This is an older hotel, very close to the High Street and a short walk to The Priory and waterfront. The room was very nice, large bathroom. The bed wasn’t terribly comfortable but we were only there for two nights. I loved the tea set up in our room that included a variety of organic teas, fresh milk, kettle and cookies. So nice to have in the morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn’t eat in the hotel as there are many restaurants on the High Street but it looked very elegant and nice. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would stay there again in the future.
Room spacious and well equipped. But you had to be a gymnast to use the shower in the bath.
Friendly and helpful staff. Room very comfortable and lovely bar. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.
Staff was very good nothing was too much trouble would have liked it better if we could of had an evening meal at the hotel
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and it was a nice touch having a free drink token.
We had a lovely stay, staff are great and the rooms are bright and modern. We will definitely be back!
Phenomenal location, very nice rooms, courteous staff. Loved everything about this place.
Our stay was incredible, made even more fabulous by Briony, Rahul and Spencer, who all showed a friendly and professional approach. Our room, room 101, was fantastic!! Large, freshly decorated and homely. Our bed was huge and the bedding gorgeous, although a larger duvet would be a good addition. The bathroom was clean, large and well lit. We loved our stay and will definitely to The King's Arms.
Fantastic hotel, beautiful interior, standing proud in the centre of Christchurch, with an imposing position overlooking the old priory ruins and castle. The staff were attentive, there was a small mix up on check in, that was sorted swiftly and promptly. Given the wrong door key by a young member of staff, I would imagine still training. Early check in was a great bonus to opt for, just a small additional charge. The priory king rooms were large and airy. The large Georgian windows were fantastic, one small drawback, the traffic noise but as it is on a main road it was to be expected. The blinds do not all close together, several slates needs to be done manually. This could possibly be addressed as it is a little frustrating having to close them individually! But this was remedied in a few minutes. The beds and pillows were comfy ensuring a sound nights sleep. I wouldn’t hesitate to return. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending our nephews 21st birthday celebration. Lovely hotel although our room was a little small but adequate for our stay. Breakfast was lovely. Would we stay here again without a doubt.
a great stay, staff very helpful (especiually as we left some dresses behind). Breakfast grea
Lovely, bright and well presented, great staff always helpful. Location perfect close to bus routes, high street but far enough from Bournemouth not to suffer from crowded roads and so many people. Food excellent Very comfortable bed No street noise
Plantation style shutters were broken and the milk in the fridge was spoiled. The bath was also badly chipped and the air conditioning was blasting straight onto the kids’ bed despite the cool weather, even when I turned the temperature way up. The room then became unbearably stuffy when the air con was turned off, as unable to open windows. The milk was replaced and staff came to look at the shutters and tried to bodge them shut. Was told the issue would be reported to maintenance in the morning. It was difficult to settle the kids to sleep in the light and cold/hot conditions, and then we all woke up very early due to sunlight flooding in. Extremely disappointing given the price point and no compensation offered.
Super friendly and helpful staff, rooms spotlessly clean
Calm and peaceful, comfy bed and secure parking, will be coming back
Delightful hotel ,beautiful decor in bar , excellent parking Great welcome from host and bar staff. Easy to park and in a good position in Christchurch . Definitely return when we have more time .
We booked relatively last minute for a one-night stop; this would be a good base for a longer stay. Newly-refurbished (2024/25?) it was clean throughout, comfortable in all respects. Our room was a 3rd floor (attic) room, so not much of a window and no view. We'd probably want more natural light for a longer stay, but it was fully functional, excellent en suite and cheaper than chain hotel options, so no complaints really. Staff were friendly and helpful and we were very happy to be given a token for a free first drink in the bar!! We weren't going to order breakfast but did have the continental option in the end - good value, possibly better than the cooked option. But everything was excellently fresh and that includes the milk in the room! Free car parking opposite the front door, but possibly not enough space if fully occupied - get there early! All in all, recommended
Lovely hotel, room a bit clostrophobic. Shower trap was blocked so did not drain and couldn’t really have a proper shower. Handle fell off bathroom door leaving trapped inside. Light broke above basin. Staff extremely un-attentive over breakfast. I would say average hotel at an expensive hotel price.
Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at the Kings Arms. Fantastic location, right in town centre. Free parking, a big bonus. Friendly staff, welcome drink, fantastic room, air conditioned, comfy bed, lovely bathroom. Will definitely return. Thoroughly recommend.
Beautiful rooms and a great bar.
The whole experience was outstanding, not only the expected level of the accomodation and service, but the willingness to help our visit as good as possible, like recomendations of places to visit, where to dine and a host of instances in the small detail that adds to the experence THANKS
Great Hotel in an excellent location.
An enjoyable four-night stay. Handsome Georgian building, recently refurbished, right in the centre of town. No garden or outdoor space though, and no car park as such, just some dedicated space at the back of the pavement across the road. Friendly, welcoming staff. Complimentary drink provided. Room rather small, with not much storage, but with aircon and a nice bathroom, with an ingenious nightlight arrangement for nocturnal visits! Nicely cooked breakfast with a reasonable amount of choice (no kippers or black pudding though!). We had trouble getting adequately strong coffee, but got there in the end.
Hi there, I was there for a one-night-stay (some funerals). The staff was nice and welcoming! The bedroom was comfortable and spacious with an excellent air-con with unforgiving hot conditions (heatwave) outside. After a train-trip impacted by the hot temperatures, it was great to arrive in this haven! Next morning, Breakfast was excellent. There are a few nice places around, though I arrived on a Monday evening, so many restaurants were closed. The hotel is well located at walking distance from shops, restaurants and places to visit. Ras
I had an amazing trip & this hotel was part of it. I found the staff to be exceptional & very helpful. I loved having the restaurant right in the hotel. My room overlooked the ruins & the Priory & had air conditioning & a walk in shower which were priorities for me. It was a quick walk to the high street for shopping, bank, other food options & a quick walk to the ferries on the river. I would absolutely stay here again.
The hotel room had shutters which did not block out the light and the aircon unit was really loud
Lovelly staff.good room .Great breakfast .Convenient .
Lovely room, fantastic staff, great breakfast too.Would definitely stay again.
I received a call from the hotel the day after the booking was confirmed via Hotels.com. They told me they were fully booked and the reservation would have to be cancelled.
The staff are lovely. The rooms are excellent. The mistake in the choice of rooms to book was the fault of Expedia. There photographs and descriptions were not accurate. The staff at the hotel have since dealt with the issue. I would highly recommend the Kings Arms and will be sure to stay again.
This is a lovely hotel in the perfect location for a visit to Christchurch. The premier room we had was huge and well appointed. The aircon was very useful in the hot weather we had. We got the early check in, which I recommend as it’s easier to find a parking spot earlier in the day. The staff were very friendly and even gave us a free welcome drink. We will definately stay here again.
Fantastic location. Lovely, comfy room and super staff.
Dear Kings Arms Team, I just wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you for a truly excellent experience during my recent visit. I stayed the night and hired one of your business spaces the following day - both were absolutely spot on. Your team, though new, were exceptional throughout. Every member of staff was warm, helpful, and made the whole experience feel seamless. I travel frequently and stay in many hotels, but I can honestly say The Kings Arms stands out as one of the best I’ve come across. You’ve created an environment that feels both professional and welcoming - I felt completely at home. Thank you once again. I look forward to visiting again soon. Warm regards, Richard Frazer
Such a lovely place to stay with lovely staff!
All good
Disappointed the restaurant was not open
Position by the river and in the town no need to drive
The stay was a lovely relief after a busy day. The room was large and comfortable, however the pillows were very soft. We ate at the hotel with the food being beautifully presented and delicious. Would recommend.
Newly refurbished in great style, the hotel was a delight in all respects. From a really friendly welcome to a lovely big bedroom (with a great view of the old castle ruins and beautiful Priory church) and an excellent evening meal we were really happy with our choice.
Lovely hotel, comfortable room. Biscuits left for us with tea and coffee but one of the two packs had been eaten and the wrapper left! Wedding going on the night we stayed and loud music went on until midnight.
The hotel is very nice and the room was lovely. My only complaint was a noisy fridge in the room and bizzarre as.you may think, there was a ghostly pressence in my room which freaked me out slighy. If you like parranormal experiences, try room 202
A one night stay on a business trip. Comfortable room, good food, and upgrading from the continental to a full english breakfast was good value.
Lovely property with great restaurant. We stayed in a beautiful bedroom, with balcony. Great central location. Sister hotel has spa that can be used free of charge in Muddeford. We will definitely return.
Lovely hotel with smart decor and rooms. Excellent facilities.
Clean, polite and efficient staff, good facilities and nice setting. Good Continental Breakfast too.
Fantastic place to stay, staff, food and accommodation was excellent but there is limited parking
Very comfortable and vosyb
I have stayed in this hotel many times and it is one of my favourites. Lovely atmosphere and a fantastic location along with great food.
Great time at The Kings Arms ,staff very helpful and friendly, service from staffwas top class thank you for making our stay pleasant .
Just a lovely little hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay here very much. Good food-we dined in on the night of our arrival-and a very good breakfast as well. The bed was lovely and super comfortable and we very much appreciated the towel warmer as the weather was super wet when we arrived. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely comfortable stay and friendly staff.
Nice welcome
Fantastic stay at The Kings Arms Hotel in Christchurch. The staff were all amazing and so friendly and helpful.
Lovely hotel with helpful staff
this hotel is perfect for my wife and I its a superb location very nice staff - we live in Manchester and visit my father in law who lives close by it ticks all the boxes
I had good preconceptions about what I might find for a one night stay. The preconceptions proved true ~ everything was as I had wished. Unconditionally recommended !
It was unfortunate that we visited on one of the hottest days of the year as our room didn't have air conditioning and the window was limited to opening only a few inches at the bottom, and would not open at the top, so no round draught could be created. The fan provided did little to help and we had an uncomfortably hot night. Other than that, the hotel was good and the staff very helpful. The continental breakfast buffet was also good, although the gluten-free options were limited (though the gluten-free bread was very good).
Nice view though in the attic so avoid third floor as bumped head a few times! very hot in summer though found fan in wardrobe. Overall good service and facilities. Good food too.
Everything perfect
Absolutely lovely place in a lovely town
Beautiful hotel and our room was exceptionally lovely and large and beautiful clean. All staff were smiley, welcoming, polite and helpful. The restaurant was nearly full on a Tuesday night which is a great sign. We booked ahead for chateaubriand which was spectacular. The breakfast buffet wasn’t filled enough to cope with the number of guests. But the staff did their best to help.
Great central location close to the Priory. The hotel was welcoming & well decorated with parking at the back. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
We stayed overnight after a local event. Hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful
Another wonderful stay! Staff are fantastic and the location is perfect. Super comfy beds and spacious rooms. We’ll be back, thank you!
Wonderful short stay, room, staff, and food fantastic
Lovely hotel, food was good . I think service in te restaurant needs to be better. A bit of training would make the restaurant and the overall experience an exceptional one. The shower was a bit of a challenge, kept getting hot and cold which was very annoying
The staff were extremely welcoming and helped to make our visit so enjoyable. The continental breakfast was excellent.
Excellent location, within a short stroll of the river, ruins, bars, shops and eateries. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We managed to get a free hotel parking space very easily. The only downsides were, our room was next to the lift, so it was noisy as people returned to the hotel in the early hours, plus the pillows were incredibly soft and offered no support at all. That said, we would definitely stay there again!
A really lovely hotel. Very nicely decorated especially in the lounge area and dining room plus bar. Centrally located for Christchurch. Staff happy and friendly and very professional.
Great stay. Lovely rooms and beautiful area
Very nice stay, thank you
Greatttt place. Charm location. History
A really excellent Hotel in a perfect location for exploring historic Christchurch.
A really excellent Hotel in a perfect location for exploring historic Christchurch.
Charming place to stay
Lovely room in a beautiful location, near to shops, cafes and restaurants
Nice hotel & couldn’t fault our priory room, that was lovely. Limited parking opposite, we had to park in a public car park on our second day. We thought there would be more of a choice on the dinner menu so we chose to eat elsewhere. Found breakfast to be on the expensive side & feel that tea/coffee should be included & not charged as a separate entity. We waited a long time to be served at the bar on our first afternoon & that particular staff member came across a bit too obnoxious, unfortunately. That being said, overall we had a pleasant stay.
We had a really wonderful stay, the staff here are friendly and helpful, the beds soooo comfy and the bathroom shower gel, body cream just lovely. The hotel is located right where you want to be, my daughter’s room had a great view of the priory and we could walk along the river to the harbour. Perfect!
Beautiful Hotel with lovely staff.
Attention to detail was excellent, great staff and atmosphere, food superb.
Great location
Chateaubriand was ok we asked for medium well but it was quite rare and we do not think it’s worth the £65 .
The hotel and room were extremely clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. A lovely break in a superb location. Would definitely stay there again.
Nice hotel with great breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout the stay. Inside of hotel is beautiful. Bedroom was excellent, Queen room, with plenty of space, lovely decor and very comfortable. Good selection of tea and coffee. Only criticism is the bill is hard to understand.
Sorry I‘m not happy bed in loft room. It make us little itchy in my sleeping. That was problem.
This is a great place to stay, the room was amazing. Staff were brilliant. I two minor criticisms, and they didn't impact my stay but they could have. 1. Music from restaurant filtered up in the room, and didn't switch off until 11:45. When I first arrived in the room I thought it was a speaker in the room playing 'relax and welcome' music, but it wasn't it became more dancey as the night went on. 2. The road is a bit noisy - again this isn't the hotel's fault. The hotel is in an excellent location. I guess you get used to this!!
Nice location
The staff are so helpful and obviously take a real pride in the hotel. Beautiful hotel in a lovely part of Christchurch. Our second stay and would highly recommend
This was the third time I have stayed here and was the best. The restaurant was very good and the atmosphere was excellent
Not sure whether the Kings Arms is a Hotel with Bar and Restaurant or a Bar/Restaurant wih rooms. Whichever - it's a very pleasant place to stay in and eat at while in Christchurch. Situated in the nicest part of the town, opposite the ruins of the abbey and by a nice river walk down to the quay. My room was the largest available and was very well appointed. Lots of space, fridge, safe, full tea/coffee making facilities, nice bathroom, etc. Breakfasts were excellent, almost anything you could want was either laid out on the bar or available from the menu. I had one dinner there and it was delicious. Staff all friendly and helpful. Minor niggles: Freeview reception would cut out for minutes at a time, muzak from the bar seeped into my room (but was turned down in the evening when requested), not really a dedicated reception - more an extesion of the bar, church bells ringing the hours and quarter hours (I found it comforting but others might not!!!), overhead shower took many minutes to get hot (although bath and sink would come through hot immediately????). Minor issues. Would defintely stay there again or eat there if in town.
Came for 2 nights to celebrate birthday and had lovely stay. Stayed in room 101 which was very spacious with a comfortable large bed. Only down side was noise from traffic outside and also they emptied bottle bins at around 6am which was very loud. However, this didn’t stop us enjoying stay. All staff were very helpful and friendly (especially Charlotte in the restaurant who was lovely) Attention to detail was exceptional which included tasty tea and coffee, complimentary water in fridge and high class bedding.
Lovely location
Stayed in room 102 directly above reception and 3 ceiling mounted music speakers . At 10.30 i had to go down and ask the manager to turn down the music volume so that we could sleep. There were no customers in the area .He was very apologetic and turned it down.
Better than expected. Really nice place, lovely bar and great rooms. Breakfast was great too
Nice hotel, huge room, but road outside busy so quite a bit of noise.
Excellent hotel, friendly and efficient staff. Impressive interior design.
Beautiful hotel, we loved the decoration of the various rooms, very friendly staff and room 103 was really nicely sized with incredible views, however sadly it was too noisy for us on a Saturday night (with a wedding reception in the building next door). We could hear each song very clearly in our room, so it was unfortunately not the relaxing experience that we had hoped for. The music was admittedly great, and did finish at a reasonable time, but we were tired after a busy day and just wanted to relax in our room. The room was gorgeous but situated about 10 yards from a set of traffic lights (which had large lorries and boy racers at 1am waiting). The parking was a bit confusing too so we ended up parking nearby (and paying). Remove the noise & disruptions and it would be a 5/5.
Liked - Staff friendly and helpful. Nice room. Overall a very nice couple of days. Disliked - After an unusually long wait after ordering breakfast, including two poached eggs, when it arrived one egg was hard boiled, cold and rock hard. We didn’t complain as had waited over half-hour anyway. Unfortunate as breakfast was perfect the day before.
Excellent hotel. Very large room, courtyard facing room was also really quiet. so comfortable bed. Excellent food. All the staff so helpful and helpful. Highly recommend and we will be returning.
