Dear Management, I am writing to formally complain about my recent seven-night stay and, in particular, the way my cancellation request was handled. When I checked in, I was told that after five nights I would have to move to another room for the final two nights, even though the replacement room was essentially identical. I therefore asked whether I could cancel the final two nights instead, and I was told that I could. On my first night, at around 5:00 a.m., the fire alarm went off and all guests were evacuated from the building. I understand that fire alarms are necessary for everyone’s safety, but this was a very unpleasant experience and further affected my overall stay. The following day, I went to management and asked to cancel the final two nights, based on what I had previously been told. The staff member said that I could cancel, but there would be no refund. I found this extremely frustrating because when I originally asked whether I could cancel, I was simply told that I could. The fact that there would be no refund was not explained to me at that time. Saying that I could cancel and then later telling me that there would be no refund was, in my view, highly misleading. What was particularly unacceptable was the staff member’s attitude towards me. I was completely calm and polite throughout the conversation. However, as soon as she heard that I wanted to cancel, her attitude became very unfriendly and confrontational. She told me to leave because there were other people in the room, and at one point she hit the desk while speaking to me. My first reaction was to question her attitude and say, “What is this attitude?” However, after she hit the desk, I did not want the situation to escalate. I simply said, “Excuse me, I have to leave,” and left. I did not raise my voice or behave aggressively towards her at any point. I was a paying guest making a reasonable request and communicating calmly and respectfully.

The room was amazing, warm (heated tiles in the bathroom), comfortable, clean and quiet. We enjoyed the view of a peaceful stream from the balcony.

Great facilities, very spacious, great value for money. Parking was great, kitchen had pretty much everything necessary for cooking for ourselves

To get to the actual location, there is a slightly tedious uphill walk. Not a big deal for most people but after a day of hiking you sure feel it!

Balconies were great to enjoy the views. Loved the fireplace and the heat pump kept us warm. Comfy couches and spacious living areas. On site covered parking was great and felt very secure.

Loved the apartment! Clean. Really good heater & amazing view from our Superior room balcony (lake & mountain). Good having washer & dryer. Manager was friendly & helpful too. We liked it so much we booked again. First was Superior 2bdrm with nice view/balcony and the next stay was Standard 2bdm on ground floor with not a view. Each apartment is slightly different (beds, furniture, washing machine, view). Next time we will pay the bit extra for Superior as the balcony was private & better view. Apartments have everything we needed, and in walking distance to town.

In our Standard 2bdm, we had a washer/dryer all-in-one combo and the machine had a bad smell on first use. Prefer seperate washer and dryers personally, as the clothes dry better. Our particular Standard room had an outdoor terrace w table/chairs but it was open, so didn’t feel private. No shelf in shower so had to try balance a few things.

Small flat. No space at all for suitcases. Small bathroom. Second room was not occupied but we were not allowed to even put our suitcases there.

I liked everything about the property, it’s was roomy and very comfortable, it had secure parking and even a lift to each floor and the surroundings outside our unit and the street we were in was very picturesque. Also the landlady was very nice and helpful 😁

Location is walking distance to town and water front.

Needs a proper clean. Not just a wipe over. Could see crumbs under the lounge. Felt rather grubby. The shared sugar and coffee, not ideal… The room smelt terribly of burnt fatty food. We had to pull the range hood apart and clean to try and get rid of some of the smell. The front bedroom was like sleeping in full day light with the external lights shining through the terrible blinds. We had to hang towels to try make it dark enough for our kids to sleep without a light shining in their eyes. We had no hot water after 2 showers and were told to just wait and see. No hot water until the next morning. Wouldn’t recommend.

Loveliest host, the apartment was quite spacious with an outside balcony overlooking the garden and with mountain view. Perfect location, just 5 min walk from the the lake, shops and closest supermarket.

The facilities were good. The sitting area seemed quite basic and couch not that comfortable. Bedroom did not have much space around the bed with hanging and storage space very limited. Although we had booked the apartment we were strictly told we could not use the second room or if it looked as though we had we would be charged. If you rent an apartment is not the space yours to use how you wish. ??

6 weeks out from my stay I ask if it was possible to use the 2nd room, answer was yes @ $200 per person that was very expensive so we did not take the 2nd room.My wife was unable to join me as she had a family bereavement and as there was only 1 person staying not 2 the charge was the same? Big money for a none serviced apartment !!

It was very comfortable, large living room. Bed was very comfy loved the stereo!

We did not get the room we thought we had paid for. The elevated view of the lake and mountains was infact a groundfloor view of the neighbours digger Carpet was in the living area was very stained as explained and acknowleged by the check-in staff! The one bedroom apartment is very new, in fact the complex looks new, everything is still shiny and well looked after and extremely cleam. The lady at reception was very nice and showed us up to the apartment and let us know where everything was. The apartment was easy walking distance to town. (5 mins) The apartment had everything you needed for a short or long stay, and everything worked perfectly. A washer and dryer and small clothesline was also provided with the usual detergents. The balcony had a lovely view and a stream next to it where you could hear the stream, even over some soft music which gave it a lovely atmosphere.

I am going to be a little bit picky here, only because of the price. I gather that Wanaka must be expensive as it was about 30% higher in cost to the rest of our trip around New Zealand, and it was probably the smallest apartment we stayed in. Even though the place was brand new, it really was bland, no lamps, no decorating flare. It was a one bedroom apartment, but we struggled to find a spot to put our luggage, a medium size suitcase would not even fit in the bedroom, we had to find some wall space around the living area, and we had a soft suitcase, if you have one of those hard suitcases, you would struggle to find a space to open it up. The shower could do with a shelf to put your own items on, they did supply the usual wall body wash etc, but there was no shelf for us ladies to put our own cleanser and hair products on. Also, at nearly $500nzd a night, they couldnt even supply a small, long life milk. I am not sure what banking facilities they use, but there was a 2.5% credit card fee to pay for our accommodation. But to be fair the lady said we could do an international transfer (no fee), but this seemed a bit tricky at the time, so we settlrd for the fee. Maybe check before you go so you can organise yourself before check in. This place is extremely clean, a nice balcony and a good position, so dont let my little winge put you off.

Very modern apartment with everything you need, I wish we could have stayed longer! Great location, walk to everything in town. Loved the view from the balcony for evening wine or morning coffee. So appreciate it has a normal washer and dryer, we were able to do some much needed laundry with a real washer and dryer!!

We have stayed at Belvedere apartments before and found the location to be perfect, a short walk to the centre of Wanaka but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. The kitchen facilities are great with the option to cook your own meal which we did one of the nights we stayed.

I understand our stay was in the peak season but I feel like it was a little overpriced. Other than that everything else was great.

Room was comfortable, good basic facilities and a nice quiet street.

Spacious and bright apartment in a quiet & beautiful street in Wanaka . Also within walking distance to the shops / bars / restaurants and lakeside .

We opted for a garden view when booking the room but we’re a little disappointed with the view . We did have a nice sunny balcony though , just the view was of a building and not a garden .

We loved the location and comfort of the apartment.we could walk into Wanaka to shop, drink and eat. Loved the balcony to sit out and eat. We had allocated parking under cover. We would definitely stay there again.

The gap between the bed and door was fairly narrow but ok. We left the door open at night so it was easy to access the bathroom.

Large modern apartment, well stocked kitchen, balcony overlooking a mountain stream. Very nice place. Loved listening to the sound of the babbling brook at night. It’s two blocks from town, yet quiet enough to be away from the noise. Safe free parking under the building.
