The Good - Hairdryer was good and strong - Shower pressure was powerful

- Towel $5 - Assigned bed was taken up by someone else. - Beds not clearly labeled in the room. - Top bunk did not have rail guard to ensure you don't fall off and also make it easier to climb up. - room heating was on too high and did not find the temperature remote to adjust it - Shower cubicle was so small and flooded on one side.

Stayed here for a little bit, the lovely ladies working there really made it amazing. Shoko, Holly, and Denise all made me feel so welcome and were there for every little request I had. Thanks girls!! Bracelet night was a blast.

Toilet and shower cubicles were right next to one another. Could make for an unpleasant shower when someone decided to unload right next to you.

The staff was what I liked the most. Denise's reception has been really friendly when checking in and during our stay. Always available to help us and make us feel really comfortable.

Facilities are not really good.. A little bit expensive!

The backpackers was really good, a very friendly atmosphere, good kitchen facilities and the spa and sauna are fantastic.

The rooms are not connected to the rest of the spaces with internal corridors, so you have to always go outside to reach places like the bathrooms, lounge and kitchen. It wasn't a big problem, but just something to be aware of.

The property is well equipped and surrounded by beautiful scenery.

Unfortunately, the soundproofing is very poor. We could clearly hear people talking whenever they walked through the corridor. Although our room was on the ground floor, every footstep from the floor above was also clearly audible. We were woken up several times during the night, which made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

Old beds very uncomfortable to sleep on. Bedding stained yellow/brown. Bathroom facilities small and no doors on showers to get changed privately. No help from staff during check in.

Awesome bed, room, common room, location and hot tub. We stayed in the private room with a double bed.

Shares bathrooms were small and had no wear to put dry things when showing.

The kitchen was well equipped and most of the time clean. The free wi-fi worked properly. The other backpackers and the staff were friendly. There are some free parking on the nearby streets. The card system worked well on the phone, but if the rooms had an easier code, I wouldnt have to carry my phone every time I left the room. The location was great, 5 min walk to Queenstown city centre, yet a quiet area. The curtain on the bed is a great idea, I think all backpackers hostels should introduce.

The hand drier in the bathrooms did not work. The type of the dorm bed was not good in my opinion, there should have been another step in the ladder to the top, and the proportion of the lower deck was not good, I could not even sit up, it was so low. Check-in is strictly from 3pm due to system check-in, and I would have appreciated the standard 2 pm check-in.

Amazing backpackers and one of the best places I’ve stayed. The security was excellent, which made me feel very safe throughout my stay. The spa and sauna were fantastic and a great way to relax after a day of exploring. Everything was clean, tidy, and well maintained, and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to other travellers.

From a great place to a toxic environment of harassment and selective discrimination. Do not recommend! I stayed at this hostel for long-term periods, and it is deeply disheartening to see how the current management and the conduct of the supervisor on duty managed to completely ruin my experience. What happened to me was the final straw for an establishment that has clearly lost all respect for its guests. If you are a traveler looking for an environment that welcomes and embraces diversity, I strongly advise you to stay far away from here. Anyone who follows the recent history of reviews for this hostel will notice a worrying pattern: previous guests have already highlighted serious issues regarding unfair treatment and discrimination. My personal experience unfortunately confirmed that this venue operates with a heavy bias and selective harassment against same-sex couples. I acknowledge that I breached a house rule by letting my boyfriend spend the night with me. However, the aftermath was a clear abuse of authority and felt like pure retaliation, as the previous day I had rightfully complained about the neglect concerning my food in the shared fridge. In the morning, the supervisor approached me in a hostile manner and applied a double, completely disproportionate penalty: I was forced to pay the financial fee for the extra guest, and even after paying, I was punished with immediate eviction. I was given a miserable 15 minutes to pack all my belongings and leave the premises, being treated with absolute disrespect despite my long-term history as a regular, paying guest. The most shocking part is the blatant double standard: in the exact same room, there is a heterosexual guest who frequently brings a partner over to sleep, and no action has ever been taken against him. When questioned, the supervisor's flimsy excuse was that "there are no cameras in the room to know," which only solidifies the clear targeting I experienced. Why do strict enforcement and 15-minute evictions only operate with maximum agility against a gay guest and his partner? Why charge the financial penalty and still enforce a humiliating eviction, if not out of malice? It is deeply sad to see a hostel that used to be very good decay into this level of hostility and prejudice. I am sharing this on every major platform to ensure that future travelers—especially minorities and the LGBTQIA+ community—are fully aware of the unfair treatment they might face here before spending their money.

Excelente localização, é possível fazer tudo a pé em Queenstown a partir do hostel. Os banheiros são extremamente limpos e organizados. Possui uma cozinha bem equipada.

É uma pena não ter estacionamento próprio, mas é possível parar o carro em ruas próximas, sem custo.

A localização é ótima e a funcionária da recepção é gentil.

1. Reservei um quarto para duas, com cama de casal e não era uma cama casal e sim duas camas de solteiro juntas. Não me parece correto dizer que vai oferecer uma cama de casal. 2. Muito barulho durante a madrugada, impossível ter uma noite de sono agradável. 3. O chuveiro tem uma água morna por um curto tempo e logo fica fria, o que faz a experiência do banho ser horrível. 4. Não existe estacionamento livre na cidade e como o hostel não dispõe de estacionamento provavelmente você terá que pagar para deixar seu carro em um estacionamento privativo. Passei mais de 30min buscando e por fim tive que pagar. Resumindo: se você busca uma experiência de um hostel com barulho, pouco conforto e instalações precárias pode ser o lugar pra você. Se busca um quarto para descansar enquanto turista pela cidade, escolha outra opção que não tenha dor de cabeça.

For backpackers, this is a great place to stay. Black Sheep Backpackers meet all ranges of their customer's need in terms of room and their rates. Which makes it affordable and very pleasant space to stay. And the staffs are a big PLUS.

Good location, very nice to have a sauna (which I couldn't use but would have loved using) and really nice staff. The view was amazing!

The bed were sooo uncomfortable! You couldn't even completely sit, they were quite short, and beside of a super small elastic storage for the phone, there was no space to leave a book, a water bottle, or anything else you would want with you while sleeping. The shared rooms have no storage for all the people and the windows very quite dusty. The bathrooms were no idilliac either as they were in a outside hall and quite cold and dark.

It's an amazing location, super friendly staff and clean kitchen. The room was quite spacious with a really comfy bed.

Our bed was below the window and it had a cold air flow leaking in, getting all of this direct in our heads. Room 21.

The facilities were clean but the times of day that the bathrooms would be cleaned were inconvenient ie. They would be cleaned at 9:30 in the morning when people needed to check out at 10

Al estar por NZ conduciendo un coche dudé mucho en qué hostel escoger para estar cerca del centro y poderme mover sin tocarlo y a la vez no tener que pagar un parking de pago y fue una perfecta elección! En menos de 10mins estás en el centro caminando y hay parking gratuito en las calles de alrededor del hostel. El personal siempre fue muy amable y es de agradecer 🤗

Creo que se podría mejorar fácilmente la social area y hacerla más acogedora con alguna lámpara con luz más tenue.

Ungewöhnlich große, gemütliche Zimmer mit schöner Aussicht.

Lage ist etwas außerhalb der Stadt. Es gab zu wenig Duschen. Sehr kleine Küche. Man musste extra eine App runterladen, weil jeder einzelne Raum in diesem Hostel nur mit App zu öffnen war. Das Personal war die meiste Zeit nicht aufzufinden und auch nicht besonders hilfreich.

Didn’t realise children would be there, I thought it was a backpackers which usually is just adults.. we didn’t sleep very well as there was crying children all night so that was pretty disappointing .

All equipment (especially in the kitchen) was a bit timeworn, access to the rooms and bathrooms via code which can failed anytime, no bedside tables in tiny room, so no place to put cup of tea or mobile phone.

My sheets were a bit grubby. Looked like they had mud on them. The bathrooms are very tight for communal living. It wasnt too pleasant trying to move around people in a 2.5 m 2 room that houses 2 toilets 2 showers and 2 wash basins. Especially when youre trying to clean your teeth when someone steps out of a toilet cubicle after a number 2. Pretty yuk..
