L'accueil de Anna qui est française et qui nous a détaillé avec précision les différentes visites de la ville de Matera. Ainsi que ses conseils sur les restaurants et les bars et gelateria... Merci à M. PONTE pour sa disponibilité et sa réactivité pour gérer les quelques petits soucis dans les chambres. Petits déjeuner très agréable, personnel efficace et adorable.

Un magnifique séjour dans un hôtel ravissant. La prise en charge de notre voiture dans un parking en dehors des Sassis et la navette pour l'hôtel, l'accueil chaleureux, une très belle chambre dans une petite maison à part avec un jardinet, le confort des installations, l'emplacement, tout était absolument parfait !

All the staff were excellent and very friendly. The room was generously proportioned and although we were in the middle of town it was quiet. The breakfast was quirky (to us) with a selection of cakes and a plate of bruschetta. All very tasty though.

Sehr schöne und zentrale Unterkunft! Liebevoll ausgestattet und mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Vom Pianist beim Frühstück über den Früchteteller zum namentlich angeschrieben Zimmer beim Eingang war alles wunderbar!

Trotz zwei A/Cs bleibt es im oberen Stock (wo man schläft) doch eher warm.

What a good location. The Hotel excelled on every level. A special mention to the receptionists Karen and Annaluce who were very friendly and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this wonderful place.

O hotel é impecável e uma experiência ampla. Quartos amplos, bem decorados (de acordo com os parâmetros do hotel), com excelente localização e um staff de primeira qualidade. A Anne é uma fofa, atenciosa, muito educada, simpática e fornece excelentes dicas. Foram muito atenciosos ao verificar que era a nossa lua de mel e nos brindar com uma garrafa de espumante, uma mesa de frutas e um cartão lindo para a nossa chegada. Além disso tudo, água liberada no quarto, no verão italiano sempre será um plus. A verdade é que deveríamos ter ficado mais tempo.

O café da manhã foi um pouco confuso. Não havia menu e também não era um buffet. Isso nos deixou confusos. Pedimos ovos porque as mesas do lado também o fizeram. A verdade é que ficamos sem saber o que poderíamos pedir. Mas sinceramente, isso é muito pequeno, frete a qualidade desse maravilhoso hotel. É mais um feedback com intuito de ser propositivo mesmo.

Lovely mix of old meeting new in terms of architecture. Great location and very helpful staff.. breakfast was excellent as was the live piano playing in the background as we ate. Loved this hotel and thanks to Anne for being a wonderful host!

Séjour magnifique, un logement encore plus beau qu’en photo ! Nous avons été agréablement surpris en arrivant : le logement est encore plus beau en réalité que sur les photos, un cadre vraiment magnifique. Un vrai coup de cœur. Le personnel a été très à l’écoute tout au long du séjour, toujours disponible pour répondre à nos questions. Un grand merci également au propriétaire de l’établissement, qui s’est montré très sympathique et accueillant. Nous recommandons vivement ce logement, une expérience à refaire sans hésiter !

Parking is available at a cost in a 24-hour multi-storey car park, 10min drive away. The hotel then organises a taxi for you into the old town with is €15 each way, worth it as it would be very difficult with suitcases etc. Very lovely staff, super helpful and kind, they couldn't do enough for you. All the staff seemed super proud of both Matera and their hotel, which is so nice! Breakfast is included both days, includes sweet items, fresh fruit, cheese, bruschetta, granola and yogurt and optional eggs too. The room itself is beautiful, with authentic furnishings. Lovely shower. The option to see the 8 cisterns under the hotel is so unique and nice to do! The location is just at the start of the Sassi which is perfect to explore both the historic Sassi and the newer parts of Matera also. Couldn't recommend it enough!

AC could have been a touch better, I think due to the August weather, perhaps a lot of the heat stays in the room.

Staying at Corte San Pietro was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. The cave accommodations are stunningly restored, seamlessly blending history with modern comfort. A highlight of the property is the incredible “Institute di Ricerca Anime” concept under the hotel which gives guests an insight into the subterranean underground water storage system unique to Matera's heritage. The hospitality here is top-notch. Anna at the Reception and Angela in the Dining Room made us feel like family, and the breakfast they prepare each morning is simply extraordinary: fresh, local, and delicious. We wanted to move in! The team also gave us incredible local recommendations for dinner and a traditional gelateria (I Vizi degli Angeli - Laboratorio di Gelateria Artigianale) showcasing local ingredients. Do not miss the lavender ice cream. it is genuinely worth tasting! We couldn't have asked for a more unique and welcoming stay. Thank you!

Everything, surprised on arrival with a free upgrade the room was amazing, in such a nice part of town and easy to get to. Nothing was too much trouble for all our hosts and the breakfast was absolutely excellent. Hotel has a really cool cistern system you can walk through which was an added bonus

Man who met us at the car park was very agro, pushy and abrupt. His English was poor so was difficult yo understand what he wanted ys ro do with our vehicle so quite unnecessarily stressful. The rest of tge stay and transport back to the garage was excellent.

O hotel é lindo e super limpo! A localização é muito boa, quartos espaçosos e ao mesmo tempo que estão nas cavernas, conseguem ter um ar de moderno/limpo. Serviço incrível também!

A cama não era tão confortável mas não foi nada que atrapalhou muito a estadia. O preço do estacionamento e transfer do estacionamento é alto em comparação com outros lugares. Pagamos €30 pra a van (ida e volta) e mais €20 para o estacionamento.

This is a really unique property which has been thoughtfully and sensitively restored with tasteful interiors and wonderful staff. We had the most exceptional breakfast here ; complete with someone playing the piano whilst we enjoyed the delicious spread !

We absolutely loved our stay at Corte San Pietro and would highly recommend it ! The thing we loved the most were the people, they were so welcoming, warm, and thoughtful and made your time there special! The breakfast had so many options, with lots of local fresh produce, and you were able to enjoy it with piano playing in the background ! The location was fantastic, and the rooms were a step back in time yet had all the amenities you needed.

From the time we checked in our experience was fantastic. Ana made us feel welcome the entire time. Our room was extremely comfortable with water and fresh fruit. The common space was beautiful and the breakfast plentiful. I can't recommend it enough.

What an incredible place! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel genuinely welcome by the wonderful staff. They took the time to share the fascinating history of both the hotel and Matera, recommended and booked an excellent restaurant for us, and made us feel completely at home throughout our stay. Our room was beautiful—tastefully decorated, comfortable, and full of character. Breakfast was delicious, made even more special by the live piano music, which created such a lovely atmosphere. The absolute highlight was exploring the ancient cisterns and caves beneath the hotel—an unforgettable experience that truly sets this place apart. We had only booked one night, but we were already wishing we had stayed longer. We’ll definitely be back, and next time it will be for several nights. Highly recommended!

Staff kindness, level of service, willingness to help, availability was superb, I don't recall a better level of service. The owners showed up every morning during breakfast to greet the guests. Guiseppe and Anne where always available and willing to help, there was never a no for an answer or not a solution. Mr Ponte (owner) made himself available for us to work out an errand we had to run in the local "Commune". Honestly this is a must place to stay if you want to spend your holidays in a place where you will not need to worry about anything and you will be treated as family. These people really care about their guests. A true gem in Matera.

If I want to be picky, a mirror in the room (not only in the bathroom) would have been helpful for my wife, but everything was great!

Everything. The hotel’s architecture is the classic Sassi di Matera cave, it even has a cistern you can visit in the basement. Anna and the staff are extremely kind and warm, they make you feel welcomed and they go above and beyond for anything you need. Anna got me a taxi with a very last minute notice. The breakfast is perfect, and so is the location.

Hotel Corte San Pietro in Matera Italy is one of the most unique stays I’ve ever experienced. The owners Fernando, Marisa and the extraordinary team of Corte San Pietro were so welcoming as soon as we arrived to the front desk, we were received with a smile and shook our hands like if we were family. For the owner and staff gave us a bottle of wine as a special gift. The breakfast area is not like any continental place where you serve yourself, you have wonderful people providing personalized service while a live pianist is delighting us with his music. We truly appreciate everything during our. We were so happy to be here. Everybody is so delightful and accommodating. The place is amazing! The hotel have walls of stone and we had a cave with high 20 foot ceiling round shape and I was astonished. I highly recommend to come over to one of the oldest places in the world but especially to come over to the hotel Corte San Pietro Ramiro & Lucy Ceja

What a rare gem- an absolutely charming small hotel built into the caves of Matera. We were greeted by the lovely and helpful Annaluce who later on set us up for a great tour the next day and arranged for a better room with less stairs for our old knees. The room was stunning - spare with antiques but it had all the amenities - great showers , comfy beds , lovely view and fresh fruit on arrival . Breakfast was a hit as well, set in a lovely room with live piano music and the most charming hostess with a million dollar smile who was so kind and fun- food is varied and to die for. We had a fantastic stay and hope to get back to this lovely hotel soon.

Hôtel majestueux, à l'emplacement exceptionnel ! Les chambres sont décorées avec goût, le personnel est ultra accueillant. Nous avons eu droit à un pianiste pendant le petit déjeuner, magique !

This hotel was beyond magical, very well designed, the staff was spectacular and the food was amazing! However, when we arrived to the hotel they had a Palestinian flag on their roof. Now, being a person from israel that is in conflict with Palestinians that felt very threatening and not welcoming. They had realized we were from israel and took the flag off in hopes we don’t notice it. But, I noticed it the moment I arrived! I loved the hotel and decided to stay but in the back of my mind I was always in fear that something may happen. This is antisemitism in my opinion and that is my One complaint about this hotel. Anyone can have their political opinion but you don’t have to have it flying in the air. We could have caused a commotion and leave the hotel but we were too tired for that. However, this isn’t the right thing to do as you never know where your guest may come from and everyone should feel welcomed and safe!

The staff were incredibly helpful, great location, the main building with its cisterns and courtyard makes you feel as if you are in another era. Do be aware that many some of the rooms are in buildings that are carved into the rock, consistent with the original structure of old town Matera.

Wonderful experience staying in this beautiful hotel. The accommodation was excellent and the location and setting was magical. The staff were exceptional, very helpful and the attention to detail was first class. This is a five star hotel in an amazing location, with a wonderful city with an incredible historic background.
