This was our second time staying here, and we absolutely love the accommodation. The place is beautiful, comfortable, and overall we’ve had great experiences here, which is why we chose to come back.

The only disappointment was the breakfast situation. We had an early flight, so we spoke to reception the day before and were told not to worry, as a takeaway breakfast would be prepared and ready for us in the morning. Unfortunately, when we went to check out, there was no one at reception and no takeaway breakfast had been provided. We were relying on what we had been told, especially as we were leaving early for the airport. What made the situation more disappointing was the response we later received from Patricia by email. We didn’t feel the response was very understanding or friendly, especially considering we were simply explaining that a service promised to us by reception had not been provided.

Life in a palace, decoration of the room, quality of the breakfast, location

Building was old elegance, which my sister and I love. Breakfast was served in several little rooms that were extremely tastefully decorated. The violinist and pianist were exceptionally delightful to listen to while eating breakfast. Location of the property was excellent and we were able to walk everywhere. Staff were extremely helpful, welcoming, kind and were knowledgeable with whatever questions we asked. The FADO Dinner that we decided to reserve was excellent. The music with the singer we had and her two musicians were entertaining and high quality. The waiter was very attentive and kept our wine glasses filled. Staying at this hotel was very pleasant and we would definitely stay there again.

What we didn’t like was our room was in the basement which was a bit musty and dark. So we would not want to stay down in that location again. Need to ask for the higher floors. Breakfast was good, however, if you arrive 30-40 minutes before it ends all the warm food is cold and they don’t replenish any items that are missing. So, get to breakfast as soon as it opens to have a variety of food and hot items.

They currently have their spa (pool, sauna, steam room) being renovated. They should have advised that their spa is currently being renovated/repaired because we were looking forward to that experience of using their facilities. We found out when we got there that these facilities are not currently available, that was a disappointment.

Breakfast is not only diverse and very good but the ambience can't be beat. A series of drawing rooms are used for it while a pianist plays in the background. Very elegant! This is our second time here and it's still wonderful. The minute you walk in there is the smell of spice and the people can't do enough. Fascinating history worth reading about and doing a good look around - from the various drawing rooms to the wine cellar, and the garden where you can have coffee, a wine, etc. A respite in the middle of a busy city. Location is great and right on Tram #28

We loved everything about the hotel, especially the staff who were amazing and went above and beyond to make us feel special but also comfortable. The bedrooms were stunningly beautiful and the whole interior definitely created the atmosphere of the Age of Discovery. Breakfast was a fun experience and we really enjoyed exploring the different rooms and we also liked the lounges and bar area with lots of cosy places to relax. We used the sauna and Roman bath twice and it was such a calming place to relax after a day out. The treats like the cherry liqueur and spice tea along with the pombal cakes and pasta del nata on the bar were also most welcome. It was altogether a luxurious and fun experience which began with our airport transfer from the legendary Bruno who knows everything about Lisbon and the hotel so gave us a very good humoured and informative welcome. All the staff were so warm, and friendly without being intimidating. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. My daughter and I felt like we had princess treatment and it was a truly memorable experience.

There was a small mix up when we arrived when we were surprised to be placed in a different room to the one we had selected on booking.com. However, Daniel was super helpful in arranging for us to move to a beautiful river view room for our last 2 nights which made us very happy. Both rooms we stayed in were fantastic, especially the baths, which we enjoyed a lot.

Особенно впечатлила живая музыка на завтрак, а также вечер Фаду. Очень душевно, обязательно к посещению! Днем также есть приятные моменты в виде угощения вином и десертами под аккомпанемент фортепиано. Удачное расположение, рядом все достопримечательности.Лучший из отелей, в которых я побывала. И обязательно приеду еще.

Роскошный отель с незабываемыми интерьерами. Все номера в отеле разные. Мы проживали в Oro 2 на 2ом этаже с балкончиком и видом на реку. Отель как музей, здесь вы погружаетесь в мир открытий! Потрясающий завтрак в нескольких залах проходит под живую музыку

It's was the most fantastic stay . The staff were so hospitable and the hotel beautiful. It is a wonderful gem and cannot recommend it highly enough .

The staff was not very kind and helpful. Except ines sameiro, she was kind, really helpful and tried to solve any problems.

Great location in city centre, refined, clean, charming, beautiful interior, friendly staff, sumptuous breakfast. A few minutes from the subway. It felt like living in a palace with modern amenities.

This is one of the most stunning hotels I have stayed in. Around every corner was a new delight. I loved the rooms and the bathtub especially.

Rooms were compact and there is a lot going on (heavy wallpapers and furniture - sensory overload). Some areas of the hotel are incredible in terms of high ceilings/windows and wide stairs, whereas other areas leading to bedrooms are twisty/turning/rabbit warren corridors. No-one spoke to us at breakfast, in fact the staff ignored us entirely and it took us following other guests to work out where the food was. It’s split between three rooms (which isn’t obvious at all). I tried to catch the eye of a member of staff and they absolutely ignored me. However staff at front desk are kind.

Prachtig gebouw, mooie inrichting. Super vriendelijk personeel. Heerlijke sfeer. Ontbijt met live piano muziek. De Fado avond was ook prachtig met heerlijk eten. Het diner werd opgediend met prachtig servies goed.

The hotel is near a parking place and very close to the center. The hotel “Palace” interior is very special and well maintained. The breakfast is good enough for the price.

The twin bedroom on the pictures looks more spacious than the actual room. For 2 persons the room and bathroom are a bit too small. The refrigerator in the room is so small that you cannot put a water bottle is. I am amazed that they mentioned on the website that the room has a refrigerator. Breakfast was good only problem is that the staff helping at the breakfast did not speak English, which makes ordering difficult.

מלון מיוחד מאוד, הרגשה שאתם נמצאים בטירה קסומה. כדאי פשוט להסתובב קצת ולחוות את המלון עצמו. אנחנו היינו משפחה גדולה והיו לנו שלושה חדרים, כל אחד מעוצב אחרת. ארוחת בוקר מאוד טעימה ומוגשת בין כמה חדרים, צריך לטייל קצת, זה ממש מוסיף לקסם. כל זה לצלילי פסנתרן שמנגן להנעים את זמנכם. ניקיון ללא רבב. מיקום מושלם. צוות אדיב שמשדר שבאמת איכפת לו! מתאים לזוג שרוצה אווירה רומנטית ולא רק לישון ולרוץ לחקור את העיר.

Hotelbewertung Wir hatten einen wirklich schönen Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel. Die Lage ist einfach klasse und perfekt, um die Umgebung zu erkunden. Auch das Hotel selbst ist sehr schön und hat uns rundum gefallen. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich aber das gesamte Personal: Alle waren unglaublich freundlich, herzlich und hilfsbereit. Bei Fragen wurde uns jederzeit gerne weitergeholfen und man hat sich wirklich willkommen gefühlt. Auch das Frühstück war super sehr umfangreich, abwechslungsreich und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Insgesamt ein wirklich tolles Hotel, das wir jederzeit wieder buchen würden!

The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were the best! The decoration was beautiful and the gym was a great bonus. There was delicious spice tea available at all times which was wonderful to have. The daily welcome drink between 4pm-8pm was lovely after a day of exploring the city and activities.

The location is a bit close to some bars that have drunk people making noise late night, but it is close to many restaurants and stores. The photos on booking.com make the room looked so much bigger, but in reality it was quite small which was a disappointment. The daily cleaning crew left the shower stall with hair on top of the drainage which was not acceptable. The parking was impossible and the garage parking nearby was expensive. Not the fault of the hotel, but it's good to know for other travelers to know.

O ginasio nao esta bem cuidado cimo outrora. Embora com bons equipamentos. O SPA we resume a uma piscina de 9metros quadrados com agua aquecida e duas salas de massagem, nada demais.

Excellent staff! Everyone was very kind and welcoming. A special thank to the staff member who repeatedly offered us cold water every time we came back from sightseeing. Such a thoughtful gesture made us feel truly cared for. The breakfast was delicious and offered a wide variety of fresh, high-quality food. We highly recommend this hotel! Amazing atmosphere in this grand palace. Lovely little extras like the constant availability of tea, coffee and water, the music at breakfast, the hour in the spa. It’s in a good location to explore the city. The staff were so friendly and helpful.

The decoration was lush but there was some grime on the walls that looked like it had been there a long time.

This one really is outstanding and simply magical in every possible sense. We even feel like returning more often to Lisbon simply to stay in this authentic palace over 400 years old, still owned by the same family dating back to Portugal’s first kings… the decoration, the attention to detail, the welcoming drinks, the breakfast, the room wallpaper. It’s truly pure magic, and the nearest to perfection that I could imagine for a stay right in the middle of Lisbon downtown.

A equipe foi muito atenciosa em especial Miguel e a Victoria. O palácio do final do século XVI, é uma volta no tempo e uma ótima experiência para passar momentos com a familia. O café da manhã com pianista é um espetáculo. A localização é excelente, localizado perto da praça Camões e as acomodações são tranquilas e silenciosas.

We loved absolutely everything about this hotel! It is GORGEOUS. Beautifully decorated and unique. The breakfast was delicious and the piano and violin every morning was so special. Our room and the view from our room was so nice too. We would love to come back!

This is an amazing old world type property, a must place to stay! Very friendly staff, great location and again, a true old world Portugal experience…. and an excellent buffet breakfast with live music each morning!

We loved the breakfast each morning. The hotel is beautiful and it feels like you are dining in a palace. They had a piano player each morning and it was such and incredible experience. The food and fruit was great, we loved eating breakfast there. The vibe of the hotel is very cool and takes you back in time. The staff was also friendly and accommodating. Would recommend this place to everyone who visits Lisbon.

Overall everything was great! The only things that could improve are the bed (it was quite small and not the comfiest for us) and our room had very slow wifi (but we believe it was bc we were on the 3rd floor).

Zeer goede F&B…. Deze mensen weten waar ze mee bezig zijn, personeel onberispelijk opgeleid en netjes gekleed, en een ontbijt waar menig 5 sterren hotels van kunnen leren .. ik kan het iedereen aanraden, verder is het een charmant hotel … maar een beetje oubollig.. het ontbijt en het personeel maken dat ruimschoots goed .

Wow, this place was fantastic and way beyond what I was expecting. The interior is gorgeous and the hotel has some many unique experiences built in! We didn't get a chance to see the singing, but the downstairs wine cellar was beautiful and for a good cause. The location was fantastic and made it easy to get around Lisbon. The staff was also accommodating and fluent in several languages. On top of that, the breakfast was delicious and varied! Well worth the price and I would love to return!

The building is from the 16th century and has been updated to keep its gorgeous interior but with modern facilities. Our room and the public areas were all so beautiful, the breakfast spread is amazing, and the wine room and Roman bath were an unexpected treat. It's also super centrally located while still being quiet at night. 10/10 would recommend!

Truly nothing! We liked it so much we stayed a second time when we came back to Lisbon for 1 night during our itinerary.

У ванній кімнаті було багато одноразових туалетних засобів, але жодного для суто жіночих потреб: ні прокладок ні тампонів. Я жінка і я бронювала номер. Іноді після перельоту починаються незаплановані місячні, а вночі це все просто немає де купити. Вважаю що наявність жіночих гігієнічних засобів в готелі це така ж норма як і туалетний папір.

Comfortable and lots of space to relax.

Check out early in the morning due to an early international flight. At first no one was able for check out around 5am, but a number was left to call. I called but there was no answer. I had to wait a while for someone to show up to assist me at checkout. After checking out with the front desk person an hour later I got a message saying that I didn't check out, had an outstanding balance, and didn't return the room key and was charged an additional 5€.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful as are the rooms. The staff are incredibly friendly and the breakfast is superb. The shower could actually fit a grown person without getting water everywhere, which is wonderful in Europe. This place felt like you were getting the Lisbon experience and enjoying the history of the place instead of staying somewhere like a Hilton. Will definitely stay here again but spend the money for a bigger room. Location was wonderful, very close to everything we needed: food, drinks, attractions etc.

The rooms are just a little bit small but that's in line with most European stays, most comfortable for one person, okay with two, but snug (two women who like to stretch out when getting ready). Twin room.

Place is expensive. Our room was not quiet and I could barely sleep. The air-conditioning was not cooling the room sufficiently so we had to open the windows and it was extremely noisy outside.

The hotel is located right in the city center, next to the Saint-Just funicular. That—along with the lovely photos of rooms featuring antique furniture—is why I booked it. But I wasn't prepared for what I actually found. We stepped into a veritable palace, complete with countless nooks, hidden staircases, an inner courtyard, and even a wine cellar. It’s no wonder the doorman offered to escort us to our room upon arrival—we simply wouldn't have found it otherwise! And the room itself was spectacular; I had never stayed in such grandeur before. Another surprise awaited us at breakfast, which was served across a whole suite of rooms—each featuring a spread of exquisite delicacies—all accompanied by a pianist and a violinist. Admittedly, the food selection wasn't huge—mostly fruit, yogurt, cereal, and pastries—but the style was impeccable! Our hotel hosted Fado evenings twice a week, and we were lucky enough to catch one. Не случайно швейцар при заезде взялся сопроводить нас в номер - мы бы его просто не нашли! А каков был сам номер - в таком великолепии я еще никогда не жила. Очередной сюрприз нас ожидал за завтраком, который проходил в в целой анфиладе комнат, в каждой из которых были разложены красивейшие явства, и всё это под аккомпанемент пианиста и скрипачки. Правда, выбор еды был не такой уж большой: в основном фрукты, йогурты, конфлекс и пирожные, но какой стиль! Два раза в неделю в нашем отеле проходили вечера Фадо, и один из них нам посчастливилось застать. Шикарный отель!

This is such a special little hotel in the best location with a wonderful staff. The breakfast is upstairs spread out over several rooms, all furnished in beautiful antiques. The was a pianist and violinist playing during breakfast. This was marvelous!!!!! There is a darling courtyard in the back for relaxing. Also, the lower level has a spa with a Roman style bath and a wine cave. I can not recommend this hotel Enough. It is a very special place. And the staff is just fantastic. And so helpful!

The incense was a bit strong in some spaces.

The Palacio das Esperciarias is a first class experience. All rooms are different because the hotel is a combination of different buildings. Ours had a very high ceiling with a strangely bright white light around the edge of the ceiling. An particular feature is a cellar where guests are invited to drink a glass of wine direct from barrels. There is also an antique car to view. The breakfast is spread over different rooms with a pianist playing. The food and selection is excellent. The Palacio das Esperciarias is very well located in the centre of Lisbon. I would very happily stay again for I like unique and different hotels. The property will never get five stars (for instance the front door closes at 22.00 or 23:00 so entry is by room key), but the experience exceeds that level.
