We really enjoyed our stay here. The room while small had everything we needed. The breakfast was cooked fresh to order. It was in easy walking distance to the town. The staff, particularly Hayley, the manager was friendly and helpful and nothing was a bother to her.

The room was in the loft and my husband hit his head a number of times when he forgot to move away from the side of the room.

Consideration needs to be given to the level of detail given to ordering breakfast on a form the night before . On the morning of the breakfast the same information was either gone over again or points made not adhered to for instance I would like 2 eggs and got 1 and I would like water to take tablets and got none and had to ask for it having written it on the form the night before

Absolutely loved it at Diamond Lodge. The team were lovely and extremely helpful with advice and knowledge of the area. Breakfast was amazing and plenty available. Nothing was too much trouble.

Our bed had a very firm mattress which did unfortunately give us back ache, although the team did say it was a new mattress and possibly needed bedding in. Some would prefer a firm mattress but this is just down to preference. The black wardrobe in the room kind of looks out of place but some would be happy to just have somewhere to hang their clothes. Not a complaint as the room and en-suite are beautiful.

The little fridge was not good for anything it didn't keep anything cold we told the staff, but they didn't change it

Couldn't fault the breakfasts they were excellent. Location just a ten minute walk to Ambleside centre and a variety of pubs and restaurants.

There is no lift here so beware if you're not good at climbing stairs.

Wonderful Guest House. Modern and immaculate rooms . Very clean . Breakfast was superb and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for a quick walk into town and also a quick water to the Waterside . East access to the bus stop to Windermere and Bowness. Parking was always available and free as part of the package Overall a wonderful experience . Very highly recommended

Excellent location for town centre and lake, bus stop a minute walk away. Plenty of car parking, friendly welcome from Hayley who gave us the choice of 2 rooms on the ground floor. Cooked breakfast is pre ordered, good quality produce, fresh fruit salad and cereals also available. Room was quiet, had great walk in shower, robes and slippers provided. Bottles of water provided daily.

Fridge in room disturbed sleep so next night turned it off. Lovely to have bottles of water provided but perhaps a chilled water filling station to fill own reusable bottle would be more environmentally friendly.

Beautiful property, lovely staff, very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was lovely, room excellent too. There is also a lovely lounge to relax in.

Only one issue to mention, it was very difficult to open the window and to keep it open, im sure it just needs fixing, we managed but it wasn't easy.

Just got home from four nights away at The Diamond. Would definitely return and recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely superb guest house - brilliant location, onsite parking, attention to details and very friendly owners and staff. We had one of the top floor rooms with a stunning view from the skylight. Cannot fault and we’ll definitely be booking here again.

Felt quite impersonal, lady appeared at breakfast which was good but didn’t see anyone else during stay. Breakfast was very nice.

The location, staff and breakfasts!! We thoroughly enjoyed staying here, completely looked after with such friendly staff, rooms are very comfortable and the breakfasts were amazing (bacon sandwiches are to die for!) amazing hospitality, location and exceptionally clean throughout - highly recommended.

A bit miserable I would say overall and overpriced. Breakfast was good but you had to pre-order and not as exceptional as stated in other reviews. This is according to them a 5-star guest house but we’ve seen definitely better.

Rent, snyggt, jättefint badrum, god frukost. Fantastiskt trevlig personal. Fantastiska Haley som fick oss att känna oss som hemma och hjälpte till med förslag på vandringar och sevärdheter. Nära till busshållplats och till centrum.

Everything, parking excellent and within walking distance of Ambleside only few minutes walk. Diamond Lodge is amazing from the moment you walk through the door , quiet, beautifully decorated and extremely clean. Bedroom and bathroom to high standard and bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and set you up for the day with nothing been to much trouble. And finally the Diamonds are the staff - Hayley and her team are simply amazing, always smiling and ensuring your stay is the best experience will definately be back. Hayley very knowledgeable about the area , a huge thank you for a wonderful stay , will definately be back xx

Great location, free parkind, lovely and very clean throughout with friendly staff.

The only downside was that the bed in room 10 wasn't very comfortable and the pillows were too hard for our liking.

Stayed for 1 night in February, absolutely perfect location, room was spot on and breakfast was amazing along with very helpful and happy staff.

This is a gorgeous hotel which is situated in a perfect location with ample free parking and a short walking distance from both the town centre and the lake. The breakfast is amazing and cooked perfectly, with a good choice of quality food. The room was very clean and the bed very comfy. Hayley and the rest of the staff were absolutely amazing, very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend and we have already booked to go again.

Oasis of calm

Location excellent with the addition of parking. Hayley very helpful with everything we needed to know about our visit to The Lakes. Cooked breakfast was delicious. Waiting staff very nice and helpful.

Being on top floor the stairs a bit much. Having the attic room with velux windows so no visible view. Felt the room and fixtures a bit tired in places.

This was our second stay at Diamond Lodge and it didn't disappoint. We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor which was spacious with a huge bed and lovely large bathroom with walk in shower. Spotlessly clean with bathrobes, slippers and complimentary toiletries. All the staff were lovely and Hayley lives on site so always someone available if you need anything. Breakfast was delicious and hot with plenty of choice. Large car park which is a rare find in Ambleside and only 10 min walk each way to Warerhead Pier or town centre
