Die Lage des Hotels ist wunderschön, die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Aussicht beim ausgiebigen FrühstückIch ist traumhaft. würde das Hotel sehr gerne wieder besuchen.

Die Lage ist wunderschön und bietet eine tolle Aussicht. Zudem ist das Personal ausgesprochen freundlich, aufmerksam und stets bemüht, den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten.

Unser erstes Zimmer war leider eine Katastrophe. Es roch extrem stark nach altem Fett und Küchengerüchen, außerdem war es im Zimmer unerträglich warm. Der Grund dafür war die Küchenlüftung direkt unterhalb des Fensters, durch die der gesamte Geruch der Küche in unser Zimmer geblasen wurde. Auch das Öffnen des Fensters brachte keine Abhilfe – im Gegenteil, dadurch wurde der Geruch sogar noch schlimmer. Um zumindest etwas gegen die Hitze zu unternehmen, wollte ich den im Zimmer vorhandenen Ventilator einschalten. Dieser war allerdings derart verschmutzt, dass man ernsthaft Angst haben musste, sich durch die aufgewirbelte Luft krank zu machen. Nachdem wir uns beschwert hatten, wurde uns zwar ein anderes Zimmer angeboten, allerdings erst ab dem folgenden Tag. Die Nacht in diesem Zimmer war eine Zumutung und ist mir bis heute äußerst unangenehm in Erinnerung. Das neue Zimmer war zwar geruchlich deutlich besser, dafür jedoch das kleinste Hotelzimmer, das ich jemals gesehen habe. Das Doppelbett war lediglich 1,40 m breit, was für zwei Personen äußerst beengt ist. Besonders enttäuschend finde ich außerdem, dass Hotelgäste für die Nutzung des Spa-Bereichs zusätzlich bezahlen müssen. Wenn ein Hotel mit einem Spa wirbt, erwarte ich persönlich, dass dessen Nutzung im Übernachtungspreis enthalten ist – insbesondere bei dem ohnehin hohen Preis, den man für die Ausstattung des Hotels bezahlt. Insgesamt haben wir es regelrecht vermieden, in unser Zimmer zurückzukehren. Dadurch wurde unser Aufenthalt an diesem ansonsten wunderschönen Ort erheblich beeinträchtigt. Trotz der schönen Lage und des freundlichen Personals kann ich das Hotel aufgrund dieser Erfahrungen leider nicht weiterempfehlen.

Cups and glasses in the room were dirty and the spa was out of action on the Sunday, one of the main reasons we booked this hotel.

The location was stunning looking over the ocean. Lovely walk to the local swimming beach and cafe.

The room had no air-conditioning or fan. It was dated and the bathroom tiles were moldy.

We paid £10 each for the spa spent a couple of hours in there we came back out for lunch with the intention of going back in ,to be told then by staff that there would be an extra charge to go back in. There was no one else in the spa, thought this a bit unfair.

This felt like a step back into the 70's. It's a hotel that has stayed locked firmly into the old expectations of 'English seaside hotel' and not kept up with the where the rest of the hotel industry currently is. Broken lift, uneven floors, musty smelling rooms and shower with very low water pressure. In addition, I am disabled and I had been informed the lift was broken before going. In emails, I was told there was a stair lift and that it was only two flights of 7 steps to my room. When I got there, the stair lift could only be activated by someone else and it was actually 26 steps and I had to be helped up and down the stairs by the staff (which they did very well). So much for independent living

Position of hotel very good except for parking. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food. View from hotel patio was the only good one.

The lift was broken and had been for sometime, but I was not made aware of that until I arrived.. On arrival I informed them I would be using the spa on the Sunday. I was informed on Sunday that I could not because the ceiling had fallen down.. Although I was informed parking would be on a first come first served basis I did not expect to have to park on a street nearly half a mile away. I was promised a walk in shower because I am disabled, but I expected it to be larger than a telephone box !. No alternative was available. The bathroom itself was very small and in such poor condition, with sealant peeling off, rust on metal work. Shower leaking. Two tiny bins in room. Neither with a lid on.

Fantastic location with helpful happy staff

We were advised we had been upgraded to a club room but we were in the basement with the cleaning rooms. Lovely views of the garden but a tired room. We had paid extra for this stay in Torquay but was not a premium hotel. Lovely breakfast which catered for gluten free.

Hotel was very welcoming and comfy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were cosy, with a decent tv and cosy bed. Nice Location, and the spa facilities were very reasonably priced.

My only complaint was the service in the restaurant let the weekend down. Staff were friendly and polite, however: - wait between courses was long. I think we waited almost 45 minutes between started and main. - when food was bought to us, it was placed on the table but we were not asked if we wanted any drinks or condiments.

The location was wonderful, beautiful views of the ocean and a wonderful trail leading along the coast from the hotel into city center

The lifts were broken, the whole spa was out of commission due to a leak and there were stains on the carpet throughout the whole hotel

Booked a sea view room, (173) which didn't disappoint. The room we were allocated was huge with a bay window and super king size bed. There was plenty of storage space and a kettle and hospitality tray. We chose their 10% off in the bar offer so didn't have any housekeeping or towel change during our stay, but reception was more than happy to supply all the sundries which are usually replaced daily. Breakfast was plentiful and the staff were constantly topping up the buffet so everything was hot and didn't sit too long on the hotplates.

We couldn't think of anything we didn't like, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Headland Hotel and if was closer to where we live we would rebook another stay.

The location was very disappointing it is high in the hills very steep not suitable for mobility problems, it’s very quiet. There was only one lift and it was out of order. ☹️

Lovely location overlooking sea view, a little out of the way from the centre and up hills but worth it. Very relaxing stay - nice bar area and terrace relaxed setting. Bedrooms clean. All staff were friendly and accommodating.

Bedroom was a little hot , hotel had put fan in the room to try to neutralise this…which did help.

Although the hotel markets itself as a SPA, access to these services is severely restricted (due to inconvenient and limited operating hours. In the end, I wasn't able to visit it. ) and comes at an extra cost. There is another SPA hotel nearby that I visited a year ago where everything was far better and the price was lower. I am deeply disappointed by this contrast.

Did not get the sea view rooms i booked. Excuse given was very poor with no follow up ! Given very small room at back of hotel. Very tired, all furniture was marked beds were awful , bathroom very very small . Shower cubicle tiny. And shower heads need replacing . Did not offer a bottle of water in room . Guests have to pay extra to use spa facilities .

The location was lovely, staff were friendly if not a little disorganised

Our room had the kitchen extractor below the window, you could smell a deep fried food smell, not the good kind, in the hallway and when the door opened it was overwhelming. The smell wasn't the only issue the extractor is a large commercial one so the noise was pretty horrific too. We asked if we could change rooms but we're told the hotel was full. We were assured the extractor would be turned off at night but unfortunately it wasn't. It really was so unpleasant and strong in odour it ruined our stay. I should add ours wasn't the only room over the extractor so I would imagine this is a problem for quite a few rooms. The hotel was otherwise okay, pretty run down but we didn't mind that.

The bartender I asked for a Diet Coke he gave me a Coke Zero and when I told him he said that Coke Zero is Diet Coke just straight calling me stupid to my face like I don’t know the difference …. I know it’s a little thing but the atitudine on him just didn’t like him and then he ripped me off for a “double “ of kraken saying the glass is to big and that’s why it looks so little . The Single room was ok for space but the bed mattress was not good you sink in it , duvet to small and the bed head was loose.

Fantastic location, with beautiful views. Away from crowds and peaceful, theres a great terrace for informal drinks & food. Public areas of the hotel are smart and well maintained. If it wasn't for a national drought, theres also a great garden hidden behind the hotel. (I didn't step anywhere near the spa, or the formal dining room so i can't comment there)

I stayed in a single room & for the price it was absolutely fine (particularly as a stop off/ only one night). Had i paid full price and/or was staying longer for a holiday it was very small, with an awkward toilet and shower in an exceptionally small cupboard; someone of larger build would not be able to use these facilities. However, it was clean and well maintained & if passing through again I would stay here again (fortunately i'm pretty thin, and it was offered for a very good price).

Beautiful position but a little way out from the town. Great walks but you need to be fit. Good breakfast .

Tired hotel in an exquisite location. Fantastic staff.

Described and priced as a high end spa hotel but the reality falls short of the marketing hype. The spa is three hydro pools a sauna and steam room. The jet pressure in the hydro pools was weak and pieces were falling off them. The temperature of the sauna and steam room was not hot enough and the cold plunge pool was barely cold. They were over crowded. The breakfast was good except for the bacon which was pink and only just cooked with lots of white unrendered fat. Not value for money.

No air conditioning so it was very hot in the room. It was my mistake when booking that I didn’t notice it wasn’t a feature but with the frequency of these heatwaves we are having it will eventually be essential.

Location was a little difficult as it was not made clear that it was a bit of a trek from the local bus stop. A 5 minute walk is someone elses 15 minute struggle, It is up hill - If you have a medical problem or limited mobility it's best to get a taxi to the hotel if travelled by rail or bus/coach.

Location was great, beautiful walk into Torquay and even shorter walk into meadfoot with a lovely little beach and cafe on the water front. Breakfast was well presented, with a large choice full English, cereals, fruits, yogurts, toast and various hot and cold drinks . Lovely choices for evening meals from restaurant or bar menus for dinner and lunch and added bonus of BBQ at lunch time. Spa facility was well-equipped, and very high standard of cleanliness. Our room was comfortable and clean with a sea view. Staff we came into contact with either by phone before arriving or at the hotel were very helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately our first room wasn’t great but we were moved immediately without any fuss.

We were upgraded to a garden room and having access to the garden via our patio doors was a lovely extra. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and had everything we needed.

They were having problems with their boiler so hot water was intermittent but this was a mild inconvenience. Parking in the hotel was limited but we easily found parking on the road outside.

Beautiful views but loved the verandah, the food was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. The jacussis and plunge pools, steam room were fun. There was a spa masseuse whose services we did not engage. Just a happy, lovely vibe of relaxation. Loved the bar staff and the amazing cocktails too.

Parking in the car park cam be a bit off a timing issue very i.e timing when there are spaces near the hotel, however there are free parking up the road and you just put a free ticket from the hotel in your windscreen, and it's free. Obviously the early birds get the parking spaces easier. But staff were helpful about that too.

Die Lage und die Aussicht sind sehr gut und auch das Früchstück war recht ordentlich. Das Personal am Empfang war super nett und hilfsbereit. Parkplätze sind vorhanden und inkludiert. Bar am Abend war gut. Auch die Unterhaltung war in Ordnung (wenn man so was mag). Das Barpersonal war auch sehr umsichtig und hilfsbereit. Es hätte auch ein SPA gegeben.

Warum man den Bus laufen lassen muss ist mir zH schon ein Rätsel und vor einem Hotel nochmals. Das war ein bisschen laut. Keine Klimaanlage, Einrichtung ein wenig veraltert.

Beautiful location.

Housekeeping were very loud and woke me up to hear them chat about their plans in the corridor outside my room, which lasted a long time discussing everything - very inconsiderate. Thin walls. Doors cannot be shut quietly. Had to keep the curtains closed because anybody walking past could look in. Lack of plug sockets - none near bed so could not charge phone or use fan.

Really good breakfast, good choice, staff were so helpful and friendly, view and location fab, overall cleanliness of the rooms were good, and the communal areas too

Parking not great when other functions are on at the hotel, the decor not great could do with an uplift, some of the single rooms which we were staying in were shabby and needed a total refurb and one room in particular was not much bigger that a cupboard, but staff helped to find a different room for my mother

I loved absolutely everything about the hotel. The staff upon arrival were so welcoming. The view from our beautiful room was breathtaking, overlooking the sea. Cannot rate this place higher. Loved every moment will definitely be back.

Nice room with a lovely sea view. Comfortable bed. Bathroom ok. Good to have tea and coffee facilities in the room. Choices for cereals ok, choices for cooked breakfast really good, when available, sausages especially! Brown and white toast available with good choice of preserves. Having an EV charger on site is great, and the EV Project app and charger are easy to use, it's one the key reasons to choose this hotel.

There are no plug sockets near the bed, we had to move the bed to use the socket the lamp was plugged in to. No bedside table on one side of the bed, had to use the chair to put a bottle of water on, nowhere near the bed to plug in phone charger. Floorboards very creaky and noisy, felt sorry for anyone staying in room below. Not enough hooks or rails in bathroom for all towels. Shower head and hose not removable from shower fixing slide, I think it was fitted upside down? It would be safer to test temperature of water if it was removable. Although cooked breakfast choices are good, really takes a while for items to be replenished, especially if around 09.00 or after. We saw people waiting for 10 to 15 mins for fried eggs! Very limited selection of fruit and very seldom replenished at all! No real option for anything resembling a continental breakfast or Danish pastries, not enough put out and never saw them replenished at all! I saw a croissant maybe once, and we were down for breakfast each morning around 08.00 0r 08.30.

Completely not a value for money stay..we paid £313 for 2 nights…The room was shocking…entry door hanging of the hinges, bathroom door handle falling off…the level of dust was enormous…and the mattress was beyond useable,exceedingly large black stains on both sides. After complaining, we were moved to another room..only complaint with this room was that there was no hot water in the morning.

Tired room with a strong smell of damp. Shower was very slow and cubicle was small and doors when closed left a gap both sides letting water escape onto the floor. For a top class hotel you expect the rooms to be much better.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable with a super king size bed. Stunning views. It's a lovely walk into town but as it's at the top of hill the walk back was quite tough but taxi's were only a few pounds.

The first room we were placed in had the smallest shower. My husband couldn't even get in. After speaking with reception they moved us to a room with a bigger bathroom.

The view from our room excellent, couldn't be beaten. Entertainment in the evening was a pleasant surprise. Staff very friendly and professional

For an exc room, there was no safe, fridge, tissue on offer. Hot Breakfast was good. Regrettably, no fresh fruit offered.

The breakfast was lovely. The staff were friendly. The sea view was amazing. The bar area was good, and you could get a good range of drinks. The location is perfect for a stay in Torquay, with a short walk to the beachfront, restaurants, and bars.

The room was very dated. The pictures online made it look like the bathroom would be nicer than it was. It was not the cleanest hotel I have stayed in. The shower had very little pressure, which made it hard to wash.

A little dated in the rooms, no shower curtain in the Ziplink Garden Room so had to hang a towel up at the full length bathroom window as other quests were walking by. Was also hard work as a single traveller with dogs as I had two flights of stairs to carry all my luggage up and down No dog poop bins in the garden grounds

Room was stuffy and too hot. Unable to open window. Bathroom door got jammed with room door. Came away with bruises down my arm trying to gain access.

The location is stunning and the price is very reasonable. Breakfast was excellent and there was a great variety of options to choose from. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The hotel was pretty noisy at night so some soundproofing of the rooms would be great.

The only criticism was the room was small, and therefore extremely warm due to the weather.

The room smells of food as it was located near the exhaust fan of the restaurant. It was not stated whilst I booked it. The room was hot 🔥, the toilet/shower has no exhaust, the toilet bowl was not clean enough there were residue noticed.

The room was basic with a view to a side ally. The room was extremely hot and didn't have fans despite the heat wave. We had to keep the window opened and half asleep as we were concerned about security. Although the website said Jocquise, steam room and sauna is available, we had to pay £10 per person each time we wanted to use it. The website was misleading.

Booked a room with sea view, but was just a glimpse of sea if you lent out of a side window. I saw reception and was offered another room with a lovely sea view, fantastic service! Good choice of breakfasts.

Although there was a good selection for breakfast, the cooked food did not keep hot long enough in the containers! Wasn't cold, but could be hotter!

Our room was noisy as early start for workers sorting out stuff. Terrace could have had a clean, if can’t use pressure washer maybe a bucket and stuff brush.
