This was our second time staying at this little gem of a hotel. Room was spacious and sparkling clean Staff were wonderful. Parking is always a plus!

It was lovely to stay in a traditional hotel. It was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding.

We were in room 11 on the top floor…to reach our room there is a very narrow steep winding staircase…… We could manage it but it was very difficult trying to carry luggage too. We were not made aware of it!!

Couldn’t shower as combined body wash and shampoo. No conditioner. At the price point this is the first hotel I have ever stayed at without proper shampoo and conditioner. Paint coming off walls in bathroom. Feels more like a b&b than a hotel. Couldn’t find staff when needed.

Friendly and welcoming. Comfortable, if basic room. Delicious breakfast, with plenty of choice for those with dietary restrictions. Close enough to the town centre without being busy.

This is a wonderful hotel right in the centre of Bury St Edmunds with easy access to the Abbey Gardens, Cathedral, and all the other facilities the town has to offer. It has parking for all guests and provides lovely breakfasts! We always try and stay here when we come to visit the town as it is so well kept and has such good facilities. We would highly recommend the Chantry Hotel.

Well maintained, excellent breakfast and very friendly staff, excellent service. Great location Large bedroom and bathroom with rubber mat for bath - rarely provided.

Carpark very limited and difficult with large car. No lift, but am certain staff would have offered to assist if necessary. Curtains non blackout so let light through in early morning. Bathroom window no blind or curtain Bathroom a little dusty in places, just needed a little more care and attention, which at £189.00 B&B I would have expected. For me the bed mattress was a little lumpy, but I still slept well.

It didn't spoil our trip but a little point worth noting if you are at the top of the hotel, the steps are extremely narrow and spiral with low ceilings on the landing and bathroom. My husband is tall and bumped his head several times, cutting it once- there's no safety markings. Just worth noting if this might be a problem for you

All that we wanted in a small independent hotel. Great attention to detail; great location for central Bury St Edmunds, free parking, lovely breakfast with some organic options. Would be happy to recommend.

It was in a good location in the centre of town, lovely period property but well modernised and attractively decorated. Had all the facilities we wanted (tea/coffee making, iron and board, fan etc). Staff friendly and helpful and breakfast very good indeed

It didn’t have air con but that is often the case with very old properties. The fan and general ventilation kept us comfortable

I had a wonderful relaxing stay in an excellent location . I loved the simplicity and no frills of the hotel. It was beautifully clean .

Loved the decor very much, nice colours very easy on the eye . Location was great and also close enough to hear the bells of the cathedral .

Friendly owners, spotlessly clean room and a delicious cooked-to-order breakfast. Highly recommend.

This was a lovely experience. You park in the yard of the hotel which is in the medieval centre of the town, you meet a pleasant individual (the owner?) who shows you to your room, you get a town map and advice as to where to go eat/sight-see and come back to a lovely clean bed in a nice room with a window that opens so you can have fresh air overnight. Breakfast was perfect.

A warm greeting on arrival with help to take our bags to our rooms. Rooms were tasteful and quiet, they were of a size to be expected in a period property but contained everything we needed. Breakfast was splendid. Parking was provided. Overall a marvellous experience.

A comfortable hotel with a friendly, pleasant atmosphere. The breakfast room was airy and spacious. Breakfast was excellent with table service and cooked on request and with a large choice of alternatives. the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was very near the town centre but in a quiet location.

The location is perfect for those who travel without a car and want to be near the center. We enjoyed a quiet room on the top floor and liked that we could open the window. The bed was very comfortable, as were the chairs, and the room was spotless. The breakfast, cooked to order, was exceptional.

The curtains are not blackout, so we were wakened by sunlight.

Nice old house in town sympathetically converted to practical hotel

The room was a bit spartan but had what was needed. The promised bath was not there.

The staff were very accommodating and very knowledgeable about the local area. Recommended local eateries and the best route to the venue we were in the area for. Breakfast was fantastic a choice of fruit, cereals, yogurt, lovely coffee. The room was large, and very clean.

The mattress on our room was a bit on the hard side, but otherwise a lovely room in a quite location.

Excellent location with a Home Feel 5 minutes walk to centre, room exceptionally clean and tidy and a very well appointed bath room. Bed very comfy and a great nights sleep. Breakfast very good, excellent coffee!

Adorable hotel, loved everything about our stay, eady parking, warm welcome, assistance with directions to venue and map given. Its spotless, so clean, fab nights sleep, great shower pressure and the breakfast was amazing, cooked to order and superb quality. Will defo visit again
