Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The room was tiny and lacked basic facilities. Bunkhouse "kitchen" didn't even have a kettle. Couldn't cater for dietary requirements.
Staff were helpful and friendly
Nothing
Location is perfect. The staff is friendly and cooperative.
Some of the facilities are old but I think that adds to the antique vibe.
Cheap to stay, bunkhouse bed was comfortable
Communal showers were very small and uncomfortable to use, drains near your first were dirty and had bugs in them so not a pleasant bathing experience, but other than that was fine
Location very good, close to everything. Breakfast good & lots of choice. Price was cheap/fair given Location. Lots of seating areas.
Beds uncomfortable. TV not working, staff had to fix it. Room walls paper thin, people in the room next to us were chatting and we could hear their conversations!
A peaceful neighborhood away from loud traffic. A comfortable bedroom for relaxing. The staff were friendly, helpful throughout our stay. The food and breakfast was a 10 out of 10
There’s nothing I didn’t really dislike about the property
This hotel is in a central location, minutes away from the rail station. It has good communal spaces that include a lounge, a bar, a games room with pool table and a spa room with steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. This costs £5 per person for exclusive use. Steam room was out of order. I had a single room that had an ensuite toilet and shower as well as kettle with tea and coffee. The breakfast was decent.
The room was pretty basic. I had paid the same the night before for a better quality room. There was no plug by the bed to charge a phone. All in all, perfectly fine but nothing special.
Good food
Bed uncomfortable
Older but large and clean rooms. Had dinner one evening in the pub, large portions of delicious comfort food. Full and filling Welsh breakfast with friendly staff.
Not for those looking for a modern hotel but very very nice.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our dog was welcomed. The location was excellent for the town.
The room was tight for us and our dog. The mirror on the wall was placed too high to see into for me ! The view from the window looked down on scrap land and rubbish. Inside the hotel was fine but could do with a tidy up outside.
The property was basic but very pleasant the staff were lovely and would recommend it to everyone.
There wasn’t a lot of parking space but we managed to to find somewhere outside, it was a very busy time with the ultra marathon being run
Great location in Snowdonia! On-site parking and very friendly staff.
No issues
The location was great. It’s near the shops and the train station. The rooms are located upstairs which might give you a hard time going up if you just came back from your long exhausting hike. Overall, I highly recommend this place. Good value for money if you’re a group of 5-6.
Nothing
Everything from the minute we walked in it was poor
Great location
Bathroom could have been better looked after pillows were hard and mattress was hard too
Close to the centre of town- great walking distance to everything you need !
The location is the main reason we booked this property, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. It’s right in the heart of Betws-y-Coed, within walking distance of the main attractions, making it easy to explore the town on foot. One of the biggest advantages is the free parking. However, spaces fill up quickly as the parking isn’t dedicated or allocated to individual rooms. The bar has a lively atmosphere, and the restaurant offers a good selection of food. If you’re looking for an affordable place to stay in a great location, this is a good option. We stayed in the bunk room, which is quite small and has very limited space for luggage. They do have larger bedrooms available, but these are more expensive.
The washroom was unclean and smelly. The shared kitchen had a microwave but was extremely dirty and had food particles inside it.
What a fantastic place to stay! The location was perfect, the staff are so friendly and the food was delicious. Thank you for making our trip so much more comfortable, enjoyable and memorable.
Ambience
We had a lovely stay, staff were very friendly
Dog friendly! (Extra 10 pounds for the dog though). The staff were really kind and friendly, clean and good location. Was great for our 2 nights stay, we were able to take the bus and climb the mountains around, including Snowdon.
No mini fridge at the room

Relaxed and chilled atmosphere. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent
All good
Good location, excellent staff, good food
Some rooms were tired. Broken window, damp smell. Not applicable to all. Small car park.
Very central location, great onsite parking, friendly staff.
Small room, bunk bed uncomfortable.
The location is great and parking on site is helpful. The staff are friendly and breakfast was nice.
The beds in the rooms were uncomfortable. The breakfast doesn’t get served until 8am? we were going hiking early so this was a big negative. The jacuzzi/sauna has an additional cost. Overall I felt like the hotel was priced too high.
Very nice stay. Staff were very helpful when we arrived late in the evening. Rooms were comfortable and good value. Breakfast was good.
I lived in the suit
Sauna was not working
Great location, good evening dinner.
Flies in the showers. Showers right next to urinals. Breakfast was below average.
There's everything you need for a decent night sleep after a long hike. Great location if you're doing 3 peaks challenge. Highly recommend booking the hot tub only a fiver per person. Great for sore muscles. Parking is easy round the back.
Hot tub wasn't as clean as it could be. Rooms are very tight. The staff didn't have the correct details for the booking. I called previously to say we have 6 people for dinner & hot tub. They'd only put down 2. Only 2 meal options left too beef and turkey so didn't get to pick as that's all that was left.
Perfect location with free off road parking.
My bed was qujte uncomfortable as it was a spring mattreaas which dug into me during tge night.
Great place food dogs great food and staff we’re so easy to chat to
Just room just needed a clean as we found dirty socks in our bed
Good location
Could do with alittle updating but it was fine as a base
The breakfast was excellent made even better by having Plum tomatoes along side the usual breakfast selections
Better cooling in and around the hotel as stay was experienced during the current heatwave
A lovey hotel in the heart of Betsw y coed. Great location
It’s all a bit sticky. Sticky tables, sticky doors but the location is fantastic Dusty and dirty bathrooms.
Location is excellent. The staff were brilliant and friendly. The icing on the cake was the singer. Oh and despite being up earlier than breakfast starts, they prepared a lovely packed take-away breakfast for me. Would 100% stay here again. Thankyou!
Ideal location and good for a night stay.
Nothing maybe dated.
The bunkhouse is spot on and good value for money.
Perfect location, very central. Parking availability is a huge plus point
Sadly steam room out of order and no reduction for cost of using the spa
Chambre et petit déjeuner
Accueil aimable mais sans plus
Location staff.
Bed was not comfortable.
Excellent location
This was our second stay gutted! I like dogs but not being smothered in dog hairs as there was alot in our room and on bedding. Staff were happier and more attentive last year. Bathroom smelt bad of damp, funky smell from shower plug and mould on shower curtain. Booked jacuzzi for after our hike, put jets on stood on loose screw in jacuzzi base which has bruised sole. Also the smaller jets was blowing through really cold then really hot water which stung so wasnt relaxing. Told member of staff didnt seem fussed. Avoid jacuzzi until it gets sorted. Bunk beds needs to be tightened as everytime son moved it made a noise like it was going to give way which disrupted our sleep.
The location is accessible
It is not really clean especially toilet. Toilet also only one for women.
staff were wonderful, great central location, parking on site, kept a good cellar
It was generally quite tired in appearance, room was dated and the room and en suite needed a really deep clean.
Great location
Bathroom was getting a bit old, and breakfast was average but plenty of it
Tres proche de la gare. Très bon petit déjeuner. Personnel serviable. Magnifique village.
Literie inconfortable
Perfectly located for amazing bars, food and scenery - never mind the beach over the road! The top floor room we had (number 7) was excellent. We opened the room door and the air conditioning was a big relief given the July heat.
Nothing so far.
I liked the hotels rooms which were clean bed very comfortable the staff we great and very very helpful and nice I loved the hotel as it was old worldly and not modern like most hotels today
Nothing at all
Lovely place centrally located in the village and a short walk from beautiful nature
The price we were charged was extremely expensive for what we got. The hotel definitely did not reflect the cost.
The location
Staff where rude and unhelpful
Location
No windows and breakfast had good options but the bacon sausage and beans did not taste of anything an no fried bread 😊
Very poor staff attitudes towards paying guests. Bunk house rooms were stifling hot! Appreciate it has been very hot recently but when went to reception to ask if there was a way to open the skylight as the stings were broken we were told no we dont have a ladder. Food was very over priced £12 for a Chicago town pizza 😮 Cleanliness off tables was poor, was even told by a member of staff to clean up from put dinner we had purchased from the hotel.
Location is great for all Snowdonia activities
It needs a refresh
All round lovely place
Location, location, location. Beautiful town and lovely setting. Quaint old building with interesting quirky stairways and corridors.
This was a great stay. Bedroom was lovely. We were only on the first floor bit of was really quiet. Bed comfy. Shower over bath was great, although hot water took a long time to come through, but no drama. Breakfast was good, and catered for GF options. It exceeded my expectations. Lovely bar, great staff, good options of drinks, and great menu for evening meal.
I am being really picky by saying the bread at breakfast wasn't great. A good bread with the breakfast/sandwich makes a big difference. This is so I can say though - overall absolutely spot on 🙏
The room / suite was large, overlooking the main road. The bed was large and comfortable. The Spa was clean and functional. The breakfast was excellent with good range of options plus menus selections. Service was quick and efficient.
Access to the room was via keyless combination code but awkward to navigate on first use, due to poor lighting. Shower was awkward to use with multiple levers to set flow and temp, that had unclear markings. Shower door clashes with toilet pan so slight risk of glass door breakage if not careful.
Very friendly people
Road noise started quite early
The breakfast was stunning, the staff were lovely, it was super clean and comfy location was amazing 😃
The WiFi was shocking I had to go to then back of the house at the back of the garden and walk down the road to get a signal near the coffee shop on the top road.
Breakfast - Room - Property location
The location, room size, garden facilities, bar, dining room, cleanliness was very good.
Rooms are tired and hot
Location Free parking on site Friendly staff
The shower head in our bathroom didn't fit the holder so every time someone had a shower it flew everywhere and soaked the bathroom. The bathmat was drenched from mopping it up, I assumed therefore we would get a clean dry one the next day when the room was serviced. No we came back to the same drenched one. We did report the problem on check out. We did have intermittent problems of no cold water followed by no electricity. We did ring reception and someone came up straight away to sort. So although a fault they did sort it and quickly too.
Great location.
Sadly housekeeping was not to a high standard. Everything was 'sticky'. Doors sticky to the touch, tables sticky and generally the decor looked tired. A half full glass of coke was left on the carpet, first floor, for two days. It's always difficult to be critical of staff because they walk long hours for poor pay! Accountability is with the owners!
I liked the room, ot was comfortable, clean and bed well made. Also, near to some wonderful scenery for climbing,, walking and scrambling.
I'm not sure if I liked the fact that there was limited parking at the property and the fact that everything was off the menu except for steak and ale pie. They provided a good breakfast for the next day ahead. Slightly rushed as well as stressed staff and customers.
The hotel is dog friendly ..the hot tub room is excellent...once turned on which we had to ask for..
The first room had no proper window...there were 2 opening small windows that you could not reach...the cooked breakfast is very poor...with tinned tomatoes and awful sausages ...too many notices around the hotel...even one telling you how to put your dog in the lift..
Quick stopover, stayed in the Bunkhouse. Well worth it. We are already booking again.
Nothing
We were duped, the photo of the room was a double bedroom, the actual booking was a dormitory, which we saw after paying. As 60 year olds, we we weren't up for that. The advisor misinformed us by cancelling it and neglecting to tell us we still had to pay, and could not get even a credit for another room. We said, have we actually lost our money, he said yes, have a nice day. We've used this website loads, very disappointed and can't trust them again after falsly advertising a room.
