The hotel was within walking distance of the city centre.A pleasant walk by Knavesmire park. The room though basic was clean and cosy. There were plenty of showers so there was no issue about sharing.

It was a perfect setting when travelling with a dog. Would highly recommend it. Such a lovely restaurant. Excellent breakfasts and they were so welcoming of Bella our retriever.

I didnt like the idea of shared bathrooms but even this exceeded my expectations. Lovely clean bathrooms. Lots of privacy. Loved the bodywash and soap...I suppose this should come under the category of what we liked 😊

Basic, easy accommodation for a good price. Good location set back from a main road into York, close to the racecourse where you can go for a walk or walk a dog and 15-20 minutes walk from the city centre. Easy check-in. Good breakfast, which included non-dairy milk options. Shared bathrooms kept very clean.

Parking a bit awkward - wasn't really clear where was acceptable/reasonable to park when the edges of the yard filled up, and if some spaces would be blocking workers in the yard. Thin walls in rooms, so some noise (not enough to be a problem for us). Water pressure in showers (in annex block) was way too high, meaning that the shower head wouldn't stay in place and sprayed water everywhere, and that the shower tray quickly filled near to overflowing even though there was no issue with the drainage. This overflow resulted in regular puddles of water on the bathroom floors. Would have been great to have some veggie sausages available at breakfast for those of us who don't eat meat. Overall, none of this was a big problem for us and we enjoyed our stay.

Very much what you see is what you get. It’s very simple and basic but that’s obvious in the price. A bet in a warm, clean and dry room at a great price. Spitting distance of York parkrun!

It was noisier than I’d like, but again you are getting what you pay for.

Basic single accommodation at a reasonable price. Very well situated for my needs. Ideal if just looking for a place to sleep without any frills.

Really needs to invest in soft close doors. Not all guests are considerate with closing doors quietly at night.

If you’re anywhere near 6 ft or more, you’re not going to fit in the bed. Paper thin walls. If you get a loud neighbour, then it’s a bit of a pain. We had some Pratt watching stand up and laughing like a nutter until 4am who kept everyone awake.

There is enough parking space. It is in close proximity to the city centre, around 40 minutes by walk and 10 mins to drive. The room is clean and the staff are friendly. Easy check-in and check-out. The shower has good water pressure. The shared toilets and shower are clean. Very good value for money.

There is no electric fan in the room which at night can be hot especially when using the duvet. Adding some hook for hanging clothes can be helpful at the back of the shower doors.

Clean and tidy. A great option if you have four kids as we had a double bed with four bunkbeds. The breakfast was amazing!

The metal brackets for the bunkbeds were annoying and my kids knocked their heads and elbows on them a few times

La jeune fille de l'accueil a été ultra professionnelle et sympathique. Elle nous a gentiment changés de chambre car la première ne nous convenait pas. Les sanitaires étaient ultra propres. Le chef nous a fait de délicieux oeufs brouillés minute au petit déjeuner. On peut se garer devant le logement.

La chambre était super petite et c'est très mal insonorisé, on a l'impression de dormir dans un dortoir. Mais bon, difficile de trouver un prix aussi attractif à York.

The comfy bed and the breakfast plenty to choose from and loved the hot showers.

A bit noisy some nights with doors banging and their food and milk deliveries woke me up before 6am as the van was parked outside our room window.

It is very small room for family of 3. Little bit issues with Public transport, as sometimes bus timinigns vary. But if you come with Taxi or Car, this is nice place.

Had no sleep for the 2 nights we were there clashing doors in the corridoor beds all ripped underneath talking from the corridoor far too noisy to get any sleep

The cleaners are very noisy, lovely staff but they need to keep the noise down abit in the morning.

Wirklich sehr sauber die Unterkunft und freundliches Personal. Auch eine ruhige Lage, dafür eben etwas außerhalb. Mit Sitzplätzen im Grünen. Tolles reichhaltiges Frühstück.

Die Zimmer sind wirklich sehr klein, aber es geht zumindest zu dritt mit nur zwei Koffern. Schön wären dann wenigsten Haken um die Handtücher oder eine Jacke aufzuhängen. Leider sehr hellhörig und die Türen schließen überall mit Spalten dazwischen. Dann hört man das zukrachen der Feuerschutztür.

Mycket trevlig personal. Mysig anläggning. Smidig parkering som ingick. Rummet hade takfönster. Vi hade bokat i annexet och blev erbjudna att uppgradera till huvudbyggnaden för 15 pund per rum och natt vilket vi var nöjda med ett vi gjorde.

Det fanns ingen ost på frukosten.

Everything, from location to facilities to how friendly and helpful the staff were. Also, it said ‘dog friendly’ and meant it. Great value. We’ll definitely come again.

The room was very hot, but it was the middle of a heatwave so largely unavoidable. The window did not open wide enough to let enough air in, but we were on the ground floor and this was a necessary safety feature. We understand the situation and it wouldn’t stop us from staying here again.

Accommodation was dreadful noise levels especially in early mornings was terrible people shouting screaming , not once did i sleep peacefully. Male showers did not work so I was using uni sex .

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel advertises itself as dog friendly and it is certainly that. Yes you pay a supplement for having your hairy friends with you but the charge is reasonable and not the rip off prices charged by so called dog friendly hotel chains. The room and bathroom facilities were squeaky clean. Parking is free and secure. The hotel is not right in the centre of the city but there is a regular bus service from the main road a 5 minute walk away and the fit and keen could walk it. There is also a Chinese take-away, a fish and chip shop and a good pub (which serves food) a very short walk away. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel so I can't comment on that.

We would have preferred en-suite facilities but the bathroom facilities were so clean that it was not a significant issue.

Tolle Lage in schönem Wohnviertel direkt an der Pferderennbahn. Sehr ruhig. Gute Busanbindung zur Innenstadt, wir haben Park-and-Ride benutzt (1,5km stadtuswärts). Sehr saubere Duschen/ Toiletten. Viel Platz zum Parken vor dem Zimmer. Sehr sicher durch Schranke aufs Gelände.

Familienzimmer unnötig eng, weil 2 weitere Betten (Bett 5 und 6) nicht hochgeklappt waren. Dafür hätte man einen (kleinen) Tisch brauchen können und noch ein oder 2 Stühle. Einrichtung ok, aber etwas abgenutzt.

The staff are exceptionally helpful but it goes further than that it was always service with a smile. The breakfast was much better than expected - the fruit salad was something to go for but I was pleasantly surprised by everything else at breakfast.

Perfect location for an event at the racecourse. Friendly staff and excellent value.

Main issue was the blinds in the annexe rooms don't block out any light - given I stayed at midsummer this meant broad daylight from 5am - bring an eye mask! No working wifi in my room and a strong smell of cigarette smoke. Other reviews rave about the breakfast, but there weren't great vegetarian options. I probably wouldn't have paid for it in retrospect.

Rooms smell a bit musty, but we slept with the windows open. Would be nice with a bed lamp by the double bed.

The place is not too far from the city centre. There are pubs and chinese foods outside. Close to bus stop going to city centre. The people are very kind. They let us upgrade on the day because of a misunderstanding. The kids loves the place.

Everything loos were to small im a big guy 6ft 6ins and heavy set showers i did not fit in the bed was to short too uncomfy no coffee or tea in the room one pillow i slept on the floor if i had slept in my car it would have been better i did n9t stay there the second night it was crap and as for noisy it was an understatment and the persons next door all you could do all night is listen to them snoring through the walks it was a total let down will never go there again neither will i tell my freinds to go there its a disgrace

Nothing really. I suppose if you're a light sleeper, then noise from the corridor can carry especially if the door slams, so maybe ear plugs. But that's really nit picking. It's a great place!
