The Hare & Hounds was very reasonable price wise and perfect for our needs, it came with a good breakfast and the room was very clean and comfortable. We shall definitely return next year.

We had a room by the road and although you can hear road noise it did not wake us.

La situation géographique : à quelques minutes en voiture de Rye et avec la possibilité de démarrer de belles ballades à vélo dans la région. Le petit déjeuner typiquement anglais. La possibilité de laisser nos vélos sur place, sécurisés. Les conseils de ballade à vélo de la propriétaire (Dungeness).

Le Hare and Hounds se trouve à quelques minutes en voiture de Rye, en bordure d'une route qui s'est révélée très bruyante. Les chambres à louer se trouvent en front de rue. Il s'agit d'une sorte de bungalow en préfabriqué divisé en 4 chambres. Nous en occupions 2 (une pour notre couple et une pour nos enfants de 17 et 23 ans). Les parois entre les chambres sont assez faibles donc si le voisin prend sa douche ou tire la chasse, nous l'entendons. Les chambres sont spacieuses et la salle de bains est ok. Le bruit a été une véritable mauvaise surprise. Impossible de dormir la fenêtre ouverte et même si elle est fermée, il nous a fallu des boules quies (qui sont d'ailleurs en libre service dans la salle de bains). C'est dommage car l'endroit est assez joliment pensé par les propriétaires, avec un grand parking et un petit jardinet privé, avec des bancs où l'on peut se poser mais où l'on ne sait pas tenir une conversation à cause des nuisances de la route. Il y a un grand espace de camping, en arrière de terrain, où les gens sont plus au calme. A privilégier à mon avis.

We loved the location. It was close to Rye, and not to far away from other attractions. Its located in a semi rural location, surrounded by woods and farmland. Harriet the host at The Hare & Hounds was so accommodating, nothing was too bother. There was a good choice of breakfast, toast, cereals, cooked breakfast, coffee tea juice and different spreads for your toast. Good times for breakfast too. Between 8am-9am so you don't have to get up too early. The accommodation had everything you needed. It was comfortable and clean with toiletries, and a hairdryer, which for me was good. There was a small garden to the side of the Chalets, with seating, just right for a hour or two relaxing at the end of a day exploring the area.

Very clean and tidy, lovely room and staff/owner very polite. We stayed in the B&B. But will try bring our campervan next time, as the camp site looks good and facilities good.

De hygiëne en de vriendelijke host

De locatie, deze ligt aan een belangrijke verbindingsweg en was drukker dan gedacht. Wij slapen altijd met de ramen open en dit was toch lawaaierig

Sehr netter kleiner Schäferwagen für 1-2 Personen mit eigenem Badezimmer. Gemütlich eingerichtet mit Allem was man zur Selbstversorgung braucht, im Winter sogar mit der Möglichkeit einen kleinen Holzofen anzufeuern. Im Ort Peasmarsh gibt es eine Einkaufsmöglichkeit für Lebensmittel und alles Andere, sowie eine Tankstelle. Guter Ausgangspunkt um die Südküste zu erkunden, gut von London oder Dover aus mit dem Auto zu erreichen.

I found an air of tranquility about the whole site. Didn’t camp but that looked spacious, tidy and peaceful. We stayed bed and breakfast the room space was fine, chairs and cupboard space. The bathroom was fine. The single beds we had were so very comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order on hot plates and the tea bags made a super cup of tea, must get some for our own consumption back home. Found our hosts Ben and Harriet so easy going and made you feel as though nothing was too much trouble. When we drove in Harriet was there to welcome us. Would stay again. Thanks Harriet.

The wi fi could have been a little stronger, in fairness I didn’t mention it. Found it was a good excuse not to be on the IPad all the time.

Sehr großes und stilvolles eingerichtetes Zimmer mit eigenem Bad. Kleiner abgetrennter Garten Bereich für die Gäste mit Zimmer. Frühstück war inklusive und wurde frisch für uns zubereitet. Die Gastgeberin war super lieb und sehr zuvorkommend

Die Unterkunft liegt an einer recht stark befahren Straße was man mit offenen Fenstern etwas hört.

Das Zimmer und das Grundstück waren sauber, die Gastgeberin sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Unterkunft ist gut gelegen, um Rye und die Umgebung zu erkunden.

Bei einem leichten Schlaf kann die Straße etwas störend sein.

Fabulous room - stylish and comfortable - which opened out onto lawned area with seating, great for relaxing when we returned from a day out. Hosts really friendly and helpful.

Wij verbleven in de kamer Willow. Echt mooie ruimte en op ons verzoek 2 aparte bedden. Alles heel verzorgd en compleet tot in kleine details. Thee en koffie met koekjes. Badkamer ruim en heerlijke douche. Optimaal schoon en hygiënisch. Royale parkeermogelijkheid op eigen terrein. Ontbijt heel verzorgd en voldoende keuze. We hebben genoten. En danken Harriet en Ben voor hun gastvrijheid. Speciaal omdat we al om 11.00u mochten inchecken ivm vroege overtocht via LeShuttle. Top B&B met ook ruime campeermogelijkheden.

The property was super clean and in a great location. We had the double room (Oak) and it was very comfy and exactly what we needed for a weekend away. Harriet was the best host and just so helpful.

There wasn’t anything

Absolutely everything! What a beautiful little stay. Everything was just perfect. Harriett & Ben were so lovely and welcoming and kind. They have thought about everything to make the hut a comfortable little home. It was a big decision for me to take this trip and it was just perfect and made me glad I did The ideal little solace.

That I wasn’t there long enough… I didn’t get to use the outside area as the weather wasn’t great, but even in the rain, it was lovely and cosy.

Geen airco (het was 30 graden buiten toen wij er waren) het b&b lag verder aan een luidruchtige weg, waarop hard gereden werd, maar oordoppen waren aanwezig.

We have just had a two night stay here, the owners couldn’t have been more accommodating. Lovely clean rooms with everything needed in a beautiful setting.

Das Zimmer war schön und geräumig. Die Lage in der Nähe von Rye war super. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen. Das Frühstück war lecker und gut organisiert.

Unser Zimmer lag direkt an der Straße, deshalb war es etwas laut aber kein Minuspunkt Wert ;)

Tv was a bit small for the football.

Lovely B&B with wonderful host! Our room was comfortable and well equipped, bathroom spacious and shower hot. The location is convenient for getting to lots of lovely walks ( we came in the car) and local places of interest. I specified a gluten free breakfast and was amply provided for. Our host was super kind and friendly. Price was very reasonable. Would definatly recommend. (Campsite looked great - Hare & Hounds is perfect for family or group of campers and non campers)

Great location, just outside Rye. Easy booking, easy check in. Pet friendly. Shepherds Hut was as described and we had a lovely relaxing stay. Plan to return, our friend has booked a summer stay on our recommendation.

It cannot be helped, was aware of road noise at night. Would be nice to have the hut away from the main area but understand limitations in doing so. Sink in bathroom was a little small but again fully understood due to size of hut. We had a lovely stay, very positive and would return.

The room was both spacious and comfortable and very easy to access from the carpark. The shower was a lovely size and everywhere was very clean. Breakfast with perfect with everything that we required.

We were very happy with everything, but if pushed to suggest any slight improvement it would be bigger bath towels.

Some fruit options would have been nice

Such a beautiful shepherds hut with everything you need. Very comfortable and the fire pit was perfect for a chilly evening.

Location was great . Nice walks nearby .Very Friendly owners/ hosts .. Dog friendly . We stayed in one of their rooms which was well equipped with all the basics .. Breakfast was a limited with choices but was pleasant enough .

Better quality pillows and towels and the mattress was lumpy so an upgrade in those areas would make it much more comfortable .. plus the tv remote didn’t work properly..

Clean, fully equipped and cosy hut. Kitchen had everything I needed. Shower was powerful and spacious. Bed comfortable and the view over the field was great.

Location. Very small hut Good car parking but very muddy track to the hut so a bit difficult in the dark and with two dogs and no where really to wipe down. Very small shower im 5,5 height and size 12 so v small for me. No gates to hut or between hut/campsite and car park or between car park and main road so quite dangerous incase dogs run off. Couldn’t let dogs off for a wee had to take them on lead and walk through the mud. Nice quiet hut though with lovely views. Small point but loose sugar and teabags that could’ve been there ages and no milk. Dirty sink and shower plug holes.

The breakfast was really yummy and prompt, greetings from the staff were friendly and they were very helpful. Room was very clean and in a good location, not far from Hastings and rye. Easy to find and had parking!

Honestly everything was really good! It is off a main road so can be a little nosy if ur not used to cars driving past occasionally in the night but they provided ear plugs which we found really useful! But t

Harriet was lovely and so accomodating - going the extra mile and even offering us a ride into town in the morning.

Lovely welcome. Spacious room and lovely decor. The breakfast was tasty and the set up was easy to navigate. Plenty parking and comfortable bed.

The hut and location are generally fine.

The property page said "superb breakfast at the property". It was not until we received an email from the property after booking that we realised that the Shepherds Hut does not include breakfast. The owners must be aware that this happens because of their email. No tea, coffee or millk. The bed was a very small double and so not very comfortable. The lighting wasn't good enough to read in the evening. The bathroom wash basin is too tiny for washing. The heating remote control was missing and it was not obvious how to operate the heating.

The shepherds hut was very cosy . So warm even during cold night. We would have loved to light the wood burner but it was so warm without it we didn't. It was private and had everything we needed for a short stay .
