Did not feel cheap, staff were very nice and helpful for the most part. Good location, not far from multiple bus stops into the centre.
The first evening I stayed (out of three nights total) I could not sleep for a constant droning that turned out to be the noise of an old pipe behind the wall. I tried to drown it out but eventually had to have a Karen moment just before 1AM and ask for a different room. The night manager understood and did all she could to find me somewhere on a different floor, which she did eventually. The next morning before I went to work I had to check that the room was available for the rest of my stay. Once confirmed, my room key stopped working, which meant 3 failed trips up and down to the third floor, then a forced Uber to work so I wasn’t late.
Rooms are very small but very well organised, good shower sockets next to the bed , great simple breakfast.
Wife is the reason we will never return there. In order to have wife the account setting up is required. It is very difficult to do it and a massive hassle. and waste of time. It is the only hotel that made is so difficult, plus additional information need to be given to Sky in order to set up account.
Location perfect for my needs. Lift is great to take luggage as i prefer upper floor. Parking facilities a godsend. It was quiet too as the majority of students had not returned.
The standard of cleanliness in the room has deteriorated since the last time i stayed. The toilet bowl had ‘old ‘ stains. It needs to be bleached clean.. shower was slow to drain , probably a build up of hair .
Clean basic room at a good price
Breakfast is always good. Location is great
Great location, stylish and well equipped double room with everything we needed for a short stay.
The bed could have been a bit softer!
Price and facilities
No kettle in room
A lovely budget hotel, perfect for an overnight stop in order to attend a concert at the University. Even got a pastry and coffee for breakfast which I wasn't expecting. I managed to park but almost full when I returned from the concert. Not sure what it would be like when term starts at the uni as it's right in the heart of the student village but I would definitely consider it again
If you just want somewhere to sleep, and shower with a relatively comfortable bed for a really low price then this is it. What a bargain. However, although advertised as a double you would probably both need to be under 25, and slim for it to be okay. For a single it is fine. It's an upmarket student room. I will stay again.
For the money there isn't much to complain about.
The bed was very uncomfortable, way too small for two adults.
It didn’t say online that it was students’ accommodation. If I knew it was hostel I would not have booked because it not suitable. The toilet was clean but smelling, ongoing.
Clean and comfy
Simple clean and great location
Nothing
Really quiet location with free parking and the rooms, although fairly basic, had comfortable beds and a good shower. Very good value especially as a breakfast coffee and pastry were included in the price.
Despite booking a room for two there were only towels for one person although once we asked a second set arrived promptly. Although the bed was comfortable the pillows were very thin and could do with an upgrade! No tea and coffee making facilities in the room but that is understandable at this price point.
Simple room that met the requirements for a one night stay. Would not stay for more than that.
Breakfast was too simple. Car parking was a huge issue (not enough spaces).
Great location within easy travel distance to town. Basic but clean and working facilities. Very good price. The shared kitchen was great with everything you need.
Nothing
Nice clean and reasonable price
Very small
The breakfast
Having driven 5 hours to get there I asked to check in 15 minutes before check in time. The receptionist was at the desk, doing nothing, but refused to and when I tried to engage in discussion about this, she just repeated "check in time is 3pm" as a ersponse. A queue of people had built up by the check in time, the wifi was then shut down for a maintenance team (who had been there since my arrival so it was not a surprise to staff - wifi was working when I initially tried to check in) and we all waited until at least 20 minutes after check in time to conduct a very slow process, with very limited apology. The fire alarm went off in the night sending us all outside.
Quiet location.
Not a proper hotel. It's a student accommodation block. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room, no bar, no restaurant, room very small. I actually checked out and drove home instead of staying the night.
Convenient place to stay close to the centre
Couldn’t swing a bloody cat round in that room
Away from the noise of the city, clean friendly, simple breakfast 😁 and parking
The fire alarm going off just as I was about to get in the shower.
De rust.
Value for money and convenient
You would not fit two people in a room
It was clean, in a good location and had everything I needed for one night, including breakfast. I would definitely stay again.
Nothing worth mentioning.
Tidy
Full of lots of people drinking and shouting, not controlled by staff, lots of rubbish in parking bays in morning
No air con in rooms and unfortunately we were in the middle of a heatwave
It was an easy check in and perfect for just needing a room for the night
It was incredibly hot because of the heatwav and no air conditioning. It would be okay if there was a fan provided
The heatwave spoiled the visit and my scores are what they would have been without a heatwave.
1. The pillows were smelly when soaked with sweat from the heatwave. 2. Two or more persons talked (one loudly) outside or through an open window until 4am so I could not sleep. Again this was the heatwave as it was too hot to close my window and block out the noise.
Wonderful breakfast & service at next door's Halifax.
Slow lift.
It was very good value, the room was small but very clean and comfortable.
The drains in the en-suite were smelly. The breakfast coffee was always lukewarm,(but it was free and I could have bought fresh hot coffee if I wanted😃)
Very nice clean hotel Friendly staff
comfy bed and free coffee and Croissants in the mornings
It was clean and the staff friendly
Thin walls struggled to sleep as constant noise from inside the building and students in the area
Great location
Lovely room - beds a bit small but they did tell us that
Staff friendly. Breakfast a bonus. Clean.
Kitchen multi use.
Good Central location. Clean and sufficient rooms with ensuite facilities. Great value for money.
Small bed to share with my sister during a heatwave, but the Hotel information did state that the beds are small.
Convenience, price, atmosphere
Room slightly too warm ( though to be fair this is July 2026)
The staff where excellent friendly and helpful and free parking and it's clean
Think the rooms are ok for 1 person but cramped with 2 staying
Good location, free parking, helpful staff, great value for money.
I have no issues.
Close to uni accommodation
Felt like student accommodation
Convenient and inexpensive
Rooms on the top floor were very warm
Good value for money, nice pastries and tea/coffee for breakfast.
The whole place was so hot! We didn’t sleep at all because it was uncomfortably hot, there’s no ventilation and the window only opens a crack. They ran out of pastries for breakfast one day.
Good value for money. Very clean, and the staff were lovely.
Would be nice if there were tea and coffee facilities in rooms. There are communal kitchens with hot water etc, but no milk or tea /coffee.
Friendly at reception and cleaning staff.
Some guests were a little noisy late at night.
Very convenient location for visiting student halls or Botanical Gardens and Eccy Road area. Always friendly, helpful staff. Rooms basic but clean- bed great for one person. Free wi fi and large tv. Numerous common areas to use and shared kitchens available to make drinks.
Fact you are only allowed one filter coffee or tea at breakfast. A free refill would not break the bank! Can be a bit noisy during term time due to students in nearby halls - but understandable.
value for money. great service.
noisy doors,
A good location, close to good restaurants and bars on Eccleshall Road. A nice selection of complimentary breakfast goods
It was unbearable hot in all areas of the hotel and the room windows didn’t open enough to get any air. The building is noisy too.
Convenient location. Friendly staff. Nice pastry and coffee for breakfast.
Parking on site not always available. Also my room was at the front near the entrance so quite noisy with engines revving and people chatting. Room small, clean and good for one person.
Very convenient for university halls and Endcliffe Road area. Staff always friendly and helpful. Rooms fairly basic but always clean with smart tv and numerous charging points. Free wi fi. Kitchen for use on every floor. Hot drinks can be bought at reception and coffee/ tea and pastry free in morning. Plenty of common room space
Can be a bit noisy at night but to be expected as on uni halls campus. Rooms rather warm in summer.
Great fresh pastry for breakfast
-Comfortable bed -Nice water pressure in the bathroom
-There was mould in the bathroom ceiling by the shower cabin. -They advertise parking available on the description but this is only on a first come first serve basis which is not made clear or advertised prior booking, the staff advised me to park on the street as the day I arrived all parking spots were taken, as consequence of this I curbed one of my wheels due to poor lighting on the residential streets nearby.
Economical, clean, tidy, easy to use with ensuite. Breakfast basic but included. Relatively comfortable. Convenient and well used for student graduation.
Noisy doors, hot rooms.
Staff were reasonably helpful
The bed has never seen a double, it’s tiny. The noise levels are ridiculous due to loud closing doors The shower had mould.
Location and value
Great value, clean and modern, room had everything we needed or we could obtain from reception if needed (iron and ironing board and hairdryer)
Shared the room with my husband and the bed was not full size (but we were aware of that beforehand to be fair) but it didn't make for the best night's sleep! Only one pillow each too but I guess could have requested another perhaps........room doors seemed a bit sticky so did make a noise when they closed so once people stated moving around in the morning we were definitely not having a lie-in!
Great price and location. It was exaclty what I was expecting.
There was a small window that did not open very wide, and there was no air con or fan in my room. Not a big issue- but I stayed during a heatwave. Room decor could be modernised.
Location, price
Easy check in and check out. Friendly staff and atmosphere. Great facilities and loved the location. Affordable and family friendly.
The bedroom doors slam shut very loudly, and throughout the night we were repeatedly woken by guests returning late and letting the doors bang closed.
COMFY ROOM
A bit to warm at night
Easy check in, baggage storage for customers who can't check in but need to attend an event early. Pastry and a hot drink included. Ample parking for the entire weekend.
Everything was great
Very clean and modern
Beds are a little small for couples. Okay a night or two.
Good value
A little too warm. A bit noisy
The room was clean.
Pillows were not very comfy
Simple, good value for money, great pastries for breakfast
Parking, extremely hot room and a little small
Clean, comfortable bed and a great location, bathroom was good and great shower facilities. A small breakfast included was good too. Enough room to hang clothes and a desk. TV in the room had HDMI cable compatibility. Parking on site was easy to access.
Other than the rooms were warm and there wasn’t a fan or you couldn’t fully open the window. No problems.
Very reasonable to stay here; although my room was basic and a little tired. The bed was comfortable and the room reasonably quiet. The two members of staff I dealt with were friendly. There was a parking space free, which was convenient and the place is secure. It was an easy walk into the shopping area.
I had to chase for a receipt. I asked the receptionist at breakfast twice for it, said she would send it via email. It did not arrive so I had to ring through the following day.
Good price
Bed is not a good size double. It is extremely small
Over all clean, fresh and well maintained.
Staff could have beenore friendly
Good value for money and walking distance to town. Reception staff are great. Breakfast is a nice bonus (although the coffee urn isn't heated so usually cold if you put milk in your coffee)
Still having some technical difficulties: Stove not working in the kitchen, not enough cutlery in kitchens, TV doesn't connect to Internet so no Netflix etc. No ac so recently has been exceptionally sweaty.
Nothing
We didn’t stay as the room was far too small. We both have mobility issues and it definitely wasn’t suitable for us
Great experience in uni accomodation. On the site of the main halls so perfect for an overnight stay to pick up kids. Close to restaurants and bars.
Nothing. Great value.
Cost effective pricing in refurbished halls of residence . Good morning coffee and croissants for breakfast .
Lack of ventilation
Freundliches Personal.
I have stayed here twice before so know it is suitable for what I want. People friendly, room good, lighting excellent, parking good.
One of the fridges in the kitchen did not feel cold. (The other one was fine)
Perfect location to visit son at uni for an overnighter after travel. Lovely staff member on duty, very helpful.
Double bed i think was maybe a queen size, so two adults struggled with space - sorry not s if this is in yr room details already. Perfect for one person, or 2 slim jims!
Always a reliably good budget option in Sheffield
The coffee was truly dreadful!
The room was clean and comfortable and in a lovely location.
My room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the entrance and car park. I got very little sleep due to the noise guests created when returning / chatting outside. I finally got to sleep around 4am. It would be good if management put up a sign outside asking guests not to congregate in the car park and to be considerate of other guests.
Excellent budget option for when I was helping my daughter move from her Uni halls (Endcliffe) to her 2nd year house. Basic small room, but clean and with everything you need. Enjoyed the coffee and croissant in the reception area in the morning. An extra bonus was that it was a short jog to the Endcliffe ParkRun on Saturday morning. It's also great that it's within the leafy halls of residence land, with a small lake and grassy areas to sit.
Nothing comes to mind that I would change, given that it's a budget option.
Outside the main town centre
No kettle to make a brew
Nothing
I was given several options for check in time. I chose one and the check in time was refused by the host. I contacted the host to ask when I could check in. The host failed to contact me. I did not go to the hotel and feel cheated that I paid £50 and recieved nothing in return. The communication was not poor it was non existent.
We loved the whole plan of the hotel, the breakfast was lovely and overall everything was brilliant
The mattress wasnt the best for comfort but apart from that it was brilliant, a fan would be perfect in preparation for the hot weather
the location and shared downstairs area .
I was at the Jonas during the heat wave -when Sheffield reached 30 degrees. I was in a double room that cost £84 a night. The Jonas has no facilities to cope with high temperature -the small rooms were all like ovens, the windows would not open more than 2cms -no air could circulate during the day or night. The rooms were unbearable Even when the air was cold outside the hot air was still trapped inside. Small fans were given out -but they did not do anything. I felt very ill through the second night and had to spend a couple of hours outside. All the other guest felt the same -no one had any sleep. They also need to improve the access to cold water -they have only 2 bottles of water on the desk for over 50 guests to share. They need a free help yourself chilled water unit. Especially with the hot weather -dehydration is a real thing. The extreme heat in England is not going away and is a regular event in summer -Jonas need to improve their facilities.
Location for party at Halifax hotel
The beds are not suitable for couples and too small beds It was extremely hot Space was tiny for 2 people getting changed There was no tea or coffee facilities
Location was great, staff super friendly, little pastry breakfast in the morning. Clean towels, bedding etc kitchen to use for guests.
Unfortunately, nothing the hotel could control... we went when it was the hottest weekend... so rooms and hotel were super hot. We enjoyed our stay
Checkin, checkout and luggage storage were smooth (with thanks to Beth, who was great). The free breakfast was adequate, and the value for the stay was good.
I visited during an unseasonable heatwave, where staff procedures like keeping shades and windows opened meant that they created an inferno to sleep in instead of closing the windows and drawing the shades to keep the room cooler. They should adjust for guest comfort instead. Location was a bit awkward via public transport, with most buses stopping a 15 minute walk away.
Cappuccino with breakfast rather than weak filter coffee!
As good as a Premier Inn at half the price. Fab morning coffee.
Trying to find it.
Price and clean and quiet. Helpful staff
A bit out. But taxis not too expensive
The location is great. The hotel is always clean and has all the basics you need. Staff will always help if needed. The best "budget hotel / accommodation" I've experienced yet.
If I had a magic wand, a pool and gym would be nice, but prior to booking, I was aware it doesn't have those facilities.
Clean, comfortable, access to kitchen facilities and really good value for money.
Good value for money. Clean and accommodating staff.
Fire alarm at 2am is so annoying. We went all out and it’s too cold. Far from the center if you are commuter.
Super clean and comfortable
Was just slightly warm in the room but not any fault of the hotel, the weather was very warm.
Location was perfect
Beds were small and it was very hot
Great value for money. Nice staff and relaxed atmosphere
All good
Staff, location, parking
It was very hot in the corridors and bedrooms
