We were sent to have fantastic local food at local area, superb. Although the hotel is not surrounded by examples like itself- Bedrock is very comfortable. The staff couldn’t be more helpful. If I was to make one hint, to have more Western options at breakfast like fruit and yogurt. Debbie and Mr Lee were great hosts who will no doubt help in any way
Excellent service and stay. Owner is friendly and gave us lots of tips of getting around. Location is superb! Will be back again!
1) The hotel and the rooms was very clean and presentable. 2) Staff was very friendly and approachable. They recommended some places and foods nearby. 3) The room's facilities was very good. The room and the bathroom is very big and spacious. 4) Lot's of food choices around the area. And the convenience store is also nearby. Shopping mall Ipoh Parade also quite near. My family including me really liked this place and will definitely come back here.
Perfect rooms in a small hotel with a wonderful and caring staff. Beautiful artwork throughout the hotel.
Hosts were excellent
Great hotel- We would stay again and recommend to friends. Easy parking and breakfast had options to suit everyone.
Staff was very friendly, very walkable although we had a car. Good parking. Very pleasant stay.
It is close to everything
Quite convenient to go around like shopping and dining with the hotel staff is friendly.
Such a warm and lovely reception from the owner. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Lots of personality! Breakfast and coffee, not so great. Highly recommended!
The bedrock hotel is a great place to stay and Debbie the manager and all the staff are wonderful. The hotel is spotless and the breakfast was really nice. Good choice of western and Malaysian and buffet. If you visit Ipoh this is the place to stay
An amazing little treasure in Ipoh! I'm so glad to have found this fascinating boutique hotel owned by Debbie and her husband. She gave us a warm welcome and was so helpful with everything. The nasi lemak and white coffee at breakfast was super shiok too! It's close to the old town, and there are lots of food options all around. I highly recommend the Bedrock Hotel if you're travelling to Ipoh.
Very nice place with terrific staff and owners (they recommended a spa and helped with the arrangements and transportation and recommendation was spot on). A little bit of a walk to the Old Town and in the heat, that matters.
Best place in Ipoh for a stay.
Their king size bed feels much bigger than the usual king size, which is awesome! Love their Nasi Lemak at breakfast, especially the chilli! Delicious! Don’t forget to grab an apple/ orange on your way out after breakfast!
Conveniently located hotel with large rooms in good renovated condition. The proprietress Debbie is very friendly and gives excellent recommendations.
Big, spacious, clean rooms, well decorated and nice ambience. TV wasn't working but excellent place for a night's stay or two. Quiet environment.
Great location. Walking distance to lots of good food! Luxurious cozy clean comfortable and spacious room Has everything a traveller needs for comfort and more including a hot cold water dispenser and a coffee machine. Toilet has a bidet and a lovely clean bath tub in addition to a rain shower! Breakfast provided was good too!
The highlights were the superb bedroom with a very comfortable bed, power shower and so much space. A free room safe, a coffee machine and plenty of storage options. We also found the staff were super friendly giving us great advice and cheerful greetings. The only negative was the limited breakfast choices
Cosy and friendly staffs and boss. Room is spacious and well decorated
Wonderful hotel to stay. The room is huge and all the staff are so welcoming. Walking distance to many food places and Concubine Lane. Will be back again.
Excellet service by Debbie and Yee and the rest
A boutique hotel that is in a good location. Warm and hospitable staff, especially Mr.Yee and Debbie. The duplex room we were in was big, clean and the beds and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was just right to get the day started. Will difinitely stay here on our next visit.
Amazing and excellent. Staff are very friendly and very helpful. Provide very personal service. Within Walking distance to all famous and authentic foods and desserts. The food does not need room service, because it’s all self contained with amentities.
Quirky hotel which was excellent. The staff were great. We booked a suite which was spacious and clean. A walk to the main street only took a few minutes. Highly recommend.
We enjoyed our stay at Bedrock. It was a very large and comfortable room. Staff were great and only a short walk to the new and old towns. Enjoyed the artworks. However, some of the maintenance done to the room is a little amateurish, especially in the bathroom. But nothing so serious that I would not stay here again, just a bit quirky.
Lovely boutique hotel with excellent staff and services. Though breakfast was simple, it was delicious. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Limited rooms so need to book early.
Very interesting boutique hotel converted from shophouse. Spacious rooms with great air con and water pressure. The hot/cold dispenser in room is useful. Big super king bed like Marriott. Debbie and staff are all friendly and very helpful. Recommended.
Location is good and staff are very nice and professional
Hotel is excellent. Very clean and excellent service. Staff very friendly. Close to main eateries.
Thought I have walked in to an art gallery the moment I entered the main entrance. This hotel has lots of rocks and modern art pieces display in common area as well as in room. We were welcome by friendly Debbie and Mr Yap. They deserved a service excellence award! Hot and cold water dispenser as well as expresso coffee machine (with 2 capsule) is a plus point. There is also a big bath tub though not eco-friendly. My wife left her mobile phone in the room on 2nd day of our stays. The room was cleaned when we are back in the afternoon. Her mobile phone still on the table untouched. Thanks to the honest room staff🙏
It is a 10 rooms boutique hotel. Service is personalised and the location is very good. Walking distance to good food.
Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. The room was huge. The hotel was very well kept. Lots of food options in the immediate area.
Friendly staff, large comfortable room
Clean hotel in a quiet street in Ipoh New Town (not the more bustling Old Town). Hotel manager was friendly and gave us a walkthrough of all the major attractions in Ipoh using a map. Plenty of car park spaces in front of the hotel and v easy to get a GrabCar. Breakfast spread was modest but still filling.
Was surprised how spacious the room is and things are really clean with water filter system in the room and main dining area. Service was really great. Will definitely stay here again if we are back to Ipoh.
When we arrived the hotel was closed to all other guests as they had plumbers in replacing the pipework, and furniture was stacked in the corridors. During the first night of our three nught stay, the new pipework leaked above our bathroom ceiling and soaked our toiletry and cosmetic bags and their contents. We were told that we couldn't move to another room because the hotel was reopening a couple of days later and was fully booked. I dont really understand the logic behind that. The second night was uneventful as the plumber had returned to fix the leak, but during the third evening the air conditioner unit started leaking quite a lot of water onto the floor. An aircon fitter was summoned to fix it whilst we were waiting to shower to go out for the evening. I really cannot understand the rave reviews for this place. It is in a scruffy street. The windows are filthy, there was a horrible artificial fibre shag pile rug on the floor that was matted with who knows what. The breakfast was average with stale cereals and "long life" pastries. It would have been much better for both them and us if they had cancelled our reservation once they realised that workmen would be in the hotel during our stay. I can only guess that they wanted our money.
Bedrock Hotel is small, but it made happy while I stayed at this hotel. My room was very clean and spacious (I booked Bedrock Suite). All the staff members are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was not fancy, but it was delicious. It is a wonderful hotel.
good stay
Smaller style boutique hotel fairly centralized. ALL members of staff were extremely friendly especially Debbie who I assumed was the owner as she was also helpful. A quaint Breakfast was included in our stay. Definitely would stay again & highly recommend Bedrock Hotel 👍
Location was fab. In new town, very near lots of traditional eating places as well as a modern precinct with lots of food choices. 15 mins walk from old town. Hotel is beautifully decorated. Lots of seating and art on common spaces and in rooms. Our room (201) was huge. The bed was large and so comfortable with good quality linen. The bathroom was also large with a bath and shower with good water pressure and two sinks. Staff were helpful. Debbie greeted us with lots of good recommendations. Ji (sorry if spelt wrong) was also great in getting us a cab to the caves (only 10 MYR) and explaining the Grab app. Deserves the many awards it has been awarded
We had a very nice 3 night stay at this hotel. Breakfast was fine, staff were very friendly and helpful, a/c was excellent, bathroom and shower were great, bed was large and comfortable. Very convenient to restaurants, a reasonable walk to old town. Grab is very cheap if you don’t want to walk there.
Excellent staff service. We were informed of what we could do in Ipoh, where were the best dining restaurants, etc., without these tips, our trip could not be so perfect.
Good location in the city centre. A short walk to two famous Ipoh Tauge chicken shops, desserts shops and local delicacies shops. We bumped into a furniture and decor outlet like IKEA across the road. We had some pretty good buys due to the anniversary sales The owner and staff at the hotel were very helpful when we check in, check out and during our stay.
...in the new town area of Ipoh, less than a 15mins drive from Ipoh airport. Upon arrival I was warmly greeted by the staff, and Debbie was the perfect host. All the recommendations were spot on for what I was looking for. As a solo traveller this was very much appreciated as Debbie knew what would be ideal for me, and so it was! Breakfast was east or western and was prepared on demand, along with a selection of pastries. And the rooms were comfy and spacious, with water and coffee machines. Walkable to the old town and the lanes (20 mins), and less than a 10 min walk to the pedestrianised area with restaurants and shops to stock up on gifts for back home, plus the famous Ipoh white coffee! Plus a two min walk from the Woong Kee bean curd stall! After having left an item in the taxi to the airport, Debbie and her team got it back to me in Singapore - hand delivered once I managed to track it down. The team went above and beyond and provided a truly end to end service. I would definitely stay here again.
We wish we could have added another night to our 2-night stay but due to national holiday Bedrock was fully booked. It is not surprising because the boutique hotel is truly a gem in Ipoh. It other unique feature is if you are into Geological rocks… this hotel is a must for you! Firstly, upon check-in the owner Debbie instantly showcased her genuine and sincere warmth to us to welcome us to her hotel. We simply love her enthusiasm, energy and charming personality. Her team member including Yee was excellent and enjoyable to talk to. Room was a very good size for a boutique hotel and bed was king size and came even with two comfortable bolsters! Showering unit is excellent, has nespresso unit plus one of the only unique in-room instant cold and hot water dispenser anywhere! Cozy and quiet unit and the decor was tastefully designed and very functional. Debbie was simply very helpful and her warmth personality made you want to truly explore and experience Ipoh even more. We truly love our stay and would highly recommend Bedrock.
We are a family with 2 children (4 yo and 7 mths old baby). The water dispenser in the room was very convenient for us with little children. Location is also very near many good food. And finally, the staff / owner was extremely accommodating and helpful. We felt very welcomed and look forward to staying here again.
Many good eateries within the vicinity. The owner is always around to give very good suggestions as to what to eat and where to visit. They are very kind and helpful. The 4day 3 night stay was excellent! 👍👍👍
friendly staff, giving recommendation for places of interest and great food :)
The bed is the best. Super king size bed. And it feels very intimate. You can access to everywhere of the hotel like you're home (except other people's room). They have very nice deco in the room. Just one down side is the water pressure not too strong. Other than that, all good.
Our 2nd time here.Good location, many eateries nearby. Owners and staff are friendly and gave fantastic service. Definately will stay in this hotel when we are in Ipoh.
The owner runs the hotel in great effort. The decorations are full of modern fine arts characteristics.
Fantastic stay even for 1n as I m back for CM festival. Worth every single buck here
Convenient and central location in the heart of the small city centre. Close to local eateries. Love the shophouse boutique style hotel run by a family. Local & western breakfast provided too.
Excellent boutique hotel in Ipoh. Friendly and very helpful owner. Fantastic location. Highly recommended.
Amazing people passionate about their small boutique hotel. Highly recommended.
Bedrock Hotel is within walking distance of many popular F&B outlets and the historic Ipoh Old Town. The rooms are large and the service is fantastic with owners Chong and Debbie always ready with advice on places to go.
Pros- nice room with water cooler. Near to the street with lots of nice food. Private parking area. Cons- unsightly 5S with bedsheet, towels for room make up are all over the place at common area
It looks like a small shop house hotel, but when you step inside, you will be surprised by how modern, clean and spacious the place is !
Excellent & friendly service provided by Debbie and her husband. Nice, comfortable, spacious and very well designed hotel. Highly recommend.
The staff at Bedrock make sure that your stay is as comfortable as possible and are happy to share knowledge of Ipoh to ensure you get the best experiences. The hotel is also in a quiet location but still close to town making it easy to get around. It was also very clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend and would want to stay here again.
Great place to stay in Ipoh, the room was comfortable, great bathroom and clean.Staff attentive and helpfull.Good location and value for money. Nothing to complain.Thank you Debbie for the great stay. Would come back again.
Highly recommended if you are looking for a cosy budget hotel. Rooms are spacious and quite clean.
Good location and is within walking distance to Ipoh old town (about 15 mins) and less than 5 mins walk to the restaurants located in Ipoh new town e.g. bean sprouts chicken. The restaurant owner is very friendly and can answer all your questions about Malaysia. Will definitely stay again when I visit Ipoh next time.
The hotel is clean and cozy, centrally located within walking distance to the Mural Art, Concubine Lane, Tong Sui Kai.
This is only a small hotel but it tries to offer a memorable stay. The in-room espresso machine and water dispenser (hot and cold) is a lovely touch. Good selection of tv channels (particularly if you are a sports fan). We had a front facing room and it was quite noisy and the curtains are not blackout ones so the advertising lights from outside was a little irritating. The street wakes up early so little chance of a lie-in. The staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast was simple - we were offered eggs, sausages, hash brown, beans and chopped tomatoes. You can have bread/toast/croissaants, cereal and free flow tea or coffee. Will stay here again if we are in Ipoh.
A really good hotel - clean, pleasant, and great location - easy walking to restaurant district. Staff were extremely nice and helpful. Highly recommended.
The service provided by the owner and her husband was warm, friendly and very useful. Ipoh was made much more enjoyable because of their recommendations. The wine and whiskey bar was a bonus
Very nice rooms in this boutique hotel. We stayed a night there. In the middle of the town, so walking distance for food. Friendly owner.
Room very clean Friendly & helpful staff Convenient location Definitely come back again 👍👍👍👍👍👍
This hotel is amazing!! Debbie and her team are fabulous. We are so glad that our friends recommended this - it is in the top 3 hotels we have stayed in in Malaysia! We will be back!!
The double-storey family room is spacious and cozy. 2 toilets are very big. It is fantastic to have Coway drinking water dispenser and Nespresso coffee maker provided in the room. The location is very good. All good local food and shops are in 5min driving distance. The hotel owner and staff are very friendly.
Inside the building is well renovated. Room is large with large bathroom with a tub. Coway water filter was installed in the room. Owner operated. Breakfast provided. Free parking in front of the building. Recommend.
We enjoyed our stay. The ambience was impeccable and welcoming. It is in a middle of the city with walking distance to some of the highlights in Ipoh. Greeted and assisted by Mr.
Awesome place. Well kept. Fully equipped. It even provides a nespresso machine and Coway water dispenser.
A lovely and comfortable place to stay. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended👍.
We decided to stay at this place because of the great review. The hotel is near to town and many of the legendary food outlets of Ipoh. Staffs are very friendly and helpful with any advise. The breakfast was cooked to order. Few things can be improved though. You can hear traffic noise early in the morning even when my room is facing the back. The water pressure at the shower head can be quite low though the pressure at the sink was good. Not sure why. The sofa in the room (0205) may need some cleaning. After sitting there for a few minutes, my thigh itched as if it was bitten by some bugs. Otherwise, the stay was fantastic.
Absilute delight to be received by owners and staff alike in such a jovial and helpful manner, one is immediately inclined to stay on (which we did). Can highly recommend this place in Ipoh .. a bit hard to find on public transport, but hej, this is part of travellin' ooroo Helsinki from Sweden
Spacious room, convenient location that in a walking distance to the old streets. With hot/cold drinking water machine inside the room is a credit. Very helpful and friendly staff.
The layout of the room is smart and elegant. Room is very clean, two sinks a plus, big shower stall also very nice. There is also a hot and cold water machine, and the coffee machine is upscale. The whole hotel is tastefully decorated. Staff service is excellent! Breakfast is simple but adequate. The location is not prime but pretty convenient to restaurants and shops.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Shared good information with us. Run like a family business.
Friendly staff and cosy environment. Location is great and near to all major eateries and attractions.
Lovely and clean place. We met the owner who was friendly and able to provide us with the “tourist” information that we needed. Staff also put in extra mile by giving us early breakfast on the day of our departure and even arranged transport for us to send us to the airport.
Modern design and amenities in an old town. It has a very cozy feeling once you step into the hotel lobby. The checkin counter didn’t look like one. Just felt like a bar counter. Checkin was a breeze and the room was clean with very interesting amenities like hot/cold water dispenser, coffee machine etc
We loved everything about this hotel, from the complimentary pick up and return to the train station to the great breakfast. The quality of the room decor and amenities were fantastic. The friendly helpful staff gave us very good sightseeing advice. It felt like we were staying in a museum. Walking distance to the sights.
Close to train station with free pickup and drop.Walking distance to good Chinese street food.Easy to do daytrip to the Cameron Highlands by taxi. Breakfast was adequate.
Love the unique design, spacious room, very friendly staff and helpful. Will come back to stay.
Only 10 rooms in this boutique hotel. The interior is elegant, staffs are friendly and helpful. Check in was quick and the staff directed us to our room, briefed us thoroughly on the amenities. Huge room, spacious bathroom with shower area and bath tub. They have a guard to patrol around as you need to park your car along the roadside. Their breakfast is cook on demand. We were late for breakfast in the morning, but they were nice enough to offer coffee, toast and croissant.
spacious room and toilet. elegant design. warm hospitality
The proprietor Debbie has the human touch and she makes all guests feel welcomed and valued. She will readily provide tips on places to visit and eat at. She's the face of Bedrock!
Well renovated. Debbie at reception desk is a very cheerful and helpful person. Full of joy. Her recommendations were good, for food and places of interest. The paintings and decorations defined the place. Could be better if the breakfast is not the same ingredients everyday - 2 sausages, baked bean, egg and hash brown.
Our1st trip to Ipoh with my 74 yrs old mum n sister. The Airasia flight was delayed but the staff told us flew off. We could not find any next available flight to Ipoh. i contacted Bedrock, Lady boss Debbie. She responded very quickly to my watsapp and very helpful. She suggested us to fly to KL (many flights) where she will arrange a driver to pick us up at KL airport to Ipoh. Running around at the airport for hours with my 74 yrs old mum while trying to sort things out with Airasia and hoping to book a flight to KL was a nightmare. Our scheduled flight suppose to reach ipoh abt 1.20pm and If Airasia has informed us of the delay flight, we will reach Ipoh around 5pm. But after a long journey, we arrived Bedrock at about 11.30pm feeling so tired and hungry. Without further delay, Debbie quickly got her staff to buy 3 packets of Ipoh famous Jisi horfun to warm our stomach and showed us to our room to settle down and rest for the night. Debbie’s warmth welcome and the extra miles she took to make sure we arrived safely and took care of my mum really made the night ends with a positive note. The next day, a very friendly n helpful staff name Yee, gave us a map and showed us where to eat and explore. We stayed 3 nights at a duplex room, King bed on lower floor, 2 separate beds on upper floor. Each has its own bathroom and space. The bed was very comfortable. Cleanliness good, soundproof good. We slept well all 3 nights. location superb. BEDROCK is 101% 👍👍👍
This hotel with only 10 rooms come with excellent service, personal touch especially the recep, i'll give him thumbs up, he service is beyond his duties. He arranged day trips for us and the driver was good. Overall i would stay here again. Please note breakfast is simple but it make room for us to try other food around the hotel. Curry noodles, hakka noodles.. Etc.. All within walking distance.
Location is good with minimart & popular eateries within walking distance. Staff are professional but yet feel like family - approachable, unpretentious & ever ready to dish out recommendations to must-visit spots or places not worth the while. Our special requests for breakfast (2 half boiled eggs instead of 1 fried egg) were acceded to with smiles. Kudos to Mr Yee, Mr Misbah, Mr Hui & the other staff for their hospitality & exemplary service!
Our rooms are surprisingly big and beds are exceedingly comfortable. Every room has a hot/cold water dispenser which was well appreciated for its convenience. 5 stars for Boss Debbie's sincere help throughout our trip - our flight out was cancelled and she took the initiative to offer us guidance and advice for our alternative travel plans. Very rare to experience true sincerity in the hospitality industry these days and we are grateful we found it at Bedrock!
The size of the room, the size of beds and have 2 big beds, the bolster which hardly can find any hotel providing bolster, the best is the coway water dispenser and nespresso coffee machine
Comfortable for a family of 4. Nice food nearby the hotel.
Our stay at the Bedrock Hotel Ipoh was one of the most enjoyable stays at a hotel we have ever had. From the greetings we received on arrival to the farewells at the end of our stay. All of the staff were very friendly and very helpful - advising us on what to see and do in Ipoh and what culinary delights not to miss out on while there. Simple things like the Ipoh bean sprouts and the white coffee ( called white due to the processing and roasting, not the colour). A small hotel well manage and staffed, excellent rooms in a quiet city location. Would certainly stay there again.
The hotel is clean and the room is spacious and clean too. The service staff are all males but they are very friendly. Easy to get a Grab car at only RM$4 to Ipoh Parade for shopping or pay a little more to go further like AEON mal at Kintal, only about RM$9. Highly recommended to stay here. One of the best boutique hotels in Ipoh. However, book early for your trip as they have only 11 rooms available.
