Reviewed Jul 17, 2022At the last minute my flight was cancelled. Hotel GMS refused to refund ANY of my money. Yes, there was a cancellation policy, but there should be some leniency for circumstances beyond an individual’s control. I would understand if they needed to keep some of it, but they kept over $1,000. That is unethical.

The location of the hotel is extremely close to the subway (only a minute or 2 walk) and is surrounded by plenty of restaurants and cute shops. Overall, great location in the downtown area of Seoul My only complaint is that the hotel staff are overly strict with certain requests. For example, I booked the wrong room type and asked to be upgraded to another room type, but they charged me an extra 120 Canadian dollars for that. They also charged me more for a late checkout that I requested since my plane left early in the day. Overall, this hotel has to be one of the cleanest I have been in, along with the great location and amenities I will continue to stay here!

Reviewed Jan 17, 2019It was clean and comfy - exactly what I was looking for. The only downside is that it took awhile for them to retrieve our car from their parking service. Other than that, check in was quick, the room was clean, and the environment was great.

Reviewed Dec 30, 2018I stayed for a business trip four nights at this hotel, which is located at the front of Yeongdeungpo Station. It takes no more than five minutes from the station by walk even carrying heavy luggage. Hotel building is well recognized at front of the station. GMS means Good Morning Seoul. Yes, it was real Good Morning. It seems newly opened. At the back side of hotel, there are so many kinds of Korean restaurants serving every sort of Korean cuisine. It is very helpful for strangers to eat something even late night. Breakfast is served at B1 floor restaurant from 7:30am. Dishes are composed of Western and Korean foods. It is not a kind of luxury but no disappointment. However, the Chef was very nice. Room is spacious and has facilities and amenities. One of specific is air cleaner, that is very kind one for a heavy dust, bad weather in Seoul. The control of temperature and lighting is so easy. Closet is doorless. The internet condition is good. I didn’t use the equipped PC but my own laptop. One of my peer used another room and PC said the function is not so good. The equipped lightning cable did not work. Front Desk staffs were kind enough. Overall, cost effectiveness is very good. If I visit Yeongdeungpo again, I will stay again surely.

When i call the hotel for reservation, they said you can’t reserve as the phone call. But, when i enter the hotel, other people check-in by phone call reservation. So, I ask them, why you said to me you can’t give the reservation through phone call. They said it’s my mind. So bad system. First, they said they have delux room but, i complain about the system suddenly they didn’t have the room. It has an arbitrary hotel management system. I complained about that The boss spat at me. It's not worth calling a hotel.

Reviewed Apr 16, 2018GMS served as a suitable base for a weekend of baseball at Jamsil, Gochoek, and Munhak stadiums. The building looks to be of recent construction or renovation so isn’t yet dirty or worn out. Room space is far more than I was expecting in a densely populated Asian urban center. In Hong Kong or Tokyo rooms at this price usually require opening your suitcase on your bed as there is almost zero free floor space. Comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, nice sized bath tub, clean linen, fast and reliable wi-fi. Problems included cleaning staff not properly restocking the room (we had to call for bath robes every night but the first), over one hundred Korean language TV channels but no BBC, CNN, or any other English news channel, and front desk staff with only the most rudimentary English skills and no ability or desire to field inquiries in English. When I asked if there was a bank nearby where I could exchange foreign currency, the answer was “No.” In fact, there is. More than one. The front desk staff either didn’t understand or didn’t want to be bothered. In this case it’s a matter, I suppose, of getting what you pay for and management isn’t much concerned with non-Korean custom. If I needed to stay in the area again, I wouldn’t mind using GMS.

Reviewed Nov 21, 2017The staff is nice and friendly, but it's difficult to communicate as I don't know korean. It took 1 hr to complete the check in because they mixed up my name with another guest, however, our name is totally different. Moreover, there's no free shuttle bus service to airport, I think the hotel should correct this piece of information. I stayed for 6 nights, it's clean and comfortable, the hotel location is fantastic, it's close to Yeongdeungpo station, Lotte department store, times square and Yeongdeungpo shopping centre, many restaurants downstairs.

Reviewed Sep 3, 2017This hotel is very new and it is very beautiful. There is a cafe on the second floor that is just amazing. My room was very clean, very large and had its own computer and wifi. There was a bag full of things anyone could need, like toothbrushes, soap, shower caps and lotions, so there was no need to initially buy these things. Everything, and I mean everything, could be controlled by this touch screen controller by the bed. All the lights and the air conditioning could be adjusted by the touch of a button and that was very helpful. This area has so many choices of food and shopping so there was never a shortage of things to do. The staff that I had contact with were always nice and reacted very quickly to any questions or concerns I had. I read there was a shuttle to the airport but I chose not to take advantage of this. The TV in the room was huge and new. I liked that staff left three bottles of bottled water every morning, instead of the usual two. I really enjoyed this hotel and would like to stay here again.

Reviewed Aug 29, 2017I never visited korea and this was out first destionation, I'll make it short and crispy so you can decide + good view (7th level) + good room design + multifuctional toilet + you got a lotte department store and the times square mall right around the corner - location is not that good, it took forever to get there from incheon airport and everywhere else in seoul - for some reason the staff decided to use the vacuum at 3am in the morning which prevented us from sleeping - you cant sleep with an open window on weekends because you will hear kpop all night - normal value for money I got a bit picky so I would not choose this one again
