OYO The Red Lion Hotel

I liked that it is a nice hotel close to the airport.

They don’t have a reception and don’t write on their booking page that. I couldn’t check in because of that. I called them and they said they can’t help and dropped the phone. No support, no help, nobody cared. Bad service.

This is not a 3-star hotel. These are just rooms in a building behind a rough pub. The rooms look like they haven't been cleaned since Brexit. There is no reception and no 24/7 service, and a hole in the front door was covered up with paper. Filthy stains around the toilet, dirty bathtub. I left after just a few minutes. I still haven't received a refund, nor have I been issued an invoice. Neither the hotel nor Booking.com is responding to my emails.

The location was perfect. Easy walking distance to Centre and shops! Staff was great!

Parking was included, inserted my registration number and then we received a parking ticket for parking! Probably the parking company doesn't collect the correct data!

There was no toilet paper in the room. I had to go and ask for toilet paper in the restaurant. The male proprietor shouts to the guy behind the bar give him some toilet paper like I was asking for a favor. Demeaning, now walking through the restaurant back to my room with 2 rolls of toilet paper. The other staff where great as is the lady owner. Was asked to pay a £40 deposit which I wasn't asked to do in my previous stay, which still hasn't been returned a week later. I didn't expect luxury, it's literally a cheap place to stay over for an early flight, but there's basics that are expected

I don't like anything in this room. The room was so dusty smell mould even when I put the fan on all the dust spread 🤧 🙃 everywhere. The bathroom smell like a pooped 💩 😩 omg smell really bad I will never come at this place again. But one thing I have to clarify you have to put the same on the website how the bedroom look like in a real like don't put something beautiful and when im going overthere it was different nothing look even similar otherwise I will never stay overthere.

The accomadation is filthy the musty smell you receive once the room door opens is horrendous the room is not like the pictures shown on this site. It is not 3 stars not even a one star. The smell of weed was like been in Amsterdam. The toilets in the room must not have been cleaned since the day they were put in. Shower mat was mouldy. Our room was not cleaned once during our stay we had to ask for clean towels everyday.The double bed in our room had a single duvet on it It is so run down it actually shouldnt offer accomadation

Lovely staff, great checkin, shown to room. For the price it's fair value - Great location, and a bar serving really good Indian food. All staff were excellent. Comfortable bed, very clean bedding and nice towels. Tea & coffee in room. Quiet location.

Okay, it's a bit warn in places and tv really didn't work I think due to WiFi signal not being strong enough.

Only one working power socket above the TV. There was a fan and a kettle available, but I had to hold the kettle up near the ceiling just to boil water because the only working socket was so high. There was also a gap between the wall and the door frame, so I could see people walking along the corridor. I understand that the price per night is attractive, but this was the worst room I have ever stayed in.

Unfortunately it was very hot weather and our room had no opening window just a fan which made it extremely uncomfortable to sleep , really needs air con like the bar .

Nothing was like the pictures. There was no parking , once we checked in were taken to the door where the rooms are and as the guy opened the door the smell of mould , wet , beer , oil. There were stains all over the floor, the room the wall paper was coming off , windows did not open, in the toilet the floor was lifting , stains on carpet and smelled just as bad if not worse than the hallway . And the heat in the room was worse than outside . Did not sleep there as the conditions were worst than any hotel I have ever stayed and o stayed in bad ones through out South Africa this is hands down the the worst I have stepped into and had to pay more money for another hotel to just not be in that one .

I love the location close to amenities. Staff are wonderfully friendly and accommodating. The Indian food is exceptionally delicious.

The cleanliness of the room was non existent, pubic hair found in bed, hair and mould all over the bathroom. Windows in the room couldn’t be opened so was all in all not a nice stay.

The pub staff were excellent particularly Tej, they were very friendly, lunch was excellent, it was nice to have some lovely food alternatives and would have had dinner then but we were still full! We were disappointed not to have been able to have breakfast there but the doors were still locked at 9.30.

The accomodation was extremely tired and in need of updating, flaky paint, towel rail not been put on properly and holes not filled in. The bed was comfy but the pillows were about an inch thick so not even comfy when folded in half. The member of staff who showed us to our room was very helpful and even went to get a key to another room as he wasn't happy when he checked the bathroom. The room smelt very musty so I'm glad he moved us. The general cleanliness was very poor, the sink and toilet were clean but other than that everywhere was extremely dusty . It needs a VERY deep clean, the hallway included. Outside the entranced needs a good clean and tidy up and bins provided for cigarette ends and rubbish.

The pub was great, the food delicious especially when arriving after a long drive. The staff super friendly. Thw room was what I expected for the price- just wanting a bed for the night for an early flight. Had everything we needed. And bonus of a free car park

The rooms need a little TLC but aware that the cost mirrors this. Your sleep will only be as good as the other guests staying too. Walls are pretty thin. It sounded like elephants were coming up the corridor whenever another guest came back to their room and the doors were easily slammed and therefore, noisy. The TV in the room did not get signal so we couldn't watch it.

It was a good size, the staff were helpful and it was close to the centre. The pub food was also good.

It was a little noisy during the night and had to thin walls, also the pillow provided was inadequate and no clean pillow case for use on the spare provided.

The location is good. Right in the heart of the shopping / restaurant part of Luton and it has a small car park. I don't know what room had been allocated to us prior to arrival but due to our mobility issues he said we could have a room on the ground floor but there would be a couple of steps down to go out into the courtyard and then a couple of steps up into the other part of the building, which was doable.

The corridor to the rooms needs alot of work ie the walls with peeling plaster and paint and was filthy. Our room (called LILLEY) was filthy. The cups and glasses were dirty. The bath edges were covered in black mould. The bath taps were grimy and covered in limescale as if never cleaned. The toilet is too close to the door. The radiator was filthy. The whole bathroom needs gutting and redoing. In the bedroom the windows look straight out into the pedestrian access to the shopping area and there were not even any nets to allow the curtains to be opened so we had to keep them closed which didn't help with the whole gloomy feeling of the room. We found a couple of strange greyish spots on the quilt cover. The quilt and the pillows were so thin and flat that they were useless (good job we had our own pillows, which were put in the wash as soon as we got home). We both appeared to have been bitten a couple of times. The bedside lights were grimy. The carpet edges were grimy. The whole room needs some serious maintenance work done. I could go on but I think you've got an idea now of what the accommodation is like

The bed was comfortable

The place is run down. Dirty sticky carpets everywhere. Holes in the walls in places. Musty smell. The bath had a dirt ring in it. The coffee cup was dirty and has someone's old lipstick on it.

Gente simplesmente no quarto não tinha como carrega o celular , pois nenhuma tomada funcionava , água super gelada , fora que o quarto era 5 escada pra chegar , eu tive que ficar 2 noite carregando celular nos restaurantes e fora que o quarto é super gelado não tem aquecedor

The price was very reasonable. Parking at rear of the pub. Staff were very helpful. Food was nice and reasonably priced.

A bit of updating to done in the room and minor repairs. Quite noisy being bang in the town centre. A lot of street noise throughout the night.

Young South Asian Man healthy weight slim, arguing with bouncer outside before walking in after I was checked in was rude it wasnt clear to me or the bouncer whether the young guy making off colour remarks worked there or was simply drunk and mobile he did walk behind the counter after older man checked me in.

The staff were fantastic and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable and clean.The Indian food was exceptional.

I always stay here when I'm in Luton its definitely the best value for money and its right in town. If you're looking for a spot where you just want to spend the minimum, get a totally acceptable room, and use it as a functional home base, this place covers you 100%. The bonus is that the pub downstairs serves awesome food made on premises. Also the staff are really friendly and helpful.

If you like dust then this place would be perfect. The room wasn’t hoovered. Probably for months. There was thick layers of dust on the iron board. Shows the room probably hadn’t been used in months. The skirting board has thick layers dust.

I don’t think the room had been cleaned properly as there was quite abit of dust on the floor on the carpet corner when i accidentally dropped a tshirt after ironing… the shower had sufficient water (not hot hot) however was tricky configuring from the tap as the pressure kept differing

Great Restaurant, with a wide selection. Best butter chicken I've had in a while.
