This is one hostel I keep coming back to because it's well maintained. The location and the room are strong reasons to come back. No other hostel in Queenstown is as well maintained as this one

There's nothing I really didn't like. One thing I'd suggest as a room for improvement is the kitchen - instead of using tea towels to dry the utensils, I'd prefer an alternative solution, because most of the time, utensils taken out of storage still have water on them and aren't dried correctly

First bed I had was a bit stuffy.

The location lakefront and in town centre was great. The staff / people on working-holiday visas etc were always helpful. The aesthetic and the vibe are cool.

The bunk beds are extremely narrow. If you’re a broad guy, you can barely lie comfortably on your back, especially when using the power outlets right next to your pillow. Because the space is so cramped, my charging cable kept getting unplugged during the night, and I repeatedly woke up to find that my phone or power bank hadn’t charged at all. There is also no proper workspace for people who need to work on their laptops. There’s a tiny corner in the TV room with space for one person, but realistically you can’t concentrate there while people next to you are chatting, watching movies, playing guitar, etc. The only other option is the tiny kitchen, which is equally unsuitable: there are no free power outlets, and people are obviously cooking and eating right next to you. In general, the entire hostel feels very cramped, including the common areas and even the corridors. Besides the lack of a proper workspace, another major drawback for anyone who works while travelling was the laundry situation. There was no option to pay by card — you literally needed coins to use both the washing machine and the dryer. As an international traveller without New Zealand cash, this effectively meant having to withdraw money from an ATM and pay hefty fees on a European bank card. I ended up spending the equivalent of around €20 just to wash and dry one load of clothes. Even in the Australian desert, I found a completely cashless laundromat where a wash cost around $5. A coin-only laundromat in New Zealand in 2026? Is this 1994?

Awesome location

Loved these guys the room i got was spacious and well equipped with a beautiful view of the lake. The staff were super kind and social and whenever i was downstairs were always open for a good yarn and a chat. The location is so central that you’re close to everything in queenstown and makes it the perfect walking distance to everything you need. I can’t wait to visit again next snow season!

Absoloot was a perfect location and a short walk to everywhere.

Cleanliness of the private rooms could be a little better improved, bedding didn’t feel clean. Feel for winter months there should’ve been more than a coverlet and blanket for warmth.

The location was amazing right in the centre of town with breathtaking views right out the bedroom window and the kitchen. You could sit and people watch for ages. The staff were lovely and so helpful. It was a short walk to everything in town.

The location, it's by the lake, very near to shops, restaurant and most of the popular attractions.

No table and chair inside our family room.Towels not replaced daily but doest matter. A very little issue.

Around main lake side area, so might be noisy if you are a light sleeper. But I had my ear plugs on- that helped.

The facility.\n Is the perfect location and you are right at the harbor the kitchen is shared, but it's very updated and you can put pretty much everything you want in this kitchen. It is very clean. The rooms are also unisex, but they're also very clean and very helpful and very understanding. I was really lucky to be able to have a room on my own. And it was well appreciated , and I like to thank the staff for being on top of things

Great location, kind staff, and it was very clean. Beds were comfy. You can’t really see out the kitchen window much anymore because of the trees but it’s still very pretty.

There wasn’t a great amount of storage space in the rooms for large bags and when the room is full it can get a bit cramped.

It's in town, close to the shops and bus

Linen was itchy and smelly. woke up with cockroach running through my face.

Get kicked out of the kitchen at 10. And having the person start cleaning the kitchen at 9:30

숙소가 추워서 심한 감기에 걸렸습니다. 난방을 틀어달라 했으나, 데스크 직원은 내가 혼자 방을 쓰기 때문에 추운 거라고 대답했습니다. 다음날 다른방 도미토리는 여전히 비어 있는데, 갑자기 제 방에 모든 여행자들을 밀어넣었습니다. 여행자 한명이 기침을 하고 콧물을 흘렸고, 다음날부터 저 역시 며칠간 아팠습니다. 이 호스텔의 가격은 퀸즈타운 가장 저렴한 숙소보다 70% 비쌉니다. 가격을 많이 받는데도 난방비를 아끼는 모습이 프로답지 않았습니다.

The location is amazing, you couldn’t get any more central and the staff were super friendly and helpful.

The rooms are fairly small and ours had an unpleasant sweat smell from the start which wasn’t ideal. The common spaces like kitchen and TV lounge were small and could do with some more maintenance (although naturally your outside exploring Queenstown) it is nice to come back to a more ‘loved’ common space to chill.

The female staff member was kind. One night, a very drunk guest was moved from another room into our room. He was so drunk that he needed help walking. The staff said he could not climb to his top bunk bed in the other room and that he would “just sleep,” but after the staff left, he started shouting in the bathroom, throwing towels, and vaping inside the room. Eventually, the staff called the police and he was moved to another accommodation. I honestly don’t understand why he was moved into our room in the first place. It seemed very stressful for the female staff as she was working alone, handling check-ins, small tasks, and repeatedly calling her manager for help.

Blöd wenn man im dritten ist und runter laufen muss - Handtücher in der Küche nicht sehr hygienisch und trocknen null - kalt - nettes Personal , bis auf die blonde Dame an der Rezeption, die alle von oben herab behandelt und sich eigentlich keinen Millimeter bewegen will. Sehr unfreundlich - nachts bis Mitternacht laut - Pärchen im Zimmer die sich ein Bett teilen

Sehr zentral mit Blick auf den See von der Küche aus. Dusche im Zimmer. Sauber.

Winzige Zimmer. Auch sehr kleine Gemeinschaftsräume, die nicht genug Platz für die Anzahl der Gäste bieten.

日本人から見てもホテル内部、キッチンや廊下、部屋の中も清潔に保たれていました。毎朝スタッフの方が部屋に清掃に来られていました。スタッフの対応も良く、親切に接していただけました。また、立地がよくバス停や飲食店、トレッキングコース、24時間営業コンビニが近くにあり、ちょうど街の中心に位置しているためどこに行くにも大変便利でした。

キッチンにペーパーが無かった。 (私が見つけられなかっただけかも)

Perfect location.

I booked a 2-night stay, but unfortunately, I could only stay for one night because my Jetstar flight was cancelled. I know the policy is non-refundable, but since it was not my fault and I couldn't arrive on the first day, I would appreciate it if you could consider a partial refund for that missed night as a gesture of goodwill. The accommodation itself was great, but the flight cancellation was out of my control

LOCATION. Kitchen was nice but small with a nice view of the lake. Would be cramped during busy summer months. Glad to have free luggage storage. 2 luggage racks in bedroom, but then there was little room to walk.

The room was VERY small and the double bed was pushed against the wall - hard to get in and out for the 2nd person. Soso linens and bedding. No bedside table (no room) and lights were up above the bed headboard.

Great location! I love how the beds were private and had curtains around them. Very clean facilities

There are not many areas to chill apart from the room . The chill area is very small and it doesn’t have the best smell.
