Reviewed Sep 14, 2026It was nice to have breakfast food already in the apartment for us. Good location with an easy walk to grocery store and restaurants. We really enjoyed having a living room to relax in as well as a full kitchen with everything you'd need including a washer/dryer!
Instructions for where to park in advance of checking in would have been most helpful. A softer bed would have made sleeping easier.

Reviewed Aug 29, 2026Location perfect. Easily accessible to the town centre. Housekeeper every day if required who was exceptionally helpful. Lovely breakfast available eg cereal, milk, bread etc. Everywhere very clean and comfortable. On a busy road but not noisy at night.
It would be useful for the future to know which apartment is on which level. My husband has difficulty in walking so a ground floor apartment would have been helpful.

Weather has been warm so being old building retained heat and dyson fan couldn't cool apartment down but outside of unseasonally warm weather across Europe this issue wouldn't apply.

Old and dated brown peach furniture too much tout everywhere woken up at 6am by seagulls and people above stomping around ! Lights not working in bathroom and flickering in lounge ! Only slept there wasn’t nice enough to stay in or cook and patio area full of weeds and a tiny table chairs , not really acceptable on this site ! Nothing like the pictures shown ! Five coat hangers for two people and a tiny cupboard as a wardrobe no where to dry hair or do make up . Would not recommend !

Parking not immediately obvious, pulled in to sofa shop next door so I could ring host and get bearings - my husband (who stayed in the car) was very quickly confronted by sofa shop employee who informed him that he was going to be fined for pulling in to their car park - unnecessarily rude so just avoid - as of today, we've not received a fine.

Nothing was a problem if we needed any assistance. Bowl of fresh fruit provided on arrival, and new cereals and biscuits supplied each day. Have never had such great service from any accommodation. Highly recommend the wonderful facilities and service provided by Alison and Tim and their team.

Location is perfect, 5 minute walk into Cheltenham and 20- 30 minute drive to the Cotswolds. It's notable how quiet and comfortable the apartment is, especially considering how close it is to town.

Reviewed May 29, 2026Clean and tidy, we had warm weather and found unit a little warm in the afternoon. If leaving the windows open, the unit is noisy to traffic from the main road. The bedroom is quiet, however. The apartment is not quite the 5 stars that some reviewers have mentioned. It may have been at one time but furniture/fixtures now need an upgrade. The location is great, close to the High Street, and with several good restaurants/pubs within walking distance. - Welcome package included bread, croissants, milk, orange juice and some fruit. Coffee, tea, cereal, jam replenished daily - Flat was cleaned daily and towels changed, if requested - Kitchen was comfortable to prepare simple food and had all the amenities in good condition Would I stay here again? Not sure. I may look for other accommodation in the area first.
- If guests in the downstairs unit are cooking, you will get the smell upstairs (shared vent?). For us, this was a big issue. - Small bathroom with very dim lighting - The apartment has 7 car spaces, at the back of the building and you need to haul your suitcases through the adjoining church to the front door of the building. No lift if booked in upstairs units (up one flight of stairs) - We stayed in the top unit and our floor boards creaked a lot (not sure if the unit downstairs heard us, although we were careful walking around)

Reviewed Apr 14, 2026This apartment ticked every box for me. I loved its position, just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre and close to all amenities. Our host met us on arrival to hand over the keys and show us around, and she was genuinely friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the Montpellier Suite, which was absolutely beautiful and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, and our host had kindly stocked the fridge with milk, fresh orange juice, bread and croissants. There was also a coffee machine with pods, along with tea, instant coffee, breakfast cereals and some lovely biscuits. The apartment was spotlessly clean, the sofas were comfortable, and it was wonderfully warm throughout. The shower was hot with perfect pressure, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in—second only to my own at home. Parking is located at the rear of the building, and we were able to keep an eye on our car from the bedroom window. Overall, this weekend break was a thoroughly positive and enjoyable experience. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Portland Apartments to anyone looking for a place to stay in Cheltenham.

Reviewed Dec 23, 2025Our 1st time in Cheltenham booked as a surprise for my hubby for our wedding anniversary to attend the races and we couldn't have picked anywhere better, beautiful place with absolutely everything you could need and more ! I had lots of questions and Sarah the host was just so friendly and helpful with restaurant ideas and taxi numbers. Parking at the back was great. We could walk into the town easily for food and drinks and the races were a 5 min drive away , Sarah had left milk juoce and croissants for us which were most appreciated and the coffee machine was brilliant , we slept so well we wished we could have stayed much longer !! Thank you Sarah for a an amazing stay xx
