips, very kind staff
Private onsen in the room is great. It is better if there is a view of Mt. Fuji at the same time with the onsen. 🙂
The bathroom is small. The entrance to the bathroom is not level with the rest of the room
Difficult location to reach. Need a professional bartender
Forget about the view of the hotel and pls do not advertise being see my fuij which is not and some of the room is facing the cabbage dumb and they show other room for me and it has food on the floor. And the onsen is not full time for people to stay only few hours per day!! So hard to come across our family holiday with granny and grand children together, it was not too nice!
Great hotel with nice hot springs, but make sure you stay in the FUJI mountain side of room. It’s great shame to be there but miss it.
Staying with this hotel the second time. The best hotel I have ever stayed throughout my travels. The room is huge and spacious. Furthermore, the daily room service is top notch and a lot of effort can be seen put into it. The breakfast is full of variety and delicious. Highly recommended place to stay if you drive.
Excellent stay here with my family in early Jan - Lots of lovely countryside to explore especially the lake. Pros - Excellent Staff in Restaurant as well as hotel itself, free shuttle down to the lake, free saki at NY. Cons - very small bathroom, beds are futons and very hard in some cases. long wait for breakfast in morning and log wait to check-in. Needs to be an airport shuttle as well - we had to pay exorbitant private car costs to airport - Otherwise would stay again, great views of Mount Fuji and great location.
Modern, clean, comfortable, spacious (especially for Japan), and well appointed rooms. We were upgraded and our room included a private onsen -- highly recommended! The property is a little far from the town so its best if you have a car. We will stay there again for our next visit.
Excellent resort surrounded by greenery. Large, modern, neat and tidy public bath with sauna and open air bath. Service was excellent - they sent us a complimentary slice of cake at midnight for my wife's birthday. Highly recommended for those who do not need to stay right next to the lake.
The staff was very good and helpful. They saw us with young kids and helped with our suitcases. Room is new and clean :) There were 4 of us and the hotel only prepared 2 futons in the evening. We had to prepare 2 futon beds ourselves every night, when we are back in our room.
Amazing hotel. Big room ,clean bedsheets , new facilities. Breakfast is amazing, many janpanese style foods. The dinner was more like western two courses set menu, a little bit disappointing because we was expecting Japanese style half board dinner . But the food and staff are still very good Anyway nice hotel, strong recommended
Rooms themed like Muji. Minimalistic but good quality, mattress a little on the hard side. About 2 km from lake front. Pretty much the only western (or even Japanese) chain hotel for miles. Yamanakako is the closest lake to Mt Fuji, great views and easily reachable to Hakone and Gotemba. Good breakfast.
Hard to get and hard to get out, but overall very nice environment and good service. Good for a relax hideout.
Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Loved the hot-tub in the room and the onsen while small had essential needs. Lacking some amenities: no ice machine for chilling drinks, limited vending machine options. No mini-store. Parking is very limited and something the hotel staff admitted they are working on. Breakfast was fantastic. Table tennis was fun but could have used some music or other supporting features to make more lively.
