I can’t fault the hotel, it was a lovely and relaxing stay. I will be back.
friendly staff especially Hannah in reservations who dealt with our amended booking. The bed was very comfy and cosy. Breakfast was a bit disappointing- only one style of eggs - scrambled. Dinner was also very rushed with the preordered food being rushed out. Games facilities were good fun. An enjoyable stay
Nice place to stay. Small bedroom, although as a solo travelling female i didn't feel comfortable having my window open so wide anyone could have climbed in, this did make me wake a few times in the night as it was too warm to leave open. Staff could have been better to explain the facilities, and the food situation was rather confusing with no explanation, i was pretty much able to go and help myself to a 3 course buffet without payment or question from the team. I may have chosen this if i knew about it, but no information about. Table scan option didn't work for ordering food, little disappointing had to join the busy bar que. but the bar dishes where nice - not too much choice on the menu either
Mattress needed replacing,
Great location and food was okay that we had in the bar area. Only downside was the cobwebs in room and rubbish left on wardrobe shelf above hanging rail which gave an impression that cleaning not so great.
The facilities were satisfactory but the downfall is that they a power cut for 30 minutes
Convenient and close to main road.
Helpful staff, beautifully clean hotel, great food and a comfortable bed. Aircon in the room would have been nice, it was hot weather and difficult to keep the room cool enough to sleep well.
Perfect for our 1 night stay. The beds were comfy and clean and the shower was amazing! Very powerful. The 2 extra pillows were a bonus. 1 very small gripe- the throw cushions on the bed were stained which could’ve been picked up on by the cleaning crew. Apart from that, I can’t fault it! Will definitely be back when we’re next in the area
Good sized rooms. Comfortable beds.Good choice at breakfast. Very convenient for major roads when travelling. Al in all a good find.
Amazing place to stay and the area around is absolutely beautiful
Always useful to have a shower cap with a rainforest shower.
Cricket bar with retro games, pool.tabkes, darts and sports great. Food lovely. Rooms very very warm, fan provided but good excuse to enjoy the facilities to enjoy cooler air
Comfortable bed, well rquipped room, even fan with an iron and ironing board.
Beds and pillows a bit to soft. Bed moved as went to sit on it. No locks on the wheels of the base.
Very good price, handy for ongoing journies, friendly and helpful staff.
We enjoyed our stay
The room was very warm even though the fan was on. The vegetarian dish halloumi salad had lots of olives which wasn’t mentioned on menu. All the staff were very efficient Breakfast a bit pricey.
We stayed at the Willows on a one night golf Break and were delighted with the friendliness of all the staff and their willingness to help. The free tea coffee machines are a revelation having stayed at the Waterfront in the past and paid an arm and a leg for a tea and coffee. We were on a bed and breakfast basis so cannot comment on the evening meal but will say the breakfast was fine albeit the school canteen atmosphere. Our room was fine clean comfortable the rooms all being on the ground floor well appointed with safe iron hairdryer tea and coffee facilities TV and a good bathroom with a good shower which really did have hot water !!! As I have mentioned we have always stayed at the waterfront when enjoying a golf Break at Wyboston but will now consider the Willows for future breaks. Thanks go to all the staff for their friendly helpful attitude which enhanced our stay thanks again
No full length mirror in the room, breakfast was appalling over cooked and cold, cold plates made it even worse
Good location and plenty parking
Lovely, clean room. It is on the small side but enough for solo traveller. Nice hotel. Spacious lobby. Good signposting to rooms. Free coffee on arrival. Only issue - no hot water. Rang to sort it out but went to voicemail so had cold shower.
Lovely stay and sooooo chilled. Comfy bed and good night's sleep. Staff very friendly
A nice property which was clean with ample space for storage. A nice room though quite hot without Aircon, though there was a fan. The reception area was spacious with lots of amenities and friendly staff.
Amazing
Comfortable rooms, but they’ve taken away the kettles so you have to walk down the hallway for a cup of tea from a machine. It’s a nice machine put sometimes you don’t want to leave your room and stand in the queue for a cup of tea
Clean quiet rooms but they’ve taken tea and coffee making facilities out of the room so you have to walk down the corridor and use a machine. Not impressed with that. Otherwise food is good and free use of the excellent gym is always nice
Staying in the area for a wedding. Bed was comfortable, room is clean, staff are very friendly and helpful. Checked in late but was not an issue. Bar and restaurant hours were limited so we weren’t unable to use.
Jamie, you are a legend. We had a charity event which stopped at the Cricket Kitchen @ Wybsoton. Jamie was very helpful on the lead up to the day and even more so during our visit. We have over 20 rooms booked at The Willows and he made sure all of the team had their rooms as quickly as possible, he also made everyone welcome along with his amazing team. We raised over £2,000.00 on the day and Jamie's help and support was certainly appreciated by all. Simply a lesson in first class hospitality.
Only problem was very hard to find
Coffee machines in the corridors are a winner much easier than messing with a kettle on the room. Hotel is spotless, standard room was a little small for two people. Will be back!
The room was small which is to be expected given the price, bed was comfy and everything was in good orde. Really good room for the money
The room was spotlessly clean. It had a lovely shower, with plenty of hot water. The Cricket Kitchen serves a hot buffet in the evening. 4 or 5 choices, with a small salad bar. In the morning, cereals, fruits, yoghurt, pastries, and a serve yourself hot breakfast. All the food we had was very good. All staff encountered was friendly and professional. Would definitely stay again.
No kettles in the room! But FREE coffee machines in the corridors which is possibly the best idea I've seen in recent years. I would much rather a freshly made coffee or hot chocolate than a sachet of instant while faffing with a kettle. Well done on a great idea. Room was great, spotlessly clean and staff all friendly and really helpful.
The room was cold and the electric heater under the window didn't work. I reported this to reception.
Everything a part from the thing I wanted most ie EV charging was good. However the ability to log on to the E. On app broke me! It also didn't help that there were loads of Tesla charging stations which sometimes have Chargmo options, these of course did not.
Excellent everything i needed on site
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The grounds were immaculate. And it was so peaceful.
I visited the Willows Centre for a work conference. It is a fantastic business venue. High quality and a lovely environment. I stayed a nigh and the room was to a high standard and very quiet. I'd be very happy to visit when not for a work conference. There isn't anything I wasn't extremely happy with.
Beautiful place with very welcoming staff. Rooms even come with iron and ironing board
Lovely surroundings friendly staff. Will come back in the future.
Very good no problems
Staff are always helpful and friendly
The room was spotless, very roomy and well set out, modern and airy, the bed was super comfy. The location is set away from any main roads and has a countryside feel, so no noise on a night to upset your sleep. Also you have free access to a well equipped gym and various eateries on site.
Few rooms next to me under construction. A lot of drilling and banging. Woken up to it this morning.
Room was not serviced. Hangers don't make a difference. No staff near reception when trying to check out. Very disappointed compared to previous visits.
Nice enough and the staff are good but a bit overpriced. The food and especially drinks are extortionate- £6 for a 330ml bottle of lager!!
I come to willows once every three months. Food is always amazing. Staff are all so friendly. Only issue is that ypu have to find the right coffee machine for your tastes.
Good value for money, great breakfast. Smart, clean rooms.
Lovely hotel for family. Lots of fun activities and things to do.
Ok for a midweek business stay but not as cheap as others are saying at £135 a night without breakfast. Needs modernising in a few places such as including USB ports. This is a sprawling complex which can be confusing to navigate at times. The WiFi is generally good throughput. Some questionable maintenance repairs in my room.
nice location and the whole resort compound was good. The staff was very friendly and the rooms relatively clean. Unfortunately they were not equipped with air conditioner
This was a fantastic place. £62 for the night, £34 cheaper than the Premier Inn across the road. Room was lovely and spotless, and the bed was really comfortable and a fantastic shower. Bar food was lovely, possibly a little expensive, but tasted great. We will be back
This is a really, really average Motel type experience. It’s a decent room, cheap TV and a tea / coffee, little safe kind of space but nowhere near worth the money. Some important points for anyone who might get fooled by their “Eco-hotel” kind of marketing: The air-con in the corridors is blasting out cold air (on a cold Sept evening) and the rooms are subsequently very cold - so guests need to put the heating on which then competes with the corridor air-con as the rooms heat up. Madness! And burning up money - which is reflected in the cost - as well as CO2 expended. All the “do-the-right-thing” signage which swamps their marketing is a classic way of saying what they actually DON’T understand nor subscribe to, really. Other Points to note If there’s a big Hooray Henry Party (a huge finance company block-booked the place) happening then do not expect an evening meal. The (lovely, well-meaning) young staff suggested Burger King “just over the road” as the alternative. Think on that business guests. The corridors are dark, with a soulless grey decor and the signage for the whole complex is either confusing or non-existant. The staff I spoke to said it’s a perennial complaint of guests. See attached picture which lists room numbers back to front. I was told that the (actually, amazing) gym “can only take ten guests” which I’m sure was not true as there were over forty pieces of equipment and loads of space. But guess what? The signage to there is very poor.
I stayed with my partner on a trip wehere we were arriving late and leaving early, so just needed somewhere to sleep. We did not eat any meals there. I chose this location because it was very reasonably priced at the weekend. This is because it is a training centre and not a hotel. You need to be very clear about that. The location is great, parking easy and the room and bathroom were clean. You get a double bed, which is small compared to most hotels. The room is tiny, There are 2 feet between the bed and the wall on either side. The bed was not comfortable and it was very hot in the room. It is for people on a training course with single occupancy rather than somewhere suitable for a couple. There was only one towel for the two of us and we arrived late and were too tired to make a fuss. The shower gel is very basic, as were the in room facilities. I booked it on hotels.com and I don't think it should be listed there, because it is not a hotel experience at all.
A great getaway
Clean and comfortable room Check in reception welcoming and friendly. Excellent service
Friday night stopover, this will be the last time here for about 12 months as the venue, St Neots priory is shuting for refurbishment.
Rooms feel like student dorms, no soul just basic as hell. The bar is wildly expensive for what it is £6 for a bottle of peroni is crazy. I won’t be staying again. You claim a spa also in the listing but when arrived it’s in another hotel.
Really enjoyed our stay. Lovely and clean. Staff very helpful overall a pleasant stay
We organised a charity pub crawl and befoe the day I called into the new sports bar at the Willows Centre. I met Jamie, who was so helpful, and he arranged for us to come in for an hour as some of us stayed on the complex. The bar is amazing with lots of games to keep you busy. Jamie was there on the day and welcomed us on arrival. Jamie is a huge credit to Wyboston, and we will certainly be back. So far, we have managed to send 60 kids to school for the year, well done Team Wyboston
Had work in the Knowledge Centre next door, so was very convenient and good value for the tidy set up.
Free coffee, flavoured water,
Does exactly what you want. A good value hotel/conference facility. Easy parking. Nice room. Friendly staff.
The hotel is situated next to a nature reserve , with a spa, and wellness centre. A very good location. However I found the room to have a very strong smell of damp, there was a lot of dust on top of the curtains, and lamp shades. When closing the curtains the dust fell down and the curtains were stuck along the curtain pole, I’m not sure if the room is used often enough to be thoroughly cleaned each time as it felt very damp as though it was cleaned a while ago and left. Apart from this it is a lovely a room, with good amenties. There is a bar and restaurant within the hotel. There is a supermarket, petrol station and other stores within a very short drive away.
This is a gem of a hotel, when we arrived we were definitely pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff are really friendly and helpful, the room was a little on the small side but was really nice. Would definitely look to stay here again when we're down that way
Smooth service through. Amazing area. Food bit expensive.
Very good very nice
Stopover for a few beers
Nice grounds, however been asking for receipt for stay for several days and they still have not sent it, probably an Expedia issue rather than the hotel….
Brilliant place.
Comfortable. Only overnight stay. Food could be better.
My recent visit was marred by a significant oversight that significantly impacted guest experience. While the accommodations themselves were satisfactory, the failure of the hotel staff to mention a planned road closure leading to the hotel created unnecessary inconvenience for myself and fellow guests. This lack of communication led to wasted time and petrol as we struggled to find alternate routes. Despite this issue, the hotel's ambiance and cleanliness were commendable. However, I would suggest a minor improvement in room amenities by providing tissues for guests' convenience. In conclusion, while the stay at the willows training centre had its merits, the failure to communicate the road closure overshadowed the overall experience. I hope the management takes this feedback into account for future guest interactions.
I wish to express my dissatisfaction regarding my recent experience attending two consecutive training courses at your esteemed establishment. As both courses focused on technology and internet usage, integral to my professional responsibilities, it is imperative that such amenities function optimally. During the first week, accommodations were satisfactory, providing conducive conditions for learning and work. However, upon returning for the second week, I encountered a significant hindrance. The internet connectivity in my room was exceptionally poor, rendering it unusable for my operational tasks. Despite bringing this concern to the attention of the reception, it appears that the issue persists due to acknowledged deficiencies in the designated area of the hotel. Regrettably, this lapse in connectivity not only impeded my ability to fulfill essential work obligations but also hindered my preparation for an upcoming examination. In an era where reliable internet access is fundamental, the subpar conditions observed are disconcerting, especially for an establishment of your caliber.
Second stay here and was just as great as the first time! Shame about the breakfast £15 for buffet that had been sat under a heat lamp and gone stale and tough no fresh turnover of food.
Greeting at reception was nothing better than ok, disinterested and failed to really provide any information. Room was cold with only a tiny heater and the quilt was not sufficient to provide much warmth. I was given a disabled room, which in itself is not a problem but the bed slid around on casters when sat on so I don’t think it would have been very suitable had I been disabled. The bathroom was tatty, with broken panels on the wall. I’d arrived quite late and the buffet looked very unappetising so I went to the bar where I waited 15 minute before someone arrived to serve me. Food was very average although not expensive. Had I paid £70 for the room I would have been disappointed but at £116 I felt ripped off.
I'll start with the good - there was plenty of parking and the bed was comfortable! As for the rest of the Willows, the building is old, the inside is tired, run down and in need of complete refurbishment - as a bare minimum, the whole place needs a really good clean. The rooms and bathrooms are basic and at best functional. The carpets in the corridors are rucked up and serious trip hazards; the fire doors have holes in them where handles have been changed (what sort of fire door is that?). You get the gist... They are understaffed - we had to wander around the building trying to find someone to serve us at the bar on our first night. On the second night, there were just 2 young and inexperienced staff behind the bar despite there being a function for over 100 people. The wait was ridiculous, the staff didn't know their red wines from their white, and the drinks were overpriced - £1.70 for a dash of blackcurrant, £6.50 for a pint of beer! As for security, it's a joke. On returning to our room one evening we found that the cleaner had opened the window and left it wide open all day - and I mean WIDE open. Bearing in mind the room was on the ground floor, anyone could have climbed in and helped themselves to our belongings. The whole experience is one I would not choose to repeat. I have just tried to fill in the customer experience questionnaire, which Wyboston Lakes emailed a link for - but guess what... the link doesn't work! That sums up Wyboston Lakes and the Willows.
We had initially booked for the Event Centre (not deliberately, it was just a better price) but were given a free upgrade to an executive room in the Training Centre which was a real stroke of luck. Huge room, MASSIVE comfortable bed (with TV to match) and top spec bathroom. Free hot drinks & biscuits in reception was a nice touch. Cricket Bar was busy with some sort of crypto conference and the bar food isn’t exactly fine dining but service was good and if nothing else it was like a classic picky tea at home! Coming back in December and hoping we have the same luck with an upgrade!
Not the first time I’ve stayed. I was left to check in via machine (the Receptionist wasn’t busy),which took a while but with help I acquired the room card and set off. The room was great with a heated towel rail and in good condition. The tea facilities were also great (milk in sachets, Yorkshire tea) and I had a very comfortable bed in which I slept better than at home because it was quiet as always. However, before turning in I went to the bar for a nightcap. The staff were friendly but the room was cold and looked grubby with tired and uncomfortable seating. Nevertheless I am not put off and will continue to use this hotel which is great value and very convenient.
Loved the room apart from the twin beds instead of a double was offered another room but already unpacked and to tired. Had problem with the shower handle and shower door wouldn't shut we told the receptionist they fixed shower door
Really lovely room and friendly staff will definitely stay here again.
A different but enjoyable experience. The location is on a large complex at the end of a long and winding road. The hotel is modern with free coffee machines and also vending machines fir a midnight snack. Compact rooms supply all you need. Only down side is no AC for hot nights. My Autumn stay was fine. It's not budget but vfm. Breakfast breakfast was good and included fresh fruit sand pastries along with the usual hot selection. Overall an enjoyable stay.
Incrrdibly expensive for a very noisy tiny little room
Great experience. Checked in young lady on the front desk was amazingly helpful. Initial room was a bit compact but I had requested a twin which was no problem and dealt with swiftly. Room changed, big comfy single beds, clean and spacious. Room had hairdryer, fan, safe, iron and ironing board. Again young lady on front desk helped me as the bar wasn’t open yet. She really played a big role in my amazing experience I wish I had clocked her name (brown hair, we checked in about 3 ish on Thursday 21st sep). Great complex and facilities, the complimentary coffee bars are amazing have everything you need and biscuits - nice touch. In the morning bumped into a very cheerful cleaner which was nice. I will be back without a shadow of doubt x
TV didn’t work an cockroach in bathroom
Really good stay room was great and overall really good value for money.
Great hotel, will use again
Room was compact but comfortable and very clean. Very quiet space to relax and enjoy, with very well kept grounds. Breakfast was very good and all the staff are friendly and efficient. If there are any faults, they are that the drinks at the bar are very expensive, and I realise it’s a training centre too, but the place is soulless and clinical. However, the actual experience I couldn’t fault. I would stay again, but I don’t think I would pay more that £70 for just the room, as the breakfast is an additional £15
It was a little strange going to a training centre for a hotel stay, but I found it to be better than some of the well known common hotels. The staff were all friendly, it was spacious and clean and the food was good
good location & just what we needed
The Willows is in a very quiet area. Parking was good. Amenities in the area were not great but food on site was good. Near A1 but no traffic noise. Plenty of green space. Would stay again Staff very friendly
Lovely hotel. Friendly reception and bar staff. Expensive bar. Basic rooms but pleasant enough
Amazing - always have a great stay here
Live local, just wanted a night away from the kids not too far. Been to Wyboston Lakes before but never stayed. It is a nice place, the reception is nice and cool, the staff are lovely the cricket bar was really nice and the breakfast was good! Was really convenient near St Neots so it was nice being able to get a taxi into town and go for a nice meal and drinks. As for the room we stayed in, there were weird marks all over the walls - it just needed a clean! Because the walls were so grubby it made it all feel that way! We found a pill on the floor which was pretty gross. The window and net curtains were covered in dead moths. The room was unbearable in the heat - if it wasn’t for the fan provided in the room we would have packed up and gone home! It was way too hot and sleeping was so uncomfortable even with a fan! It was cooler at home. Disappointed and not the stay we had in mind.
It was a very clean and quiet location, with easy access to the other areas of the complex. Staff were polite and very friendly. However it was an extremally hot evening and the ice machine had broken down. i requested that maybe someone could go to the other area to get some ice and was told that I could try as ther was no one on hand to go get any. So we did not buy any drink from the bar.
I needed somewhere reasonably priced as I was in Bedford for an early appointment. I found it on a 3rd party booking platform and booked as it has good reviews, I didn't even think to check tripadvisor, until the day before check in and by then it was too late to cancel after reading all the poor reviews on here. Anyway, we arrived and the parking is plentiful. A few disabled bays. The lobby is very nice, and clean. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. We requested something not too far away (from the reviews on here), and they obliged. We didn't have breakfast here as it is rather expensive...£15 per person. They do buffet dinner too and that's not cheap either...about £25 or 30 per person. We decided to get takeaway delivery instead. The room is a bit small for two people, but fine for one. It was OK though for one night. The only thing which was a downer for us was staying here, on the hottest day in England so far this year...all we had was a fan. There is NO air con, we had the windows open until we went to sleep but had to close the window as we were on teh ground floor. So it was a bit of on and off sleep due to the heat. A fan isnt going to cut it but it was only for one night. I'd stay here again should I come to Bedford again.
This place is an absolute bargain. Clean, new, great food and extremely friendly staff. A bargain for the price you pay, will definitely return.
It was good for a night but unfortunately there was nowhere nice to eat
Staff were professional, friendly and well turned out. The Willows is in a lovely setting with other amenities near by.
Room was perfect for the night. Very clean and all in good condition, The shower wasn’t great, but overall a very good room at a fab price
