Check in was not that busy yet we had to wait and it took awhile. The reception lady serving popcorn n welcome drinks was not friendly and definitely not welcoming. Also it was rather noisy they speak loudly amongst each other. First impressions is an experience to remember especially in hospitality.

Floors were dirty. Room 1218. Nail on the carpet. Globes on ceiling needed replacing. Telephone receiver dead had to use the speaker. Basin plug has no seal so water does not stay in basin. Service at the dinner table downstairs very slow. No service the one day when we sat in the couches.

I am writing to express my strong disappointment regarding my recent stay. Upon entering my initial room, I noticed the floors were sticky and spotted cockroaches near the bathroom area. Due to personal reasons, I had two separate bookings and had requested reception to notify me when my second room was ready. I received a call confirming it was prepared, but when I arrived at the front desk with all my luggage, I was informed the room was actually not ready. After waiting in the lobby for 40 minutes without any updates, I inquired again and was instructed to return to my original room. However, upon returning, housekeeping was already servicing it for the next guest. I had to head back to reception yet again before finally being allocated a new room. The severe lack of cleanliness and poor communication made this an extremely frustrating experience. I hope management addresses these issues promptly.

The view not exactly sea - view with price allocation for sea view but a 45 degree angle. None the less . I had a very pleasant stay. The sliding door in Room 1403 onto the Balcony needs a squirt of Q20 on the runner .

Nice, new modern rooms. All the amenities and friendly, helpful staff. They cleaned, gave new towels and water everyday. Mall and numerous eateries all around. Beach a few steps away.

I would like to have known that the gym was outside the hotel. It was Planet Fitness, which was next door to the hotel.

Location was great. Staff were friendly.

There was a cockcroach spotted in the room in the evening. Construction across the room was not ideal but understandable.

Although it looked well-maintained and clean, we did spot a few (living) cockroaches in the apartments. That’s why we switched apartments (to a completely different part of the complex), but unfortunately that made no difference (and the presence of cockroaches seemed to be common knowledge amongst the staff….). Depending on the location of your room, you may be disturbed at night by the noise of cars racing along the street.

The hotel appeared to be have some sort of refurb. Our first room had a number of issues. We were eventually moved to another room which was an upgrade.

The location is amazing!

The hotel is beautiful especially the pool area. I like the apartment style. They had salt and pepper in the rooms which was a plus

The breakfast fadt was not fresh. Some of the pastry was stale. They need to fumigate i saw to cockroaches in my room during my stay

The service from all the staff was just superb. They even played with my child while I ate. I really really really appreciated them for that. Breakfast was sooooo delicious!!!

Sometimes the check in cards don't tap. And sometimes the lift doesn't take you to your floor and I kept having to change lifts in order to finally get to my floor

It took 3 days of complaining to get them to clean the bird shit of the balcony glass and sill which was disgusting and should have been done before we moved in??? The biggest disappointment however were the high performance racing cars dancing on the road nearby right through the night making it impossible to sleep. I came back from the week exhausted and feeling like I really needed a holiday. I will never stay at Umhlanga beachfront ever again🤬

Had an excellent stay at Capital Pearls Hotel and everything else was ok except the language issue where staff assume that all their guests speak their local language.

The views from my sea-facing room. The location is excellent- right across Oceans Mall for dinner or shopping.

I really wasn’t happy with the noise levels. From the reception there is loud music. It gives “party vibes” instead of a serene hotel stay. Then walking to the lifts to the hotel, the floor was filthy. The rooms also could do with a bit of a revamp - the couch was old.

This hotel is the best of all time, I love it and am gonna revisit again, me and my girlfriend enjoyed the stay, and everything is perfect especially their service, people ,rooms ,food the views ,pool everything 10/10 i wish the check out time, to be escalated from 10 to 11

The area (I didn’t have to drive facilities I needed were within a touching distance) staff (friendly amd very helpful) and facilities (clean and smells fresh. The facility is also versatile was there for business and leisure, the property easily full filled both).

There didn’t have DSTV of their own and I had to login with mine in order to watch the game.

Super große Anlage, die wirklich gepflegt ist. Sehr freundliches und Aufmerksames Personal. Zimmer wirkt sauber und gepflegt. Betten sehr bequem. Beim Blick vom Balkon konnten am morgen Delphine und Wale beobachtet werden. Absolut zu empfehlen.

Baulich ist der Pool hinter der Loby/Restaurant verortet. Das hat mich nicht so angesprochen.

10:00 AM check out spoilt my stay at the hotel. Great hotel, fantastic staff but the super early check out meant I could not finish my work calls in the morning. I would imagine even more awkward for families with small children

My husband and I visited the Capital Pearls with our 4 year old daughter and we all loved it! We didn't want to leave. We had a wonderful sea facing room with a balcony, our rooms were thoroughly cleaned everyday and location is very convenient as it is walking distance from the mall, restaurants and the beach

The only thing I liked was the bed.

The place is conveniently situated close to all amenities.

Firstly, the lifts around 10am in the morning are a nightmare to navigate. No proper instructions on how to utilize the lifts. Secondly, the noise from all the construction around can also be unbearable especially in the morning.

The overall staff attitude was noticeably less helpful and less eager to assist compared to the other hotels we stayed at during our holiday. Our room was not in the main hotel building and felt quite disconnected from the overall hotel experience, requiring two lifts just to get to reception and the dining area. On one morning at breakfast, we queued at the egg station with around six orders ahead of us. As those orders were prepared, upon collection with us and other guests in the que, they appeared to be staff meals—large plates piled high with food and freshly made omelettes—which were collected and carried through to the back by staff members while paying guests continued waiting. It gave the impression that hotel guests were not being prioritised. This was the most expensive hotel of the four we stayed at during our holiday, including another hotel in The Capital group, yet it offered by far the poorest value for money. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the standard we had experienced elsewhere on our trip.

The apartment was beautiful,clean and spacious . It was nice to have easy access to the swimming pool and the restaurant for breakfast. The staff from reception to the restaurant were lovely and helpful. We enjoyed breakfast, the food was delicious.

In our two-bedroom apartment, the room with two beds was quite small so it made it difficult for two people to move around. So small that the door could not close without constantly hitting one of the beds. It would have also been nice to have a mirror in that room.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an absolutely impeccable stay! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel so welcome. Everyone was incredibly friendly, warm, and always willing to help with a smile. The hotel itself was beautiful, comfortable, and well-maintained, making my stay even more enjoyable. To top it all off, they surprised me with a birthday cake, which was such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture. It truly made my birthday feel extra special. Thank you to the entire team for your outstanding hospitality. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting and will definitely be back!

My room was sea view but couldn’t see the ocean well because gravel was in front of that room

The rooms were clean and well-maintained. It was great to have access to everyday essentials such as a hairdryer, fridge, washing machine, and microwave, which made it feel like a home away from home. The location was another highlight, with the beach and a variety of restaurants just a short walk away.

Unfortunately, the staff were rude and unhelpful. There was little effort to greet guests, and they seemed unwilling to assist with anything outside of their specific responsibilities. Another major downside was the constant noise from nearby nightclubs, which continued until around 4:00 a.m. every night, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep.

Disgraceful service! R36k for a room full of toxic paint fumes and no help from management: :We have just checked in to The Capital Pearls, and it is an absolute nightmare. We paid R36,000 for a three-bedroom room, only to walk into a complete construction zone. The room was full of workmen actively painting with heavy enamel paint and trying to fix the unit. The chemical fumes are overwhelming, making it completely impossible and unsafe to stay here with little kids.The service from start to finish has been terrible. We asked for porter assistance upon arrival, which we never received. When we discovered the state of the room, we called head office to assist, but they were completely uninterested in helping us. We were then promised that the General Manager would come see us personally, but they never showed up.Paying premium prices for this level of neglect, safety hazards for children, and non-existent management is completely unacceptable. This place is absolutely appalling and terrible. Avoid at all costs.
