All the homeless families and foreigners in there, the curtains were disgusting, the showers was from the 70's, the bath was filthy, the bed was uncomfortable there was an adjoining room with noisy occupants, I barely slept the night and left as soon as I woke

The bed was very uncomfortable with ridges of springs that poked you no matter how you laid.

Main sign at road-side currently broken (probably very temporary) and the hotel is on top of a hill behind trees and impossible to see from the road, even in daylight! It also shares the site with an NHS Clinic which DOES have a sign, so even more confusing! Very confusing signs in hotel Car Park on arrival, not making it clear that hotel guests park for free - guests could easily get confused and pay first by accident. No warning of this prpblem on their Booking.com webpage.Rooms and interior 'old and tired', well overdue for redecoration. Self-service cooked breakfast OK, but the table-top heaters were inadequate (or off?) so it got lukewarm toward end of breakfast period. Weird room layout with tea/coffee +cold drinks machines miles away from the food table, on opposite side!

Bar staff untrained - trying hard but not confident. They need training. Service extraordinarily slow. Hotel tatty and uncared for. At first glance we thought it was a hostel!

Smells like people smoke in the opposite room and the smell was going into our room There were guests shouting , like arguing around 2-3 am. The shower regulator wasn't working, it's all hot water

Everything was fine

Cooked breakfast with choice of items including black pudding and I think it was sliced haggis, very filling and tasty. Better than expected as a hotel. Room was quiet and did not hear neigbouring rooms although not sure if that is always the case. The reviews about questionable behaviour of other guests was something that was concerning, eg : somke smells in room, fortuntately this did not turn out to be a problem. I think the hotel has dealt with this as they take a deposit to cover any room damage which should be a good deterrant.

Need to be aware that the hotel asks for photo id on checking in. A good thing in principle but I m not sure what can be done if you dont have any to hand.

Clean bedroom and shower

10 wasps in the bathroom. Breakfast was dire. Someone please explain how to cook bacon. 3 police at reception in the morning. Nobody looked surprised. Perhaps it's a common occurrence.

They've improved the overall decor..carpets etc..entrance. Staff were informative including the main Duty Manager from Manchester. The new headboards and wallpaper much better than my previous stays.

TV,s were a disaster. They simply did not work at all. I only pointed it out with 2-3 days left. I DID want to watch particular programmes but had to put up with not watching. The Romanian 'TV Technician' was friendly and quite sweet and hilarious..but utterly out of his depth..days later clarified by the Temporary Indian 'Manager' from Manchester. Shower Head was not functional so simply improvised it with a hand towel..!

Staff were well presented and pleasant.

The smell of weed being smoked in the hotel when rooms were listed as non smoking. My bathroom sink had big crack in it allowing water to drip on the floor. the leisure suite consisted of a room with equipment which some were out of order. The actual suite was shut.

No one at reception for 5 minutes after we arrived. Noise from adjoining rooms.

Location and value for money. Overall it was just what we were looking for at which to break a long journey from Scotland to the South.

Bearing in mind that it is a 3star hotel I cannot be critical.

The night we stayed the people in the room above ours was very noisy late at night. We complained and the staff sorted it out and they quitened down.

The restaurant was poor, food under cooked, just a little bit tired decor, seemed to be being used for people to live in, domestic dramas and almost a fight

Had to move rooms because of an electrical problem. There was no milk one morning for breakfast. Half the gym equipment was out of order. Breafast was ment to be served from 7am ,we were lucky if everything was ready by 7.15.

Hotel very run down and we very dated and need alot updating. There was smell smoking and there was cracked window, doors and wall not clean. .

People smoking all throughout the corridors all times of the day and night, you could smell weed throughout the hotel including during the night, people outside your door banging about.

Corridors smell like cannabis and cigarettes. The doors looked like they have been through war. Everything is seriously out dated. The floral curtains in the room looked like they were from the 80s also the furniture. The bath mat was mouldy. The bath taps sealant were black in places. The TV was about 15 years old. The leisure room was concealed by paper. As a whole the whole place was ROUGH. Expect nothing less from Brittania Hotels. They are running this at the bare minimum they can legally get away with. We had 2 nights booked but checked out after the first night it was that bad.

Drugs being openly smoked at front door. Weird pre auth for £1 damage deposit Charging for non existent breakfasts due to lack of a cook. Inability to provide receipt for food and drink. Apparent lack of management input and presence Mattresses with no life left in springs. Rusty bath Smelly, old, dirty shower curtain Stinking old pillows. Duvet thats thin and old.

My room smelt of weed / maraquana was very off putting ..meantvto stay from friday till monday only stayed there from friday till saturday just overnight ..

Nous avons trouvé bizarre qu'une partie des chambres ne soit pas indiqué avec des panneaux dans le couloir, donc nous avons eu du mal à trouver notre chambre et nous avons du demander de nouveau où elle était.

It was dirty, in desperate need of a deep clean and redecorating. Weed is smoked openly in hallways, bedrooms and public places.

The fact that I was fined for parking on my first night because my car registration was not processed.

For a cheap stopover it could not be faulted. Comfortable bed, friendly staff (even when I arrived at midnight) and a filling hot breakfast.

There was free parking out front.

The property itself is very dated. The shower never worked properly (roasting hot) as the rooms need updated because its so old. The hotel. was very hot with only a tiny window to open in the room. Its situated next to a sexual health clinic.

Bed was very comfortable had a great night's sleep and it was very quiet could not hear any traffic or any other noise. The breakfast was great, served buffet style. Good selection of hot and cold food, the cappuccino was excellent.

The television didn't work , something to do with a faulty ariel. The water pressure on the shower could have better and the water wasn't hot enough.

Das Allgemeine Erscheinungsbild wirkt bereits von aussen wie ein billige Absteige. Mann füht sich beim betreten des Gebäudes bereits unwohl. Dies setzt sich auf den Fluren und dem Weg zum Zimmer fort. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt aufgrunddessen abgebrochen unsere Pläne geändert und sind weiter gereist.

It has had some new renovation done which is good, rooms clean, very friendly staff, good breakfast. Have stayed here is few times now and it's good value for money and very central. 🙂

* Urine stains that was visible through the top sheet. * Dried vomit on the vanity desk * Unclean room, hand prints on the mirrors. * Wardrobe falling to bits * Strong cigarette smoke smelt on corridor. Gave the party/hostel vibe for young adults. I had visited as a stop over for my elderly parents from travelling one side of the country to the other. We saw the room which was not fit for purpose. Was offered another which was no better. We didn't stay and was given a refund form to fill out. Not had a response from the hotel. No refund, no acknowledgement after phoning and sending emails. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

This would have been a good stay for around half the price. Beds were comfy enough staff were really friendly well located

was a bit of a smell in one of the 2 rooms and they were not the cleanest found hairs in the bed and bath.

No reliable wifi from inside room.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Bedrooms have been updated and adequate although the bathroom was dated and the seals were mouldy. Kettle included and a couple of coffees and teas but something decaffeinated would be good. Plus glasses for water.

Hotel looks like a police station from the outside. The rest of the hotel is shabby and looks like It hasn’t been updated since the 70s. Fire alarm went off apparently because someone took a shower with the bathroom door open. Maybe some signs would be good or mention at reception. It was 11pm, I’d had a long day at work and a long drive and I couldn’t get back to sleep after this. There was also a load lorry reversing at 6am. View of a skip out of the window wasn’t the nicest.

Location was perfect. Late check in was smooth and quick.

There was no hot water at all in the shower and the tap neither. When you turn the tap to hot water stopped.
