Good breakfast, pleasant staff.
Room was very tired, beds were awful, bathroom was a joke with hot water coming out of both taps, minute shower with very low water pressure. Extremely hot and uncomfortable room.
Did not have breakfast. The hotel is old and in need of redecorating. However, I was only there two nights, my room was clean, of a reasonable size, there was a lift to the 2nd floor which was handy and for £2.50 I was able to park outside for the day with a permit from the hotel. Parking meters abound and it's very expensive but there is free parking a street or two away.
Bathroom could do with a bit of titivating but it was clean and all worked OK. That is not a complaint, just an observation.
Nothing
Faulty towers
Very good position for the theatres, restaurants & the seafront. Clean, comfortable & good facilities. Parking permits available from reception.
Location
Condition, rooms, facilities, generally tired and run down
Great location, friendly staff

Lokatie en price.
Badkamer en kamer ventilator nooit schoongemaakt. Geen nacht kastjes en een koelkast zou mooi zijn. Deursluiting niet in orde.
Close to Congress Theatre which we were seeing a show, close to restaurant Flavos which is very good.
My room was 107 and had ac unit or whatever view from window. Quite when I arrived at 4pm but 6.30 in morning it started up and woke me not sure what it was because no ac in bedrooms but I would not recommend staying in that room,
Central location, great friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend!
No hot meals available for dinner. Also I found it stressful that I couldn’t let my dog to relieve herself after 12pm but otherwise no complaints.
Ease of location
Nothing
Comfort and cleanliness
Water pressure weak in shower
Good Location
We had an electric fan in the room with broken stands. Requested a new one but did not do anything at all with our request.
room was small with no view
We were walking the South Downs Way and found this location perfect for the end of the walk. And only 10 min walk into lively area of town and the station etc. Breakfast was superb.
Lage sehr gut Ordentliches Zimmer
Aufzug klemmte Älteres, ziemlich verwinkeltes Hotel Sehr schlichtes Frühstück
Close to the seafront and restaurants in Carlisle Road.
Shower screen was broken and looked like that had been the case for some time. As a consequence I spilled some water on the floor which I used a bathmat to mop up. I was very disappointed to find that the white mat was then filthy. The floor had obviously not been cleaned for some time. I did not enjoy being woken up early by the noisy kitchen ventilation system mounted on the wall outside. Breakfast was OK if you like a cooked breakfast otherwise the choice was limited to cereals, toast, yoghurt pots and a dozen apples. A tired hotel. Litter around the entrance.
Location to the theatre very good
Breakfast poor
Location
Cobwebs, dirty walls, no fan and only a small window. Stairs to the lift, stair lift that dosent work. No good for a wheelchair user.

Location was ideal, staff are polite and efficient.
We had one of the more refurbished rooms, very comfortable but was on the top floor ,more stairs when you got out of the lift not easy with a large suitcase.
Location was ideal as it was central to all amenities.
Was a bit dated, the bedding wasn’t the greatest. Had to report maintenance issues that should have been completed before guest arrival but were dealt with promptly. Rooms need to be deep cleaned, as I was bitten quite badly.
It was in a good location
Parking was difficult as only on street parking
Location was good and the bed was comfy
Bathroom was not very clean, fan was covered in thick layers of dust, shower pipe was split. Attention to detail during cleaning was very poor. Windows had no blinds or net curtains so privacy was poor unless you closed the curtains which didn't fit the window very well and let light in all round the edge Breakfast was poor staff not really knowing what they were doing as same questions being asked by different staff. Full English was small, obviously had lots already prepped and under hot lamps as most had become crusty or overcooked. No air conditioning although a fan was in the room but just circulated the warm air. Only 1 window opened but being on 2nd floor expected to only open a small bit but no it opened all the way in even though this was a family room. Whole hotel is in dire need of updating. This was not worth the £234 paid for the night although this was probably inflated as it was the weekend of the Air Show
Location & proximity to the seafront. We were given bottles of water when we checked out. As we were in a heatwave, these were gratefully received & we thought it was a nice touch.
Bathroom was a bit tired & a bit small. Hubby is a larger person, so shower cubicle was a bit tight for him. The fan in our room was also very dusty. The rest of the room was OK.
Great location and very clean with comfortable bed.
Disabled wife and I put on third floor, tiny lift did not go whole way so she had to negotiate a small staircase. No evacuation procedures in place, no reference to fire exits, no information sheets in room. Breakfast not great quality. Lovely hotel but H and S must be addressed, have impression it could be great if staff well-trained and issues afore mentioned addressed.
Always warm and welcomed
Nothing
Close to where I needed to be
It was very dated and hot!
Bel emplacement. Personnel disponible.
Un peu de bruit entre étages.
Excellent good choice even fresh fruit
On booking.com said there was a restaurant for evening meal and there wasn’t one & room we thought we booked had a walk in shower
Great location
Staff weren’t terrible but could have had more enthusiasm for there guest.
Adequate and well placed for the Theatres.
Room basic but ok, situated at the back and with window open, noisy from an early hour with the fans clearly audible in the room. Impossible to get shampoo and body wash out of the dispensers in the shower, towels very small.
Very clean and beautiful
Maybe some fans in the rooms
Very central rooms very nice
Nothing
The bed was comfortable
Too hot. No air conditioning, electric fan had been repaired but broke on second night. Had to get toilet fixed as didn't flush. Shower very noisy.
Very good location
Tired decor Room not fully cleaned - rubbish from previous occupant in bedside drawer
Friendly and helpful - the room was dated but comfortable and for the money paid happy to accept this. It's not the Ritz's, but for me on a low budget would visit again.
Location was only 10 minutes away from bus and train station. Lovely walk along Eastbourne sea front.
Shower needed a deep clean. Staff not very welcoming, need a little customer/hotelier training.
The location was perfect—just a 2–3 minute walk from the tennis courts. There are also several nice restaurants, cafés, and a pub nearby. We were able to park our car with the permission of a permit holder, and the hotel was very helpful in arranging this.
It was an exceptionally hot day, and the room felt like a sauna. Unfortunately, there wasn't a fan available, so we struggled to sleep. We understand that the high temperatures were unusual, but it would have been greatly appreciated if the hotel had provided fans for exceptionally hot days like this.
Location
Bit dated
Lovely staff, lovely room, good breakfast, close to beach and theatre
The shower could have done with being pumped as pressure was poor
Breakfast was excellent the first time in a number of years in Eastbourne staying in a hotel that actually served breakfast The location was good being just a few hundred yards from the event I was attending at the tennis centre.
The receptionist was friendly on arrival. The hotel was close to the beach and the bed was comfy.
The lift wasn’t working and there was a smell of vomit in the ground floor corridor- not great in 35 degrees. The cooked breakfast was dried up when it arrived to our table.
I had very comfortable stay at New Wilmington Hotel. I would especially like to give a credit to (Manager) Wajiha for making experience even better..she is very kind hearted, professional and always ready to help with a smile. Her exceptional hospitality truly stood out during my stay. I can confidently say that she is one of the hotel greatest assest. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable. I highly recommended to all.
Nothing
Lovely clean bedroom refurbished to a high standard Great location near the pier. Freshly cooked breakfast to order. Lift available.
Room was advertised as including a bath, coffee maker and chocolate. This wasn't the case. The listing needs updating. I did mention this to them. Some fruit available at breakfast would have been excellent.
Location
No English staff.
Fantastic location right next to the beach, with everything you need within easy reach. The room was nicely decorated with the large, comfortable bed.
The only downside of our stay was the bathroom. The shower pressure was very poor, making it difficult to have a proper shower. The bathroom could also benefit from refurbishment, as the fittings and taps are quite outdated. It was very difficult to adjust the water temperature. It was either too hot or too cold.
Great location
Nothing
Comfortable, clean, non intrusive. Everything was excellent.

Location great for the theatre Bed comfortable Good to have a bath and shower in en-suite
Breakfast basic but okay…sausage not very nice. Room was very hot due to weather, but they did provide a fan View from room 338 not pleasant…back of flats Decor a bit old fashioned and not much matches
Breakfast was good.
Nothing
Huoneen siivouksesta ja rauhallisuudesta. Mukava hyvä sänky, jossa sain hyvä unta. Liinavaatteet olivat puhtaita.Ystävällinen henkiökunnat.
Aamiaispöydälle olisin toivonut enemmän valikoimia. Tarjoilun järjestely ehkä ei ollut paras mahdollinen.
Location
No sir on
Nice staff, very comfortable beds and good breakfast.
No air con or fridge in rooms. Also no cold water at morning and very very wick water pressure in shower...but at least we have got a bath.
Breakfast was average but service a bit chaotic , location was excellent for the tennis . Cleaner was good . Room was a very good size
I often couldn’t get water from the shower . I might have to wait a while to get any . Staff said it hadn’t happened before but other people also complained . I was top floor and obviously not enough pressure for the shower . No water at all for a bath . It was dealt with very poorly with staff . Probably because they couldn’t solve it Remote not working on television . Again not dealt with well . We had to ask for a fan in the extreme heat . It was not offered
Location perfect for tennis at Devonshire Park. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel so cannot review that. The room was excellent, plenty of power sockets, very clean, the bathroom was in excellent order with a full size bath/shower.
We have no negative comments
The location of the hotel was a huge surprise as it is so close yo the tennis centre and also close to the beach and within an easy walk to the shops. The staff were all really friendly and helpfull. My room, to which i had received an upgrade to a double, was clean and comfortable. Thankyou. See you again next year.
I cannot think of any negetives for this hotel...
Great location and a good breakfast
Room was extremely hot, during the record high temperatures, it was unbearable and very difficult to sleep. Breakfast room had a huge air-con unit that was never switched on.
Nothing comes to mind
Room very small and hot. Decore tired. More guest house than hotel.
The only thing this hotel has is its location, almost across the road from the venue we were visiting. So it was great for that.
The hotel was dated, there were pieces of furniture broken in our room. The room was extremely hot and there was no fans or air conditioning. Breakfast was very average.
The New Wilmington was a lovely hotel to stay in. I was particularly impressed with the comfort of the room, the friendliness of staff especially the lady on reception (Wijerama) - apologies for misspelling. The decor is slightly dated but it did not bother me. The location was excellent and close to amenities and the beach.
The beverage selection could have been more varied. Some complimentary bottled water would have been welcomed.
Location was excellent for the tennis. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Room was small, could have been cleaner.
Convenient location, good value for money.
Nothing
Had very poor experience. Shabby and noisy. Facilities not great.
The permit system for parking is excellent. Provided you can get a space for on road parking (which we did for the three nights we were there) it’s £2.50 for 24 hours. Just ask the hotel reception to issue you a permit.
Very good location to sea front and also tennis - which is why we booked. Staff were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Parking permit available for £2.50 a day which was brilliant and there was parking just outside the hotel. Rooms were a good size and met our needs. Breakfast included, which was lovely and prompt and attentive service.
I don’t have any complaints or dislikes.
Very well situated, room very spacious and bed very comfortable. Hotel staff very friendly. Nice that you could buy a parking permit at a very reasonable price and park outside the hotel or if not in the same road, very nearby.
The breakfast was quite basic, not much choice of cereals or fruit.
The staff where excellent
No air con and had no fans, my room was 34 degrees overnight
It was an extremely fair price and a nice location
It’s very tired and the rooms are small , walls thin But for the price it’s a bargain It was very clean and the staff were helpful I found the bed a bit uncomfortable but I need a memory foam mattress and so to be fair the mattress was better than a lot of hotels
Great breakfast, even given a cadburys crème egg on the Sunday hidden under our cup. Comfortable bed. Hot shower. Efficient, friendly, unintrusive. Excellent value and booking terms. Also able to get a voucher for parking for £2.50 that covers 24 hours.
Clean, tidy, very good service.
Very convenient to the town and the beach and tennis tournaments. The staff were friendly. The breakfast which was (included) was also good. It was really good value for the price
The room was clean but tired in its decor
Great location and comfortable room
A little more power on the shower.
Comfortable bed. Very clean. Good size room. Great location.
Very hot. Inadequate curtain/blind cover. Woken at 5am by sunrise. No decaffeinated coffee available in rooms.
This hotel beat every preconception I had about this hotel. Years back - I ahve to be honest - it didn't look in a great shape and was a bit skeptical, but hey; if they haven't turned it around! Extremely surprised by the warm welcome at reception, essential bar with a selection of drinks, and the breakfast was just spot on. Let alone the room, which was an absolute delight to be in. Granted; we came at the beginning of a heat wave (make sure to ask for a fan in your room!) and the room felt very warm. Ours was room 221 - deluxe double room - and I guarantee you; you won't be disappointed. If you are a fan of bath tubs please do ask/request in advance, as there are not many rooms available with it in. This is a very good budget hotel, extremely well located, for short-term stay, if you were thinking of going for the tennis/theatre/concerts.
Again, as I said above, it had had not a good reputation in the past and I have to admit that for what the new management did they have fixed most of the tired decor and replaced with lovely designs and patterns throughout. However, if there is the one thing that perhaps I have to fault is possibly my part of the bed - left - felt quite well slept and I could feel the springs. In fairness, let us remind you that I am also 23st, and I can assure you that if you didn't weigh that much, the bed is an absolute joy to sleep in. I wouldn't call this a luxury hotel - hence my 9/10 - but it is surely one of the best budget hotels I have been in the area. Do not judge the book by its cover, let me tell you.
La ubicación
La habitación era como un horno, no se podía abrir la ventana. La ropa de cama era para invierno, estando en verano fue muy difícil dormir.
