Excellent service and we'll appointed rooms
Quite expensive. Booking.com mentioned bed and breakfast but a cooked breakfast was an extra charge.
Excellent dinner particularly in the Jetty.
The room was by the electric charging points and was noisy at times.
Everything
A lounge
Every member of staff was helpful and friendly without being over intrusive.
For disabled, an alternative to the steps to entrance. In the shower more hand rails and non slip mats.
Good facilities.Excellent restaurants.Helpful and friendly staff
Bathroom small No soap dish in shower
Location and facilities.
Room size was compact for the price paid.
It was very comfortable
Nothing
Breakfast was very good Plenty to fill you up for the day ahead Excellent service, nice dining rooms in the Upper Deck Very enjoyable stay (we will return )
THE WEATHER
Everything went very well from the moment we checked in to when we left. Everyone so very friendly.
No air conditioning in the bedroom which is fine this time of year but with our hot summers I’m not so sure.
breakfast was sufficient, did expect free breakfast to have been a cooked breakfast
A pool table for entertainment
Nice rooms, great restaurants
The hotel was great, but my booking.com experience wasn’t. It wasn’t made clear when I booked via the app that ‘breakfast included’ only meant continental breakfast. For a full breakfast we had to pay more. This was not the daily of the hotel, where the staff were very helpful.
Wonderful location and very well designed to allow guests to enjoy the views of the harbour. All the staff, and the service excellent from start to finish. In particular Leszek, Rafael and the duty manager were exceptional.
The rooms are in need of an update, which is currently in progress.
Location
Location; service, staff . Good choice of menu. Stunning views.
Lovely hotel, waking distance to beach. Set in lovely grounds. Spacious, modern room (131). We enjoyed the recently refurbished Spa and treatment.
Poor WiFi. Pillows too firm, not comfortable at all. Located within residential area with very little else near.
The setting and the staff were delightful
Unfortunately our room bathroom was not clean mouldy floor black stains and the bed for the disabled person was a camp fold up bed not suitable. A single bed usually height should be standard
Very comfortable room and bed. Very clean. Lovely staff.
Breakfast included in price but should have been described as continental. Extra for a cooked breakfast.
A lovely hotel and beautiful location.
There are some issues with double car parking when the hotel is full.
Room was comfortable and recently updated.. The location is excellent and fabulous restaurant on site. Loved the decanter of gin in the bedroom.
Nothing really.
Our family room was very spacious and the furniture was very authentic. We had a nice lunch on the upper deck and enjoyed sitting outside in the evening. The spa was good and the hotel is very clean. Generally at night was very quiet and the breakfast was early.
We didn't like much the area as it wasn't much to do in the evening. The floor boards in the room were squeaky. The duvets were very warm. We had to pay extra for English breakfast and also it was a gratitude on top of that. The parking at the hotel is very small and some cars had to park in the front of others. The bar area didn't feel cosy in the evening as you see other people eating their meals. It was a free gin in the room but you have to pay for tonic from the mini bar. Generally I felt that the price for the room was slightly overpriced.
Beautiful hotel , lovely room and bathroom . Excellent dinner View for breakfast room Staff lovely and couldn’t be more helpful. Great birthday welcome and loved the card and chocolates in my room
No air conditioning in room and couldn’t open window Lack of flexibility with check in and check out times which are now chargeable. Unable to use facilities such as gym because of way timings set Our breakfast croissants were stale!
the food was very good .The staff excellent. the two restaurants were very good
the first room was nothing like the photos on the website. No storage space whatsoever only one bedside table and no shelves or drwers for clothing. The wardrobe had no drawers or shelves it was occupied by a safe, coffee machine, tea making equipment and a mini bar.four coat hangers but that was that. The bed tookup most of the room no french windows as advertised. We had to live out of our suitcases for two days before another room was available.
From the start of checking in to checking out the staff made our stay impeccable. They recognised us, knew when to see if we wanted more drinks, were attentive without being fussy. The rooms were spotless, the ambience and laid back feel of the hotel made our stay so enjoyable
We had a great room with terrace balcony overlooking the Mudeford Spit. We were fortunate to be at the end of our wonderful summer of 2026. The room was compact and bijou but with a terrace we were happy. So comfortable too. Good food/excellent . The bus stop was right out side the hotel for Breezer (open top) or 1c bus to Christchurch town and beyond. We had efficient help from Phillip and Bruno and others from parking to tourist information and everything else. Compact parking but it is no problem to the hotel as they will park your car. We felt this holiday the best and it was special for my husband to enjoy his 80th treat.
The location was excellent and the room was clean with good facilities
Although we had a sea view room it would have been good to have had a balcony.
Location, the comfort, cleanliness, helpful happy staff
Having to pay extra for breakfast when it said it was included. Had to be out the spa by 11am on our leaving day
Lovely location on the quay
Room was a bit hot
Went for a work meeting and stayed the night before. Room was small and stuffy. Was on the road side so had traffic noise in the morning. Bathroom layout was clumbersome in that I had to climb over the toilet to get in the bath due to the shower screen. Also couldn’t turn the heating off. Externally there were renovation works going on, however the restaurant and little Bay Area with its own little pier was lovely to sit out in the evening. Car parking was also an issue with cars double parked, suggesting the car parking is too small
An excellent stay. Outstanding service in all areas. A great setting with views and from terraces alongside the harbour.
I hope an 'average' score overall is fair. It's a reflection of a one star and a five star so seems appropriate We held a team event for 13 of my colleagues during the day (late June) and then an evening meal for 10 of us to follow. Good points first : the daytime catering was served discretely and didn't interrupt the flow of our day and the quality of it was fine. The room we booked was large and spacious. the location of course is lovely. The evening meal quality was very good and the young staff serving were helpful albeit a bit confused when it came to the bill/card machine (which was pretty cheap at shy of £800). Low point : the staff member assigned to look after our room/management of the event was impossibly frosty and unhelpful. I can genuinely say that if she worked here for me, or in my other company, she would not be staying. I had the apparent audacity to ask her how to better control the air conditioning units in the room with the handset so that we didn't have to disturb the staff. Having looked sourly at me she eventually just walked in, picked up the handset - passed it to me and said 'ON/OFF. pointing at a button. Fair enough she clearly thought I was stupid but what I had asked was how to set it - there must have been 20 buttons on the device with various screens too so clearly I was not asking to be shown an on/off button. It was embarrassing for everyone. She continued with the same tone throughout our day. Every time I acknowledged her to let her pass by etc she blanked me and tutted. Sadly she then hang around the restaurant table as we ate for no obvious reason and continued the scowling and ignoring of us. We all have a bad day but Management should manage, not just ignore. We would not use again and will return to the Captains Club or the Hilton here in Bournemouth where the staff have manners and are not taught to show disdain to customers. I hope that is fair as a balanced reflection at 3 Stars.
No air conditioning
From the moment we first met with Lindsay, Sher and the incredible team at The Harbour, we knew our wedding was in the best possible hands. 💍✨ Every detail was handled with so much care, professionalism and warmth, and the whole weekend ran so seamlessly. From our initial meeting, to the special food tasting and overnight stay, right through to the handover meeting, we felt so looked after. The team truly listened to our vision and brought it to life in a way that was even more magical than we could have imagined. The wedding day itself was absolutely perfect. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was amazing, and every little detail made the day feel so special. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful experience. A special mention has to go to our stay in the annexe the night before. The room was beautiful, spacious and incredibly comfortable, giving us the perfect space for everyone to get ready together. And a huge shout-out to the breakfast team for the delicious room service — the perfect treat before the big day! 🥐☕️ Our bridal suite on the night of the wedding was simply magical. Waking up to the stunning harbour view and having the beautiful roll-top bath made it feel like the perfect ending to the most incredible weekend. We will treasure the memories of our wedding forever, and we’re so grateful to Lindsay, Sher and the entire team for making it so unforgettable. It really was the best weekend ever! ❤️ If you’re considering The Harbour for your wedding, we honestly couldn’t recommend it highly enough. You’ll be in the most wonderful hands! ✨
Everything even launched my paddle board from jetty
Nothing
This hotel is really lovely and it has so much potential, I think I will enjoy it a lot more in the future. One thing that was a great service was the concierge. The hotel car park is not at all big enough to cope with the capacity of guests but as soon as we arrived the concierge man was very friendly and helpful and let us leave the car where is was and he then kept the keys. The cars are all blocked in so if you need to leave in a rush you can’t but the hotel staff were very quick to move and cars out of the way for us when we needed to go somewhere. However, once we had checked in things went a bit downhill. The room was an absolute furnace, so stuffy and boiling hot and at the time we went there was no air con in the rooms. I believe this is being installed so in the future I’m sure it will be better but right now if you go when it’s hot (which is generally when you want to visit the seaside) you will not sleep well. Despite the hotel giving us a fan - and then an additional one the second night, I still had 2 nights of no sleep and felt very uncomfortable. Even in the morning it was still stiflingly warm in the room and we spent as little time in there as possible which was a shame as it was beautifully decorated but the rooms are also quite small and cramped so we didn’t really enjoy being in there. There aren’t really many other places to go in the hotel as there seem to mainly be function rooms as opposed to spaces for guests to relax in. I feel like the hotel is more geared towards weddings and you kind of feel like an intruder tiptoeing around the event. On our first night the music from the wedding was also very loud, it didn’t go on too late luckily but it did disturb us. As it was so hot we did make use of the outside area which has a gorgeous view of the harbour but the actual grounds could be so much nicer. The furniture is ok, there are a few comfortable sofas but the tables are tiny, old and worn. It could do with a bit of a revamp and maybe a bit of a garden makeover and some more maintenance as it has the potential to be really lovely. The Upper Deck restaurant is not particularly appealing inside but the outside deck area is lovely and the view at breakfast was amazing. One thing to note though is if you book through Booking.com and you pay extra to include breakfast as I did - you will only get a continental breakfast. If you wish to have a hot breakfast of any kind then you have to pay £10 which was quite annoying having already paid extra for breakfast - I assumed that meant a full breakfast but I didn’t read the small print. On that subject, if you can I would also advise booking directly through the hotel website as opposed to sites like Booking.com as I only later found out that there are deals on there which have things like dinner included. So I could have paid £40 less for my room and had dinner included if I booked directly on the website. When I spoke to someone in reservations she was quite rude and defensive when I brought this up and said my room had been upgraded so she wasn’t sure what more I wanted… the issue was that I didn’t ask for an upgrade, I would have been happy for the room I chose but it would have been nice to make use of the deal which was offered on the website but they couldn’t change my booking. The room upgrade was to a harbour view, which was a nice gesture that we really appreciated - however, the view is largely obstructed by a vast expanse of roof so if you do pay extra to have this view bear in mind that the harbour is a distance away and you can’t see it particularly clearly - not from our room anyway. It’s nice to have but I wouldn’t pay extra for the privilege. When we stayed the spa was also closed. I was aware of this before booking as Lynne from reception went out of her way to call me and make me aware of this which I really appreciated. She was so helpful and friendly when I called up to query some things. I didn’t mind the spa being closed as we wanted to spend all our time at the beach anyway but the ongoing renovations did spoil the ambience and views of the hotel a bit, you felt like you were staying on a bit of a building site. It was noisy during breakfast and there were builders walking past. It looks like it will be amazing once it is finished so as I said in the beginning, I’m sure staying here will be lovely in the future once the spa is finished and the ac is installed, but for us this time it was quite disappointing. Possibly because of reasons which I should have checked but I didn’t as it was a last minute booking due to a change of travel plans so it was a quick decision as opposed to a well researched long thought out plan. I would definitely like to visit again in the future as it is a gorgeous hotel and I’m sure once renovations are finished it will be perfect.
The location was superb.
The bedroom wasn’t very clean and the headboard was filthy. When we asked if we could move rooms one of the staff, a gentleman, was very kind and tried to help find an alternative room but then a second member of staff arrived, brushed him aside, was rather brusque and told us rudely there was nothing else without really looking. We were staying for a special anniversary and it rather spoiled our stay.
We had a wonderful 2 night stay with our 2 adult daughters. Our room had the added bonus of a lovely little private terrace outside (although a few weeds in the paving which should be removed). The beds were beautiful and incredibly comfortable and we got a great night’s sleep. It was hot but there was a fan in the room. The spa was fantastic and we particularly enjoyed relaxing on the sunbeds outside the Hideaway. I believe it has just reopened after being refurbished. I also had a massage, which was excellent. The location was perfect for exploring the area. We took the ferry over to Hengistbury Head and enjoyed a lovely walk around the peninsula. We also had a wonderful walk around Christchurch, visiting the Priory and the Quay. We paid extra for a 2 hour later check out for one of our rooms as our flight wasn’t until later in the evening. It was worth doing that. Overall, a superb hotel in a fantastic location. Beautiful rooms, excellent facilities and friendly staff, wonderful surroundings and plenty to see and do nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
Location is fabulous wonderful views, the staff are great friendly and helpful. A nice friendly relaxed atmosphere in which to unwind. The room was good very comfortable bed and a sea view, We thought it excellent value for money, spent most of one day using the spa facilities which were superb then had a luxurious massage. We ate in both restaurants and they were excellent both with the food quality and the service. Will definitely be going back.
Great location with a beautiful outlook out to sea and extraordinarily helpful hotel staff.
Most amazing surf and turf, but the proper type! Whole lobster plus steak shared between the 2 of us made the fabulous S&T. Staff as always amazing service and truly looked after! See you again soon!!
The property was very clean and so were the facilities The view from the room was amazing And the food was top class
Nothing
Great location just 5-10 mins walking to Mudeford Quay, The views from the restaurant and lower deck area over Mudeford Quay and across to Hengistbury Head are phenomenal. Spa facilities are nice. The standard room is very spacious, nicely decorated although some noise from delivery lorries. Bed is very comfortable and nice complimentary toiletries. Fan provided as there is no air con but still a bit uncomfortable in the hot spell. Staff came to offer ice for the room when it was really hot. Staff are friendly.
Parking was stressful and you didnt know if there would be a free space if you went out for the day. When we arrived a delivery lorry was blocking the entrance and we were stuck waiting for over 10 minutes with no attempt to let us though. For the price of the room we felt that some cooked breakfast should be included. Drink service in the evening in the outside area was really slow and you had to chase the staff for new drinks / signing the bill. Lighting near the quay side needs to be improved. Do not like that there is a charge for early check in even between 2-3pm.
Birthday lunch on “the deck”, quality of the food was outstanding as was the professional care given by Phil. He made our occasion extremely relaxing, not our first booking.. we keep returning.
We went for a night on 13th August to celebrate our 38th anniversary and everything was excellent. The position of the hotel was perfect with amazing views. The quality of food and service was also outstanding as was the Spa with the jacuzzi and swimming pool, sauna & steam room. We definitely intend to return and who needs to go abroad with hotels and service of this quality in the UK. Special thanks to Phil who initially showed us round rooms and always seemed to be available to assist. He was truly amazing.
Very good
Make it a bit cheaper and sort out parking
We stayed at the hotel with friends and booked three rooms. We are very grateful to the staff for assigning us rooms right next to each other. We had a wonderful time!
Fantastic Location, excellent spa and very friendly and helpful staff.
Nothing
Too many weddings
What an amazing hotel. We were there for a wedding reception. The whole event was beautifully managed by the staff. From photos on the scenic surroundings, the choreography of getting over 50 3 course meals to all the tables at the same time! AMAZING. After a few hours relaxing by the waterside with an outside bar, we were guided down to the party lounge downstairs ( separate from other patrons) We were ALL delighted by our stunning rooms, beautiful bathrooms with all that you require, including bathrobes and slippers! And here's a 1st ( for me anyway) gin was placed in every room. Breakfast was very tasty and again the service couldn't have been better. Excellent value for money. I can highly recommend Harbour Hotel.
We have stayed in the Christchurch Harbour Hotel many times over the years and on every occasion we have had a wonderful time. Everyone is so friendly and the service is absolutely excellent. The accommodation is perfect - top quality and beautifully clean, The restaurants have a wonderful atmosphere and the food is absolutely delicious. Another few days of luxury planned in the autumn!
Location amazing, staff super friendly and accommodating Spa lovely Rooms way too small and cluttered. No need for so many big furniture items that make the room feel so small and cramped. Also room was way too hot , read 27 degrees all night, 1 little fan and window barely opens
Continental breakfast was absolutely sufficient. It was fresh and plenty. I would say the Croissants could have been bigger
Nothing really, the parking was a little full, but they managed it really well.
Location was excellent. Facilities first class. Atmosphere was perfect. Wished we booked additional nights.
Nothing came mind
Only a small double inland room view available but we were really satisfied with its size and position. Breakfast was very good with a option to order hot food, dinner was excellent although a little pricey especially the drinks. The spa looked really nice with a good size pool, as the weather was excellent we didn’t get around to using it this time.
There wasn’t anything we disliked
Very comfortable and chilled.
Nothing, we love it.
The proximity to the beach and the indoor pool. The spa treatments were also excellent. Very quiet area
The resterant food was ok. Not as good as the price was.
We had a pleasant two night break at The Harbour. But i have to say there were definitely some disappointments regards our stay. We actually stayed at the Hotel many years ago,one Easter, with our children, when it was a Trust House Forte group hotel. Basically upon arrival, there was a wedding,(revellers were extremely loud ,late that night),so car park was rammed. To his credit the concierge did offer for us to double park, and he would later move it (my husband is a blue badge holder).Luckily one of the workers moved their van for us,so we were sorted. We were offered no help with our luggage, either on arrival or upon leaving. Check in was very unwelcoming, the girl was extremely young, and it was as if she was reading from a script,we were told absolutely nothing about the hotel, just handed a key,and left to get on with it,actually very poor. We booked the Upper deck for the first night and The Jetty for the second. It was a celebration for our special anniversary, and i had asked previously for a window table. We were running slightly late on the second night,so my husband asked for a bit of leeway on our time, the Maitre de ,was quite curt ,that our table would go if we were more than 15 minutes late,we made sure we were there! When we arrived, we were trying to get in the front door, and were just ignored by the waiters, when i asked about our request for a window table,we were not given one, though it was a previous request,as a special occasion, so very disappointing. We actually found the manager quite off ,admittedly busy, but it is your job, surely to be polite, especially to residents. Food was very tasty, and well presented. Wine ,very expensive, and frankly not even a decent wine. Restaurants should always offer a very decent house wine. Junior staff were all lovely. It was at management level, that was lacking,in fact poor and unwelcoming, actually we never once saw the hotel manager, definitely a lacking of welcome, sadly.
Beautiful hotel, room was good size and fully equipped. Stunning views and great location with only a 5 minute walk to Mudeford Quay and beaches. Staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough for you
Nothing
Location, views and general decor all very good. Staff were excellent!
Our room was on the top floor but, on arrival, we were informed that the lift was out of order and that there was no prospect of it being Fixed during our stay. Also, our room was small, with minimal storage. Unfortunately, probably due to the extreme temperatures, there was an odour from the seaweed at low tide that was all pervasive.
Fantastic hotel, lovely helpful staff, perfect location and views and amazing food. Everything was great and we will return. Note there is no air con in the rooms but we had a fan and we took the duvet out of its cover and just used the cover so slept well!
Great to have a very varied continental breakfast with hard boiled eggs
Lights in room are a little bit complicated but work after a few tries!
Great scenery and comfort
The spa facilities down away from the fantastic views was a shame
We love this hotel, it’s a beautiful location, lovely rooms and delicious food. The staff were brilliant. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We stayed 5 days and it wasn’t nearly long enough.
Phil was an exemplary waiter...
Staff on arrival were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Room was clean and very comfortable bed. Location good. Spa facilities good.
Breakfast was total chaos. Long wait to be served and buffet not replenished with no fruit salad available after 9am. Staff did not seem to know what they should be doing. Sadly lovely welcoming staff from evening before not on duty when we left.
Location, food.
Dietary requirements staff may need extra training. All corrected when a mistake occurred.
Continental breakfast was very tasty, with plenty of choice of cereals and pastries. Dinner was so good in The Upper Deck on the first night, that we cancelled our booking for The Jetty for our 2nd night and returned to the Upper Deck. Our waiter, Phil was partly our reason for choosing the Upper Deck again, as he was very friendly and made us feel special. Please thank him on our behalf. Both myself and my partner were senior cabin crew for a major airline, so we have many years of experience working in customer service.
The weather was very warm and our room was extremely hot on our arrival. There was one fan in the room, but when we requested another fan, we were told that demand was high and the Receptionist could not guarantee that our request would be met. We did not receive another fan. I feel strongly that at the prices we were paying, the hotel should have been able to buy more fans for the basic comfort of their guests. Our room faced West, so the sun was shining into the room for several hours in the afternoon.
This is a fabulous hotel. Great location, lovely room, fab outside areas and excellent food. However, the friendly and professional staff in every department really made my stay special. Nothing was too much trouble for them. My room was well appointed with a secluded patio to sit in. Because I had read full details of the hotel in advance I was aware there was no air con but this wasn’t a problem. I didn’t need the fan supplied as I was able to leave patio doors partly open in a secure position. Can highly recommend and hope to return in the future.
Staff & location
no air con not much choice on buffet breakfast
Lovely hotel, friendly and welcoming and attentive staff
No thing not to like
Great location, lovely grounds, splendid views from garden.
No a/c in our room, too hot to sleep. Not really good enough at this price point. The room rate ‘included breakfast’ but you have to pay extra if you want a cooked breakfast.
The staff were attentive and helpful, the location and food excellent.
No dislikes though air conditioning in the bedrooms is overdue.
The view is spectacular. Evening meals were delicious. Staff attentive and genuinely friendly. Rooms comfortable.
Lack of air conditioning for this particular UK summer!
Stunning location. Wonderful staff couldn’t do enough for you. Very friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend this hotel
The bed was so comfortable. The room was clean and tidy and the facilities and location were great. For me, having a bath was a big bonus too. Breakfast was amazing too.
The only negative comment is that there was no air conditioning, which in the current heatwave was almost unbearable. I understand that the hotel have applied to install air conditioning, which will be brilliant.
The hotel is in a lovely location. However the reason for my visit was to escape the heat inland . I was very surprised and disappointed at the lack of air-conditioning in the room rooms. There was a noisy inadequate fan on the dressing table. Due to the noisy fan and the heat in the room, I got no sleep that night.. The food is very good, and most of the staff are friendly and helpful.
Everything
Everything
The garden is lovely; you can have a nice drink and enjoy the view of the harbour. You also get a nice view on the upper deck restaurant where the food is very good. Staff are helpful and nice. The problem was the room: it was very small. Too small given the price we were paying.
We are here at the moment and must disagree with some of the other comments. Reception were very efficient, polite and welcoming explaining everything to us. Restaurant staff were extremely good, they were young but well trained and polite. Food was delicious and had a varied menu with local delicacies. When we booked there was only the deluxe room estuary view left but how lucky were we. Very large, clean, lovely bed, had everything you could possibly need, iron, coffee machine, mini bar, toiletries. It was very hot but they provided us with a fan. The balcony could have been cleaner and made more attractive but it didn’t spoil our visit. Would recommend going for a bigger room with estuary view it’s not cheap but definitely worth it.
Great location and lovely few sitting in the garden for drinks before dinner. The beds are amazing, very comfortable. The staff were very attentive and the welcome at reception was spot on!
Afraid we were at the hotel during the hot weather and the room was stifling. No AC just a fan, which honestly just moved the warm air around for a few hours. It was cooler in the corridor than the room.
Beds are incredibly comfortable. Restaurants excellent.
Shower didn't drain very fast. Fan was very dirty..
Excellent location . Lovely outside area overlooking the estuary . Great room . Lovely food but a bit expensive.
Cost . It was expensive
Good location and the restaurants serve lovely seafood. The rooms are sub- par; we had torn towels in our room and the toilet bowl was dark brown upon check-in. The staff did attend to these problems but clearly shows the housekeeping is very poor and understaffed. The rooms are also unpleasantly warm in the summer months as there is no air conditioning and the small fan doesn’t really help. Not a hugely enjoyable stay if you are paying peak prices.
Great hotel beautifully furnished. Room was beautiful and bathroom really lovely. Fantastic views and lovely staff. Ate at The Jetty...we absolutely loved it great atmosphere, views and exceptional food.
Shutters in the room...some were broken so weren't sitting right which mean"t alot of light in room 205 came through with the added outside light on all night across from us. Therefore had a disturbed night sleep even with trusted eye mask I take every where with me.. Then just before 8am banging and a grinding machine started up opposite the front of the hotel. I'm sure they'll be feedback from other residents for Thursday 9th July.. Surely there should be an agreement with the hotel about expected times of construction work ...8am way way too early.. Work my husband. Nno chance of a lie on. Very suprised to learn at 9.20 breakfast the fruit salad had ran out. Really disappointed at that and don't think thats acceptable either. At the same time saw three small bread batons and I asked are these the last three ? staff member confirmed back yes. Really poor and quite unreally for the standard of hotel. Wev'e all paid a lot of money to stay at the hotel. Last thing clearly air onditioning is needed on the bedrooms.
We found that Lynn front of house was exceptional with managing the allocation of our room ensuring we had the room of our choice. Thank you Lynne. All the other staff could not be more attentive and helpful. Ensuring we had a lovely stay.
Location was perfect. The staff were exceptional. The food was delicious
The bathroom shower was not appropriate for my elderly mother - need to have walk-in showers available
Staff were courteous and friendly and informative. The restaurant staff were very professional and the service and food were excellent. The bedroom was clean and well maintained. The location of the hotel was great with beautiful views. The food and service from the waiting staff in the Jetty restaurant was exceptional.
We had booked a small room and although the temperature was only around 20 degrees it was uncomfortably hot with minimal ventilation provided by the small window. However, we appreciate that the larger rooms probably don’t have the same problem.
Harbour lives up to its reputation Excellent friendly well trained and attentive staff especially the young people in the restaurant Both The Too Deck and the Jettu serve excellent food and cocktails Gin in room on arrival was a nice touch as was the ‘milk ice and a slice room service round’ early evening Room 217 small No air con in room or hotel No decaf tea bags in room 217 sold as estuary view with balcony Balcony very small with uncomfortable rusty old uncomfortable deck chairs or uncomfortable high bar stools and you can only see estuary if you’re stood up! If you sit on balcony you can only see concrete! All together an enjoyable visit but would request a different room if returning
Breakfast was great.Loved the room very luxurious . Beautiful setting looking over the harbour.
We would have liked to have known that on the upper deck you cannot guarantee where we would be seated. We wanted a special table as it was a special occasion. I'm so glad I mentioned it to the staff .Fortunately they were very accommodating and we got a very good table. The only other small point is you get the free gin which is great but you have to pay for the tonic.Maybe you could be a bit more up front about it.
Lovely hotel, pleasant location. Excellent room, as always, and wonderful bed. Our inland room had a pleasant enough outlook but there was a lot of noise from the the kitchen below at times. Senior staff seemed distracted by functions, but overall we enjoyed the ambience of a well run establishment. BUT my breakfast coffee was instant. Surely a hotel of this calibre should take pride in serving a good quality ground decaffeinated coffee at breakfast to match the excellent food? This is my second complaint. Fowey Harbour Hotel was the same and friends tell me that two other harbour hotels are also lacking. Come on Harbour Hotels – get your act together!
Beachfront
Spa out of use
Lovely location Friendly staff
We had a really lovely 3 night stay in June. We stayed in deluxe harbour view room - it was very comfortable and we loved sitting by the windows taking in the view. We ate at The Jetty and The Upper Deck both restaurants were very good but The Jetty was our favourite - fantastic food and the service was absolutely brilliant, well worth the price. We found the continental breakfast very good so didn't pay the additional cost for a cooked breakfast. Parking is restricted but the staff were really helpful letting us double park in the car park and then shuffling cars when spaces became available. The hotel location is ideal, we walked to Mudeford Quay and took the ferry over to Hengistbury Head, walked to Avon Beach and Highcliffe Castle - in fact we didn't use the car during our stay! The spa was under refurbishment but we were able to book a couple of treatments - Kate was fantastic, I had a lovely reflexology session. Hopefully air conditioning will be installed soon, as that will really help in the hot days. All in all, we had a super break, all the staff were very nice and we would love to return.
Thought we’d enjoy some luxury rather than usual premier Inn when we visited relatives. We were disappointed!. Our room, overlooking the car park, had stains on the bed headboards, looked like greasy hair marks. We were told staff had tried to clean it but couldn’t remove marks. We asked to be moved, which we were, but have to ask why that room was sold in such a state. This is not a cheap hotel! Reception service was slow when we complained about bed, no acknowledgement that we we were waiting.,
The location was lovely and the sitting outside for breakfast was nice, and our meal at the Jetty was lovely. Your staff were friendly.
The room I felt was very tired, (a crack in the basin which was filled with filler not repaired), the bathroom was dated, the room needs a paint around the door, the fridge in the cupboard was acting more like a heater making the room really hot. (so hot I'd say it felt like a fire risk).. A fan that did nothing (you need AC), and a ant problem not just on the terrace but also on the bed side tables. But overall the room was also very tight for space. Parking that was slightly chaotic, luckily i lucked in when someone left, Although we had a great anniversary break, I'm sorry but the room was a bit of a disappointment. Also as my wife is coeliac there was some part of the breakfast that could not be provided, it seemed very poor that those items were not replaced with either duplicates or replacements of things that are gluten free. (BTW hash browns ARE gluten free!). Good coeliac experiences spread fast in their community (as do bad), This is an untapped resource as far as your hotel is concerned. (Note the Jetty is great for this and has a good reputation, and the reason we chose you)
It is a beautiful lovation
The room was not that big also i did not book what they call a cosy room just as well Obviously the weather was hot you cant open the window fully Also it said breakfast included it is only continental
Everything was fabulous. The staff cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable. The food is excellent, breakfast and dinner in both restaurants.
The rooms are very hot
Clen room great bed quiet and comforable
We were staying at this hotel for one night. We booked in at reception, very friendly and accommodating. The car park was very busy. Our room was lovely, clean and a generous size, my only fault was the bathroom really needed a refurb, but clean. We are in The Jetty which was lovely, food was delicious and great service, separate review, No issues for us.
Booking.com didn't indicate that the Spa.and.pools.were closed for.refurbishment. The food was terrible. Such bad quality Fish lasagne.was days.old. Dry, overcooked. Cheap ingredients. Tasted like a dolmio bechamel sauce. That cost £26. Horrendous. Starters were overdone standard toast with dips. The mayonnaise/ tomato.sauce dip sums up the place. Overpriced. Trying to be highly end, but is definitely not. Booking.com indicated that breakfast is included. On arrival we were informed that breakfast is included, but only continental. Again, thus wasn't indicated when I booked. The trip was a treat for my partner. Standing there complaining was not an option. Disappointed. AVOID
