Clean room and bathroom.
The water pressure in the shower was very weak and the shower drain was not working sufficiently.
Perfect convienient spot in the middle of Prince Albert
Happened to be here for the jazz festival, whole town was buzzing, Carmen invited us to her braai which we really enjoyed.
Was a little small, but we knew that when booking, shower was weak due to water restrictions
This guest lodge is in an excellent location on the main street. It is easy to walk everywhere. The gardens are lovely with plenty of loungers to relax on. Carmen, the hostess, is very friendly and gives good suggestions. The room was a nice size with an outside stoep. I liked the extra comforts like tissues and face cloths, which very few establishments actually provide. Parking was available on the property grounds.
Although the rooms are neat, clean and comfortable, the outside of the buildings look like they could do with a fresh coat of paint. The shower was a lovely big size, with nice hot water, but the drains were a bit blocked.
A lovely oasis Small touches like welcome Sherry and biscuits at the tea station. These were also refilled for the second day.
Location in the town was excellent. Lovely garden outlook with pool from our little veranda
Close to the Parkrun.
No real facilities in the room so needed to eat out every meal.
Our stay at Saxe Coburg Lodge was superb. Beautifully equipped chalets which were spotlessly clean. The garden with pool, trees and shrubs was private and made for easy relaxation. Carmen was so helpful providing us with information about Prince Albert before we arrived and continued with her help during our stay. Prince Albert is a beautiful village with some wonderful places to visit and enjoy. Our week passed so quickly but we all have lasting memories from our Saxe Coburg base and the hospital;ity and community spirit in Prince Albert. We hope to return.
Nothing really. It is quite a long drive to return to Cape Town via the R62 but well worth the effort. Beautiful drive through Meiringspoort / Oudtshoorn / Ladismyth / Barrydale with options on the final route into Cape Town.
Carmen has created a piece of Heaven in Prince Albert. Beautiful rooms set in a tranquil garden with welcome swimming pool. Only noise is the sound of all the birds in the trees.. The rooms all have a lovely stoop with table and chairs for eating your own breakfast or pre dinner drinks. Rooms tastefully decorated with all amenities. My room had a four poster bed!! Safe off street parking. Plenty of dining places within walking distance.
Cannot think of anything.
Great location
Olde world charming property
Nothing👍🏻
I booked 2 rooms , 1 had a super king bed , the other a king bed. Both rooms were very spacious and clean. Tyr small carafe of complimentary sherry was a nice touch . There was plenty of food choice in the immediate vicinity. Overall a nice peaceful stay and would certainly return.
All was good.
The Daxe Coburg lodge is in the very centre of town so conveniently situated for everything. The real joy is the people who run it, are very friendly, interesting, and welcoming. Beautifully fitter rooms, a serenic garden and swimming pool all add to the reasons I returned there for my visit to South Africa.
close to my work and restuarants
felt a bit creepy at night as I was alone .not a lot of guests, but was ok
The location was excellent - right in the middle of Prince Albert. Nice big garden gave a very relaxed feel. The room was great with everything you need and comfortable beds. Shower was a good size with fluffy towels too. We loved the old world charm of Saxe-Coburg.
Can't think of anything except there was a slight leak from the toilet cistern but no big deal at all. Just a slight waste of water.
Everything about this accomplishment was perfect, host Carmen very friendly, accomodation was spotless, everything was exceptional, pool very refreshing, will definitely book here again

Hostess, Carmen, was very friendly, helpful and gave us great recommendations for restaurants to try. Enjoyed our short stay with them a lot
\no complaints
Beautiful period property, very comfortable bed, exceptionally helpful owner!
We wish we had booked a longer stay!
Alles war bestens!
Location is amazing, within walking distance of most restaurants. We stayed in a room at the back. Lovely and cool in the heat and was quiet.

Great central location in Prince Albert. The room is comfortable and well equipped and in a lovely tranquil garden setting with a pool. Carmen was extremely responsive and helpful.

Fantastic location, right off the main street in Prince Albert. Extremely accommodating and friendly hostess
Nice relaxed atmosphere
breakfast was rather poor
Great hosts, a genteel environment and very comfortable room. The pool was an extraordinary bonus on a very hot afternoon and the friendly dog a delight.
Lage.
Zimmer war vollgestopft mit antiken Möbel.
It’s like a little oasis and home away from home. Carmen was a most welcoming host, nothing was a bother. Location is 10/10 for restaurants. We also fell in love with Cleo (family dog).
WiFi cuts out but that’s just Africa so can’t complain. Didn’t like leaving as we could have stayed longer!

In die Jahre gekommen. Garten und Pool nicht gerade gepflegt. Preis - Leistung nicht genügend.
The accommodation exceeded our expectations. We had a delightful stay. A place too which we hope to return.

This is the kind of place where you think, I'd love to live here. The room is more like a cozy apartment, beautifully and tastefully decorated, with a comfortable bed and excellent bathroom facilities. Another reason to want to live here is the location. Prince Albert is such a charming village, and there are some great restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely be back.
Situated on the main road opposite the hotel, this is a quaint place with several accommodation options, all placed in the garden behind the main house. The room is smallish, with a lovely veranda looking into the garden. Being a very cold time of the year I found the room a bit cold with an aircon that was not very effective and only a wall panel heater that we didn't try as they are also not great. Maybe a heater would help, but maybe they use solar power? However this did not diminish the enjoyment of our stay and I would be happy to return - just not in winter :) Note that this is not self catering so we ate at the Rude Chef restaurant next door which was a good option. The hostess Carmen was friendly and chatty.
Nothing - just a heater please :)
Love this little gem! Friendly welcome, comfy accommodation, beautiful gardens.
Our only little niggle was the quality of the bathroom towels, they were very old and rather jaded and thin.
I was greeted with a warm welcome from Carmen, property has a great location, comfy bed and pillows. I was even upgraded to a bigger room! Thank you so much for a great stay, will definitely be back soon!
Did not do breakfast.
Excellent location and very comfortable.
It is located in the centre of town - within easy walking distance of all the attractions. The garden is spacious and well kept and the facilities are really splendid.
We loved everything!
A nie and quiet place. An exzellent shower. Would go there again.
Very conveniently situated and within walking distance from restaurants
the quality of the towels was not great. The bed and bedding were great. Would be great if the gate was automated, from a safety point of view
The veranda and garden were lovely. Excellent for bird spotting. The property is very central and close to local restaurants. Carmen gave us very good advice about the best places to eat.
The decor is a little dated but it has charm and our room was very comfortable and clean.
The place was clean, bed comfortable, garden well maintained and peaceful. We were welcomed with a sherry in the lounge and fresh milk for coffee.
The decor needs some work, too many photos on the walls, even on top of the toilet. The ornament of the snake very off putting
The Saxe-Coburg is run by a delightful couple and their daughter who could not do more to make you feel welcome. Lovely personal touches in the room, great company with the other guests. It's located very conveniently in the middle of Prince Albert, very close to one of the best restaurants in town and right opposite the historic hotel. Very quiet accommodation in a group of bungalows around a swimming pool. I enjoyed it there so much that I stayed for a second night.
Loved the four poster bed and slipper bath Spotless clean
Breakfast wasn't available for our date of stay. Off street parking could be a problem if lots of guests
Prince Albert is a gem to visit and our stay at Saxe-Coburg was glorious! This is our second visit and we will be back. Our hosts were so welcoming, thank you!
Great location with easy access to everything in Prince Albert. Tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean room in a very pleasant garden setting.
Parking is a little cramped. The option of breakfast would have been nice, but there are plenty of cafes within a short walk.
Cute lodge with a taste for Victoriana. Unfortunately the very friendly owners/hosts are racists and eager to share their views
The location was excellent, right in the centre of town within easy walking distance to various restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Also close to an excellent museum and a beautiful art gallery. The gardens were lovely and the swimming pool offered a welcome respite from the heat. The hosts were very pleasant, helpful and friendly but not intrusive. We could definitely have spent more time there and came across other guests who had returned many times over the years.
We had a lovely stay and would not find fault with anything. We would gladly return.
Carmen is a very kind and lovely host. Relaxing atmosphere.
Everything, from the moment I arrived. The peace and quietness in there beautiful Karoo Garden. The nice rustic pool to cool down in the Hot Summer Days. The location is perfect, in the middle of Prince Albert and close to all the Restaurants and Coffee Shops. All the people at Saxe-Coburg Lodge made my visit very special.

Right in the centre of the main road, (so easy to walk everywhere), yet so peaceful in the gardens and rooms.
Lovely, well appointed accommodation in an ideal location.
Breakfast was fantastic. Everything was majestic. Pool was awesome in the heat.
Friendlyness, comfort, aesthetics, proximity
Friendly host and comfortable stay. Very central - walking distance to a few restaurants. We felt safe and appreciated the aircon in the room!
Lovely guest house. Great attention to detail.
The property is conveniently situated wrt nearby restaurants and other shops which were within walking distance. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and clean. The swimming pool made for a refreshing swim after a long hot day. There was secure parking for my motorcycle.
Peaceful, beautiful gardens but close to everything
When the wind blows, windows does not seal 100%
Nice size room and comfortable twin beds. Appreciated the fan.
Would have liked a top sheet on the bed as it was hot and the duvet a bit too much.
Position
Everything. The quiet, the decor, the comfortable bed, the classy surroundings, and especially the pool! The host was very helpful. The position in the town.
Nothing to say.
