Good location and very reasonable facilities at this price point.

WiFi was not working for us, however, Giacomo made an effort to get it work and even connected us to the WiFi of one of their other nearby properties when ours inexplicably wouldn’t work.

Molto carino il terrazzino e anche la vista, ho apprezzato che ci fosse la vasca anche se era un po' scomoda. Anche la posizione è buona e abbastanza centrale, parecchi locali e trattorie nelle vicinanze. Molto gentile la host Tiziana nel fornire tutte le info.

Un po' rumoroso, ci vorrebbero i doppi vetri. Dal bagno proveniva un po' di odore... Ambiente carino e rustico ma un po' vecchiotto. Mi sarei aspettata almeno una bottiglia d'acqua o la possibilità di reperirla nella struttura.

It is not a 4 star hotel. The location is close to the city but there is no reception or anything more than very basic amenities.

Cuando reserve solo tenían disponible la habitación con el baño afuera, eso no fue muy cómodo pero por dos noches estuvo bien.

Rustic and beautiful room. Bed was too firm for us, but otherwise comfortable stay. Great communication from host and everything was clean. Location is very convenient. Close to station and many good food places nearby as well as markets/ farmacia. AC worked well. They also held our luggage for us after check out.

There is a cement step that blends in like an optical illusion after the elevator hall. No signs and easy to miss if not looking for it- so watch your step when exiting the building.

The room had very high ceiling so was cool at night, was central to everything in the city

La porta del Paradiso is located a nice short distance away from the center by foot and from the Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station.

The room we had was not very good. It was quite dirty and the bathroom, although private, was located in another room across the hall. This means that any time you wish to use the bathroom or shower a public area must be crossed and keys used to open the door. Those doors and halls also made a lot of noise which is not great when peeing at night. Next to that, which was an annoying inconvenience many small things made me quite disappointed. The room was quite dirty and old. The AC was very loud. The safe was not operable. The towels were low quality and left some fuzz on my body which once caused me to have to shower again I was so covered in the stuff. The toilet partially fell apart while using it. The water in the shower never ran cold. The shower head didn't face straight and had to be held. Etc. Although the stay functioned fine as a home base to sleep in it barely did so. I would not recommend this place.

Walking distance to Florence centre without being in a busy area. One minute walk to the Arno river and then 15 minutes to the main attractions. Some good cafes and bars close for breakfast/a nightcap. The breakfast at the property also looked good but we didn’t have it. Very clean rooms and very friendly and helpful owners.

Can’t be helped when visiting in the middle of August- we were on the very top floor which was very hot. Our room was fine as the aircon unit worked well but our private external bathroom was very warm. Would still stay there again!

Malheureusement les équipements étaient non fonctionnels la clim n'était pas assez puissante pour rafraîchir la pièce convenablement le matériel présenter des traces d'usure et n'était pas très propre. Le sèche-cheveux mentionné dans les équipements était non fonctionnel, pas de pression dans la tuyauterie. À notre arrivée nous avons été installé dans une chambre différente que celle que nous avions réservé et nous avons donc perdu une matinée pour pouvoir déplacer nos affaires dans la chambre que nous avions réservé initialement. La nuit dans cette chambre a été très désagréable car il faisait une chaleur énorme à cause de la clim qu'il ne fonctionnait pas assez bien chaleur insoutenable.

Nous avons apprécié, avec la chaleur que nous avons dû affronter avec les bagages (pas vraiment de parking accessible facilement), la chambre calme et climatisée.

Jolie terrasse privative, dommage de ne pas avoir pu en profiter dû aux chaises vétustes et pas propres. Taxe de séjour bien trop élevée pour une nuit.

VENDEN COMO QUE EL BAÑO ES PRIVADO, cuando llegamos nos encontramos con que nuestro baño era fuera de la habitación y teníamos que bajar un piso por escaleras para llegar a el. Aparte nuestra habitación no se parecía a la de las fotos, todo era antiguo, rústico y con poca luz de noche. En el baño aparte de estar viejo, hacia una calor insoportable, no tenia ventana y la ducha con poca presión. Lo recomendaría para una urgencia, aparte de que la tasa turística comparado con los otros hoteles que me he quedado en el mismo viaje es ALTISIMA. A y no deja nada de cortesía.

Kényelmes, tágas szoba, tiszta, jól felszerelt fürdőszoba. Jó volt, hogy korán be lehetett jelentkezni, illetve a közös nagy terasz is pozitívum volt. A szállásadó beszélt angolul.

The room was completely different from the pictures on Booking and overall quite small and basic.

*Weak water pressure in shower *No coffee/tea facility *Very noisy outside and could hear late night and early morning *unfotunatly we felt unsafe due to high number of foreigners on bikes stealing and causing problems. We witnessed a horrible incident outside our window with 3 police cars being sent to the location!

No tuvimos una experiencia agradable como para mencionar algo positivo.

Llegamos en horario de checkin según la descripción, pero no había nadie para atendernos. La puerta del portal no funcionaba y tuvimos que esperar a pleno sol en la calle hasta que un vecino bajó. El baño estaba fuera de la habitación (cosa que no se me informó a la hora de hacer la reserva, sino pocas horas antes de llegar). El marco de la puerta estaba roto. La habitación estaba sucia, había mosquitos aplastados en las paredes. El camino de la estación de tren hasta el alojamiento parecía inseguro, tuvimos que estar de vuelta antes de lo previsto porque nos daba miedo transitarlo de noche.

The location is amazing! It takes only 20min walk to the centre of the city and main attractions. We did not need to use any public transportation. We had cleaning of the room every day and the bed was so comforable.

There was some strange smell in the bathroom

Posizione ottima: vicinanza al tram (meno di 5 minuti a piedi) per raggiungere la stazione e S Mari Novella, dove si può arrivare comunque a piedi con una breve camminata. Nelle vicinnaze ci sono anche vari ristoranti, ed è meno caotico rispetto al centro.

Colazione un pò scarsa, solo prodotti confezionati. Non pretendo una colazione a buffet come i grandi alberghi ma almeno qualche varietà di frutta e affettati un pò più di qualità (è stato esposto affettato in busta di bassa qualità). La mia stanza dava sulla via principale, che "obbliga" a tenere le imposte chiuse durante la notte (è comunque presente il condionatore nella stanza).

Locația bună pentru a vizita Florenta și pentru a ajunge la gară. În apropiere am găsit supermarket și un restaurant bun. Gazdele ne-au ajutat la nevoie și am comunicat bine cu ele.

Camera necesită renovare. Salteaua nu a fost confortabilă și pernele prea tari. Mulți țânțari dar am observat ca asta este ceva generic.

Purtroppo, quello che non mi è piaciuto è che non siamo riposati per niente in quale tutta la sera si è sentita l’acqua del Water l’acqua della doccia appena arrivava più anche l’allarme ha suonato praticamente 20 o 30 minuti

La stanza era un pó spoglia e purtroppo il letto era un pó scomodo. Magari basta rinnovare i materassi.

La ubicación y la atención. El edificio es muy antiguo y tuvimos problemas con el agua. Luego estuvimos en otra residencia por casi lo mismo en precio y muchísimo mejor todo el funcionamiento. Lo que no me gustó fue que tenía el baño privado pero separado de la habitación. El baño si estaba impecable. No fue cómodo

Internet malo. Estábamos en una especie de altillo donde había bastante tierra en el techo y además había que subir dos pisos por escalera. El baño queda afuera de la habitación

We stayed for 5 nights at La Porta del Paradiso and overall, our experience was good. We managed to navigate to the front entrance (as mentioned in other reviews, look out for no.66 or use Google Street View) and ring the intercom to gain access. There is a small lift that can fit two people and 2 large suitcases, as the hotel is located on the highest floor of the building. We were very kindly offered a map of the city on check-in and shown our room. We stayed in the Small Double Room with Private External Bathroom. Overall, the room and bathroom were fine - clean, had the basic facilities and some decoration that added to the charm. Our room looked directly onto the shared balcony, however there were shutters for privacy and we saw no one use the balcony for our entire stay. The external bathroom was directly opposite our room on a shared corridor, but again we saw no one else on the corridor while we moved between the two rooms. There was also an enclosed changing area in the room for some additional privacy. While there was some facilities in the room (mini fridge, TV, mirror, safe, air con), we thought this could be improved (eg. a full length mirror, safe mounted to something secure, matching large bedside tables, two dining chairs instead of one, kettle, drinking glasses / mugs, extra pillows, shampoo/body wash in bottles instead of sachets). We slept comfortably and although there was some noise, this is to be expected being in the middle of the city so this did not bother us. The location was perfect for us - only a 10 min walk to Santa Maria Novella train station and 20 min walk to the Duomo / Ponte Vecchio. There were plenty of bars / restaurants within 10 min walk of the hotel. Breakfast worked fine for us - there was packaged pastries, fruit, yogurts, hot & cold drinks. Nothing particularly special, but enough to keep you going till lunchtime. On the final night of our stay, a very large group (approx. 20+) teenage students arrived at the hotel and seemed to be staying in nearly every other room available. The group was well-behaved and made little-to-no noise on our final night, but we did become more concerned about privacy, particularly having an external bathroom. We enjoyed our time at La Porta del Paradiso and felt it was good value for money, however there is a few things to note that did dampen our experience: - As others have mentioned, this is more of a Bed & Breakfast than a Hotel. - The facilities in the room could be more complete. - As inferred from other reviews, it seems this place is favoured for youth / school trips. Had I known this when booking, it is unlikely I would have chosen it. We felt lucky that the school trip only arrived on our final night.

The hosts were very warm and welcoming. The room was large and the bed very comfy. The breakfast was a bonus! Great that it was a short walk from/to the station and an easy walk to all the main sights.

We didn’t realise that we didn’t have our own bathroom, but that worked out ok. The bathroom was spacious and very clean.

A pie realmente no está tan cerca de la estación de tren, fueron 15 minutos aproximadamente y con maletas es mas incomodo desplazarse, pero hay una parada del tranvia cerca a 100 metros que te lleva a la estación de tren en 3 minutos

After requesting to change rooms the second room was much better than the first. The shower worked and there was no smell. Comfortable beds and clean. Pretty views.

The first room I was given was room number 2, it had a terrible smell of sewage and damp, it was a bath only room which I didn’t know about and it was awkwardly under the stairs, so I couldn’t stand if I wanted to use the hand held shower, as well as the hand held shower being terrible! It was right next to the entrance and I was woken up every time someone came in throughout the night cause the door automatically buzzes and slams behind you. No kettle for tea or coffee in your room, however I asked for one which they gave me.

L’accoglienza è stata delle peggiori. Camera angusta e appena entrato c’era puzza di fogna che veniva dal bagno. Ho aperto le finestre per fare cambiare l’aria ma nella notte mi sono svegliato per la puzza che si era riformata. Nella vasca da bagno non potevo fare la doccia perché era incassata in un muro. Più che la porta del paradiso mi sembrava di aver varcato quella dell’inferno.
