Araliya Green City - Your Gateway to Everything in Nuwara Eliya

We were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a spacious family room for just the two of us, though the space ended up feeling a bit too large and cold. While the room itself was big, the bathroom was very congested and the shower area suffered from water clogging. We also experienced some issues with service: our request for a bedroom lock received a very delayed response, and overall, the staff was not very responsive.

אהבנו את הוולקם דרינג, כאשר הגענו לצאק אין הודיעו לנו ששודרגנו בחדר וזה היה ממש נחמד, רק חבל שלא יכולנו לפתוח חלון בגלל הריח של המסעדה מלמטה והתחנת דלק שכל הזמן שמעו ממנה אוטובוסים.

מומלץ מאוד לשפר את האוכל, קבלנו קלקול קיבה בארוחת צהריים, ועוד הארוחת בוקר לא פחות גרועה מהארוחת צהריים, כל מה ששמתי בצחת השארתי בצלחת. ממליצה ללמד את אורחי המלון לא להתווכח עם לקוח כאשר הוא מגיע לעמדת החביתה ומבקש בית מקוקשת עם תוספות והעובד עונה לו ואומר יש לך ביצה מקושקשת בבופה. בית מלון מיושן מאוד, הספות קרועות, יש בעיה עם החימום, שומעים את מה שהשכנים מדברים בניהם. לא אחזור לבית מלון הזה

À mon sens les prestations ne sont pas dignes d’un 5 étoiles. La propreté dans la chambre était limite, notamment au niveaux des fauteuils. Aucune serviette dans les 3 chambres que nous avions réservées. La piscine est vraiment petite pour un établissement avec autant de chambres, elle est bondée en 5 minutes…. Le buffet n’est pas mal mais on s’attend à mieux dans ce type d’établissement…

Great location, friendly staff. Great multicuisine food court with a variety of choices. Rooms are large & comfortable with heaters. Breakfast choices were good with good spread of Sri Lankan, Indian & English Breakfast choices.

Food court closes relatively early by 10pm & not many restaurants close by. There is a heated pool but smaller size & quite crowded.. Drivers room is cramped & driver had to find alternative accommodation.

This was the second time I booked a stay at Araliya Green City to celebrate my dad’s birthday, and once again, the experience was absolutely wonderful. My parents stayed from 23rd to 26th August 2026 and had an amazing time. I arranged their stay from New Zealand, and the hotel made my dad’s birthday extra special by providing a complimentary birthday cake. 🎂❤️ It was such a thoughtful gesture, and my parents truly appreciated it. From the moment they arrived, they received a warm welcome and excellent service throughout their stay. The staff were friendly, attentive and incredibly helpful, ensuring that my parents felt comfortable and well cared for. I’m truly grateful to the entire Araliya Green City team for once again making my dad’s birthday so memorable. This is now the second time I’ve chosen this hotel for his birthday, and I will definitely continue booking stays here in the future. Muy buena ubicacion, limpio, buffet esplendido y personal amable. Al llegar nos atendio Dinithi y fue muy amable y atento.

The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The buffet also offered excellent Sri Lankan and Asian options.

The cable TV can be upgraded. Nowadays, some hotels provide smart TVs that let guests use online streaming services such as YouTube and Netflix (via guests' accounts). Then, guests can watch what they prefer.

Executive room was excellent with great views of the city and hills. The location was brilliant for walking out to town. Staff were very friendly and always happy to help with a smile. The food court catered for everyone and the breakfast was excellent with lots of variety. The bar staff at the Fox and hound were brilliant. Mr Thiyagu on the front desk was always helpful and on hand. Indrajith in the food court was charming and friendly.

They provide kitchen but no utensil. Felt overpriced for there are no real facilities at the hotel for guests. Food court etc seems open to public and not upscale.

The hotel itself is decent. Good location in the city

Hotel had planned maintenance which causes electricity to cut from 11 pm to 3 am. This was only communicated to me after check in and payment were completed. This is despite the hotel messaging me earlier in the day to check time of arrival where they could've easily mentioned the maintenance. Super unprofessional in communicating this in time. Had I known, I would have cancelled my booking and moved elsewhere but I was stuck with my choice due to the lack of transparency

I chose that hotel in the last minute and I was afraid it won't be good but I was really surprised. The hotel is really nice. A very good value for money. The staff were really nice. The pool was great and the location was very convenient. I will definitely stay there again if I ever visited Nuwara Eliya again.

Pas de serviettes , ni de peignoirs dans notre chambre L'accueil froid à notre arrivée Pour cette gamme d'hôtel, la chambre n'était pas bien propre ( des cheveux dans la douche, des traces sur les toilettes , drap déchiré , traces de verre sur la table.... ) Au petit déjeuner : on nous presse pour payer et insistant sur l'heure de fin du petit déjeuner. Très décevant, par rapport au tarif et à la gamme de cet hôtel . La piscine qui est très petite et pas agréable ( les photos de l'annonce sont trompeuses) Très décevant

5 star rated hotel however room was not up to the standard. Breakfast spread could’ve been a lot better for a 5 star hotel. Leaks in toilets and yellow water coming out of tap when it is hot water.

Our concierge, Dinithi, greeted us warmly, and check-in was smooth. We were upgraded to an apartment, which was plenty of space for the two of us. The beds were very comfortable, and breakfast offered both Western and Sri Lankan options. There was a small supermarket and an ATM nearby, which was very convenient.

We had a wonderful stay at Araliya Green Hills Hotel. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and beautifully located. The staff were very welcoming, friendly, and attentive to our needs. A special thank you to Sheron, Sandaliyal, and Vishwa for their kindness, excellent service, and the lovely way they treated me and my children. Their hospitality made our stay truly memorable.

The central location of the hotel is just perfect. The room was quite spacious (thanks for the upgrade). The breakfast spread is quite nice including the Sri Lankan items and Indian items. The in room dining and adjoining food court don't have many vegetarian options which is disappointing. This should be improved. Loved almost everything else

The staff are super friendly and helpful, they are eager for guests to have a great stay and nothing is too much trouble. Really good value for money. The buffet was lovely, the breakfast was v good. We didn’t eat in the food court but that looked good too. A short walk to town or the lake so a great location.

The hotel is dated and very much of its era. The pool area could be lovely with a few tweaks. The sauna and steam room are on a pay per use but they are off when you arrive and will take ages to get to any kind of useful temperature especially the sauna.

Pool was over run but children and very noisy. Tried to swim twice but due to noise and number of children in pool at the time we chose not to as it was not very inviting

We had a lovely time. It is a wonderful property with great room.. and excellent food with special thanks to Mr. Yogesh, Mr. Phillip, and Mr. Vijay.

One of the highlights of our stay was being upgraded to a better room than the one we originally booked, which was a lovely surprise and greatly appreciated. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. The food was excellent throughout our stay, and the desserts were especially delicious. The F&B service was outstanding, with the staff always attentive and friendly. A special thank you to Shen, who was incredibly kind, friendly, active, and welcoming. He went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience. We would also like to thank Randika, Gimhani, Vijitha, and Kavindu for their helpfulness and excellent service. The staff truly made our stay memorable with their hospitality and care. Thank you to the entire team for a fantastic experience. We would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to visiting again.

It has good spacious rooms. The property has good view of the turf club. Mahesh and Vijay were very helpful.

Breakfast was not to the standards of a 5 star hotel. Pool bar is only for show. Pool staff were very unpleasant. Service may take time.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Dinithi was especially thoughtful and considerate of my elderly parents, which we greatly appreciated. She kindly arranged a complimentary upgrade and ensured that our rooms were next to each other. Her excellent service and attention to our family’s needs made our stay even more enjoyable.

They had only one wheelchair in the entire hotel and which was already given to other guest. Thankfully we had our own wheelchair and otherwise for parents with mobility issue it may be challenging.

Das Hotel ist sehr gross, modern und zentral gelegen. Beim Check- In wurden wir begrüsst, als wären wir VIP's :-) Das Personal war extrem freundlich, respektvoll und zuvorkommend. Kein Wunsch blieb unerfüllt. Wir haben sogar ein Upgrade von einem "normalen" Zimmer zu einer Suite erhalten ohne Aufpreis. Die Leistung war daher höher als den Preis, den wir dafür bezahlt haben! Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gross mit noch einer grösseren Auswahl. Wir hatten rundum einen perfekten Aufenthalt. Danke!

All. Staff was good. Hotel is like a white elephant. No beauty. Hugh wastage of the space. No devices or interior design. High bulky furniture in the rooms. Over all it’s good for low maintain. Not a classy hotel to stay. Its view has destroyed the entire beauty of the mountains.

L’emplacement de l’hôtel est parfait. L’équipe a été très accueillante et sympathique. Le food court ainsi que les services disponibles dans l’hôtel, comme le supermarché et l’ATM, ont été très utiles. Le responsable du restaurant, M. Sandun, est une personne très professionnelle. Il prend parfaitement soin des clients et reste attentif à leurs besoins. De plus, l’équipe de l’accueil, Sandachaya, Sandaliya, Vijay, Philip et Kaushalla, fait vraiment de son mieux pour garder les clients satisfaits.

Le room service était très amateur et aurait besoin d’une formation afin d’améliorer le comportement du personnel ainsi que la qualité du service. Le spa et la piscine n’étaient pas vraiment à la hauteur de nos attentes.

The size of the rooms are good. The gym also has good equipment.

The hotel does not meet up to the standard of a 5 star hotel. It is very old and has not been maintained. The hotel is not clean, the floors and carpets are dirty and the passage has an bad smell. Breakfast is ok nothing to shout out about. It would pass as a 3 star hotel. Definitely not worth the price paid.

To be honest, the best thing is the location , it’s in the city and provides easy access to the main places.

To be honest, I made a special request for a room with a view of the golf club side, which was confirmed by the property. Unfortunately, I was given a room on the opposite side, and it had an unpleasant food smell possibly because it was located above the kitchen. The room itself was very spacious, which was a positive, but I couldn’t open the window due to the smell. Breakfast was very disappointing, with poor service overall. Tables were not cleared properly, and the food quality was not good. It seemed like there was no proper plan in place to manage breakfast, especially as the hotel was fully booked. I also used the spa facilities, but there were no washrooms inside the spa. I was directed to a shared restroom, which lacked soap, privacy, and basic cleanliness. The shower area was open and shared with other facilities like the pool, which was quite uncomfortable. However, I did not raise any complaints at the time as I was only staying for one night

The hospitality was excellent, and we were truly impressed by the support provided by the staff. We look forward to returning soon
