Everything the hotel was clean and the staff were lovely

Absolutely nothing I loved everything about the hotel

Location was ideal. Very clean & comfortable. Nice staff

Only criticism was that there was nowhere to put toiletries in bathroom.

Hotel was excellent, modern and clean . Decor was at a very high standard, as we walked through hotel carpets ,walls so really well maintained all looked like new. Room was the same walk in shower was lovely. Bed very comfortable ,and room had air con that's a bonus. Restaurant food (greek), my wife is greek and she was impressed .

If anything hotel does not have own car park, you would have to pay £12.50 for 24 hours car parking. But we left car in road, and was ok .

The first room we had was very small, the bathroom had a very small shower had to get out to wash myself then get back in it was so hot it burnt me this was the princess room not a good room but it was very clean can’t fault the cleaning

I am almost 75 yrs old and was allocated a room opposite a nightclub, did not get any sleep until 3.20a.m. The helpful staff have moved our next upcoming booking to a room well away from excessive noise.

The R&B MUSIC BLARING AT 8AM BUT THE Y DOD TURN IT DOWN WHEN ASKED TO DO SO,AND THE NEXT MORNING WE HAD A MORE EASY GONG MUSIC MORE SUITABLE FOR THE MORNING .I MENTIPNED THOS BECAUSE AS A SONG WRITER AND MUSIC LOVER I VERY APPRECIATED ALONG WITH MY DEAR LADY.MANY THANKS.HILMI AND JACKIE.

Have stayed there before I n a refurbished room with a terrace and view over the pier Which was excellent

This time we were told that those rooms were unavailable So ended up with views over the car park There wasn’t much activity with people coming & going And could clearly see the terrace rooms were available It was also obvious when at breakfast there was very little activity !

room carpet was sticky in places, fitting in bathroom were loose and needed tightening up/refitting, strange smell off bedding, small stains on bedding

We were pleasantly surprised by the Royal - traditional but not stuffy, and much quieter than we feared. We ate at the in-house Greek restaurant and had a great meal.

Got very little sleep due to an extremely uncomfortable mattress. Plus the boy racers who zoom up and down the seafront late night early in the morning, when they finished the seagulls started. I know that's not the Hotels fault but a bit of double glazing on the windows might have helped keep the noise out.

Perfect for the sea front and pier.

We had a terrible smell in the morning from the bathroom.

We stayed in a recently refurbished room with air conditioning. It was very comfortable and the bathroom/ shower was great. Breakfast is amazing, we stayed here many times due to my mother in law living in Holland on Sea, the staff at this hotel are so friendly and efficient. 10/10

Gelegen tegenover de pier, dus levendig. Goede pub naast het hotel. Betaalde parkeerplaats naast het hotel (24 uur). Die is bij mooi weer wel vaak vol overdag. Nette frisse kamer met goede airco. Wij hadden de superior room. Jammer dat het bed zo smal was. Badkamer met bad met daarin een gewone en regendouche. Het is wel een glad bad en het heeft geen steunen om je vast te houden. Hotel ziet er binnen verzorgd uit, maar er ligt wel steeds rommel bij de hoofdingang. Prima ontbijt tot laat (10.30). Dat vonden wij erg prettig!

Het smalle bed en het gladde bad zonder steunen.

Nowhere to charge toothbrush

The staff, in particular Nikki and Katie, were extremely helpful and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

The location of my room was right opposite the night club so I had very little sleep. Once the music stopped there were a few drunken brawls that then kept me awake into the early hours

No bathmat or textured bottom on bath. Slipped over twice when having a shower. Needs to be sorted before someone has a major accident.

The bathroom smells like a public toilet, and the receptionist isn't there. I was ringing the bell, but nobody could come after 15 min he come a lady from the restaurant was 4 pm .

The hotel was clean and the room was well fine.The best bit was the breakfast,2 meals for £15 and what a lovely restuarant

Only thing was my pillow was hard

Hotel reception very inviting, friendly staff upon check in. Room situated at the side of the hotel and had a partial sea view which was lovely. Room a great size, bed very comfortable, and plenty of storage. Kettle and tea/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits provided. Air conditioning was exceptional, kept the room really cool and it was really needed during the hot weather. Hotel attached to a Greek restaurant and on the other side a wetherspoons. Position is perfect, close to the pier. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Shower temperature a bit difficult to get right, but it wasn't an issue.

Our room was extremely clean, and with a beautiful balcony overlooking the pier and sea. Thought it would be a bit noisy but we didnt hear a thimg. location is perfect just a few minutes walk to the beach and pier. Bed was very comfortable and with the air conditioning we were cool with the hot weather plus it was quite. Would highly recommend this hotel and the price was really good.

It was so ideally located! We didn’t have to drive anywhere! It was lovely and modern and so clean! So staff was lovely and everything was explained well and nothing was too much! And the view was lovely!

Wonderful friendly staff. Great breakfast. Nice decor in the bar and dining room. The bed was comfy too. The was a bottle of water in the room and you could take drinks to the room also.

The pillows were too squishy and not firm enough.

Reception was not maned had to ring bell twice someone eventually came. Breakfast was not good always wrong. Toilet in room blocked reported it and fixed . Toilet blocked again on last morning went to step in bath/shower and there was water in it that had come up the plughole before it was used we reported it again and a workman and a women came she said the reason it was blocked was because we didn't put our key card in the slot which was rubbish because as soon as we entered the room the card was put in the slot. there was blood on the handrail in the corridor on way on the second day to Reception that was still there when we left .

Location requires a health warning if you have a room that looks out over the main Rd. The noise is phenomenal from cars & motorcycles rushing around plus the noise from the Pub below which was unbelievable at night, girls screaming, men shouting, etc. etc. A great shame really.

We liked the staff they were very helpful, the room was great also the balcony was great, hotel was very clean and the breakfast was great too

nice room clean we had a balcony which was nice the hotel is in the middle of clacton so don't need your car breakfast was lovely and was all served to you so no up and down

there was very loud music from over the road till 1130 no fault of the hotel on street parking with time limits on so car park is £12 for 24 hours

The images advertised a bath but it only had a shower, that was the only downside, apart from that everything else was lovely.

Perfect location. Hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly. Breakfast was lovely. Love the balcony 😍 and view. Although I do prefer being over the restaurant than the weatherspoons pub. A little noisy sometimes. Stayed twice this year and will be staying again. Would recommend 👌

The location and the staff were amazing. It was clean and nicely refurbished. The lift is a bit challenging, but since I was with pram, I was very glad to have lift at all. The only negative I experienced was as the room was located facing the side road where is a night club. I appreciate there aren’t many rooms that way, but we were unlucky. The club was very loud and the base was heavy. This disrupted our sleep quite a bit, which was very unfortunate. Everything else in the hotel was superb.

Location. It was unacceptably noisy each evening (Friday and Saturday) with Wetherspoons next door, a Night Club across the road, and to cap it all a private function at the hotel from around 4-11pm on the Saturday (located under our balcony room) with constant deafening loud beat music. A request for a change of room was not accommodated. During the day, noise of busy traffic as on main road and also right opposite pier which had noisy entertainment
