Balinese onsen ryokan Hakone Airu

Private onsen was incredible, food blew us away - we were quite apprehensive about the food being a little adventurous for us but everything was delicious and menu varied from night to night. Great location for exploring Hakone. Thanks also to the friendly staff.

De werknemers waren heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ook de kamer was top. Mooi uitzicht en een klein bad (onsen) op het balkon. De kamer was traditioneel, maar van alle gemakken voorzien. Ik vond het avondeten ook een belevenis. Tenslotte vond ik het fijn dat er een kleine rookruimte op de begane grond was. Dit hotel is een absolute aanrader!

Abbiamo apprezzato tantissimo la vasca con acqua termale in camera e tutti i prodotti da bagno erano davvero ottimi. La cena e la colazione sono state buonissime. La disponibilità dello staff nell'accogliere il nostro gruppo di 11 amici è stato davvero molto apprezzato, abbiamo potuto cenare tutti insieme con il kimono datoci dall'hotel ed è stato tutto perfetto.

Loved the accommodation was very traditional in the bedding, decorations and food. Great experience wearing the Yukata to dinner. Dinner was a traditional Kaiseki meal which we were made to feel like Kings and Queens in a private dining area. Private onsen in our room on the deck overlooking the mountains was lovely.

Accessing international channels on tv was difficult. We brought a HDMI cord and connected our laptop that seemed to be the only way to do it. I personally found the traditional Kaiseki meal too big for me as well as the breakfasts and too much variety leaving a lot of wasted food. We asked if we could cancel the next nights dinner and breakfast and were advised we couldn't which was a shame.

Great Mountain View, especially at night. A fantastic ryokan experience. Loved that you had to were the provided traditional clothes. The way dinner was presented felt like a true feast. They took into account my husband doesn’t like to eat fish and we messaged them about this ahead of time. The different face cleaners and lotions were amazing and if they had been priced cheaper (£30 a bottle) I would have bought them. One night was enough of a traditional experience for us and we started to miss comforts of a bed and chairs! Coffee provided on the room and bottles of water. No Netflix on the tv, but WiFi available. Nearest convenience store is at the bottom of a very steed hill by the station. We only used the private onsen as my husband has tattoos. In the morning you can book western or Japanese breakfast.

We paid for a taxi up the hill (very recommended!) to the hotel and it was about £3.50. We asked the hotel to book a taxi for us back down to the station and this time it cost us £5. It would be good to have information about the buses to Lake Ashi, the buses were confusing.

Les repas n’étaient pas bon nous avons été très déçus en plus tout est servi très très rapidement donc on a mangé quasiment froid. Ce n’était pas savoureux. C’est le moins bon repas de tout le Japon. Beaucoup d’humidité dans les chambres. Bien que les chambres étaient prêtes avant 15h pas possible d’y aller avant. Le plan d’eau extérieur est mal entretenu et n’est pas beau. Les pijama étaient bof.

Purtroppo l'esperienza con la ristorazione è stata del tutto fallimentare: sia la colazione che la cena si sono rivelate di qualità bassissima, con cibi praticamente immangiabili. Io e la mia compagna siamo stati costretti a lasciare quasi tutto nei piatti e a rimanere a digiuno (nonostante siano stati carini ad accogliere la richiesta di non portare pietanze crude per la mia compagna). A questo si aggiunge un'organizzazione degli orari decisamente troppo rigida e penalizzante: cena tassativa alle 18:00 e colazione fissa alle 8:00 (o 7:30), senza la minima flessibilità. Comprendiamo le esigenze organizzative della struttura, ma chi sceglie un soggiorno del genere cerca relax. Un minimo di elasticità e attenzione in più verso gli ospiti – sia sugli orari che, soprattutto, sulla qualità del cibo – cambierebbe completamente l'esperienza.

Das Personal war wirklich sehr aufmerksam und freundlich und wir konnten alles gut erreichen, vom Hotel.

Die Kopfkissen waren leider etwas hart, aber das ist wahrscheinlich Geschmackssache.

The room was absolutely stunning and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had good service. The kaiseki dinner was absolutely amazing and we had so many courses. The breakfast was great and also came with several courses. Loved the yukatas and extensive toiletries which were included also, and the beds were very comfortable.

Located at the top of a very steep hill - wasn’t the worst however we had to take this into account when going to the convenience store, and we couldn’t really explore the local pubs/restaurants because of this. We were also informed that the smart TV was no longer working which was disappointing as we would have liked to enjoy some English speaking television in the beautiful sitting room area. Maybe a bit expensive for what it is.

Les heures des repas pas flexibles (18h le soir) Le repas est copieux avec 7 ou plats, mais il est expédié : les plats arrivent alors qu'on a à peine fini le précédent, pas le temps vraiment d'en profiter. Peu d'explications sur ce que vous avez dans l'assiette. Le confort de la chambre est moyen : il faisait chaud (pas d'isolation avec l'extérieur), la climatisation bruyante. C'est par ailleurs très cher : au final, sur les 5 hôtels visités lors de mon séjour, ça a été la seule déception.

Il personale è stato sempre gentilissimo. La cena e la colazione sono state fantastiche. La piscina di acqua bollente sul balcone era perfetta, immergersi anche nelle giornate di pioggia è fantastico, con una bellissima vista sulle montagne. Nel complesso è stata una esperienza indimenticabile!

Tout était incroyable que ce soit la chambre, le onsen privé, le personnel super attentionné et accueillant, la nourriture du soir était très copieuse et excellente (il y avait plein de plat poisson, viande, soupe, légumes…), le petit déjeuner était aussi très bon on avait choisi l’option japonaise c’était que du salé avec du poisson, des soupes du riz. Onsen privata un'esperienza sublime. Cena e colazione curatissime, abbondanti e in un'atmosfera discreta e accogliente. Staff super cortese, con un inglese sufficiente a farsi capire. Da ritornarci il prima possibile!

La posizione è un po' scomoda, in salita su una collinetta, ma con 7/800 yen (una sciocchezza) dalla stazione di Hakone 3 minuti e siete in albergo. A tornare alla stazione, in discesa, sono 10 minuti gradevolissimi che vi porteranno anche davanti ai negozi per fare qualche souvenir.

Freundliches Personal, sehr ursprünglich japanisch mit schlafen auf dem Boden und das Abendessen und Frühstücken waren ein absolutes Highlight! Wir hatten ein eigenes Onsen im Zimmer was uns als Familie die gewünschte Privatsphäre gab.

This was our second Ryokan experience in Japan, but with the twist of the "resort" experience to go with it. This place definitely had one of the best views/outlooks when we were in Japan. The private onsen on our balcony was awesome and we had great weather to use it. We didn't know what to expect from the hotel and area and we were very happy to explore the area and go up to the sculpture museum which was one of the highlights of our 3 week trip to Japan. Food was good and nice cheap drinks during happy hour.

Some people will be confused by the blend of indonesian resort and staff with Japanese. We didn't mind. The doors and lighting in our room was probably the main concern. The sliding doors were very stiff and a pain to use at night when going to the bathroom. There was also a light outside the bedroom that came on and off when going to the bathroom and that combined with the stiff sliding door was annoying. The toilet was weirdly dark and I think the bidet wasn't working properly.

It was an incredible experience. From the moment you arrive, the staff treat you very well. The room is very spacious, and having the onsen right inside the room was something spectacular. The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were very good, but especially the way the food is served. The experience of sleeping on a futon and wearing a yukata is also totally worth it.

Location was beyond stunning. Facilities and decor were just beautiful. An extremely well designed hotel that gave a relaxed feel which matched the outdoor surroundings.

The staff were not welcoming, helpful or accommodating. They dd not reply to queries or messages via booking.com and came across as abrupt/rude. Also the futons have mould on them and this could be smelled in the room.

While it is only ten minutes away from the train station, be sure to take a taxi or a bus, because the road includes a very steep hill

Rummet var stort och de bäddade upp fint. Terrassen badrummet också helt okej.

Man kände sig övervakad, ingen information vid incheckningen. Vi kom dit 13. 00 incheckningar 15. 00 och de satt och spara i soffan med vatten och tvättlapp och sen inget mer. Vid utcheckning så frågade vi om närmaste apotek. Svaret från personalen var jag är ny jag vet ingenting. Och så kan det vara men då kollar man med personalen som är erfaren och det gjorde han inte. Utan det är bara så här vi vet inte. Middagen och maten var inte alls något speciellt bra. Det var torrt ingen smak så vi avbokade middagen andra kvällen och gick ut och åt istället.

Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal, der öffentliche Onsenbereich sowie der private Onsen waren sehr schön, ein tolles, traditionelles Zimmer mit allen Japan typischen Annehmlichkeiten wie dem eigenen Yukatan und Pyjama. Wir haben sehr gut geschlafen und sehr besonders war das mehrgängige Abendessen sowie das japanische Frühstück. Ein einmaliges Erlebnis!

Het vegetarisch eten was aan de flauwe kant. Waren ze ook echt niet gewoon...

Soggiorno semplicemente perfetto! La struttura unisce meravigliosamente l'atmosfera calda di stile balinese con la classica ospitalità e tradizione giapponese. L'onsen privato in camera è favoloso, ideale per un relax totale. Il personale è stato di una gentilezza e un'attenzione straordinarie, e la cena e la colazione erano eccezionali, curatissime nei minimi dettagli.

Lovely private onsen room. Staff were very professional and friendly. Food was excellent, I liked most things on the menu. A lot of fish which we were open to trying but probably couldn’t have done much longer with the type of food as we’re not used of it (2 nights was enough).

The entire experience, from the moment we checked in to when we checked out was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and the facility itself was excellent. We had breakfast and the kaiseki dinner service, and both were incredible.

部屋に温泉がついていてとても良かったし、温度も良かった。

スタッフ全員がカタコトな日本語なので聴き取りにくかったり、簡単な言い回しじゃないと伝わらないことがあった。 あと宿に忘れ物をしたのですが、電話で問い合わせ着払いで送ってもらいたいと伝えてメールも重ねて送ったが、なにも対応がない。 日本の四つ星ホテルを謳うのならば、そういうところの気遣いも忘れずにスタッフの意識も変えていってほしい。

Le personnel très accueillant et serviable. Le cadre et la décoration magnifique. La chambre était super, la baignoire d'eau chaude très agréable et reposant, avec la terrasse. Les futons très bien dormi. Le repas excellent et le petit déjeuner asiatique une vraie découverte ! Top.

The dinner and breakfast were excellent, the room had a beautiful view, and the private onsen was a wonderful feature. We also appreciated the overall hospitality.

The room needs some maintenance, and there was a slight humidity smell throughout the hotel.

Le logement était spacieux, la literie confortable, Une salle a manger privée, une belle vue, et de l'eau gratuite.

Contrairement a mon super séjours de l'année dernière qui était magique , cette année je suis très déçu, l'onsen était trop chaud (43°) je me suis brûlée, il on ensuite baisser la température qui est descendu et était le lendemain trop froide après que le bain se soit entièrement vidée, voulant profiter du bain le matin je n'ai pas pu jusqu au soir le temps qu'il le re remplisse... Le repas je ne l'ai pas bien digérer et il on envoyer les plats les un après les autres débarrassent des plats que nous n'avions même pas terminer...nous pressent pour passer à la suite. Le personnel manquait cruellement d'expérience, aucun geste commercial, il nous on offert un paquet de nouilles.. Un malentendu a eu lieux et le logement a cru que nous avions prit les chaussures d'autres personnes..

Extremely beautiful room with absolutely amazing views. The private bath is super relaxing and the skincare products were very good. The hotel was overall very nicely decorated and felt upmarket. The Japanese dinners were delicious, beautifully presented, and well cooked.

The lack of experience of the waitresses at the dining area (all of them very young) made for an unpleasant experience. At points, they even were unprofessional, laughing and joking between them, in front of the guests. That really, negatively impacted our overall experience. Additionally, while we were informed in advance that the staff was mostly non-Japanese (no problem with that), that should not excuse their lack of knowledge on the food they were serving (for example, they couldn't name the different fish in the sashimi, answer basic questions about a soup, or for example some didn't even know their own drinks menu).

Lovely setting. Peaceful well decorated room. Staff very friendly. Mindful of vegetarians. Excellent multi course meals.

Very minor things: trash had not been emptied from previous occupant, a few soiled marks on tatami at entrance. No cream for coffee in room.

What an experience! We enjoyed every moment and detail. The private onsens are lovely and the community one was amazing as well. Dinner was superb. We even got a same day massage with very little notice. 2 thumbs up!

The walk with luggage up to the location. Gps didn't work and the signage was not adequate. Get a taxi!

The facilities, dinner and service were exceptional and relaxing. Best dinner we had in Japan, compliments to the chef and thank you for adjusting to our pescetarian diet.

El sitio es muy bonito en plena naturaleza y muy relajante, la habitación auténtica, te sientes local totalmente, el personal muy servicial y atento. La cena un experiencia total, todo rico y de calidad y muy íntimo. Cuidan mucho los detalles.

Quizás tener algo más de margen para los horarios de la cena. En la cena deben respetar un poco más el ritmo del comensal y esperar más a que los platos se vayan finalizando antes de traer el siguiente. El secador de pelo.

Le service était impeccable avec une vue à couper le souffle dans notre chambre. Le repas et le petit déjeuner était franchement bon avec plusieurs propositions, on ne peut que recommander.

Certainement l'un des plus beaux établissement visités pendant notre voyage au Japon. Un vrai plaisir de profiter de la chambre au calme et évidemment du onsen privé avec une superbe vue. Les repas proposés sont copieux et délicieux. Le personnel est très agréable et aux petits soins. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !
