Family room with sunporch was very comfortable, breakfasts sublime, cozy sitting room and cake available in the evenings. Location was the best - views of nearby table mountain and quiet neighborhood. Memory, our concierge, was a ray of sunshine each day and gave such good sightseeing advice. The room was located underneath the staircase, close to the outside doors - it was cold and we could hear every footstep. Small bed for two people. If it weren't for the room, I would give it a 10/10.

A reclamação eh quanto ao local de banho . Eh transparente . Para um casal nao tem o mínimo problema. Mas se nao for em casal um tem q sair do quarto pro outro tomar banho . Super freundliches und sehr bemühtes Personal, wurden sogar mit einem Geburtstagskuchen überrascht! Sie bieten auch tolle Touren an. Gute, ruhige, sichere Lage in Gardens, nur wenige Meter von der Kloof Street und einigen Restaurants entfernt.

Die Zimmer befinden sich in einem alten und auch wunderschönem Haus, dementsprechend sind aber einige Einrichtungen schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

Beautiful , large rooms. Wonderful sitting room for guests with an honesty bar - for coffee, cake during the day and wine pre dinner etc. Great location. Easy parking. quick walk to a huge range of restaurants for evening meals.

Das gesamte Personal ist sehr herzlich und kümmert sich sehr um die Gäste. Auch Sonderwünsche wurden direkt erfüllt. Die Aufenthaltsräume sind sehr gepflegt, geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Im Zimmer fehlte ein großer Kleiderschrank, in dem man Kleider aufhängen kann. Die Beleuchtung war nicht so optimal und es fehlte z.B. ein Vergrößerungsspiegel im Bad. Die Betten sind ziemlich hart.

Super freundliches Personal, das dir jeden Wunsch von den Augen abliest. Leckeres Frühstück, netter kleiner Innenhof. Jeden Mittag steht ein frischer Kuchen auf dem Buffett.

Es gibt nichts zu beanstanden.

The breakfast was a real treat! The staff greeted us every morning with a warm welcome. They served eggs, bacon, mixed fruits, pastries, fresh squeezed orange juice, French pressed coffee and always with a beautiful smile from each of the servers. The build is stunning with antiques, stainglass, and an assortment of fine art. I would absolutely recommend the Welgelegen House and I will definitely stay here next time I’m in Cape Town.

There was nothing not to like. Very quite location, close to restaurants and Table Mountain. The guest house staff welcoming and attentive. The accommodation clean and very comfortable and the breakfast choice and quality, excellent.

Great, safe, location in a quiet suburb next to Kloof street. Big room, clean and comfortable. The staff were second to none. Memory, Prince and all the staff in the kitchen made our stay perfect. Like a home away from home. Could do enough for us and really went above and beyond. Do not hesitate to book yourself here, we will definitely be back!

This is a truly fabulous guesthouse. It's in a wonderful location with plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Our room was really comfortable and had great views of Table Mountain. All the staff were incredibly friendly and a special shout out goes to Memory for her helpful suggestions of places to visit and her kindness throughout our stay. Breakfasts were very good with a lovely buffet and a wide choice of cooked food. If visiting we'd also thoroughly recommend a visit to the township which Memory organised for us.

Very friendly and helpful hosts and staff. Super quiet yet central location. The furnishings and decor are very tasteful. The breakfast is excellent and prepared with great care. Services such as laundry are fast and of impeccable quality.

We were delighted with the warm welcome we received from Prince and all the team at Welgelegen House. We only stayed 2 nights but it felt like home. Everyone was so helpful and we received excellent suggestions re restaurants and activities. We will definitely book again when we are next in Cape Town.

The staff was excellent, friendly and very helpful with advice on restaurants , must see places. I had an accident when doing a hike and called them to get a taxi to pick me up and to get an immediate doctor’s appointment. They, Prince and Memory, took care of everything. I was able to get surgery the following day and with that I was able to continue my vacations.

the location is good.

We were not happy. about room no 1: no warm water for the shower, even if you leave it 10 min running, And the flush of the toilet is also not able to flush something properly down, not even after 5 timesy trying.

We had a lovely 3 days at Welgelegen house which is perfectly situated below Table Mountain in a pretty quiet residential area . A small, intimate hotel with a very personal vibe . Lovely decor throughout the hotel . Our room was spacious and comfy with a big outdoor balcony . Delicious breakfast . Wonderful staff with a special mention to Memory, Superman and Rita who all looked after us do well .We also had a tour for a day and our driver, tour guide Buja was the kindest , coolest and most knowledgeable guide ever . All in all a fantastic “small” hotel a few steps from Kloof street for restaurants and bars .Highly recommended and we would definitely come back next time !!

Stylischer Frühstücksraum, modern und Historie mit Gefühl kombiniert. Mein Favorit: leckeres, selbstgemachtes Müsli…der Obstsalat dazu unübertroffen. Perfekter Service, immer mit einem Lächeln. Man kann sich nur wohlfühlen!

This was a beautiful period property located just off of Kloof Street. We were located on the ground floor just next to the main entrance. The room was spacious, clean and tidy. Even with the wooden floors and position next to the main entrance noise was not an issue. The location was in a cul-de-sac road so no noise issues and no safety issues. The staff were fantastically welcoming and we appreciated the added touches like the decanter of port in the room and afternoon cake.

Could do with a small menu at breakfast.

Breakfasts were a good start to the day; delicious and wholesome items provided. Perfect location being a short walk into upper Kloof Street with easy vehicle access into and out of CT CBD. Small number of guests accommodated at any given time which made it feel very homely and intimate a space where guests are given friendly efficient service.

On weekends distant noise could be heard from the restaurants along Kloof Street; a trade-off we were willing to accept given the convenient proximity to some amazing fine dining experiences and a bit of CT nightlife. Some guests were not thoughtful when re-entering the complex late at night; being heavy footed on the clunky wooden floors and heavy handed with doors and access gates that were fairly close to our rooms. Choose a room some distance from the rear access gate and you'll be absolutely fine!

Very attentive and helpful staff. We had a nice conversation with Memory and Prince, the welcome staff and managers of the property, as well as Thomson, the night manager. They were eager to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for South Africa, Cape Town and Welgelegen House.

Everything was excellent. The towels perhaps could haver been a tad softer. And the name is hard to pronounce!

Die Lage ist gut, Restaurants sind gut zu Fuß erreichbar, Interessantes Haus mit schöner Ausstattung. Frühstück reichhaltig. Angebote für private Touren oder Tips werden vom netten Team gegeben.

The quiet location at the base of Table Mountain and proximity to wonderful restaurants was fantastic. The staff was beyond hospitable - most notably Memory (concierge and day manager) and Sidney (night manager) - but all were so friendly and helpful. The inn is decorated so beautifully, the breakfasts were perfection and all was perfect.

Welgelegen House is situated in the charming Oranjezicht neighborhood, a peaceful escape with stunning views of Table Mountain and Lion’s Head. The location is perfect. We were warmly welcomed by the incredible staff. Special thanks to Thomnson and Prince who helped us to make our stay comfortable and memorable.

We loved our stay at Welgelegen House. The staff is very helpful and kind, from Memory to the kitchen staff. The house itself is well maintained and it has a great style. The location is also very good, overall is quiet and safe (at least compared to the rest of Cape Town).

Breakfast buffet can be refilled more often, but the food is great!

We were told Additional charges of $22.22 when we boarded the taxi. We had to come out of the car to pay. It could have been settled earlier.

Te hospitality was outstanding. Prince and Memory were lively hosts and we almost felt part of a family by the time we left. They were so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good - perhaps things, especially place settings and the coffee machine, could have done with being reset/serviced more often, but the food was good - in particular the hot food cooked to order.

From the moment we arrived we were told “welcome home” and every staff member was exceptional and couldn’t do enough to help. We were even upgraded to a larger room for two nights of our stay. The area was quiet and safe and we could easily get by car or uber to other parts of Cape Town. Amazing stay.

Perfect location, a close walk to Kloof street but tucked away so you did not hear all the noise / commotion. We only stayed one night which was too short. Breakfast was nice and the house is a beautifully renovated piece of history. For being a historic hotel, we were really surprised how quiet our room was. Memory (the host / manager) was amazing - funny, friendly and makes you want to come back. Give that girl a raise.
