Beau logement avec tout l’équipement nécessaire. Un grand lit confortable. Petite salle de bain mais très bien équipée. Un espace salon séparé de la chambre bien aménagé. Nous avions pu rencontrer Chantal qui était très accueillante et à notre écoute. Je recommande vivement ce logement

A cozy room that, despite its size, has everything one needs for a short stay. The town itself is beautiful, and has a couple of nice restaurants and small shops (we especially enjoyed the chocolaterie) though no proper grocery store. It was also a good bass to go hiking on the beautiful Moleson the next day.

The location is absolutely perfect, right in the picturesque street, the room is beautiful, and the host is kind and warm. Overall a fantastic stay!

Very little to complain about, the only thing is the double bed is two single beds together which might be useful for some. But otherwise a perfect place

Loved the little balcony in the room leading to the bathroom, also the shower was amazing, ideal pressure.

From the very moment we booked, her welcoming messages were so warm, attentive, and thoughtful that we already felt at home before we even arrived. Everything was exactly as we had hoped. Even the rain upon our arrival couldn't dampen our spirits, especially since it cleared the very next day to reveal an extraordinary, pristine view of the snow-capped peaks and surrounding mountains. Tout était absolument conforme à nos attentes. Même la pluie à notre arrivée n'a pas réussi à gâcher notre plaisir, d'autant plus qu'elle s'est dissipée dès le lendemain pour laisser place à une vue extraordinaire sur les sommets enneigés et les montagnes environnantes.

Merci à Chantal pour ce séjour ! Accueil très sympathique! Je recommande pour un petit séjour typique en gruyère. Très bien situé avec restaurant aux alentours pour une bonne fondue et des meringues 🙂 Seul petit bémol, mais qui peut être très drôle .. c’est qu’il n’y a pas de porte mais un rideau pour faire office de porte pour la salle de bain.

Cet un écrin incroyable la Gruyère et là est situé en plein centre ce charmant endroit qu’entretien Chantal. Bienveillante et à l’écoute de nos besoins.

The host was incredibly nice and forthcoming. We had a wonderful, picturesque stay and when we come again, we'd stay at Chantal's again any time.

Chambre cosy à la décoration soignée, extrêmement bien placée qui permet de découvrir le magnifique village de Gruyères tout en disposant d'un endroit calme et confortable.

Appartement avec cachet, très bien situé, propre et silencieux. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Chantal et nous reviendrons volontiers !

Juste un regret : qu'il n'y ait pas de petit déjeuner. Nous pensions que c'était plus une chambre d'hôtes.

Chantilly was very helpful in what we should do locally. We're with family and the rooms were very nice, though different than what you get in a regular hotel. It was nice to be in more of a home environment than the typical hotel environment.

Really nothing happened that we didn't like.

Alittle disappointed, what was shown online was not even in the same building. Tiny apt. With double cylinder deadbolts on 2 doors to exit building and no smoke detector in room. Owner only accepted cash for room instead- beware ATM Charges another 15% That said, great location, and owner was nice. Ok for one or two nights.

The location but , the. I’ll village is so little that any property around could be good .

“The property is not a real hotel, it looks like an Airbnb, and for safety reasons I rent hotels since I travel alone. The towels were very poor quality and one smelled like dampness. I also noticed a smell like when there are stagnant water problems—it smelled bad.”

Very quaint building from the 1300s. Right in the centre of Gruyère. Great place to be based for the area attractions. Fantastic reception from Chantal the owner. I felt like I had stepped back in time.

No restaurant in walking distance (we came in June) but several options can be reached in a 5-10 mins drive

La propriétaire n'a pas transmis le code bien que l'on ait téléphoné 48 h avant notre arrivée. Nous avons dû attendre plus d'une demie heure avant qu'elle ne réponde au téléphone. Chambre petite (guère plus de 9 m2), pas de télévision, pas de petit déjeuner pour 209 CHF ! Vue sur les montagnes à travers 2 petites fenêtres avec croisillons de 35 x 70 cm. Il n'y a pas de Balcon si ce n'est pour aller à la salle de bain !

Perfect location for one night. Historic building and quant room right in old town. Good price. Could drop our bags early. Kettle and coffee in room.

Tablettes de chaque côté du lit occupées par des lampes de chevet...oû poser ses lunettes ou autre objet utile près du lit? Pas de lampes au dessus du lit permettant une lecture eventuelle.. et libérant la place sur les tablettes de lit .. etc....

We had a great stay. Chantal is an excellent host. The local restaurant next door is very good. We had dinner there 2 nights.

The walk from Parking lot 1 is a little far through the cobblestone street to get to the apartment.

Location was excellent. Chantal ( owner) took personal care of everything and spoke very good English which was very important and rare for almost all the French speakers we met. We are tri-lingual, but not in french.

We had a cute, clean room with gorgeous views over the alps in the stunning town of Gruyère.

Chantal was very welcoming! She explained everything well and gave us some great suggestions for restaurants. The room was cozy and was exactly what I expected of a small Swiss hotel.

It is a pedestrian town which means you have to drag your luggage over cobblestone streets. However, that was not the properties fault.

The location is peaceful and beautiful, right next to the H. R. Giger museum and in the heart of the old village of Gruyeres. The accommodation is very spacious for two people to live very comfortably and the kitchenette was well equipped with everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner.

Chantal was such an exceptional hostess and made us feel right at home. When we arrived, we realized that we were early for check-in and sent her a message and she graciously immediately sent us direction for a self check-in. The location is amazing. We stayed in the Balcony room with the mountain view and it was gorgeous outside of our window. The room was lovely and clean. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at Au Soleil!

A lovely little room, perfect position in the town making all amenities easily accessible. A fabulous shower and comfortable bed with a kettle and tea and coffee to hand.

We had the best stay at Au soleil de Gruyères, really couldn’t have asked for more - thank you Chantal! We had everything we needed, and even came home to extra teabags resting on the door handle one day. Thank you for the recommendations on where to eat out, we had a lovely (delightfully cheesy) dinner at the Auberge and watched the owner joyfully feeding the birds bread which was beautiful to watch! We are hoping to come back someday ❤️

This is a charming place to stay right in the heart of Gruyeres. Chantal is a very welcoming and helpful host and the room was clean, comfortable, well-equipped and had lots of character. The location is perfect and it was a good base for hiking in the area. Highly recommended.

I had a lovely 3 night stay and found the room to be clean and comfortable. The view was incredible and considering it is right in the middle of the old village it was extremely quiet. I loved how the property had been renovated in a way that kept a lot of the old features, giving it a real charm. Chantal was very friendly and helpful, making checking in and out very simple.
