Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The Residence Inn by Marriott in Flagstaff, Arizona is a very nice hotel. Our room and the common areas were very clean. The Manager, Front Office Staff, Housekeeping and Maintenance Staff are very nice and professional always willing to help. The location of the hotel is within walking distance of shops and restaurants and a park is across the street. We had a very nice and pleasant stay and will come again.
Location was perfect. Walking distance to many shops, restaurants and a park. We had the queen suite. The room was laid out very nicely, clean. We were on the 4th floor with two large picture windows that let in beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We will be back.
Parking is a little high. We are paying a healthy (but reasonable considering the area) price for the room. That was the only draw back.
Beautifull! Clean, helpfull!!!
Nothing
The room was clean and spacious. The beds were so comfortable.
Best and most comfortable place to stay in Flagstaff.
Been staying at marriott for years and am Gold member. I had the worst experience ever and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone as the frontdesk night staff are shady scammers. I had booking through marriott application as always and is paid and confirmed Jul 30-31 I arrived at the hotel just before midnight around 11:30 PM on July 30 and the external door was locked so I called front desk the guy named Chanton or something like that he opened and he was kinda rude the way he treated me. I didn’t mind and respectfully gave him my ID and my Marriott credit card and he said I checked out at first!! Then I told him that is not true I just arrived to the city and have the the confirmation here still in my marriott application and after showing him he said we sold your room and we do not have it anymore then I explained that this is not my issue I didn’t cancel and I didn’t check out and the room is still there valid and active in my account and he was extremely rude and aggressive without any reason I was so respectful I asked him to call a manager or provide me with another room without me paying again because I already paid for my room and it’s not my issue that you sold my room. He said we do not have manager and I cannot help you. So I left and I called the marriott support which I had to go to another marriott and pay again, the marriott support promised me of refund but I didn’t get it yet. They made an internal case and I hope they do something about that guy and refund my money. Now it’s July 31 Morning and I still have that booking available and confirmed and I’m attaching a screenshot as evidence. Thank you Marriott for everything but this was the worst marriott experience i went through ever.
In town
I have nothing bad to say
Friendly and accommodating staff
Very clean, great staff, fantastic well appointed rooms for this level of hotel
Super Lage, sehr gutes Frühstück. Gym. Parken okay. Großes helles Zimmer.
Parken könnte günstiger sein.
We stayed four nights at this hotel to escape the extreme heat dome affecting the Phoenix area. Hotel is well located in downtown Flagstaff. Our original assigned room was directly above the swimming pool which resulted in a chlorine infused smell inside the room. Front desk promptly re-assigned another room on an upper floor. Room was clean and modern. Interior design was typical Res Inn. Breakfast was more upscale than I expected . Parking next to hotel was hit and miss, but there was always space in the designated Res Inn parking lot across street. There was a pub/restaurant next to the hotel parking but we heard no evening noise. There are many pub/restaurants close to hotel and walkable.
Excellent hotel in a great location with an easy walk to the restaurants and shops. Parking available in the lot across the street which is super convenient. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was huge with a full kitchen and everything very modern. The beds were comfortable and a modern bathroom (although water pressure a little weak). Breakfast in the morning was extensive with eggs, sausages, waffles and continental breakfast options. I wish we could have stayed longer than one night.
Right next to the park and a great breakfast
Fee for WiFi and parking. I expect a parking fee but not a WiFi fee.
Schöne zentral gelegene Unterkunft, leckeres Frühstück mit Porzellangeschirr. Sehr freundliches Personal!

we liked the location to Amtrak station, it was in walking distance and the restaurants were in walking distance. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. no complaints here.
no complaints. very thing was perfect.
Clean, close to town.
Location
No dinner food service
This is a solid hotel, but showing its age a bit. Rooms are large, comfortable and well-laid out. Good little kitchen and two work places. Nice glass walk-in shower. All in all quite comfortable. Breakfast was mediocre at best and are room seemed to be miles from the elevator. It is however, right downtown Flagstaff with great restaurants, bars and shops at your doorstep.
I liked how the staff was nice to everyone that walked into the location. After we checked in they asked if we needed anything or had any questions. The breakfast was 10/10 food was fresh and the kitchen staff was a big help. When I need to stay in flagstaff this is the location I will only need staying at.
The dark parking lot.
Great sized room and the daily breakfast was very good. The staff were pleasant greeting us at all times and were very helpful.

Location is great, breakfast variety, free water bottles, the room worked well for us, parking was convenient, pool and hot tub, small store for food/snacks, eucalyptus lavender 39 degrees shampoo/conditioner/body wash/lotion
The staff is fantastic here! Plenty of parking, even for our huge 4x4 truck.
Exceptional service, great breakfast, very clean and attentive. Would stay again as before.
Pricing was a little high but understood due to the weekend.
Rooms and location were great
Friendly staff
This was the most rundown room I have ever paid nearly $400 for. The photos of the hotel are like a bait and switch. I wasn’t expecting anything fancy - we just needed a place to stay before our flight in the morning, but I was surprised by how rundown it was. Dings, gashes, missing paint on every surface, flimsy blankets on the beds, dirt on the walls and ceiling around the air vents, no grout between the tiles in the shower, faucet coming loose from the sink, incredibly harsh lighting. Dig and dust in corners. I wouldn’t blame the housekeeping staff - I’m sure they do the best they can - the place is just falling apart! Beyond the room, there were places on the ceiling where large sections of paint were peeling off the ceiling (looks like it was leaking). The pool was freezing cold, and upon check-in the make you check a box that says you acknowledge you’re in the entertainment district and it may be noisy at night (something that seems important to flag BEFORE a guest makes a reservation.
Location and breakfast
Very cleaner and comfortable rooms. Great breakfast!! Jacuzzi to relax!!
The pool was cold!! Should be better and comfortable warm pool!!
Pool area was nice and clean. Breakfast was great with plenty of options to choose from. Beds were very comfortable.
Room was on the higher side of pricing, but it had everything we wanted/needed for our week long stay. The housekeepers were very nice, but barely spoke English. They couldn’t understand me. I spoke with the front desk about needing housekeeping and items restocked, but never received them. Therefore, we went without some things most of our stay. Location was convenient, due to being near restaurants and stores. But roads were crowded because of narrow, one-way roads.
Brand new renovations… felt clean and the kitchen was exceptional, conveniently stocked and loved the full sized refrigerator.
Had a suite of other 2 queen beds and couch bed but no division or privacy between the couch bed and 2 queens.. would have preferred some division between the 2 spaces. Also, the floors and walks were not sound proof.
No room service dining
Overbooked
Clean room, friendly staff, excellent location and delicious breakfast.
Wish they had more security in the parking lot. There was a young man who kept hanging out by random vehicles and he took off twice when car alarms were reset. I would have slept better if there was either a camera, gate or guard.
Breakfast was delicious!
nothing - Staff was exceptional!
Upon checkin, we were told that cookies were available 24×7. We didn't have a single cookie as they were all out and were never replenished even after inquiring about them at the reception desk. Don't make statements that you can't keep.
This is hands down the nicest Residence Inn I have ever stayed at. The entire property feels freshly remodeled and has a bright, modern look that immediately stands out. Its location in downtown Flagstaff is incredibly convenient. Parking is right across the street with quick access to the lobby, and you can walk to almost any spot in the downtown area within five to ten minutes. One of the best perks is Dark Sky Brewery sitting right outside the back entrance. After a full day of sightseeing around the Grand Canyon, it was the perfect place to relax, enjoy a drink, and take in the local atmosphere. The hotel staff were friendly, welcoming, and very efficient. We were checked in and on our way to our room in under five minutes. The room itself was impressive. It was newly remodeled, very spacious, and felt more like a comfortable apartment than a standard hotel room. We had two beautiful views to the north and east, made even more stunning by the fresh snowfall. Breakfast the next morning was excellent. The spread was generous and offered everything from Continental items to waffles, eggs, and several hot dishes. There was something for everyone, and the breakfast staff were attentive and genuinely pleasant. The Residence Inn in downtown Flagstaff is now my go to hotel for Northern Arizona. I will gladly go out of my way to stay here again. It is simply fantastic.
The hotel is in the center of downtown Flagstaff which was great as you had an array of restaurants and shops to choose from. The fitness room is well-equipped, the breakfast was delicious, and there was stellar service. Parking is right across the street or right behind the property. There's a grocery store about 15min away from the hotel. The only complaint is that we could hear the people above us each time they walked and it woke me up one evening.
This is a mega-hotel right in the middle of town. I expected not to like it. But I DID like it. It's quite modern. Food is acceptable. But many restaurants only a two minute walk away. You're on a busy city street, but noise insulation was plenty adequate. If I go back to Flagstaff I'll stay here again.
Super friendly front desk person. Professional and do beautifully poised.
My second year spending most of July at this hotel. The staff is incredible here. They really want your stay to be as comfortable as possible. From the maintenance team to the front desk, everyone I have encountered has exuded the Marriott way. I stayed in a king suite with full kitchen. It is so nice to have the ability to cook some meals rather than eating out every night. The location is right out the front door to the park and its events like the farmers market and art in the park. Hot breakfast every morning. Cookies in the afternoon. Great place to stay.
Frühstück
I did not like how the AC did not work, being that it was colder outside. I understand the pipes freezing, but there are workarounds for that, especially Marriott being who they are. You can winterize and insulate the pipes to where the pipes won't freeze. The room wasn't totally comfortable due to the temperature not being cold. Other than that, the room was very clean and nice.
Honestly this was kinda scary. The parking lot is literally across the street and there’s no one around—no staff, no security, nothing. My daughter and I were unloading our bags at night and a few drunk people were wandering through. Super uncomfortable. I didn’t feel safe at all and probably wouldn’t stay here again unless they fix that.
Uns dos melhores hotéis que já estive. Muito limpo, confortável e quarto amplo. O café da manhã estava uma delícia!
O estacionamento é aberto, mas nada que atrapalhe.
We loved our stay at the Residence Inn Flagstaff. We came to visit family. The location was perfect. Easy walk to the beautiful historic downtown area shops and restaurants. Parking was great. The front desk staff were always very welcoming and attentive to our needs. Check In was quick and easy. The rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable. Our favorite was the breakfast and the staff. Food was good and fresh - different every day. Fresh cookies in the afternoon with different fruit flavored water!! This was our first stay, and it will not be our last!!! Thank you everyone there was a fantastic vacation.
Unclean room, broken fixtures, and a stressful stay—nothing matched expectations. Very disappointing. Will never stay again.
Weekend stay was frustrating—room wasn’t ready at check-in, air felt stuffy, television didn't work and nothing went smoothly at all.
I can’t say enough great things about this hotel. The location was within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and a park across the street to walk our dog. Fabulous continental breakfast. Our room was spotless, the beds comfortable, and we slept like babies. I also have to mention that all the staff were wonderful. Will definitely stay here again.
Beautiful hotel with great location.
Big swimming pool was freezing cold.
Expensive, service subpar, and the check-in process was the most difficult I’ve ever experienced. Stay away, planned on staying two nights, and moved to the new Hilton property. We are extremely happy we did.
Check in experience from HELL. Lacked service, attention to detail, long wait time after a long drive and nothing like what I expected.
A favorite hotel of ours. This was our 4th stay. Well maintained. Very friendly staff. The concierge went beyond any Marriott brand hotel recognizing me as a Lifetime Titanium by writing a personalized greeting and leaving some treats from a local bakery.
I had an absolutely terrible experience. The lobby was packed with frustrated guests, and I had to visit the front desk five different times. Each time, the agent didn’t even remember my name. After a few hours of my issue not being resolved, I finally received my room — and neither the front desk agent nor the manager offered any compensation or even a simple apology. The room itself was dirty, which was completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, while in the bathroom I overheard the manager instructing staff to remove my email so I wouldn’t be able to leave a review. That kind of behavior is both dishonest and deeply disappointing. I’ve reached out to Marriott several times and truly hope they address this situation—no guest should ever be treated this way, and no manager should be allowed to avoid accountability for such poor leadership.
I got a notification on my phone that my card had been charged while I was still at the hotel. When I went to the front desk, they told me my card was used on another guest’s reservation. The agent just said “sorry” and didn’t seem to care. No call from a manager, no explanation, nothing. This kind of oversight is dangerous. Could they have released my room info to that person — or even worse, given them access to my keys? As a woman traveling alone, that thought is terrifying.
We stayed here twice within the same week — once a few days ago and again last night. Our first visit was wonderful. The moment we walked in, we were greeted right away. My elderly mother mentioned to Jose that she likes skim milk with her tea, and not even an hour later there was a small pitcher of it waiting in our room. He also shared great restaurant recommendations and gave us some tips for our national park loop. You could tell he really cared about what he does. That’s why last night was such a letdown. It felt like a completely different hotel. The front desk staff was busy chatting and didn’t acknowledge us when we walked in. We weren’t greeted until we were already standing at the counter, and even then, the agent kept their head down until I spoke first. It was just such a contrast from the warmth and attentiveness we experienced before. We were genuinely excited to come back, and it was disappointing to see that change in energy.
From check in to check out, our whole experience was fantastic! The staff were incredibly friendly-the breakfast had many great choices, comfy beds and excellent location! We definitely will return!-The only thing that could be better was the coffee;) -luckily we were walking distance to several coffee stops:)
The staff was above and beyond. Friendly, attentive, intentional. The continental breakfast was legit. A different breakfast every day, not the same old thing every morning like other places. The woman at the front desk had a rubber ducky drawer for my son to choose from. The man at the front desk gave some good recommendations for the Grand Canyon.
Our stay was wonderful. Great staff from check-in to check-out. Highly recommend staying at Residence Inn Flagstaff. They offer a nice breakfast too.
I cannot say enough good things about my experience at the residence Inn in Flagstaff. I am a Marriott Bonvoy elite member and can honestly say this hotel went out of their way to make us feel appreciated and our stay the most comfortable that it could be. I love the location, it is convenient to everything. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with any question that we had. Would highly recommend staying here and will do so myself again if I am ever in the area.
We have stayed here numerous times and this time did not disappoint. Very nice and clean rooms and the breakfast is always great! It is also so nice that it is within walking distance of all the fun things to do in Flagstaff downtown.
Everything was wonderful the location, the room, the breakfast and most of all the staff was incredible from front of the house to back up the house. It was awesome.
Great staff and location! Very friendly and helpful staff. Location near so many restaurants, bars and stores in downtown Flagstaff. Our room was very spacious and clean. Loved the hotel!
I booked this Residence Inn after reading so many excellent reviews, but my experience was the complete opposite. From the moment I walked in, it felt like total chaos. The lobby was a mess, the staff looked completely overwhelmed, and there didn’t seem to be any real management or support. There were lines just to check in, and it took me nearly 20 minutes before I could get into my room. I noticed staff on their cell phones instead of helping guests, and the poor kid at the front desk looked absolutely exhausted — clearly trying his best but with no backup. What really concerned me was how they were handling room keys — being pulled out of a folder and handed out one by one. That’s a huge security risk and honestly unacceptable for a Marriott property.
Outstanding breakfast lady (attendant). Best location for late arriving Amtrak trains. Welcoming front desk staff.
Great location, friendly front desk staff, and the amazing gentleman who went out of his way at checkin to facilitate getting our room ready. Thank you
Maybe the nicest Residence Inn we have stayed at. The staff was very helpful and nice, the breakfast was fresh and had multiple staff serving, the room was clean and the location is perfect.
Great helpful staff- very impressed
Really like the hotel; somewhat new, staff friendly, location great, breakfast excellent, room clean; everything one would ask for and better than most Residence Inn's i have stayed in as a 2500 night Marriott guy
very nice front desk staff. Friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and spacious. Hotle located in an excellent geographic location for exploring the downtown.
Overall our staff was good! The breakfast was great and the staff at breakfast friendly. Only complaint I had was the tv did not work upon check in and we had to wait almost an hour to have someone try and fix it they could not get it to work so I asked if they could just put us in another room with a working tv.
My room was very large and well appointed. I liked the size of the bathroom as well. The daily breakfast was well supplied and very enjoyable. The staff were all very pleasant and polite. I look forward to my next visit.
This hotel has some of the best customer service I’ve experienced at a Marriott hotel. They went well above and beyond for my spouse and I. The ambassador gift was wonderful, and the rooms are clean, bright and spacious. I’ll be staying here for every trip to town!
The selection including the vegan chorizo
Having whole milk for coffee
Stayed at the Residence Inn and couldn’t have been happier! The location is perfect! What really stood out was the amazing customer service. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made our stay that much better. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Flagstaff!
Thought I had already done a survey, but here it is again. Great hotel, great location in the heart of downtown Flagstaff. Front Desk staff was great. Our room was so nice, spacious and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
