Good value and great location in downtown Nelson
No elevator (which was expected), and room was fairly small.
The room was clean and very well equipped. The communal area is a great idea and is also very well supplied. Views from the rooftop patio are lovely. Would definitely stay here again.
Nothing.
The hotel jacuzzi was on all night and the noise from it kept us both awake for most of the night. For that alone I won't be recommending this hotel .
Perfect locatie in Baker Street. Mooie algemene relaxruimte en dakterras. De hot tub is een leuk extraatje.
Erg kleine kamer. Het koffie apparaat werkte niet. In de middag is er geen receptionist en het bellen via de speaker op de balie werkte niet.
Well run and very clean.
The location and price was good.
Room was too small. Very little space to store clothes. Two single beds pushed together. Bathroom had no shelving space and the shower curtain rail kept falling down. Parking was an issue.
This is a beautifully renovated old building and the rooms are very cozy-modern but with an industrial touch. The rooftop with the hot tub and the hammock was a plus, and the fairly central location near Nelson's main street is definitely convenient.
The first room we were assigned had a broken A/C, and the room was very warm (it was +32°C outside that day). Once we notified the staff, they simply told us to open the windows, so I had to specifically request a room change. In the end, they did give us a new room, but I expected a more proactive approach rather than having to ask for it myself. Also, the rooftop hot tub was nice, but the water wasn't very clean.
The location of the hotel. Cozy setup on the roof. Politeness of the staff.
1. Insufficient parking. They have barely 5 stalls. 2. I reached after an 8 hour drive from Alberta fully tired and exhausted. No one was there at the front desk. Booking.Com gave a standard reply - "we will get back to you in 24 hours". Had to coordinate with the neighbouring restaurant owner to contact someone from the hotel. 3. Next morning, the sewer line backed up and the washroom got filled with black water with horrendous smell. My wife was in the washroom, could not tolerate and vomited everything she had for breakfast. Spent a couple of hours coordinating with the hotel's maintenance person and front desk staff for change of room. Packed all my belongings and moved to another room and unpacked again. Wasted all this time in the hotel which I should have spent exploring the city. 4. At night I found silverfish in the room and on the bed. Also, insects in the washroom. Couldn't sleep properly all night as we were scared of being bitten by insects. 5. The owner offered $65 as a compensation. This is nothing compared to the bad experience, loss of time and energy. People travel to new locations for good experience and comfortable stay. 6. Booking.Com reached out to the hotel multiple times seeking additional compensation but the hotel chose to ignore.
We loved it's European design, and amenities Very convenient to town and market and shuttle bus station Would recommend and stay again
Hmmm not much perhaps a few more wall hooks to hang things....
Location was perfect, central. Rooms were clean. Bed was comfortable. Considering availability in the area, price was ok.
Tiny ice maker in common area. Party with DJ on the rooftop till 10pm, lingering loud guests afterward. Didn't realize I would have to pay extra for parking.
Nicely decorated rooms
No staff at night so if there were noise issues from other guests it was a problem.
Hot sauna and rooftop spa views are beautiful.
The showers look pretty fancy but some features weren't working.
Either Booking.com or the Savoy was remiss in the description of the hotel: there are no elevators. Didn't discover this until after we'd paid, nonrefundable. Chose not to stay--my 82 year old husband walks only with assistance. BOO!
Great location, very comfortable room and lovely amenities such as hot water on demand for tea and coffee.
Very comfy beds
Very disappointing experience. The room was extremely small and the bathroom was very dirty and unpleasant. The biggest issue, however, was being charged an additional $243 after I checked out despite having already prepaid the full cost through Booking.com. The charge appears on my credit card as Savoy Hotel. When I contacted the hotel, they said they didn’t charge me and therefore couldn’t refund it. Booking.com also confirmed they have no record of the additional charge. Being charged more than double what I agreed to pay and then being told nobody can explain or take responsibility for the charge is extremely frustrating. I would not stay here again.
Great spot downtown.
It's a boutique hotel with a European feel.
It’s cool. It starts out feeling a little ‘Budget’ but when you get past the security door it is cool and comfortable. Very peaceful.
No parking
The communal coffee area was nice
The room was very small
Renovations were kinda cool
No parking
Great location on the edge of the city centre. Rooms look great and feature comfy beds. There is a nice common area in the middle of the building with coffee/tee and cold beverages. The rooftop terrace provides panoramic views over the surrounding mountains.
The rooms are on small side and don’t have closets. There are only three wall hangers for your clothes.
I had booked with diff hotel , they double booked me so they made arrangements to stay at the savoy, my stay was great probley the best shower ever have had they are simpler to a cruise ship fantastic , friendly staff great experience I would highly recommend
We booked a junior king suite and twin room for our family which were next to each other which worked very well. Both rooms were great, but junior suite was definitely worth the upgrade for the extra space, views and facilities. Staff were all super friendly and the town of Nelson was a lovely place to spend a few days. Great value for money and exceeded expectations.
Good value and clean

Bien situé! La terrasse est superbe!
We like the size and the location
Did not like that the Hot Tub was no working as well as all the options in the shower as well as the shower head in the master did not work.
Really lovely boutique hotel- heated bathroom floor and towel racks, contemporary styling and lighting. Very pleasant staff. Right at the end of the main shopping/dining district, but quiet. Terrific rooftop patio with hammocks, fire pit tables and reservable hot tub. There is a common area with seating, WiFi and ice, coffee, glassware etc. my second stay!
interesting boutique hotel vibe. large room.
The extra beds were not made up very well. The check-in area was dirty
Good value for money. The room and bathroom were very clean, and the receptionists were very friendly and helpful.
Nothing to complain about

Comfortable bed. Clean room. Staff were friendly. Within walking distance to food and the lake. Hot tub on the deck was clean and had great views. Good guest facilities in the common area. Tea, coffee making, microwave and crockery and cutlery available for use.
Air conditioner was a bit strange to operate in the room. Noisy main air conditioner.
Modern rooms.
The common room was a nice touch and a pleasant enough space.
The room was quite small for the size of bed squeezed in (although the common room compensated for that a bit). It was not clear from the website that street parking was limited hours or that there was a charge for the lot across the street. Perhaps being from Europe made us expect a bit more history in this "historic" property.
Staff weren’t overly friendly Didn’t know where saunas was Paid for parking then couldn’t get a spot
The location was excellent, the rooms tidy.
Booking of the hot tub and sauna was disorganized, with clashes in bookings and the sauna cold on arrival, no towels or robes. We also had a staff member enter our room (I assume to check that it had towels, since it seemed that a few rooms didn't), after we checked in, but obviously thinking our room was empty.
Great location, good facilities, room very clean and of high standard.
Great place to stay. Perfect in every way.Very comfortable. Quiet and clean. Thai restaurant next door very good also
Leaving
Nice hotel within easy walking distance to everything we wanted. Also the hottub and Sauna are great perks.
Small rooms.
It was very cool to stay in such a old building. Everything was finished wonderfully. Staff was very helpful
Nothing
We really liked the location because it was very easy to find, and everything was spotlessly clean. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating.
The room itself was smaller than we had expected it to be. Additionally, the beds were a bit too soft and squishy for a comfortable night's sleep.
Très bien comme endroit, chambre propre et grande salle de bain. Espace commun pour relaxer !
Le stationnement n’est pas très pratique
Rooftop hot tub was great. Overall, cool building, nicely renovated, reasonable cost.
Conveniently located on Baker Street. Also our suite was beautiful, clean, modern yet cozy! The rooftop hot tub was a great place to relax after a day of hiking in the beautiful Canadian mountains!
Parking was tricky but it always worked out fine. One night we had to park up the street and walk but it was easy and very doable.
We loved our stay at the Savoy Nelson! We choose the King Suite for our family of 5 and it worked out amazingly well! The hotel itself is nice, comfortable, clean, updated yet charming in style. Its location was perfect, allowing us to walk Baker Street for shopping and restaurants and down to the formers market on the weekend! The rooftop hot tub was a great place to unwind after a day of hiking the beautiful Canadian mountains! We will definitely stay at the Savoy again on our next trip to Nelson!
Loved the hot tub, location, and the comfy bed.
The room was a little dirty
Die Dachterrasse ist der Hammer. Unbedingt raufgehen.
Es brummt draußen etwas von den benachbarten Dachterrassen.
Good location
No elevator
Great boutique hotel close to everything. Nice rooftop deck - you need to prebook the hottub - and great amenities. Parking is a challenge - only 5 spots at $10 per day for 12 rooms is a bit crazy - and really only 2 hour pay parking in the area during the day (nights are free). Overall was a great stay and would highly recommend.
The bed was very comfortable, and the staff were nice.
We had to pay for parking, and the view from our window wasn’t great.
Awesome updated rooms. Super friendly staff. Great location to all the restaurants. Perfect hot tub view. Crazy good price for what you get!
The view was amazing., it was quiet and I loved the amazing shower..
I know that it was early in the summer season, but the outside upper deck was not swept or cleaned up from the winter. Not very inviting at all,but a great view.
Staff was nice. Hot tub was good
Room was very small and very noisy. Things were broken Repair person left our room open after doing the repair with all our stuff in the room.
The roof top hot tub was really nice!
There is no secure parking spot offered by the hotel.
Historic value and the amazing room.
Nothing.
This is my second time staying there. I will be using this hotel as my go to stay when in Nelson. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfy. The amenities are super! There’s two restaurants attached. The roof top is beautiful.
It looked modest from the back but the inside was a very pleasant surprise. The room was very well appointed, the bed comfortable and the adjacent common room had a lovely coffee machine. Great views from the rooftop hot tub.
Amazing location and staff
Everything was perfect!
Rooftop was great.
Size of the room was very small.
Cute room, nice common room, great roof hot tub!
Location , heated floor , heated towel rack .nice unexpected extras.
Smallest room I’ve ever stayed in .
Tons of character. Love that they had exposed some of the old brick in the rooms.
Nothing
Close to restaurants and shops. Staff were very helpful and rooms were spotless. Nespresso in the rooms.
Great place, very helpfull and friendly. Updated rooms ,very comfortable.
Everything was good. The staff was very nice.
The location, restaurant recommendations, and roof top spa.
Would have loved a mirror in the room as well as the bathroom.
Fantastic stay, right on Baker Street so easy to walk downtown. Beautiful old building they have completely redone inside, the hotel is small but gorgeous. The roof top hot tub is awesome and has amazing views, the sauna is great too. We had the kitchen suite and it was perfect, big and beautiful room. We highly recommend and will be back again.
We love the rooms at the Savoy. Their Deluxe Suite has everything you need to enjoy a romantic getaway to Nelson. 😊 We're always appreciative of their very pet friendly policies.

The staff is very friendly. I like the location right downtown. Small hotel. There was a nice common area with a fridge a coffee machine it looked like a small Lounge for meetup. The balcony upstairs with the hot tub you have a nice view.
Everything was good but I know it's a hard ask but they could definitely use an elevator. I'm still young but for the older folks with mobility issues they would have definitely a hard time they would not be going there. And the room in the photo looks bigger
Located near many great breakfast spots. Nice walking distance to the Full Circle Cafe.
A bit noisy with road noise at 6:30 am on Thursday morning. Not sure how to fix that except to request a room on the other side of the hotel next time. But really liked the room we had.
Good price, clean and comfy rooms,. Location is great, right downtown Nelson. Great eateries around the hotel. Roof hot tub with a private booking was available. Bed was great, pillows a bit lumpy. Funky, laid back atmosphere. Hotel notified you of stair access and parking.needs.
No storage or organization space. No shelves, or counters or chairs in the room or bathroom so that left the stay feeling awkward and cluttered.. The room was small but benches in the bathroom and , folding shelves and more hooks could have easily been placed in the room. Stayed two nights. Supplies in the room were limited or not available. No robes for hot tub. Only two towels and one tp in room. Elaborate shower did only one spray. Common room right outside our door was interesting. It provided that extra lounging space but not room privacy.
Excellent location , very clean rooms and great bathroom with heated floors
The Sauna and the rooftop hot tub are great!
The staff was fantastic. The place is awesome.
It was all good
It was an excellent stay easy to get into clean, great hot tub, would stay again definitely
Great location, fantastic staff, lovely character!!
Rooms are on the smaller side but that’s to be expected in a property of this age
Great location right off Baker Street. Very friendly staff. It was a short but excellent stay and we will stay here again next time
Bed was a bit on the soft side for us but other than that it was an enjoyable stay
Very clean and modern! Very soft, king-sized bed, huge TV, great location in the heart of Downtown Nelson. Room was cooled by air conditioning and could be easily shaded by blackout curtains. The rooftop lounge offered a beautiful view, a hot tub and some hammocks and deck furniture. The front desk staff were even nice enough to let us use their laundry machines for our own laundry.
No elevators, hauling your luggage up to the room wasn't fun. The hot tub could've been hotter and looked like it could've used a good cleaning too.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great and we loved the clean Euro chic vibe of the rooms.
There was no one at the front desk at check in or at anytime,,,but a buzzer. No phones in the room so when needing something that should be there like a remote for the TV which had to be called for,,,you better have a cel phone plan to call the number they gave between 8am-10pm.After that there is another emergency number but when you call it the mailbox was not set up,,,,you cannot leave a message even.I called this emergency number because it was after 10PM and you cannot control the room temperature from the room. They have it blocked out with a 4 digit code that they don't give you.I called and was then given the code which is complicated and generally a pain to have to do.Hard to believe this is for no other reason than to keep costs down like AC not available because how many people would call for a code. Also the message shower in the room in the pictures was mostly immobilized because they said guests were scalding themselves.Again I think this is to go on the cheap so people don't stay in there longer and use as much water. There was also broken seats in the shower. If scalding is the reason then turn the temperature of the hot water down otherwise the entire shower and sink would need to be immobilized.Coffee machine in the common area was broken and the attendant just kept holding the on button as though that would do it.Generally you're just dismissed when asking for something that should be working properly.
Great boutique hotel in the heart of Nelson. Our room was a single king sized bed with a really great bathroom with heated floors and towel rack. We ate the Sushi restaurant. It was delicious, great atmosphere and so well priced. On top we had a great sauna and hot tub on the roof overlooking Kootenay Lake. We will definitely stay again!
Love the layout, the sauna, the rooftop hot tub, the style, the location!
The rooms are small and therefore the beds are small. My feet hang off and they are so narrow you cant keep track of your pillows... But they can’t really help that. Its a cool place with a cool vibe.
