Lovely clean room with a mezzanine and delightful view of the river. Comfortable bed with requested feather pillows which were perfect.
Nothing of note.
Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere.
Carpets were tatty, one of the lights in the room didn't work. Shower was old. We were told we would have to pay extra for breakfast, despite when checking in them telling us breakfast was included.
Comfy, friendly staff, central location, great beer.
Loved the warm welcome and staff were so friendly and helpful
Just wish there was a few more vegan options. We had the Sunday roast and my friend had the veggie and I had the vegan, yet they were the same price even though I didn’t get the Yorkshire pudding as wasn’t vegan, they could’ve added something to the vegan dish to compensate, like extra veg or something else. I didn’t feel that was fair.
Great location on the river and Super friendly staff from the time we checked in to our breakfast waitress. Olivia was one of the most cheerful and friendly person I have ever met to send us off for the days activities. That girl needs a raise!
Lovely quality bedding. Friendly staff. Lovely products. Menu was limited but nice pizza, could make more vegetarian choices.
I struggled to park at the hotel and had to park away from the hotel in the train station. Although we had a fan it was extremely hot and the window would only open a fraction. Lighting in room very dark.
We booked a night at Timbrell's yard as a stop on our Kennet & Avon canal. As we reached this hotel, right off the canal towpath and literally on the river Avon. Despite seeing pictures on-line, as we approached the hotel we got giddy at how pretty it seemed from the outside, and once we entered, the interior was more than a match to the outside! The hostess / receptionist greeted us warmly and showed us to our quaint rooms, which had classical music playing from a cute radio upon arrival. Each room was equipped with a silent fan, very useful for hot days! The design of every space we experienced was jyst absolutely incredible! We were blown away by the attention to detail. I am already trying to taylor another holiday around staying here :)
The location. Close to town and the river.
Staff wasn’t very friendly and helpful. Tea cups that was served to me was dirty and had stains in the cups. When I asked for another because of the dirty teacups there was no apologies offered for the dirty teacups served.
The room was unique with the bedroom and bathroom on a higher level. the room did require a little TLC, toilet had a leak, which looked like a temporary silicone fix had been applied and could do with a general paint refresh. The air con was an added bonus but as the top window was left open with no way to close it, I am not sure it was working to its full potential. Breakfast and Dinner was lovely with amazing staff, although I received an incorrect order at breakfast and the service at dinner was extremely slow. The location was amazing and outdoor space gorgeous, as it was such a hot summer weekend it was really busy.
Covered above.
Beautifully decorated room and bathroom. Very comfortable and made perfect with aircon! Loved the toiletries too. Staff were all really friendly and helpful.
Breakfast scrambled eggs over cooked. Otherwise all good.
mezzanine rooms on the river are fab and have aircon a life saver when we stayed in the heatwave Comfy beds super shower
Everything was, as usual, excellent OTHER than the cooked breakfast. A new cook and it shows, cold and not properly cooked. Put me off having breakfast for the rest of my stay
We were blown away by the great look of Timbrell but moreso by the totally enjoyable and professional staff. The food was also great, including the breakfast and the pop up bakery and we loved the many entrees and cocktails we had. Thank you
This hotel is in a perfect location for exploring Bath and the surrounding countryside. Great walks from the door of the hotel. Two minutes walk to the train station which takes you directly into Bath Spa. The staff are friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel.
Relaxing hotel just two minutes walk from the Railway Station. Plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance, as well as lunch and dinner options at Timbrell's Yard. Friendly reception and bar staff. I would strongly recommend and so close to Bath.
Very near to where we needed to go Lovely room Helpful staff
Roast on Sunday - Yorkshire puddings had been sitting there all day and were dried out and more like a biscuit - very disappointing
everything went very well indeed
Great staff. Good room
Parking limitations
Great location
Beautiful setting, just by the river. Lovely terrace to sit & have a drink . Interior was tastefully done. Our room was spacious & nicely adorned.
Nothing to dislike
Fantastic Location right in the centre of town
We first visited Timbrells Yard 5 yrs ago and had an amazing boutique hotel experience so we rebooked this year for a special occasion gifted to my parents. Sadly standards have slipped. The general decor of the hotel now looks tired and neglected. Staff, whilst pleasant and accomodating are now ununiformed and either have not been trained or are not encouraged to present the hotel as a premium destination. Tables and glasses go uncleared, what were exclusive outdoor tables are open to non-guests (and friends of the hotel staff in the evenings) on shabby furniture and where the food was previously a gastronomic adventure, it is now no better that what can be found in many of the local cafes and pubs for half the price. £20 per person for a bulk standard breakfast ... really? It all feels a bit 'emperors new clothes' all be it with a hefty designer price tag.
Good location lovely staff
Great location and setting. Well equiped, clean and very comfortable rooms.
Loved it. Staff were great, really nice room, lovely breakfast. Location was fantastic too. Will be back!
The staff was friendly and very helpful! Bravo for customer service! The room was perfect for our needs. Enjoyed the view from our window. The bar and restaurant were amazing. Breakfast was wonderful.
We were a group of 8 walkers and stayed for 2 nights, we had a fantastic experience. Everything went smoothly from checking in to paying our bills, something I was particularly worried about given how complicated it can be. All the staff were so cheerful and the service was superb. All our meals were really excellent and we especially appreciated the standard of the breakfasts, we couldn't have wished for better. Early sunny evening drinks on the terrace by the river will live long in the memory, we couldn't have wished for a better venue.
A great find. Friendly, welcoming hotel. Fun atmosphere in bar area and we had one evening on terrace in sunshine which is a very pretty spot. Quality breakfast and bedroom clean with comfy bed, great shower. Pop up bakery a welcome addition - to have fresh cakes in our bedroom on arrival and bread to take home on Sunday. Saw new pizza oven which we didn't try but the pizzas looked great.
Excellent location. Lovely river walks in picturesque town.
Parking limited. No wardrobe in bedroom.
Miserable staff. Lad behind bar sarcastic with quips trying to show off to his friends drinking at bar. Curt responses to genuine questions put to him. I’m over 60 and he is my son’s age and if my son spoke to me like that he would lose his inheritance. Trying to humiliate me got him nowhere. The lad needs some retraining as he is a dolt.
Timbrell Yard - we really enjoyed staying at the hotel for 3 nights. There is something special with Timbrell Yard in addition to excellent beer, wine & food, room standard and other facilities. The special effect or the X-factor is the smiling, helpful and pleasant hotel staff. Made our visit to a extra ordinary visit, not only to Timbrell Yard but also to Bradford on Avon visit. Really a customer centric experience. Thanks to the Timbrell Yard team - a high performance team.
Great hotel and amazing staff!
We stayed at Timbrell's yard and found the entire experience disappointing. We arrived and were really happy at the location on the canal. It was pretty and had a real buzz in the beer garden. However.. There was confusion over parking, when we were sent to the station initially, although there was designated parking on site. This was resolved however frustrating and time consuming. The hotel is not 4 star. They ran out of basic wine choices. The shower literally snapped in my hand, very low quality. The kitchen staff were cooking in view and were constantly running theirhands through their hair, whilst prepping food!! Breakfast was again another disappointing. The only plus was the lovely friendly girl in the breakfast service who brightened our day.
Very disappointing - fell short of our expectations in nearly all aspects. Too much style over basic substance (too small bed-size, uncomfortable, no fridge, not much wardrobe space, poor bath/shower room design and construction).
We stayed here for a long weekend and it was ideal - the staff are great, rooms are comfortable and well equipped (nice toiletries provided) and the restaurant was great for both breakfast and dinner in the evenings. I asked about a different pillow after the first night, and it was there waiting for me when we got back, so that was perfect. If I had one complaint, it would be that the room was a little stuffy, even with the window open, but there is aircon which we could have used, but chose not to, so that was on us really.
Fantastic location, exceptional service (the staff were brilliant), and lovely rooms. The place was very clean and tidy, with great facilities. The only issue is the limited amount of onsite parking, but aside from that it was a lovely stay.
Excellent location. Great facilities. Exceptional service. The stand-out aspect for me was the friendly, helpful staff. It was the best service I have experienced in a long time.
Parking was very limited.
Central to Bradford & location
Nothing in particular
Beautiful room with an amazing bath near the window, comfortable bed and nice view
When we entered the room there was a smell of disinfection (chlorine or something like that) and it was really strong, we asked to do something with it but seems everyone had forgotten about it and didn’t do anything As well there was strong noise while using the shower - seems something was broken and not worked perfectly well
On the river in the centre of town. Brilliant staff. Worth a particular mention is the waitress at breakfast, who we found to be so consistently positive and happy. She really set us up for the day also of note. The dinner food quality and service quality are highly recommended
A convienience turned-out to be an unexpected pleasure. What was intended to be nothing more than a stop-over, prior to an early tee-time at Cumberwell Park, proved to be a good ‘find’ and one to which I am likely to return for a longer stay.
We've stayed at Timbrells Yard three times now and will be booking again. Fabulous location on the river, in the centre of Bradford-on-Avon, great food, nicely decorated rooms in keeping with its history and the staff couldn't be nicer.
Girls weekend away in Bradford on Avon staying for one night at Timbrell's Yard hotel. Booked directly with the hotel to get breakfast inclusive deal. Two twin rooms booked, all very efficient on the phone and follow up emails. Car park spaces limited but we were able to get 2 and check in was easy and very welcoming. Special thanks to Jamie who was very helpful and attentive throughout our stay. Rooms very stylish and plenty of nice touches including Nespresso coffee machine. Did not eat dinner there as we wanted to eat in town but breakfast was excellent, varied menu of hot food as well as cold buffet items to help ourselves. Service good. Only a couple of negatives. The bar ran out of some cocktail ingredients on Saturday evening. On Sunday before leaving we ordered a late lunch at 2.45pm consisting of 2 Burrata and tomato salads and a portion of chips. Waited ages and had to chase up, took over half an hour. Although the salads were tasty there were only 2 half cherry tomatoes on each. I was over charged by £11 though when I went back to the bar to check the bill the error was refunded immediately. All in all an excellent stay, but bar service could be improved.
A lovely hotel, very clean, fantastic rooms, and lovely staff. A choice of breakfast, which was freshly cooked to order, beautifully presented and very tasty. Lovely location by the river with outdoor seating. Would highly recommend.
Very nice hotel, friendly staff, and a fantastic location. Bath and Bristol within easy reach, and lots of National Trust properties nearby.
Excellent choice for breakfast, and was delicious. The room ( double mezzanine) was great, with a fantastic view.
Wish I could have watched tv in the comfy chairs, but it was upstairs so could only watch lying on the bed.
I had a very pleasant stay at Timbrell's Yard. The staff were happy to accomodate my request to be able to access my room earlier than the standard time of 15:00 which was helpful given I had an event commencing at 14:00. Restaurant and bar also good with a nice terrance overlooking the river.
Lovely hotel. Friendly staff, great room - very quiet and overlooked the river. Really nice breakfast and dinner. I would recommend staying here.
Old yet modern
We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and the food was beautifully cooked. The location is very attractive.
The first room I was offered was very small and right next to the air conditioning unit which was very noisy. I asked for a change and was given a lovely room with a mezzanine and a view of the river. The Full breakfast wasn’t great. Everything was a little overcooked. The fruit and pastries on offer were very limited. The croissants ran out and were not replenished. There was no bread. The bar closed at 10 pm, even for residents which was very disappointing.

Been here before,Still excellent, will be back again,Lovely walks in the area,And close to bath for sightseeing
Great location/hotel to leave the car and walk . Staff, rooms, and breakfast very good standard we will definitely return for a short break
Excellent produce and excellent service.
Just a trivial point but would have liked a socket next to the mirror!
Excellent team and food, great location, nicely refurbished building, good drinks selection and reasonable prices. Room 207 was very comfortable, quite spacious, excellent en-suite shower room. Slight downsides with the room were no view, limited clothes hanging with no wardrobe and small chest of drawers, noise from ventilation system and room was quite hot unless air conditioning was on. We would return if we visit beautiful Bradford on Avon again, but look at other room options.
My husband and I met up with a group of friends for the weekend and we really enjoyed our stay at Timbrell's Yard. The staff were very pleasant and our mezzanine room was really unusual. There was a seating area as we entered the room, with windows overlooking the river. A wooden staircase leads up to the bedroom area and the shower room was off that so no worries about having to negotiate the staircase in the night. It was lovely and we felt very lucky because nobody else in our party had a similar room. We hadn't included breakfast in the booking but we were able to add it on the day and we were given different price options. We both went for the full English and it was great. BOA is very pretty, with lovely walks by the river but we were a bit disappointed there weren't more shops to browse round.
Style - it’s very nicely blended old and new. Lovely location
Early morning the metal door under our room scrapes across the floor- but that is one fault among many good points
We stayed in room 205, which is described on the website as a "large double". On entering the room we were a bit disappointed as the room wasn't that big and the shower room described as "large" on the website was actually quite small. However, these niggles were made up for by the stunning view of the river out of the window. The staff here were all lovely but we did feel attention to detail could be improved as the fizz and chocolates we booked for the room were forgotten and we had to request them. I would stay here again but perhaps next time I would specifically request one of the rooms with a free standing bath.
Attractive building, well designed room though as we chose poverty spec only had view of a drain & fence with the sound of the kitchen extractor. Breakfast was included and the quality of ingredients / cooking was very good, however service was much less impressive, a shame as did detract.
Friendly Staff and thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. Followed Town Trail map and explored the very scenic and historic Town without the need of a car.
A lovely, quirky hotel with friendly staff and great food. The rooms are all individually decorated and well equipped. The pop-up bakery was a bonus on Friday morning!
Enjoyed a perfectly cooked Sunday Lunch, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Lovely setting for sitting outside in better weather.
this dog friendly pub and restaraunt was busy/popular and I can see why. We had excellent service throughout a 2 night stay and the food and accomodation pleased everyone. Breakfast was particularly good
Location, good design, dog friendly.
Nothing
The hotel and staff are lovely and the location made it possible to go for a walk along the river each morning. The room was large, clean and very comfortable and the food at breakfast excellent.
The warm welcome I received by one of your waiting staff (early in the morning Saturday 21st Feb 2026) made me feel special and valued considering I was a solo guest, the lady remembered my name and made sure I was taken care of, very attentive service. I did not catch the lady's name but she was bubbly and dark haired! The room was lovely, I did not book a river view but to my delight I was upgraded which made the stay memorable and relaxing. Thank you!
Lovely hotel on river. Walk to bath from outside. Great friendly staff. Lush breaky. Noisey rooms in mornings ..earplugs provided. Great window seat over looking river. Idealic break
Fabulous spot for a two night break with friends. Breakfast were excellent. Sunday lunch very good. Rooms comfy and clean.
The Sunday roast came highly recommended, so I booked a late Sunday lunch for the family to enjoy. Very disappointed, the service was slow, we waited half an hour for a drinks menu, then another half an hour before they took our food order. When we did receive our meals, it was very dry and not tasty.
Cosy interior, comfy furnishings, beautiful building , friendly staff
Had fantastic stay lovely modern room and excellent restaurant and food Really friendly helpful staff and parking for our van
Very well placed for wandering around the town. We had lunch and breakfast both of which were excellent. All the staff team were very friendly - exactly how you want people to be.
I ordered the vegetarian Thai red curry main during my visit. The dish was served cold and lacked any flavour. The portion size was extremely small, containing only a tiny amount of chickpeas and two very small florets of cauliflower. It was not filling and did not represent good value for the price charged. I left still hungry and had to eat again afterwards. Overall, a very disappointing meal.
Extremely disappointing. The Thai red curry was served cold, almost entirely devoid of flavour, and astonishingly small in portion. The dish contained only a token amount of chickpeas and exactly two small florets of cauliflower. Despite being priced comparably to a steak, it was barely sufficient as a starter. I left the restaurant still hungry and had to buy food again once I got home. This represents very poor value and a complete lack of care in both preparation and pricing
Great Location, cozy pub and restaurant with good food and drinks. Rooms are well equipped.
The bed was a bit smaller than expected. Maybe the English standard double bed size is a it smaller than on the continent…
Warm, professional staff. Fab room overlooking the river. Food good and bar service good. Will definitely return.
Homely, comfortable, dog friendly

Nice hotel inn near Bath
Breakfast was very expensive
A friendly, warm atmosphere with an individual style.
The price of the breakfast menu could have been clearer. The breakfast, though, was still good.
Excellent and helpful staff. Warm, cosy atmosphere and environment. Fabulous room. Comfy bed. Lovely toiletries

Fabulous staff, interesting restaurant where everything on the menu was appealing. Nice looking bar although we didn’t try it. Very comfortable rooms with excellent bedlinen and pillows. Lovely view of the river &Town from the window.
Parking can be tricky. Only six or so space is outside the hotel but parking is available in the station car park about five minutes walk away.
The ambiance & wonderful staff
The shower
Clean. Good location. Helpful friendly staff. Excellent customer service.
Had to pay extra for breakfast
Hotel was clean and comfy. Close to the station.Staff were helpful and chatty. Breakfast was the best we have had in a long time. Would definitely recommend and return.

Great location. Nice room. Wonderful towels!
It's only a small point, but the breakfast, nice that it was, did seem a bit expensive.
Location excellent
Bedroom was up a flight of stairs which was odd to say the least.
Breakfast for 2
