Huge bed and very welcoming staff! Great breakfast
Nothing
Excellent location
Location and comfortable accommodation, good value food and drink available in restaurant.
Room was a bit tired
Location
Poor room quality, paint work all chipped, toilet cracked sink cracked, bath not sealed, towel rack rusty, shower curtain moldy. No cushions in the room,
The building is full of character, food was amazing and the room was huge and spotless and very well furnished and the price was a bargain
Can’t fault it !
Easy to get to Conwy. Good parking Good food. Lovely big room and large comfortable bed. Big bathroom excellent shower.
Carpets very stained, paint work on window needs attention.
Vacker lantlig miljö med får och natur runt omkring. Historisk huvudbyggnad med mycket charm. Gott om parkering.
Recommended and in turn we shall recommend- your service, food and facilities. Well done.
Nothing.
The location lovely view from the room very quiet. Clean lovely staff and the food was excellent and plenty of it. Will definitely be back.
Can’t think of anything else to say
Always excellent
Breakfast was excellent as was the meal we had the previous evening in the vine covered conservatory. Staff very welcoming. Would absolutely recommend the Greos to friends and family.
Food was good Service from our waitress at evening meal was excellent...(Jane)
Not enough car park spaces for residents on hotel side .. had to park across very busy road & it was raining Not enough lounge seating after our meal Lots of spiders in our toilet ,& beetles . Carpet needs completely renewing
Location and rooms
Dogs in room, hope they are separate rooms,i.e pet friendly rooms only.....
The staff were welcoming and helpful both in the hotel and the restaurant. Breakfast was nice. The views from the room were amazing.
The bathroom was dated and the room was dusty.
Another top quality stay at the groes inn nice size room massive bed great food and plenty of car parking 👍

Lovely place, great location, friendly staff, good food.
Can't think of anything negative.
Great atmosphere. Well positioned with a good sized bedroom and an extra large bed. The room had excellent views across fields to the mountains.

Elise was a member of staff that went above and beyond for us. Thank you for your assistace...much appreciated! As always, The Groes gave us the peaceful retreat we wated - we always come here for the stunning view and the quiet. All staff are super friendly and offer great service. The fan in the room was very much needed and used!
Everything was spot on!
Beautifully clean, lovely views

The Hotel was welcoming, and the bedroom and facilities were clean and comfortable. The hotel had 4 rooms set aside for resident visitors with dogs.
They could have been more generous with tea/coffee and toast at breakfast - but the food was fine
Accommodation clean and comfortable. Good breakfast.
Lovely location and facilities were great. Parking great and EV charger available too. Food and staff and views were great. Bed was comfortable and plenty of drinks available in the room.
Could do with an updated TV, only a few channels…. Would be good to have a tv that can log in to Netflix or other apps.
Exceptional view. Spacious room, comfortable and clean. Hosts were welcoming and professional.
Nothing.
Location. Food choices. Friendly helpful staff
Bathroom and entrance to rooms looking tired & in need of update. We were given tables for dinner that were not in the best situation - near the door on the first night, on a room with a large family group on the second night. Staff did move us immediately on the occasion when asked but we shouldn’t really have been put there on the first place.
Hôtel historique très agréable et très typique d’un pub. Personnel sympathique, belle chambre et très confortable. Bon petit déjeuner et repas.
Un peu cher.
Friendly staff Good breakfast
Great beautiful scenery on the drive down from Conwy Castle. Family of 6 with 1 well behaved dog, Great service throughout. Mains were great. 10/10 for customer service.
The location was beautiful, and the view from the beer garden at the back was amazing. Handy distance from conwy centre (around 5 min drive). The breakfast that was included in the stay had plenty of options and good sized portions. We really enjoyed the obvious history of the Inn and that it had been kept to maintain as many older features as possible.
The majority of the staff were great, very helpful and friendly at check in, meal times and on check out. The only thing myself and my partner noticed one night and made us a feel little uncomfortable was that a couple of the younger wait on staff were a little rude and quite obviously would rather not have been there 😅
Mooie gezellige locatie, met prachtig uitzicht op Snowdonia.
Breakfast good.
Room .spiders or cobwebs in all corners. Fittings very dusty
Excellent welcome and service from the Manager, Assistant Manager and their staff. Bedrooms are spacious, up to date and comfortable. Food provision (breakfast and dinner) equally high quality and the various dining areas are comfortable and spacious. Car parking convenient, both sides of the main road. We never found any problems crossing the main road for access. The friendly, discrete service provided differentiated this place from others for us. Altogether a very pleasant experience to stay and eat here - stayed 2 nights.
Staff where pleasant.
Room 1 Was dirty, dusty and smelt, had air freshener in to mask the smell - which got on my chest making it hard to breathe Bed itchy and uncomfortable Tiles in bathroom black and mouldy Tea and coffee cutlery dirty. Food in restaurant - dogs everywhere - need to be given options where to sit. Flies all over food. At the end of our stay, the staff didn't ask how our stay was, took the key and said bye.
I stayed at the Groes Inn on the 24th July 2026 The staff where pleasant but our stay was not worth the price. People where allowed dogs all over the pub. We did not have pets but where made to eat at the side of a couple with a dog and also had some walk in and had their dog jump up at us whilst eating our dinner. When we got to the room, ( room 1 ) It had air fresheners all around the room. Room full of dust ,the chair was falling to bits, the cutlery was dirty where the tea and coffee was, the bed made me itch and sleep was appalling The bathroom was disgusting and the tiles needed washing. Breakfast, flies on the open food and egg benedick was bland with lacked flavour . When checking our, did not ask how our stay was and just took the key. I will not be staying again and would not recommend.
The staff and the food were excellent
Good location & food.
The whole place could do with a refurd f
Helpful staff, good food & drink at a fair price. Rooms clean and comfortable and a good size.
The Mountain View rooms were worth paying a little more for. The bedroom was beautifully decorated.
Bathroom needs an immediate upgrade. There was a fair amount of black mould, cracked tiles and shower curtain was of the cheapest plastic quality!
Everything ! especieley the weather
Car parking
In a good location with lovely views at the rear, not too far from Conwy etc.
Our bedroom was very hot with only one small fan and no ventilation in bathroom . We find that in most hotels there is nowhere that ladies can sit in comfort to style hair and makeup. Just provide a seat in front of a well lit surface with a mirror. Also a shelf or small table in bathroom to put clothes on while washing.
The view from our room
Very hot, no fans, management rude. We arrived to a very dusty room, curtains wide open lights on, a small but very loud fan blowing hot air The room was hotter than outside. We asked for an additional fan the manger said its the weather? Ill.find you a fan but never came back. There was constant banging from the water tank. At breakfast were were put away from everyone in which we refused. The strive and management were so poor no communication. Other people were complaining to us it. We had no sleep ! Could of been so nice if clean and cool
Lovely pub & friendly staff, our room was clean cosy & comfortable
The noise from the road !
Such a beautiful place. Great views. Close to the town and the parking was good. Delicious breakfast
Nothing
The Groes Inn is in a very good location for exploring the Conwy Valley. The staff were friendly and the food good. We would definitely stay there again.
Friendly staff, amazing evening meals, great views from our bedroom, easy parking
This didn’t really affect our comfort but the bathroom had seen much better days.
Love the location and food choices very good
We loved the wide open views and balcony. The public bar and restaurant were good. The accomodation was clean and spacious ..
Good location. Smart staff and good food big bedroom
Music playing in breakfast room
Well positioned near Conwy - really well appointed room and pub served fab food.

When we arrived we found it to be spotlessly clean and with a beautiful view. We had booked for a week but there was nowhere to place our clothes. Thankfully Shas and Lesley saw we were living out of our suitcases and carried in a chest of drawers and racks for the suitcases. It did take 24 hours and two requests for staff to find a fan which had been stated would be in the room. Most hotel rooms at these prices would be fitted with a fridge this would be very welcome The breakfast table wasn't kept refilled and the staff had a very poor and rude attitude when we asked for it to be re-stocked. We then received a huge bowl of yoghurt a large bottle of milk, delivered straight to our table! I asked if grilled tomatoes were available with bacon and I was served with half a small tomato and 2 slices of bacon. We decided not to eat in the hotel for the following four days even though this would be charged for. The room was said to be fitted out for disabled but there was just a grabrail in the shower area, This meant that I was unable to take a shower as I could not climb into the bath to reach the shower. There is only one space for blue badge holders but this isn't clear, it just needs yellow paint. A very big thank you to Shas, Lesley & Wendy for such kind help in brutally hot weather.
Everything the rooms, the pub, our evening meal was lovely, the fact you could sit outside in the garden and overlook fields, on-site free parking and the breakfast was excellent too. And I loved the quirky vine growing inside the conservatory part of the restaurant.
Nothing.
Very quaint location and setting . Dinner also great . Lots of parking onsite- no pun intended.. Coffee and tea, hot choc and cookies in room.
We were there during extreme heat way and they did provide a fan but it was brutal
We were staying for a week and there was nowhere to place our clothes. We were rescued by the wonderful ladies that looked after our room. They went off and came back with a chest of drawers. Shaz and Leslie you are amazing. You even got us the racks to put the suitcases on. Thank you so much and also Wendy who we met last year and again a few days into this week. Really exceptional kindness during a very hot week.
I have plenty to say but page always out of order. Funny that!
Dinner and breakfast were excellent Room very comfy but we would have liked a portable fridge for medications
Nothing
Big rooms. excellent breakfast, free parking, excellent restaurant onsite, staff are fantastic
very hot rooms in summer
Nice breakfast very good selection to choose.
Fine for us but not suitable for less able many stairs.
Accomadation, ground floor with outdoor seating area ,overlooking a field with lamb's comming to say hello, comfortable bed ,large room ,great food in busy inn ,we booked tables ahead of time for meals.
The breakfast was good, the staff were friendly and attentive. The location was fabulous overlooking rolling hills and lots of sheep. Also, no problem with parking as there is a car park opposite as well.
There is nothing I didn’t like apart from the heat as it was in the middle of a heatwave
colazione ottima, letto molto valido
camera piccola, al mattino assenza di acqua fredda
Food good
Denial over our payments for lunch dinner and drinks cast a cloud over our enjoyment of the stay.
The view and the balcony were amazing. Would be very different on a wet day. The food was excellent, great portions and very tasty.
The room is ready for a refurb.
Great looking from outside old style pub
Inside needs work even lo clean room was a lot smaller than we see online when booking holes in ceiling cracks and flaking paint soon as walk in room not a good look. flaking paint on walls in bathroom room very hot and noisy and beds very hard uncomfortable
Love coming here! Wonderful position...so close to town centre and other attractions, but peaceful and scenic. Staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Always stay here when visiting Wales!
Maybe a little fridge in room, so that complimentary water is cold, in summer and a small bottle of milk would be lovely in fridge too
Excellent location Full of character
No Tv signal Bar closed too early 10pm
We booked a Fathers Day Sunday lunch for 7 pm and by 7.50 pm our order had not arrived. - it was only Sunday dinner so must have been mostly cooked already. Other couples who came after us were being served so we flagged down a waitress who said our order had somehow “vanished” and she would tell the kitchen to prepare it quickly. Our dinner did arrive 10 minutes later but after we had eaten our main course we wanted to order a dessert and coffee. However we were totally ignored by the waitress (mature lady with dark hair) and sat there with dirty plates for more than 10 minutes while the waitress chatted to the table next door. In the end we gave up, paid and left without our dessert and coffee.
Setting,accommodation, food service,cleanliness
There was nothing to not like
From the moment we walked in we were made so welcome, the food was great, service was excellent, the room was great considering the age of the place. The bed was super comfortable and I slept like the proverbial log, breakfast was great too. 10/10
Nothing..
Great place to stay, great food, great setting and ambience, lovely clean place to stay, staff are wonderful .....its a must visit,we will be visiting again...
The food and service was excellent. Staff super good
Super location, central to many North Wales towns and attractions. Rural setting I requested a room at the back of the hotel for quiet. It is on a busy road. Good parking. Our room upper floor- Overlooking the field of sheep and mountain view. Warm welcome, attentive and friendly team who work well together to provide a comfortable stay. The room was clean, no aircon but fan provided. It would benefit from a net or voil curtain to keep out insects. Food is homely, hot and well presented. Good choice and fair price. We will be back.
good countryside location and good base for visit to Bodnant Gardens. Relaxed environment with good food and friendly bar
unfortunately there was a water main issue locally during our stay and on the second night the kitchen was closed and we weren’t informed until after we had had pre dinner’ drink at the bar.
The staff were very friendly , the room very comfortable and the food was excellent.
Although I love dogs I don't particularly like to share a restaurant with barking dogs !
Lovely setting nice views, friendly staff and good food
Excellent GF menu
Interesting place to stay full of character with superb staff so helpful and happy faces. The countryside views are beautiful but on a busy 60mph road so can't really say peaceful. I stayed in room 1 very nice large room ground floor facing the road & car park with a wet room which overflowed everytime used which was annoying as had to use all towels and making slippy.. Which is no good for a disabled person. Cleaners everyday were friendly and good. Food superb.. Excellent choice I booked BB stayed 5 nights bit disappointed as found out afterwards could have been cheaper. Check prices on booking. Com. All in all have a lovely stay visiting beautiful places.
Food was delicious staff extremely professional and courteous friendly. Very dog friendly
Rooms need a little t l c
Really nice place and very friendly staff. Room.was nice and clean.
No complaints come to mind
The breakfast and dinner meals were very nice and the room and bed were very comfortable.
The bedroom furniture had seen a few summers come and go but this was not a real problem.
Staff seemed eager to go the extra mile - a credit to you.
Food seemed pre prepared and heated up. I can have a ready meal at home!
Good selection of pre-hot breakfast food. Lovely full English, heard another table being accommodated with off menu omelette selection. Evening meal good selection reasonably priced with an additional smaller menu with competitive fixed price. Good selection of J.W.Lees ale! Rooms clean and spacious and great shower pressure!!
Nothing
The rooms, whilst a little 'tired' have real country charm, so no points deducted. Really good. Food was excellent as are the staff.
The plumbing is a littel antiquated, but works fine. No loo brush!
Location and friendly staff
Could offer specials board each night.
Location and the size of room.
The bed was awful, none of us slept well.
The Groes is in an excellent position, lovely comfortable rooms, delicious food and wonderful staff!
The location was rural but a great base for exploring Conwy and Llandudo. Bus stop to both locations within very short walking distance and the bus ride to Conwy is only 10-15 minutes. Staff were extremely helpful with any requests we had. We had a room with a terrace that backed onto a field of sheep, which was a lovely and unique experience. Sitting out on the terrace in such a remote setting is incredibly relaxing. Unfortunately it was cloudy during our stay, but on a clear night we can imagine how starry the sky would be for anyone who enjoys observing the night sky. Breakfast both mornings was of an exceptional standard.
Whilst the weather was nice at the time of our stay, the heatwave hadn’t begun yet but the room was stiflingly hot. A standing fan was provided but even that wasn’t enough to have the room cool enough for a pair of Scots.
Prima ligging, vlakbij Bodnantgarden ! Eenvoudige pub uit 1573
Location outlook and style of property. Rooms were excellent, with everything you could need.
Great breakfast, friendly staff
Beautiful view, peaceful setting
Toiletry provisions were lacking. Entrance to rooms, in the stairwell needed a dust and clean.
We enjoyed the food, comfortable room with a great view and lovely big bathroom. I loved the fact that there wrre drawers and a wardrobe instead of just a hanging space and a few shelves which happens so often. The staff.were genuinely friendly and helpful
Room furnishings were a bit tired but the same size room with updated furnishings would probably have cost much more.
Very comfortable big room and two armchairs
Nothing
We loved the location, the excellent service and the great food. The Groes Inn has a very relaxed vibe and nothing is too much trouble for the hard working staff. We woke to the local farmer using 3 of his dogs to herd the sheep in the adjoining field and nearly miised breakfast!! The location overlooking fields and hills is stunning. It was so quiet overnight too so we had an excellent nights sleep.
The room was a bit hot as the sun had been streaming in all day. Maybe close the curtains if possible earlier in the day?
Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff
The Groes was on a busy, main road, whereas the image showed a set back building. As the window had to be kept open in warm weather (no fan) sleep was disturbed. On a very busy evening, food served had missing elements eg prawn &avocado salad had no avocado. A main meal offering spinach had no spinach!!! Other nights were fine.
Brilliant service, stunning location, excellent food
Nothing!
The Mountain View
No pavement on the road that runs past it
Beautiful location. View from the bottom back room was spectacular. Loved the sheep in the field.
