the room was superb for comfort, space and view. very clean and kept fully stocked each day with toiletries and tea, coffee and milk etc.Only
Only nit pickers would find something to have a moan about! They fall into a special category known only to themselves and which we try to stay clear of.
We absolutely loved our stay at Lodore Falls. I was a little perturbed at paying an additional £90 for us both to use the spa facilities, as I'd expected these to be incorporated within the initial cost. But otherwise, we loved it & we hope to be back again next year but only when there's a deal on, as the cost including the spa was a little over our budget.
We ordered a toasted teacake in the main bar area, which took over 40 minutes to arrive after we asked how long it would be. The bar staff did actually offer to refund us, but we hadn't set up a tab for our room and we couldn't wait any longer for her to refund it back, so we waived the refund.
Lovely hotel, great staff
Nothing all fabulous
Beds were very comfy Hotel furnishings and environment are high standard Staff were all friendly and keen to help
Room temperature - too hot Dog friendly room was small and set far away from dog accessible area so early morning toilet call was slightly stressful
Everything
Everyone and everything so lovely and friendly
The Lodore is an old favourite and always comes up to expectation.
Nothing.
Great place to stay.. Exceptional breakfast. All staff are polite, efficient and professional. They go all the way to ensuring your stay is perfect. There are no problems, just solutions.
Extremely slow WiFi. Long walk to and from the car park. Very little drawer space.
Evening meals and breakfast were perfect with plenty of choice.

The location and surrounding area are fabulous. The hotel staff were generally friendly and it felt cosy and clean.
My single room was in-between the lift and the staircase, also above the kitchen so was noisy. I could not sleep with the window open as there was a huge AC unit outside. I was really disappointed with this. The food in the Lodore Falls Brasserie was very average. My Spaghetti Bolognese was chopped up like kids food. Also the breakfast was average.
Beautiful surroundings, good food, wonderful service
The room was very small for the amount we paid
Great location and spa is fab room was beautiful and bed so comfy
Food options are not great in my opinion but that’s just my thoughts
Location - setting perfect Lovely gardens Lovely bedding and room Good breakfast Cocktail choice
Having to pay for spa access Drilling in hotel at 7.15 am
The stay was fantastic. Hotel and food were amazing. Spa was a fantastic addition.
Nothing
Awful food. Water metallic. Limited access to Spa. Left early
The property was very clean and comfortable, staff were excellent.
Great location and staff were wonderful. Reminds me of the lodge in Dirty Dancing ( without the dancing)
My room for single occupancy was not great. Really small. I could nearly touch either side of the room with my arms outstretched. It was very warm however if you opened the window all you could hear were air conditioning units. Not the best nights sleep and the fire alarm went off at 4am. Also the spa was expensive and certain bits didnt work. A highlight was a woman spilling beer in the pool.
Everything, the location , pool, accommodation and the food was excellent.
Nothing
i ate the breakfast but could of cooked a better one myself black pudding and mushrooms were very dry
no grass for dogs and the place was far to hot
Bar staff and staff in Mizu were lovely but that’s about it.
Car park rather than lake view - poor experience with spa booking (Zak did not explain that a payment link would be sent via email in advance and that unless paid the spa booking would cancel - why not use SMS?) attitude from Zak was at best curt and offered a spa experience the following day - we had planned our arrival for a treatment and spa day (2 hours as that’s all that’s on offer) as we needed to travel back early the next day. Room okay but someone else’s half eaten butter was in the mini fridge and room was noisy from early morning brewery deliveries. Mizu food was very poor - take away presented on a plate rather than a dining experience and all pinged in the microwave (it arrived that quickly) - advice when booking using Booking.com is do some homework outside of the platform as we have since found that we were not an isolated case!
A beautiful location Clean and tidy Quiet with unreal scenery Very king staff Great food Great drinks Brilliant customer service Comfortable room
The WiFi was glitching a bit but it wasn’t a problem everything else was amazing
We’ve been here a few times now and love it.. what’s not to love it’s stunning ! Food is lovely, hotel clean and beautiful and the spa is exceptional.. we’ve had treatments here and the staff were amazing !!
The taps don’t really fit the sink.. it’s like they are fitted in the wrong place and water goes on the top h less you open the tap a lot to start with which isn’t a major thing but just an odd thing to get wrong
great location spa is amazing also staff is lovely
rooms - no aircon, couldn't sleep with the heat of the room -smoke alarm went off at 4 am with out no feedback and no clean towels or toilet roll when cleaners cleaned room.
Both excellent.
Bit pricey
Breakfast was great good size portions! The location is outstanding so beautiful. The spa was so good!
Everything was lovely no complaints at all.
Amazing location and building to match facilities second to none
I think the Asian restaurant was the best, and the reception lounge bar was also nice. My favourite part was the spa.
The food was poor, the standard compared to the price was surprising. The breakfast was especially disappointing. Some of the staff including one chap who works at the lounge bar was incredibly rude. The spa was lovely, except their problem with mold and spider nests. We first got a non refurbished room despite paying extra for a superior room, once we spoke to reception they said that room was one of the only rooms left they haven’t refurbished and most people complain, as we were paying the same price as refurbished rooms this was not fair.
Nice public areas
Bedroom next to extractor fan and noise from this
Location; bed was comfortable
Reception staff (the breakfast staff and housekeeper were v nice); cheap decoration; the fact we would be charged £40 per person to use the spa and this had to be booked; very average breakfast - watery porridge; poor view from both rooms; average bathroom facilities; my bedspread was stained.
Very peaceful and staff were really friendly
It’s Location
Overpriced poor quality food and drink, small cramped damaged room.
Spa
Nothing
The location is great and that’s generally what you are paying for. Hotel grounds are also lovely and the hotel itself is nice and clean.
Several things made this feel poor value for money considering we paid £300 for b&b for two. - there is no secondary pool for hotel guests, there is only the spa which is a paid for 2 hour slot - there was a shortage of nutella for toast/pancakes at breakfast, apparently they had ran out. Inexcusable considering it’s £300/night b&b - hotel room TV did not have the Netflix app available but all other streaming platforms (strange) - when we first arrived there was a dog left in a bedroom in distress barking for a long time, Hotel staff resolved this once notified - the room was far to hot/warm (given the weather currently this can’t really be avoided)
The restaurant staff were very caring and helpful, while the rest of the hotel staff did not seem capable of making guests feel welcome or providing adequate support. The hotel itself was pleasant, but somewhat dated and lacking any particular services that would justify the price paid. There is no swimming pool, except for the one in the spa, which is available at an additional charge and can only be booked in two-hour slots. We paid an extra £40 for access to the spa, and it was worth it. The food in the restaurant was excellent and one of the highlights of our stay.
Unfortunately, the experience did not meet the expectations of a 4-star hotel. Apart from the restaurant staff, who were professional and attentive, the service throughout the hotel was disappointing. Housekeeping failed to clean our room and bathroom on the second day, despite our request at reception. In addition, some of the hotel's promotional photos are misleading, particularly those that make it appear to be directly on the lakefront, when it is actually set back and separated from the lake by a road. Considering the level of service and amenities provided, the overall experience did not represent good value for the price paid.
Really liked the room, staff were friendly (especially the girl from the brasserie with a Birmingham accent). Spa was lovely, clean and no problems. Food in the brasserie was lovely.
Conditioner bits on the floor/ sides of the bath and on the shower head, seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned from previous guest. Limescale/ black mould around shower door. Lift in reception was only big enough for one person, not the most practical when trying to get in with suitcases. Could hear the guest next door snoring.
Loved the location and scenery. The spa facilities were amazing however I do feel 2hrs isn’t quite enough. Guests she be able to have longer
I didn’t like that I paid extra for the lake view and I was situated on the far right of the property overlooking a carpark. If I leant round I could make out the lake but that was disappointing. I’d have just booked a standard room had I known that.
The spa and pan Asian restaurant
The size of the bedroom
areas reserved because a wedding was on
The view and location were out of this world. The hotel itself is beautiful. The spa was really good - definitely recommend if a tad pricey. Staff are very lovely. The gardens are beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed my evening sat outside with a drink looking at the view!
Ok so the rooms are a bit dated. Not a massive issue in itself but the room we were originally in you could hear fhe generator all night. The rooms themselves are really too hot - if wasn’t an overly warm night and sleep was difficult. We had to have the windows open and loads of bugs came in! Thankfully the manager moved us to a different room which was much better but still super hot with the sound of the generator. Also the fire alarm went off at around 6am due to something burning in the kitchen. So unfortunately not a great stay or nights sleep. The Asian restaurant is average. Breakfast also average. Such a shame because this could really be a magnificent hotel if they installed some AC and updated the rooms.
Loose falls hotel is in the greatest of locations the hotel was spotless clean and comfortable in the bar and restaurants the are downstairs is great
The rooms are small and dated with a lack of air con I know it sounds picky but at the price you pay we expect it over price I thought
Lovely hotel & friendly staff.
We thought breakfast was excellent
We are old and were on the third floor. We had to use the stairs when the small lift was busy. We think there should be a short hand rail at the top of the third floor stairs, to make going down the first few steps safer. Please do have a look at that. Also we’d have liked to make done hot chocolate before going to bed!
Great location
Nothing
Location,view,the spa
Inconsistent service, room v hot, bar was overly bright and no music which meant there was no atmosphere
The location and view is just perfect. The staff are all very welcoming, attentive, and very accommodating. The food is excellent (Mizu restaurant) and breakfast had a great selection. The spa experience (including treatments) was a highlight and I can now see why you need to pay extra for this!
The rooms themselves aren’t great, and I feel you are definitely paying for the view and location rather than the stay itself. Our room wasn’t too clean, the mattress was very uncomfortable and the room itself really needs AC as the small fan provided only blows hot air around and made it very difficult to sleep! These things wouldn’t stop me returning as I think the positives make up for it.
The comfy sofas dotted around the place
Being charged for water in the brasserie
Everything
No fridge in the room and no access to cold water all the bottled water we had to buy was warm
The hotel is set in the most beautiful location and the staff are super helpful and friendly. The rooms are decorated to a high standard.
There were minor signs of wear and tear in the room and within the spa BUT that’s if I really had to pick an issue! this did not affect our stay/experience in the slightest.
The location is second to none, as were every single one of the staff apart from one very surly receptionist. The food in both the Falls and Mizu Restaurants was first class and the hotel is beautifully furnished. The room were a little on the small size and unbearably hot, the bathrooms were very well appointed and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean.
The temperature of the rooms, although it was hotter than normal for the UK, it was only low to mid 20's degrees and the rooms were stifflingly hot - mine more so than my son's room. A very small fan was provided, but utterly useless. it was unbearable and almost impossible to sleep. For a hotel of this quality and price, this is unacceptable and they need to find a better solution than saying its a heatwave and fans are provided - that is not good enough when you are charging in excess of £300 a night for a standard room. Also the wifi didn't work in my room ( it did everywhere else in the hotel) and the shower could not be switched between the rainfall and hand held shower heads - my son had the same problem in his room too. And the most annoying thing is despite paying in excess of £300 for the room, they wanted an extra fee of £45 per person for 2 hours in the Spa - that frankly is taking the mickey and many of the guests though this was ridiculous - ok some people want the whole Spa experience and that is fair enough, but we only wanted a quick dip in the outdoor pool and to want an extra £45 for that just taints the whole experience - if they charged say £15 just to swim then may be a solution. Also they tried to charge us for having a dog in the room, and when we said we didn't have a dog, just a surly 'well we will remove that from the bill' from the receptionist, no apology, made it seem like it was our fault!
Beautiful location, the scenery was divine and the staff were very friendly
I found it very difficult to sleep on the first night as the room next to me had a dog, that was barking too often. They also were smoking on their balcony, so if I had my balcony doors open my room would smell of cigarettes.
- Great location. - Lovely, helpful staff. - There was a dog friendly dining area (and he was allowed a sausage at breakfast).
- No air conditioning in our bedroom. (There was a fan.) - Spa was very nice, but I thought the £45 charge for residents was a bit steep. I only wanted to swim in a pool.
Fabulous location. Smart decor
Fake handpumps for beer. No milk in room. Lack of info on how to get to Lodore eaterfalls and ferry
Location, cleanliness
Some (not all) staff in both the hotel and spa area were rude.
We liked the location and the view
The staff, unhelpful and rude. Also the room was very hot, and the windows hadn’t been cleaned for years.
Location and facilities
Food in Brasserie evening meal very expensive
Location
No air on and that didn’t seem to say so on the website. We stayed when it was hot and it was difficult to sleep. If we had known there was no air on we wouldn’t have stayed there. The menu was OK but not exceptional. The restaurant service was rather slow and on both occasions we ordered red wine when they took our order but it only arrived with our main course with the bottle unopened. This didn’t give it time to breathe. We drank some of it with our meal but to most of it outside to drink. This really spoiled our meal. One of the bottles which was opened at the table had a dry cork and some of it remained in the bottle. The waitress took it away to get someone to remove the rest of the cork then brought it back. This didn’t bode well for a 4 star hotel
Staff very good and made us welcome
Air conditioning inrooms, more sunbeds around pool
Hotel staff welcoming, food at the pan Asian restaurant exceptional, location stunning, spa facilities lovely with amazing views and best facial treatment ever and good breakfast with lots of choice
There were a lot of rules around the spa and while the staff were generally lovely there was a lot of inflexibility from the management. We visited during a heat wave and bedroom had no air conditioning so didn’t sleep well at all. Fan provided in room but made no difference. Twin room was very small.
Everything
Nothing
The facility is fantastic, the spa is beautiful we really enjoyed our stay
The food menus read really nice but it just didn’t hit the spot. We aren’t complaining in anyway as the stay was brilliant just thought the finished food could have been way better. That would have really topped off a brilliant few days away
Wonderful position
Breakfasts were debatable- slightly overcooked and dry
Location was lovely.
Shower was weak. Breakfast was average. Double bed was two single beds.
Absolutely stunning location. The whole experience from the stay, spa and treatments to the Asian restaurant were all fabulous.
Room was a little warm, however the weather was extremely warm.
Excellent location with great dining and very nice and helpfull staff. We enjoyed lake view room.
Everything
Nothing
Absolutely stunning the whole experience from the stay out spa time and the Asian restaurant , you will never be disappointed in a night here
The room was a little hot but that just being a little picky
Nothing from getting there the staff where disrespectful
Nothing
I booked a "hotel and spa" but had to pay extra for the spa. So it's only the hotel you book not the spa. False advertising.
Nice place
Staff exceptional meals lovely
having to change room to get better view
Beautiful property and idyllic location.
Inside bedroom, food, and location all excellent
Awful view from bedroom, could have been a factory! Just a roof and very noisy 'fan' from kitchen I assume. Couldn't leave window open over night.not told at time of booking and charged full rate for the pleasure. Surprised at £45.00 per person to use pool on top of room rate.
Everything. Location, Rooms, food, Staff
Great place, small room.
Room tiny, no view.
Great location
No downsides
Mostly the decor and ambience.
Room was too warm. Service in the dining room was slow until one young lady took the problem in hand.
The location is stunning.
No air con in the rooms which meant we didn’t stay at all. We drove home after a wedding at 2am as the room was far too hot to stay in. Despite not touching the room a full refund was declined.
Absolutely love the spa here at Ladore Falls it is exceptional. The hotel lobby is absolutely beautiful and the interior is lovely.
I think it could move more to modern times on the likes of the breakfast menu. Especially at breakfast to include ice latte’s etc. As much as the hotel is lovely the interior in the bedrooms could be better and the cleanliness within the room.
Staff are great, location is great. Well worth the visit
Immaculate throughout
Excellent communication Quality food Comfortable bed
Expected more for the cost - definitely overpriced Moths in the restaurant was not great Milk out of date when ordering a latte at the bar
Location and breakfast
Having no fridge in the room
Very scenic
Spa is only 2 hours max and can't be used as part of your stay. The rooms need aircon they are boiling!
Location amazing. Dog friendly. Food was brilliant.
Lovely area to sit and eat with dogs but did smell a bit doggy! Needed little freshening.
Location and facilities superb

Beautiful place and views
No air-conditioning No fridge Spa not include despite paying £330 for 1 night Bar too expensive
The location is stunning
The car park
Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Lekker eten.
Kamer was te lawaaierig omwille van airco’s in de buurt.
Amazing location and views ,very clean and comfortable ,food was so nice ,staff are very helpful and the spa was so nice and peaceful will be booking again
Nothing I couldn’t fault it
Location & mizu restirant
Overpriced & breakfast poor
Lovely Breakfast and staff very helpful.
Lovely hotel, staff, cleanliness- spa was a highlight.
Nothing
Fantastic location. Beautiful lake view. Gardens kept beautifully. Cleanliness of hotel was good. Staff were professional, friendly and helpful. Spa staff were special....they presented as passionate about what they do . Lovely relaxing stay. The breakfast selection was great and beautifully cooked and presented.
My only dislike was the coffee. I found it too cold .
We loved the spa, the mizu restaurant was also unreal.
Dirty rooms, dead spiders and insects on the walls. Big black mark all over the walls. Skirting boards thick with dust. A really awful smell in the room. We requested some towels in our day of departure, they never arrived. I call again the women’s assured me she had sent someone up with them. We had to leave without showering as we was without towels.
Luxurious, exceptionally friendly, excellent food. A really cosy hotel to hang out on those damp days but equally lovely on bright sunny days
A little out from anywhere
The bar, both restaurants and spa all very modern and smart. The food was very good in Mizu as was breakfast.
We were allocated an old, noisy room which hadn’t been refurbished yet despite it being a special wedding anniversary. Which was very disappointing. The squeaky bathroom door, being next to what sounded like a generator disturbed us throughout the night then the bin men came at 06:45 right next to our room so all we could hear was the truck reversing warning for ages. So we ended up getting up much earlier than planned. I can’t help thinking we weren’t given a refurbished room because we didn’t book direct?
Location
Room looked at a roof
Views, location, spa
Poor value for money had to pay extra for spa
The location, nicely decorated. We loved the spa with the outdoor pool area overlooking the lake and hills
Nothing
Location comfort and facilities were great
Only one very small lift. Very inadequate and almost impossible to negotiate as the Hotel was busy. A very big minus and would be the only reason I would not recommend the Hotel. A definite game changer
Lovely place and nice staff
Loved it
The hotel is very nice and tidy and the breakfast is very good can’t comment on food as we ate out
Paid £20 short of £600 for a Mountain View got a dirty roof view with a extractor fan running 24/7 room too hot no a/c had a fan in the room but very noisy did not sleep for two nights no fridge and no slippers and dressing grown for the females
