Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The hotel was excellent, very comfortable, sparkling clean and wonderful situation. Room 26 looked over the green and the sea and could not have had a better view. It was also close to shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay there again.
A lift would have been good but obviously in a building that old not practical. We were offered a hand with our case as on the 2nd floor. A very small price to pay for such a brilliant hotel.
Clean and tidy
Great staff. Clean. Superb location.
Close to the beach and facilities. Beautiful hotel and lovely friendly staff.
The location was perfect, decor was top notch.
The price of drinks were very expensive so went to other establishments for food & drink which was a shame.
Location
Location. Staff very friendly Food reasonably priced but drinks expensive
I feel the room was expensive. I think because Eric Clapton should have been in concert prices were hicked.
Bar, dining room, seaviews, food.
5 flights of stairs
Breakfast was excellent staff very polite
Great location & with car parking available it was ideal
Would have liked breakfast included in room rate - £18 was expensive on top of price paid for accommodation
The friendly helpful staff. The perfect location
I would have liked to have been offered a seaview room
Room was nice and clean, shower was super.
Windows were a little difficult to adjust as quite old.
Location
Clean, Staff lovely, food excellent
The only bad point I can say was NO lift and we were on the top floor with a 2 yr old. No staff to help with bags suitcase. We had room 24 and it said hang towels up but no where to hang them.
We liked everything about this hotel, from the staff to the food and the room. Everything was amazing.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
Location
Tea and coffee not equipped
Location
Nothing
It was ok
The way the kitchen staff swore, it was not nice to hear the kitchen staff swear out side the back, we paid 180 to stay for 1 night, the room was very small over looking the back of the kitchens, and the chefs or kitchen staff, were clearly not happy with the customers!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant at night and had breakfast the next day and the food was superb. Our room was clean, quiet and we had a lovely sea view. Would recommend.
We weren’t able to park at the hotel, although we parked nearby at Sainsbury’s so not too bad really.
Perfect location, newly refurbished - Giles on reception is a superstar:)
I would prefer the buffet Breakfast liked they used to do - or at least be able to choose cereals and fruit etc to start with .
Nice reception staff, room was clean and comfortable, shower room brilliant comfy and nice
The location was excellent
All was good
Good breakfast. Not the cheapest, but very well prepared.
A little confusion with the staff. I thought they said that they would be over to take the order. Waited a while, then had to go up & was told to order from the bar. Possibly my fault. However, the food was good.
Room was stunning with an exceptional view of the Sea, very large bathroom and an amazing mattress
Would have preferred smaller cups in the room for my morning coffee, instead of Mugs, however this is just petty and personal preference
Schöne Lage über dem Meer...ideal für Zwischenstopp...wir waren nur eine Nacht
I don’t have breakfast. Loved the bathroom and the shower.
I find that everything was good. Found there was a light on the glass in the?
Free parking at the front of the hotel available on arrival. Warm welcome.
The fact that we book through booking.com you had to pay for breakfast. If you booked directly it was included on the price.
Clean rooms. The showers .The location the staff were very efficient and welcoming
The food Both of our evening meals were very disappointing and were sent back to the kitchen we were not charged for them.Basically the meals were very tired looking and looked to have been kept warm for too long so were dried up Not at all appetising my husbands chicken was pink in places although we were reassured it was cooked it was not good We declined breakfast on the basis of this experience
The location
The room wasn’t with the money was kept awake by next door that might as well have been in my room I could hear everything and the bathroom smelt like drainage
Friendly staff, clean, comfortable, good size rooms. Amazing food!
Would benefit from air conditioning
Good location meals very expensive breakfast wether small or big still £18
Cottage room very hot need more ventilation
Lovely big fluffy towels. The slight vintage feel with beautiful fabrics for new upholstery.
Mains are priced as you would expect for a quality restaurant. But some of the portions seemed mean. I had the beetroot and goats cheese starter (£11). The ingredients were lovely but there was a very small amount of beetroot (the cheapest ingredient). The chef wasn't willing to add any. Check your portion sizes if you're bothered about that sort of thing.
Very well maintained and very comfortable rooms - lovely bathrooms, comfortable beds
One of our rooms was lovely and spacious, beautifully styled but had no view out of anything - just frosted windows - fortunately other family members had views ranging from À courtyard to a delightful sea view so we could spend time in there
Location excellent didn't stay for breakfast
Hotel bit haggle tipiggity but that is also its charm
Location and ground floor facilities bar restaurant area
Very small standard room
Great situation clean
Not able to park at site
Very pleasant staff, clean and comfortable room. Great location
The annexe we stayed in was excellent, ultra modern bathroom and very comfortable
Quite a distance to walk to the main entrance, especially if the weather was bad . Also didn’t expect to pay extra for breakfast after paying £1400 for a week.
Location was excellent, sea view from bedroom was great plus hotel was clean as were daily cleaning of bedroom, bed was very comfortable along with linen and towels, liked the shutters on windows.
Waiting over half an hour first morning for a staff member to take order, then i had to actually get up and find someone to place our order when it did arrive it was wrong. Big crack in washbasin in ensuite, water from shower was not a constant temperature, should install shower cubicles and get rid of the bath,no lift, evening menu wasn't appetising. Parking out the front was appalling, plus had to move the car for an event at hotel, had to find a car park, where it was expensive.
Nice refurb, staff lovely, food good although breakfast is a bit pricey for what it is. Wouldn’t have avocado and poached eggs again which I usually love. Chefs tip: go easy on the chilli oil next time, once it’s in you can’t scrape it off, it was smothered and couldn’t taste the food! Fish and chips was delicious!
Nothing apart from breakfast being disappointing as per above
The room was a family size room with a double and single bed and l was a single occupant.
Lovely room, excellent food, staff friendly and polite, beautiful across The Wash. When we arived we found we were on the 2nd floor. Due to disability I couldn't do that. No problem! Reception showed us another room on the ground floor which was obviously of a better standard and gave us that room at the same price.
Paying for parking.
Parking
The view when you walk out the door
Room was large, bed was nice. Very modern and decorated nicely. Large TV
Only one window attached to the door, got very hot on a day that was around 20degrees. No curtain or blind to stop light coming through in the morning. No breakfast or parking included in price of 220 - overpriced.
Food was good, loved the location, staff always so pleasant and helpful. Rooms lovely clean and good facilities.
Nothing to dislike
Location good, overlooking the sea. Staff fine. Lovely garden with tables. Right in the centre of town.
We had a sea view room (23) and were disappointed. It did have a sea view, but the room was VERY small, and we had to move the armchair into the bathroom so we could get round the bed! But the main problem was the window. This was on one of the hottest days of the year, and the room was facing the sun. The windows were locked and could only be opened 3 inches, so we couldn’t get a breeze. The hotel quoted ‘health and safety’ reasons and could do anything about it. So we had a fan going full blast all night, simply blowing hot air around the room. Maybe not their fault, but nevertheless not a nice experience.
The Hotel, really you couldn't fault, brilliant location and really nice staff. I have only a couple of niggles, the car park outside the hotel isn't owned by them and it's full all the time as it's free to anybody, they have a residents car park but Charged at £8 a day. My room was clean and a very nice bed and pillows, the only but, is my room number 22 top floor, lovely view of the sea has a tiny TV and it's impossible to see any description of TV channels. I mentioned to the staff when leaving and they said that particular room is to be updated. All in a very nice place and had a great night's rest. Happy!
As mentioned, TV is too small and parking facilities are not included in the cost of your stay.
N/A
The shower in the room was excellent but my only concern was there was no body wash just shampoo and conditioner attached to the shower wall. The body.wash was at the sink some 10ft away. Other than that everything in the room was very good.
The room was OK although it was probably meant for single occupancy
Room was small for two people
Location is very central and ideal for walking to all attractions nearby. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. The hotel bar and restaurant were very welcoming. The room was very comfortable, quiet and clean.
Bathroom was great! View was good too! Comfy bed Fan and hairdryer - great!
Fridge far too small for anything! Wardrobe and chest were dated and well used!
ALL OK
PARKING CHARGE
a quiet attic room
a larger room
Location, standard and cleanliness of the rooms either great sea views
The stairs! I was ok but my 83 year old Mum struggled a bit and we were located on the 2nd floor and the 2nd tier of stairs was steeper than the first!
Much improved.
Nothing.
Very convenient location for seafront, restaurants and cafes. Had car park. Staff very professional and friendly. Bed linen and bathroom very clean. Nice decor generally. Sea view. Room was cool in heatwave, had fan.
Noise from seagulls and people outside drinking was very loud. It was fine for me to access bed from one side as I was staying alone, but if 2 guests wanted to access both sides of the bed they would have to remove armchair and chest of drawers from the room that blocked off access to the other side of the bed. The carpet could do with a shampoo.
Location fabulous so close to town centre and amusements. The decor beautiful, rooms and beds comfortable much attention to detail for clients comfort. Food fantastic, great views. Staff so attentive and helpful. We had a great stay, thank you everyone see you next year.
For my husband and I there was nothing to dislike.
Lovely location overlooking the sea, all the staff were very pleasant & helpful. Both breakfast & evening meal were very good, we stayed in a room in the courtyard which seemed newly refurbished & was both very clean & decorated beautifully
As we stayed while we were experiencing a heatwave (temperature reached 39 degrees) although there was a ceiling fan + a tower fan in our room we really needed air conditioning.
Location
Spacious bed
Location
The working of the TV.
The location was partially good as we were going to the Princess Theatre. The hotel was lovely with friendly efficient staff. The shower was a little weak but we still got clean so all good
The shower temperature fluctuated
So central and if you don't mind striking when hot the parking is free and very close.
No ac but we knew that before we booked but it was 35 outside.
Location, view, and staff
The room - we weren’t aware we had booked one of the rooms which hadn’t yet been upgraded It was rather scruffy!
Everything, very clean and welcoming
That we had to go home !
The views were excellent the hotel commands a prominent position overlooking the sea.
No air conditioning very stuffy when temperatures are high and because of the standing regulations the windows can only be opened so far limiting air circulation a fan was supplied which allowed some air circulation.
Lovely bedroom and very comfy bed
No designated parking for resident
Proximity to the town, sea.
Could have done with mini fridge & bottled water. Not enough car parking places, had to park 1/2 mile away, I had rang to reserve spot a few days in advance but they were already full.
Central location, right near the theatre and a stones throw from the sea. All the team were pleasant, polite and very helpful. The room was clean with a sea view, the bed was a little snug for a double but we still managed a good nights sleep. En-suite bathroom was clean and well stocked. Bar area very good, open to non residents and it had a good vibe.
If I was being picky size of t.v was very small. Not enough car parking, but credit tothe hotel they contacted me prior to arrival and informed me it was full and gave me alternative options. Note to self, pre book a parking space on next visit.
Location and character
Room had no windows…..
excellent room and location
Small breakfast absolutely fine and adequate and £25 incl tea better value than £40 for the full monty in the restaurant.
A lift! As a couple with a gammy hip (him) and breathing problems (me) a lift would have been better than climbing four lots of stairs!
View from the dining room out to the sea
If your room is in the courtyard rooms you don’t feel part of the hotel because you have to walk outside and round to the front of the building which is not too good when it’s raining most of the time.
The room and bathroom has been upgraded to a high standard. Excellent shower, tasteful room, comfortable bed. Plenty of wardrobe space. Hotel was quiet at night.
Free parking was all taken on arrival, so used the hotel residents car park, which is £8/day extra. The price of the hotel was already high compared to the local competition of equal standard and included parking and breakfast. Breakfast was not a buffet, and everything was ordered off the menu and all individually priced. Sunday breakfast in hotels are always timed for a leisurely start for their guests. Here the breakfast finished an hour earlier than on the other days at 9:45, presumably to give more time to prepare for the lunch service. Not client focussed. The Classic room was small.

Really lovely
Nothing
Room was beautiful, very modern, extremely clean, and well equipped. Our room was so quiet and peaceful.
The room was a bit pricey for a 3 star hotel especially as parking and breakfast were extra. Breakfast also had everything individually priced and you have to pay extra for toast and tea/coffee as they weren't included. If you had fruit juice, cereals and yoghurt they were individually priced so would have cost about £30 for a breakfast.
Very comfy bed and pillows. Excellent location for all facilities. And good views over the sea.
We have stayed here before and been a very pleasant stay.
Service was alittle slow
Great location close to beach, shops and restaurants. Our room was sea facing with spectacular sunsets.Secure private parking.
The room we booked was expensive and we were a bit disappointed that you would need to pay extra for a fridge.
Excellent premises with very good staff. I will return.
All great
Beautiful building and location. Staff were lovely and bar, restaurant and outside areas were great.
We came when it was very hot and there was no AC and the windows were very restricted with only 1 small fan available for cooling
Location
Parking limited
Everything was brilliant the best hotel I have stayed at by far
Very quiet at night. Felt safe going out. Staff excellent.
Location
Parking crap No mini bar
Greeted by welcoming staff, very helpful and polite. Room was absolutely wonderful, beautiful view, clean, great amenities. Bathroom was also beautifully refurbed. Had breakfast the next morning again with a wonderful view and tasted delicious!
Parking is a little bit hit and miss, due to limitations. Managed to get a spot after a loop around. Just can’t guarantee a spot on site. Staff were very helpful to provide alternative parking places, just were all full due to being on the beach front.
