Overall a very nice hotel.
The bed room was a little small, and the bath plug didn’t work.

Location Swimming pool
Honestly not much
Room was badly refurbished. TV blocks bathroom door and wardrobe, crazy to attach it to the wall on a huge bracket. Nowhere to sit and dry hair, kettle opposite side of the room to cups etc, almost impossible to open the window.
Staff were friendly and it's a great location. Room was a decent size.
Booked a garden view room, we were right above all the many Aircon units etc with no view. 1 window didn't open at all. Tried to book breakfast for the next morning but there was no availability. Understood re the renovations happening, but the bar available didn't have many drinks to choose from. Aircon doesn't do much and didn't want to leave the 1 window open through the night because of the noise of the units outside right the window. Not worth the £197 per night rate unfortunately.
Not included
More milk for tea & coffee in room
The hotel was welcoming and accommodating. All the staff were friendly and smiley and seemed happy to help with any requests (ie gluten free items at breakfast and dinner. The location was great, we took 2 short bus rides to Kew. Hampton Court is very close and the river is right on your doorstep (or whatever the maritime equivalent is} The swimming pool was good and has lane swimming for all speeds.
It wasn't a dislike, but it was a shame that the new dining room wasn't completed, it looks great and will be a good addition to an already extensive hotel site.
Location facilities
Restaurant menu - two main courses not available on what was a pretty restricted menu
Location
The windows wouldn’t open, though after two visits by staff, it did. Just I had a very hot night
The grounds were amazing
Nothing to not like
The location was good for us. The breakfast was very good. The bed was comfortable but extra small. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
We were told the room that we booked was in the annexe but that wasn’t on the booking.com website. The receptionist kindly upgraded us to a room in the main building. The room was probably the smallest room I have ever stayed in and the bed was only a standard double. Not a great night sleep unfortunately. I do not think nearly £200 for that room was value for money.
The staff were attentive and very helpful.
There was a lack of signs to direct your room, especially in the Ascot building. Signs covered the area on the ground floor although it wasn't clear where any rooms to the upper floors were.
The facilities and area were good, good parking
The staff, especially in the dunbar bar were shocking, extremely disorganised, unattentive and poorly managed.
Location.
Told I had an upgrade. Lies. Just what I booked.
Location was lovely with magnificent trees and on the Thames by the lock
Size of rooms, dark and dingy, rooms need a spruce and refresh, reception staff on arrival disinterested.
Friendly and helpful staff nice room good breakfast lovely grounds next to the riverside good walks.
Unfortunately one of the reasons we booked the hotel was they have an indoor pool that was supposed to be open on the day after we arrived but it was still closed and we didn't get to use it.
Excellent hotel, very classy
Unexpected fire alarms
Facilities
Way too hot in the room for us
Excellent location, facilities and grounds. Room was small, but functional.
Breakfast was in a small room whilst renovations take place. We were asked to book a time slot on arrival. We turned up on time, then had to wait 40 minutes to be seated. There were only 2 staff working that we could see, so tables were sat empty and uncleared whilst we were waiting to be seated. Once seated, we again had to wait for service due to the shortage of staff. No plates or restocking on the self service area. There were two staff on reception happily chatting whilst we were queueing - perhaps they could've helped the situation by briefly assisting the dining staff, which were clearly struggling only a few feet away...
The location
The air conditioner was so noisy at infrequent intervals through the night that it woke me up, to the point where I had to switch it off and open a window. The fire alarm went off twice in the middle of the night, false alarms. Combined with the A/C I had really bad sleeps such that I had to return home early on my last day. Still no restaurant and bar. The bedroom and bathroom were so small cramped for 1 person let alone 2
The location of the hotel was great. Very easy access to shops and restaurants and twickenham stadium .The surroundings were beautiful.
Parts of the hotel were being refurbished during our stay including the pool .The lift in our building was out of order. The room was too small and matresses uncomfortable and there were not enough electrical sockets. And nit enough lighting in the bedroom .
Not given the room we requested and until I asked what was the price for the room that was allocated they weren’t prepared to issue a credit for the price difference
As above
Nothing really, the whole resort is in a dissary!
The confusion with our room, there was no room for us! Then we got a smaller room with a small bed. The food is not up to standard it is actually bad. We got a better room with our second stay(room111) and the room stank of sewer!! The aircon needs a service.
Many facilities guests can access, beautiful location and lovely staff!
Location
Having to wait for a room when we arrived, cold breakfast
Good location and friendly staff.
No complimentary water in the rooms. Noise due to refurbishment work.
Breakfast was ok - but main restaurant is closed for refurbishment in peak season
We arrived hoping for the hour early check in at 2pm that we had requested 4 weeks before due to having to attend a family wedding. Only to arrive to staff say no to this and not only that the original check in time of 3pm that our rooms would still not do ready , leaving us no choice to get ready in a communal changing room - where my sister and her 2 children (9year son and 5yrs old daughter ) she was told by the staff that her son could not be in The changing room. Adding further stress to us all. Rooms were basic and my sister family room was missing 2 beds for her children. No apologies from staff they were defensive and did not provide a satisfactory response to our complaints. No hair conditioner in bathroom . Overall we had a stressful experience of the Lensbury
Staff were excellent at redirecting from queue in dining room due to remedial works
Location
Bar & restaurant still closed due to refurbishment..
Location. Rooms very comfortable
Nothing, it was a pleasant stay
Always convenient.
Renovations meaning bar and restaurant were not available. But that cannot be helped.
Location and friendly staff
Beautiful location and great staff. Severtina in the bar/restaurant is such an asset to the hotel.
The men’s toilets on the second floor by the age man room stunk four days i was there. Lift out of service in the Ascot building for my entire stay.
Everything
Nothing
The location was fine, relatively close to the train station and walking distance from shops and other facilities.
I stayed for one weekend so that I could attend a funeral on Monday. Getting there was easy, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. There was quite a lot of noise during my stay, partly because a music festival was taking place nearby, with loud music and many people around until late. I wasn’t aware of the festival when I booked, so this was unexpected. What I found more difficult, however, was the noise from slamming doors while workers were around, as well as the drilling from next door. The hotel was undergoing some refurbishment, which I understand, but I expected guests to be accommodated a little further away from the areas where the work was taking place. This made it quite difficult to relax and get a good night’s sleep. On Monday morning, just before I was due to leave and while I was attending work meetings, the fire alarm went off and staff asked me to leave the property. I understand the importance of following fire safety procedures, but I was later informed that it had simply been a routine test. Given the timing, this was quite disruptive and could perhaps have been communicated to guests in advance. The staff were friendly and the location was convenient, but overall, the level of noise and the disruption on Monday morning affected my stay. For this reason, I would probably choose another hotel for a future visit.
The facilities were amazing! It was an amazing weekend with my 5 year old son
The restaurant was closed but I knew that in advance so feels wrong saying this. Will be back to stay again when it’s opened. Rooms in Ascot could do with a lick of paint but that’s me trying to find something.
The location was good for the evening event we were attending.
It was carnage! Building work ongoing which meant reception was in a corner of the events wing right next to the wedding reception. The room we were allocated had no working Aircon on one of the hottest days of the year. We managed to get it swapped but many other guests weren't as lucky. The restaurant staff were inattentive, too busy on their phones. Considering it was the World Cup and England were playing Norway, the outdoor TV screen was welcomed ...but a poorly staffed bar with only two attendants was shocking. Next morning, breakfast in the cafe was equally chaotic with not enough staff to clean tables, replenish food, offer hot drinks etc. Great if you're a member of the country club and only using the facilities but to stay here it reminded us of something out of Fawlty Towers.
Great location
Breakfast was a bit chaotic and rooms need an upgrade
Mooi hotel op mooie locatie
Geen twijfelaars maar grote bedden en ontbijt wat uitbreiden.
Undergoing refurbishment so it was a slightly odd stay.
A guy on reception was rude.
Grounds not bad
Pillows crap
Friendly staff, lovely location, good sports and leisure activities, easy parking. Enthusiastic staff at the leisure facilities.
Long queue at check-in, rooms are tired and cramped, no restaurant services between 6-8pm on a Saturday night. The cafe staff really can't be bothered to speak to customers. Serving staff at breakfast happy to stand around at tills rather than clear tables and take orders. Bar and main restaurant was closed which wasn't clear on the booking.
The location was great
Very small room
Substantial room
Public transport links not great
Good space with lots of sporting and leisure facilities for family and professional gyms games and entertainment.
I got a bill after days after I had left the place. I spend a total of GBP3,000 but the breakfast was cold as it seemed staff were overwhelmed by their guest numbers resulting in long queues for service. The check in requirement required me to pay on arrival upfront when I had a booking for both event and 3 bed nights accommodation for which I had made a deposit of GBP 1,600.00
Large , A/C, nice gym
Decor was old and worn
location on the thames, upgrades of the rooms
whilst upgrades were taking place, i felt the dunbar wasn't big enough for breakout areas and would've expected some sort of discount for the level of disruption
The room was comfortable The breakfast was tasty The location was great, big grounds, lots of space to explore. We liked the big screen in the garden which we watched the coup du monde on.
The customer service was very basic, especially for the luxury service they advertise. When we arrived they did not welcome us, they just said we were too early for check in, which i knew, i just wanted to drop my luggage. The service in the restaurant feels very rushed, unpolite and unprofessional especially for the stars and level that they advertise. It does not feel like they want to be a hotel, instead it feels like a members club and they only cater to that. They advertise a creche, open from 9.30-12.30, but what they dont advertise is that you can only use it for an hour a day. The creche is what attracted us to this hotel, and we wanted to use the spa utilisites during this time but what can you do in under an hour, it makes the time to relax feel very rushed. There were works happening during our stay, which we were not made aware of. We were only told about the resturant being closed, not the renovations happening on the 3rd floor. The drilling and banging started at 7.59 and continued throughout the day, which made it difficult for our daughter to take a nap during the day.
Location is great. Free parking. Comfy bed. Very peaceful and quiet. Good AC on hot days.
Lifts broken. No late check out. Bar and restaurant options limited during refurbishment.
Room
Bar was shut at 23.15
Room was ok but little disappointment with breakfast because of renovation issue. Location is excellent .
Staff should be flexible. If someone book the hotel through booking.com and they extended the late checkout in writting than hotel needs to accept the same. The same happen with me yesterday. Hotel should directly ask booking.com that how come they extended the late checkout without their approval. Guest has nothing to do in this sityation. Guest paid directly to booking.com and stayed in the hotel. This is a very imp question
Great building
Great area
The only good thing going for the place is the staff, they are super friendly, helpful and polite.
room quality lets it down and the poor quality of breakfast on the weekend.
The outdoor space
I knew before arriving that the hotel was undergoing renovations, as they emailed me stating they were running an "exciting improvement programme" on the main restaurant and bar. However, I didn't expect that arriving at my room after a long journey looking to relax would mean enduring loud hammering and drilling directly above my head on a Thursday afternoon. This noise disruption continued every single day, including Sunday morning at 10:00 AM. There was absolutely no chance to relax in the room during the day. We were told breakfast would be held in the Dunbar Lounge instead. Even though we booked a specific time slot, it was overcrowded with regular members and hotel guests together vying for space. While the staff on duty were friendly, there was a noticeable lack of senior management, efficiency, and overall organization both at breakfast and at other times of the day. I’m sure this will be a lovely place to stay this time next year, but management was not truthful about the sheer extent of the construction noise and disruption. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway right now, I would advise looking elsewhere.
Lovely location and generally good facilities
There was construction noise which we were not told about during the booking process
The location
Outlook from room no privacy from adjacent property. Didn’t know where anything was.
Good service and leisure facilities Outdoor dining options
Upgrade works ongoing during our stay
The resort grounds are lovely
The hotel is very expensive for what it is. As a health club it's fantastic, but really not worth the money as a hotel. You pay for the facilities, not the quality of the room, which is pretty basic and not what you expect for the money you pay. There are other hotels in the area at the same price with much higher quality rooms, or much lower price with comparable rooms. The guy who checked us in was also extremely rude. His female colleagues were lovely and helpful, but the gentleman (Spanish I believe but didn't catch him name) was not the welcome you'd expect on arrival at an expensive hotel. I would not choose to stay here again.
2 yetişkin 1 çocuk olarak rezervasyon yapmama rağmen cocuk yatagı ıcın ekstra ücret alındı. Daha fazla ücret almak için her türlü zorlukla karşılaştık. Asla bir daha tercih etmem
Loved the gardens and location
Location and staff
Under renovation so didn’t gat to see in the main building
The location is excellent, especially the garden area
The rooms and service levels are not 4*. We were informed 3 days before arrival that refurbishments were taking place. This meant the only food and drink option at the hotel was the Dunbar lounge, which is very much focused on the sports club, local members. The service level in the outside area of the Dunbar was very hit and miss, with young staff doing their best with no visible management direction. The service was chaotic and slow, even allowing for the fact that the England 1/4 final was being shown on the large, outdoor screen. Where were the management? Overall The Lensbury is in a great location, with lovely outdoor spaces but I would certainly think twice before booking again until all the refurbishments are completed. Even then I would request a room in the main hotel, not the Ascot building, which has small rooms.
Lovely location Good vibe Excellent breakie Comfy air con bedroom
No Baileys in the bar outside And No bar snacks or food at all post 9pm when ya come in starving from Wimbledon because all their eateries closed at 8pm so you have some popcorn and a snack bar for dinner 😆🌞
Loads and f space, great grounds and access to the Themes
Air conditioning in bedrooms not sufficient for hot weather resulting in poor sleep. When raised with staff they said it was on full but didnt get the room cool.
Being used to a king size bed, thought the double bed was cramped. And the whole room was small. although resturant was under going renovating didn't feel comfortable eating in the make shift restaurant.
Good location
Due to the building works, it felt like I was staying in a sports club and the hotel guests came second
Facilities
Construction works starting at 7.30am without warning
Location
Staff didn’t seem to have attention to detail. Room had no WiFi, room phone didn’t work only one towel when there were two guests.
The room and en-suite bathroom were clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was a small fridge in the room which was very useful in the hot weather. The full English breakfast was delicious and the service in the morning was friendly and efficient. Gabriel who served us at breakfast was exceptional.
The main reception was closed during our stay but is due to reopen soon. We stayed in the annex this time but these rooms were not as nice as the one we stayed in previously in the main hotel building. We did not use pool or spa facilities so can’t comment on them.
Great facilities that were included in the room price. Excellent location and grounds. Good selection of snacks, lunch and menus. Good parking with overflow car park.
Bedroom was very tired especially the bathroom where the door didn't fit correctly. Uncomfortable mattress but good size. Breakfast portion differed over the 2 days. 2 sausages one day then only 1 second day. Waiter too quick to bring plates then disappear giving no time to ask for Sauces, drinks or missing sausage. Security of car parks where no barriers actually closed.
Stay was excellent nice and comfortable spa is really nice gym is big and modern Also the garden out the back is huge and the bonus of having outdoor TV for tennis and football really good thank you
Loved everything
A comfortable place to stay on our journey along the Thames Path. The Lensbury is right on the Riverside in an excellent location, with a feeling of space around it. The facilities of sauna and swimming pool were particularly welcome after a long day of walking. We were in an annex block that was very quiet. It's a shame that the main restaurant is closed but the meal was good in the Dunbar Lounge and the general atmosphere was very relaxed and pleasant, with friendly, helpful staff.
This is really a leisure club for families first and a hotel second. The cost of a double room and breakfast is high, unless you are going to make use of the additional facilities (pool and sauna, in our case). I can imagine that some visitors might be taken aback to find themselves surrounded by lively children and their parents. Although I have to add that we anticipated this and it didn't spoil our stay. (The shower had to be run for several minutes to become warm and maybe a written prompt to warn that this was the case would be helpful).
No WiFi in the room, reported on day one and not fixed during stay. Room was above the kitchen so the smell of food in the room was unbearable. Air conditioning in room not working.
Room comfortable, bed and pillows excellent so a great nights sleep. Spa pool and gym well equipped and clean
Breakfast was much better than evening meal which was dull and a bit odd, pulled beef burger had a strange texture, would have been better as a stew or pie, probably would eat out in future but ok and not too expensive. Breakfast definitely worth the money and staff always friendly and helpful.
Very good facilities, free parking and nice riverside location. Comfortable newly refurbished room. Very effective aircon.
Although our room had been refurbished to a good standard, it literally took about 10 minutes before any hot water came out of the shower or basin. The restaurant is in the process of refurbishment so dining was temporarily in the sports bar, where the menu was limited. It is primarily a sports hotel and the facilities are heavily used by local club members. It didn't bother us particularly but others might think otherwise.
Helpful staff
Arrived 10pm on Saturday evening hoping for some refreshments. Bar closed and no room service for a light snack. Reception were only able to sell me a bottle of wine. Latest slot for breakfast on Sunday was 9h15 so I didn't bother although pre paid.
The Lensbury is a beautiful hotel and the location is fabulous. The hotel is under renovation, which we were advised about before booking so not an issue. Our room had not yet been refurbished so was a little tired looking in its furniture and decor, which could benefit from brightening up,
The decor, layout and position
Spa was a little tired- felt like a public baths rather than an exclusive hotel
The room was nice, comfy bed and good aircon. The pool was also nice for a swim
There could be more signage around the pool changing rooms as it’s a bit confusing where the pool is from the changing rooms
Location
Beautiful property and grounds, currently undergoing renovation work so not all areas open
Building works which started at 8am, however we had been advised of this
Staff were good and sympathetic. Newly refurbished rooms but....
Blocked shower waste, Broken toilet, Drilling in adjacent room, Only 1 bath towel Insufficient tea biscuits No WiFi for 24 hrs Moved room, much better but one bedside light didn't work. Reception did not answer telephone, but emails were actioned almost immediately! Breakfast good one day, poor the next. (10 mins for first coffee).
All excellent.
From the minute we arrived at reception the service was exceptional, we were shown around the hotel and then shown across to our room which was in a separate building. Nothing was a problem for the staff and all very polite whether passing in the corridor or serving in the restaurant. You honestly wouldn't know there was renovation working taking place at the hotel apart from entering through a different door which was sent on instructions before arrival. We were staying at the hotel to travel to Wimbledon, train service was faultless and only a 15 minute walk from the hotel up a busting high street with great shops. Great stay, thank you so much.
Location great (this was my 10th ish time staying) liked the ordering of breakfast rather than buffet...assume it helps with food waste although menu options a little limited currently, which is my biggest gripe as the ongoing refurbishments limit the normally excellent facilities and services offered.
Having only the Dunbar Lounge is a significant limiting factor at the hotel currently (in terms of the food and beverage offer) which is a shame as the offer is normally so much better than this. I was expecting the refurbishment works to be completed by the time of our recent visit but unfortunately this was not the case and hence why for me my overall ratings have dropped. Such a shame as it is normally our go to hotel for when we visit the area. For us it just felt that the operation of just one area for members and guests is a limiting factor in terms of the overall experience and service being provided. There appeared to be a slightly different level of staff attentiveness during the evening compared to the day (evening not as good as day time) again a shame as normally it is such a positive experience at the hotel.
Location is excellent. Sports facilities are exceptional. Room comfortable if a little on the ‘compact’ size. Enjoyed using the pool & spa. Plus the riverside walk is pleasant.
Didn’t like glass door to bathroom. Looks like it was a replacement for a proper door - for a twin room it didn’t offer enough privacy. Hospitality tray was a bit sparse. One pack of biscuits!!! Tea bags did not taste great & some of the sachets of sugar were solid- how old were they? Skirting board badly scuffed in places. Drainage in shower was very slow & shower door leaked
The location was perfect for us for an overnight stay to have a day at Wimbledon. All of the staff were great, polite and professional with the 2 chaps on the reception especially helping us with a taxi to the train station and another when we got back late showing us to our room as it was one that had just been renovated so was ensuring all was ok. We were just disappointed we couldn't stay longer and enjoy some of the facilities.
We sadly were forgotten about at breakfast and our cooked food took quite a long time. It wasn't even that much of a deal, it's the only negative really. Maybe an extra pillow in the wardrobe.
Beautiful location and grounds.
Visited whilst under redecoration, so had to use the conference entrance. Can see it will be fantastic when it is done. Our room was a little tired looking, but functional. Air conditioning was great!
amazing location by the Thames with great facilities and lovely staff. views and grounds are perfect with brilliant sports facilities
It is a members club as well as a hotel and I didn’t like how some of the members spoke to the staff. very rude and aggressive in cases. One woman at the leisure club was awful to the poor young boys on the desk. She wasn’t happy but should have spoken to managers and not publicly speak to the staff. A few other members spoke out about her behaviour too
It was a suitable location for my needs and staff were most accommodating even contacting the day before to apologise for problem with the air conditioning and offering an alternative solution Very kind considerate and professional
The hotel is undergoing significant refurbishment which guests are made aware of before booking on the website The staff do all that they can to mitigate against this issue Would benefit from clearer signage for taxis to arrive at the conference reception area ….and not the main entrance ….
As usual, clean and comfortable
The air conditioning remote was missing. Staff did come up and say if we needed it to be adjusted I could just call down ,however he had loaned a remote control from another room ,when we did need it adjusting it was not really convenient for him to enter the room.
Location
Is in the middle of a re-vamp but still charged premium prices
The Hotel is amazing (despite some refurbishment on-going). Grounds are excellent, gym is great. Staff at reception very welcoming and efficient. We were upgraded and allowed to check in early (this was in the knowledge the air con wasn't working in the room, but we had fans and more space). Great pub The Angler next door, and easy walk / bus route into Twickenham.
No lead to use the coffee machine. Would have loved to have stayed longer.
Temiz, konumu güzel, sportifler için ideal ve yemekleri hoş bir otel
Tv leri çok küçük
Very clean and the room had AC which was fantastic
We were next to the staff room and they were slamming the door every 10 seconds through the night and early in the morning onwards.
Location
The location is perfect and the new rooms are stunning, I use this hotel for work and look forward to my next stay. The rooms are spotless.
My only concern is the staff in the bar aren’t overly helpful, I ate there twice, during my stay, no one offers a menu asks if you want to eat it’s confusing if it’s self service that’s fine but should be made clearer
Home from Home great pool, walk to great pubs, right by the river amazing buffey breakfast with a wode range of continental and cooked options
