We were on 7th floor and there was a loud humming noise which went on through the night and spoiled our stay there

The parking was too expensive and not clearly structured. Had to park a block away to go and check in before staff could open the gate which they didn’t. Had to leave the car on the side of the road to go and ask a staff member to unlock it. Was very cramped, not worth £25. There was no space out front to pull in while you check in

Location was great

Had a few issues, you could hear people from the hall very loudly and when the doors shut it was a loud bang. At one point there was a door opening and closing near me which was so loud it sounded as if it was mine. Very unpleasant. Cleaner moved around my stuff while I was out including my passport on table and took my boots bag with receipts in it. I didn't know she would come in and I didn't put the sign on my door for safety reasons as I was a single woman alone. Room very basic, small and had view of a wall basically.

Our room was extremely small, almost no space to move. We also asked for a room on the exterior of the building and we got a room with a very small window on the interior. The price we paid was exorbitant and the room size was unbelievably small. Ratio value for money basically zero (because we cannot give a negative score).

Rooms are small specially for that price. Doors aren’t very soundproof so you can hear people walk by even when they’re whispering specially in the middle of the night. Shower head was leaking.

Perfect location for just about everything you need around the area. Small car park underneath hotel. Air conditioning! Best pillows I’ve ever slept on!!

The room was too small but it wouldn’t stop me from coming back for a 2 day stay.

Friendly helpful staff and nice clean modern facilities

The car park was super awkward! You have to park on hazards, get a member of staff and navigate a very tight carpark. But it is right in the city centre so I guess this may be inevitable.

Reserving a parking space was so simple, just a quick call and it was allocated to me. Checking in and accessing the secure parking was a breeze, the section team were truly amazing. I was initially dealt with by a very polite and professional gentleman. Once I'd tucked my car away for the day Fatima dealt with my check in admin and payment for the parking very quickly and professionaly. Directions to my room were clear and concise. The room was clean and tidy, very welcoming. Breakfast was an eye opener, the allocated area was easily accessible, very clean, and everything was so fresh. So much so I didn't actually want or need the traditional Full Fried Breakfast, I'll now be using the Motel One baseline as my new landmark comparison for future hotel breakfasts!

Not really a dislike, just an observation. . . . Not keen on the reusable plastic cup for use in the room, sadly I prefer my tea and coffee in a proper mug!

Love the location, the cleanliness, the interior design. Huge comfortable bed, room smells nice. Shower is great (walk-in). Close to Piccadilly and Victoria stations, lots of shopping. Lounge area is a great plac3 to sit and have a drink.

The location is excellent; the room was small but good enough to be comfortable; however, the hotel was a little bit noisy. The room could be cleaner. The staff are nice and professional. The breakfast was good, not exceptional but good enough.

Location is excellent. Very close to shops and restaurants. Little to no noise at night in the room. The rooms are compact but you have everything you need. The shower was good although we were puzzled why there no way to stop the water draining out of the sink. The bed was very comfortable. We stayed in room 303.

Staff were friendly when we checked in. However not so much when checking out. The woman on reception was chatting to a colleague and completely blanked us when we handed the key cards in. She couldn't even manage a thank you or have a nice day. We were both surprised by this especially after reading other guest's reviews. We are retired so may have been considered not worth bothering with.

The professionalism displayed by the reception and cleaning team, nothing was too much for this motel. They worked hard to make your stay pleasant. It exceeded a recent 4 star hotel in the area hands down!! Quiet to get a good night sleep. The location was superb, in the heart of town.A huge building 6/7 floors but surprisingly never crowded in lobby areas Very clean and tidy. Breakfast is an array of cold continental(if not your cup of tea - plenty of hot choices in surrounding cafes) Well done.

The window view was a side building but it was very quiet which is what I asked for.

The location was great, nearly everything was a fifteen minute walk. Bed was really comfortable.

We all thought the breakfast was going to be a full breakfast, but unfortunately was just a continental. We didn’t think the price of the room warranted that. We would stay again but just not add breakfast. This should be noted in the description.

Great city centre location close to the train stations. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were lovely.

The breakfast was lovely, but it would be great to have a full English breakfast instead of ham and cheese on a loaf or toast.

No fridge in the room, and it says there's a parking in the room I booked but unfortunately you have to pay parking space.

The reception staff was more than exceptional - they went above and beyond to get the perfect room for us. Bed was super comfy and the whole room was super clean.

Maybe the only thing was the room temperature. It was a bit to hot for us. We are more used to cooler temperatures.

Great location, great facilities! Cocktails were fabulous, and such amazing staff who went above and beyond for us! Great stay will definitely be returning.

The view - or lack of!

Perfect location. Clean and modern. Bed was so comfy and pillow was perfect! Loved that I could turn air con on and have the room nice and cool as well as have the window open enough to get fresh air.

Felt like I needed another lock on the door to feel safer as a solo woman travelling. Shower glass needs a sliding door as glass wasn’t long enough to stop water getting in the floor.

Location was good and near a lot of things we wanted to see. Staff very helpful and friendly. Bathroom shower was good, much better than having a bath.. Parking at site was very handy, if rather expensive. Bed was comfy.

Room was VERY small with very limited clothes hanging space, no other storage and virtually no worktop space. Had to live out of the suitcase and off the floor! We were there for 3 nights. Large window overlooking other buildings, with no net curtain so had to dress and undress with heavy curtains closed and light on.

Central for what we needed-stayed many times at several of the motel ones around manchester & always been good.

One of the staff was rude when we asked for bottled water fir our room she charged us £5.00 previously when we stayed in a superior room the bottled water was included-she was rude & was pulling her face when we mentioned this so we decided we werent paying that amount of money-didnt like her attitude ( young lady needs to be respectful of her elders & learn her manners) However the rest of staff were very good.

AC is centrally controlled with crazy cooling fluctuations epsially around 4 to 6 am which makes the room way to hot and you can't change it unless you you down to reception and sometimes it even stops working for no reason and they have to restart it

Great location! I stay here every time I’m in the city. It’s very convenient for getting around, and it’s also close to where I usually park my car. The staff are always great, and the breakfast is very good. The only reason I gave a lower score for comfort is the room temperature control. The air conditioning and heating are controlled from downstairs, which I personally find inconvenient, as I prefer to be able to adjust the temperature myself. Also, the ventilation in the bathroom doesn’t switch off once the bathroom lights are turned off. Even with the bathroom door closed, it can be quite noisy, especially at night. Apart from these small issues, this is still my favourite place to stay in the city. It offers a great location, good service, and very good value for the price. I’ll definitely continue staying here whenever I visit.

Location was fantastic, very central, lots of restaurants and bars a short walk away. Clean room, large bed, friendly staff. Breakfast was nice despite being continental only. Loved the fact coffee syrups were available!

Weren’t enough plugs as the sockets by the bed had one UK socket and one EUR socket. Great for those visiting the UK but unexpected for UK visitor, had to unplug the lamp to charge phone. Kettle cord was tiny (genuinely about 5cm long) with nowhere convenient to plug it in. Door had to be slammed in order to lock it. Confused us when trying to close the door normally and had to ask staff, felt silly asking but glad we did as someone did try to open our door while we were in the room.

The hotel was in the middle of everything, walkable to shops, restaurants and the centre. We stopped over for a concert and caught the tram to the arena which was only a 10 minute walk away. Cheap stay and even had a car park underneath which was £25 per night !

The staff / location / price / how effortlesss everything was. The staff were so helpful, courteous and polite and made extra effort to help. Even the small things like holding the door when my hands were full really made such a difference. Was all noticed so keep doing exactly what you are because it works. Also the kindness and accommodating manner that my request for an early checkin was handled with. Very grateful and would certainly book again. This was my first stay with motel one and I’m very impressed. Comfortably achieves the business and hotel model that travel lodge, prem inn etc still can’t quite seem to master.
