Il faut passer par l’accueil du spa et après c’est au petit bonheur la chance , car rien n’est indiqué sur les multiples portes , pas une seule fois le mot piscine ( swimming pool ) est marqué .

The staff were exceptionally friendly, from the concierge team to the housekeeping staff. Everyone was helpful and available at all times. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a fantastic variety of food.

The room had the best view of the Bund! The bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of options including sweet and savory dishes, as well as both Asian and Western choices. The metro station is very close to the hotel, and there is also a 7-Eleven right next door, which is very convenient. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. A special thank you to Claire, who made our trip truly unforgettable. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel!

This was absolutely not the hotel’s fault, but simply due to the weather. It rained a lot during our stay in Shanghai and the window glass was not perfectly clean because it still had some rain marks on it. I would like to emphasize that this is not the hotel’s responsibility, as heavy rain can easily leave marks between cleanings.

It’s overall a wonderful hotel, however some hospitality issues in comparison to other W hotels: rooms are slightly smaller and they have little to no storage. One thing that we found odd was the lack of food options around the pool. We could not order any drinks or food around the outdoor pool which was a bit less fun than the other Ws, all in all, staff was great!

Cet hôtel a parfaitement répondu à nos attentes pour un établissement 5 étoiles. Son emplacement est excellent, avec un centre commercial et une station de métro directement au pied de l'hôtel, ce qui facilite grandement les déplacements. Le personnel est particulièrement attentionné, professionnel et maîtrise assez bien l'anglais, ce qui est assez rare en Chine pour être souligné. Les chambres sont spacieuses, extrêmement confortables et offrent des vues spectaculaires sur Shanghai. Le bar en terrasse est un véritable incontournable : la vue sur la ville illuminée le soir est tout simplement magnifique. La piscine extérieure est également un vrai point fort de l'établissement, avec une superbe vue sur la skyline de Shanghai. À noter toutefois que cette vue est appréciable uniquement en journée, puisque la piscine ferme vers 19h. Le petit-déjeuner est de très bonne qualité, avec un large choix de produits. Seul bémol, la salle était très fréquentée et donc assez bruyante. Nous avons adoré notre séjour et recommandons chaleureusement cet hôtel à tous ceux qui souhaitent profiter d'un séjour confortable et haut de gamme à Shanghai.

La piscine intérieure est agréable, même si l'air y est un peu frais en raison d'une climatisation assez forte. Le port du bonnet de bain est obligatoire et la présence de lignes de nage lui confère davantage une ambiance de piscine publique que d'espace détente haut de gamme. Heureusement, la très belle piscine extérieure compense largement ce petit bémol. À noter également que les chambres et les salles de bain sont partiellement ouvertes l'une sur l'autre, sans véritable possibilité d'isoler la vue. Cela ne pose aucun problème pour un couple ou une famille, mais peut être moins pratique dans d'autres cas.

We had booked this hotel primarily for the view from rooftop pool and only had 2 nights here as it was a layover / end of our 1 month holiday. The pool opens at 10am and closes at 6pm (which gives you no time to be able to swim if you are out doing activities during the day). Also it was ever so slightly spitting when we wanted to use the pool and we were told by the pool staff that the pool was closed. So we went out and carried on with our day. Then came back later in the afternoon, checked in with pool reception if the outside pool was open - which is was. Popped back to our room to get our swimming gear on, came back to the pool only to be told that now it is closed again. It was not even raining. This was very frustrating. We popped to the restaurant and bar to have a drink and lunch outside on the rooftop with the view of Shanghai skyline, only to be told that outside is closed and does not open until 6pm. It was 38 degrees outside and full sunshine which we found bizzare that we were not aloud to sit outside. We ended up complaining about not being able to use the pool and sit outside. The staff finally decided to let us use the pool and also sit outside to have lunch and a drink. The staff said that it was hotel policy and seemed to understand our frustration. Thankfully we managed to get staff to allow us to go outside but I feel like it should not be this difficult. Staff were great about it and we received an apology gift during breakfast on our last day which was a nice touch. However if the pool was accessible and we didn’t have to complain about being able to sit outside for lunch during summer then I would have rated the hotel 10/10.

The view was amazing of the bund More of a 1 off visit tho If you are in Shanghai and like views This is probably the best place in Shanghai for the view.

A few things I didn’t like not a lot of the stuff in the room is free not enough room for a bin, the fridge has drinks and stuff already in it at premium prices if you want them so if you want to buy your own drink the fridge is pretty much full so you’ll need to make space for your stuff which isn’t a lot of space. I’d much prefer an empty fridge so I can add my own food and drink for my stay or the drinks inside was complimentary and not 2-3x the prices I can get from the downstairs 711. The WiFi wasn’t good at all pretty much useless for foreigners. Especially when being a foreigner (maybe due to the stupid firewall) hopefully in the future China gets rid of that stupid block so people can watch Netflix, prime and live sports in peace when they want. Basically couldn’t use the TV once. Ruined the whole experience for me tbh Was hoping to either connect to a VPN which just wouldn’t connect either so that was disappointing was stuck using slow data the whole time.

This is one of the best luxury hotels I’ve ever stayed at, with the most breathtaking view of the Shanghai Bund. A special thanks to the concierge team, especially Jack and Roser, who were incredibly kind and went above and beyond to help me track down the taxi after I accidentally left my bag inside. I truly appreciate their patience, kindness, and exceptional hospitality. They made my stay even more memorable.

Excellent room view, Breakfast was decent, but rather pricey at more than 250CNY Room condition can be improved, although service recovery wasn't proactively offered. Excellent service especially by breakfast staff. Unfortunately none of the staff are wearing nametags so we dont know who they are. Room attendant 郭传琴/郭佳秦 also very warm and friendly. Wayne Zheng, Director of Rooms helped us on our onward journey and even gave us suggestions for places to visit, and the staff checking us in were also very helpful and patient and check-in was efficient and we were also given a welcome drink on arrival

More than 80 percent of the staff wasn’t able to speak English, we upgraded our room paid over $ 600 more and got a corner room 😞 I don’t need on every single corner and way someone who says hello or good morning . I’ve polished it into a Tripadvisor style review while keeping your voice and key points. This was my first visit to Shanghai and, naturally, my first stay at W Shanghai The Bund. Quite simply, this is one of the most incredible hotel properties I have ever experienced. Like all great W Hotels, the property tells a story. The theme of W Shanghai beautifully blends Old Shanghai with New Shanghai, creating a hotel that feels both culturally connected and boldly modern. Every space has been thoughtfully designed and there is something visually stunning around every corner. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. A special thank you to Claire, who greeted us and immediately made us feel at home. The hotel knew in advance that we were celebrating my partner Matthew’s 40th birthday and the team went above and beyond to make the occasion truly special. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I was delighted to receive a wonderful suite upgrade. The room was probably the most polished and beautifully presented hotel room I have ever stayed in. The views were spectacular and the thoughtful birthday decorations added an extra layer of magic to an already unforgettable stay. What impressed me most was the consistency of the service. From the bell staff, to the team at WOOBAR, to every staff member we encountered throughout the hotel, everyone delivered the warmth, personality, and professionalism that make the W brand so special. Every interaction felt genuine and every team member embodied true W standards. The facilities are equally remarkable. The pool, gym, sauna, and jacuzzi areas are unlike anything I have experienced before. Everything was immaculate, beautifully maintained, and presented to the highest standard. We had a wonderful few nights stay at the W Shanghai, staying in a lovely cool corner room. Staff were all very helpful and quick to respond to requests. The buffet breakfast was very good, with a global selection of dishes. The only thing that could do with improvement was the tea and coffee service - there was only one barista making all the coffees each morning leading to extremely long waits (with many guests just jumping in and getting their own coffees directly from the barista instead of waiting for table service). Half the time tea would arrive in a pot and the other half just a cup - but missing a teaspoon every time. There were some very minor things that come as second nature to staff at other luxury hotels that were a little missing here but overall a very good stay and would definitely stay again.

Die Ausstattung des Hotels ist spitze. Die Terrasse mit Pool und Blick auf den Bund fabelhaft. Das Personal war immer sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und hat uns jeden Wunsch von den Augen abgelesen. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist sensationell. Extrem vielseitige Auswahl. Unsere Hotelrechnung war viel höher, als auf booking zuvor angezeigt. Nach Rückfrage an der Rezeption, konnte das Problem sehr schnell geklärt werden. Die Dame, die sich unserem Thema angenommen hat, war sehr professionell, hat sich vielmals entschuldigt und uns sogar noch ein kleines Kartenetui geschenkt. Außerdem haben wir ein Zimmer Upgrade erhalten. Die Damen an der Rezeption meinten, dass von diesem Zimmer aus die Aussicht schöner sein. Dafür nochmals vielen Dank. Wir haben uns sehr wohl im W Hotel gefühlt und würden es sofort wieder buchen.

Manche Metrostationen sind weiter entfernt.

I had a very pleasant experience at this hotel, large room, impeccable cleanliness, everything is like new, impressive view, everything superlative. .I want to mention Miss LYYNN from the reception, very kind, nice and professional, thank you very much. When we come to Shanghai again, we will definitely return to W.

The hotel is located in the White Magnolia Plaza area of Shanghai. From the balcony of the restaurant, guests can enjoy a view across the Huangpu River toward the high-rise skyline of Lujiazui Financial Center. This view is clearly a major selling point, and many guests—including our group of five—came specifically for this experience. However, the service was disappointing from the start. While we were seated in the waiting area before dining—without disturbing others and behaving appropriately, though dressed casually during the holiday—a supervisor with a rather judgmental attitude approached us and asked whether we were “just sitting and resting.” The implication was that this was not a place for non-spending guests, which felt inappropriate and unwelcoming. When we asked whether Marriott Bonvoy elite members receive dining discounts, we were told that “à la carte items are eligible, but set menus are not.” This kind of so-called “discount” feels misleading, and is not something commonly encountered at other high-end Marriott properties in Shanghai. We ordered the set menu priced at RMB 328, which included one appetizer, one main course, and a dessert buffet. The appetizer was mushroom soup, and the main courses were fried prawns and fish—essentially a basic fish and chips style dish with two small pieces of fish, two small prawns, and a large portion of fries. The “dessert buffet” was quite limited, consisting of only about five simple cakes and one ice cream option with four flavors, without any beverages such as coffee or tea included. Overall, both the taste and value for money fall far short of what one would expect from a W Hotel dining experience. Objectively speaking, there are many high-end restaurants and hotels in Shanghai offering similar Bund views. Compared to those, both the accommodation and dining at this hotel offer poor value, and the service mindset is lacking. I would not recommend this hotel.

A brief walk places you along the North Bund, offering one of the most spectacular vantage points to take in the full beauty of Shanghai’s waterfront and skyline. One standout recommendation: do not miss the breakfast experience. It is far beyond a standard hotel offering—it is a curated culinary journey that reflects both international excellence and local flavor. The cocktail experience also deserves mention. Expertly crafted drinks, paired with a stunning outdoor terrace overlooking the skyline, created moments that felt effortlessly luxurious. What truly sets this property apart is its ability to deliver not just service, but an experience—one that feels intentional, elevated, and unforgettable at every level. You need to take two elevators to get to your room, a bit poor English from none management stuff, which is fine as you can expect in china. not that much, Vegetarian options And the location is centered but you still have to take a taxi each time since it’s about 10 min walk everytime

The hotel is perfect. Beautiful building, stunning room, stylish interior, impeccable cleanliness throughout, perfect location, and an excellent breakfast.

The receptionist who handled the check-in was not professional. During payment, my bank blocked my card for security reasons due to the Shanghai transaction, and the same happened with another card, so the process took longer than usual. During this situation, the receptionist was visibly impatient and somewhat dismissive. In a hotel of this standard, a more empathetic approach would be expected. The rest of the staff were kind and helpful.

This is our 2nd time staying at W and we are elated to be back! Lovely check-in experience from Lynn (super friendly and helpful. She even helped to check up some info for us regarding a visit to a nearby attraction). Thank you for the lovely CNY souvenir! I love it! Always nice to see Claire again. Thank you Claire for alerting the concierge about my request! Good to see you again my Friend. Our rooms were well-maintained and spotless. Our housekeeper did a fantastic job. Great room view as usual. Delightful spread at breakfast buffet. Scrumptious room service. There are W staff every corner... Esp at the lift landings. Felt very safe here at W (I experienced a security breach at another 5+star hotel during my trip). Thank you W, Lynn and Claire for a wonderful stay. Hope to be back soon!

Amazing views of the Bund and Pudong, modern and comfortable facilities

WOW. Wayne and Harper. Especially Wayne. He made my stay truly incredible. A forever memory. I will never, ever forget this… wow. Check-in had an initial misunderstanding and I thought I was going to be disappointed, but Wayne, the Director of Rooms swooped in and fixed EVERYTHING. Not only that. He didn’t just make things right. He escalated things into an out of this world. I got upgraded to an incredible suite, the likes of which I’ve never seen. The entire staff knew my name and room number, super attentive and catered to every need, often without asking, doing double or triple or extra. No questions asked. I’m ambassador elite and have been in the Bonvoy system for many years, Starwood before that. Since my corporate days at Nike I would always stay at the W when there was one in the city I was visiting. That means I’ve stayed at this point in 20+ W Hotels all over Asia, Europe, Middle East, South America, and North America… nothing beat this experience. And while I’ve stayed in incredible mega suites before… this one was special. They accommodated my special requests. In 60+ countries I have never experienced what I just did. All thanks to Wayne and just staff, special call out to Harper. Forever in my mind, I’ll be staying there with my people in the future. As a business owner, you are stressed and tired all the time. This rejuvenated me.

Great staff (even during a very busy NYE period), nice location and modern fun vibe. All the design elements have a wow-factor when you are walking within the premises. Definitely a more impressive property than W Sydney. Room decor had lots of detailing and felt exquisite.

Specifically chose corner room because of the layout however the bathroom door had obviously been broken too many times that they decided to just keep it opened permanently by glueing it down - a little disappointing they didn't want to put in the proper effort to fix it. The other rooms could still do with an additional blinds to provide total privacy in the bathroom. Seems to be a new trend in hotels to not have proper bathroom walls.

The view from my room was great. You could see the bund clearly during the day and enjoy the beautiful lights and cruise ships on the Yangtze in the evenings. The breakfast was great, with a great range of options. The staff were super friendly, helpful and met every expectation with such professionalism.

This was our first time in Shanghai, and we were also celebrating my birthday and our anniversary. Thanks to your wonderful hospitality, this trip has become a memory we will cherish forever. Every member of the team was warm, friendly, and welcoming, and we truly felt taken care of throughout our stay. I would especially like to thank Mark Yu. We met him almost every day when we visited the pool and sauna. He always greeted us with a big smile and such positive energy. He is clearly happy in his work, and that joy made our experience even better. He even wrote me a cute birthday card with a little Thai word in it, which touched me deeply and made me incredibly happy. I would also like to thank all staff member from Housekeeper, The staff at breakfast until the welcome team who helped make our trip so special — your kindness and attention truly meant a lot to us.
