Provider-sourced guest reviews.
the room was spacious and the views were lovely. the elevators were very slow. the location was great. the staff was great. the restaurant-bar was very nice.
some things were not so great: the usb-socket did not work. the water went down very slowly in the sink.
Well located and staff very courteous and helpful
Room small/ some features of the room clunky
Roof top
The rooms were not functional for more than one person or if you brought luggage. No place to place luggage. Only one person could fit in the bathroom at a time. The closet was microscopic and could not fit anything longer than a jacket. Phone reception was horrible. At the time we were there there was a ton of maintenance going on and we were asked to keep our shades down, and people were knocking on the door at 9 AM to repair the air conditioner. And all of that is for $500 a night.
Amazing location in the heart of Williamsburg, surrounded by great cafés, bars and restaurants. The hotel is modern, stylish and clean. We had a balcony with an incredible Manhattan skyline view. The rooftop is a highlight, and we loved the little extras like City Bike passes, free luggage storage and activities such as rooftop yoga.
The shower kept leaking onto the bathroom floor. It didn’t seem broken, but rather poorly designed. Some parts of the bathroom layout also felt a little impractical. The rooftop can get quite loud due to parties until around midnight, but this didn’t bother us too much.
Dobra lokalizacja , Basen i Party z Dj na dachu do 22:00
Małe pokoje i problem z parkingiem.
The rooms are TINY! The bathroom was the smallest hotel bathroom I’ve ever encountered. The sink could not fit any of my personal amenities.
Location, pool, friendly staff (except the waiter at the breakfast)
Elevator broken down and when working still long waits, also because of all the non guests visiting the rooftop party’s. Breakfast includes coffee but not a cappuccino, will be charged extra. Price of breakfast doesn’t value what you get in return, food very salty. Carpet in hall rundown and dirty. Hotel besides down stairs area really needs attention
Nice activities, a lot of things to do inside and outside.
The service took longer than expected sometimes. If I would request something to be brought up to my room it would take from an hour to three hours. It’s okay cause everyone was still friendly and I still got what I requested every time, however, usually such services are quicker.
Renting city view room, there is no view, you can only see next door ugly rooftop, I try to change the room but unfortunately not happening 😢
Emplacement top
I loved the fact when I first arrived I was greeted at the door with a smile and directed me on were to check in at also I love my room when I checked in I was told I got upgraded to a room with a balcony which was a delight I fell in love with the bathroom beautiful the tub was my favorite part about it I was able to enjoy a nice soak before I left
What I didn’t like all the elevators were extremely hot considering it was warm outside I also didn’t like that they didn’t have any microwaves on the floors or property to warm my food after a long travel and they only had mini fridge stock with there supplies so I was not able to keep my water cold that I came with other that it was a great experience
Nessun servizio di hotellerie all’altezza. Sconsigliabile
It was clean
Rooms were extremely tiny, closet wasn’t functional at all
I wanna start off with my check-in experience with Paul. He was very humble very respectful. Gave me a very welcoming check in experience. Got me in an hour early really took care of me so thank you Paul. I really appreciate you, You set the tone for this stay. Thank you so much. The rest of the staff was very helpful very accommodating. I have zero complaints about Arlo and I will be back. -Jannio Cuevas.
Beautiful views Well furnished, clean room with good facilities Comfortable bed Perfect location
There was a teenage party going on on the rooftop every night, so the hotel was full of teenagers after hours. The bar downstairs was fairly messy, it seemed like there were not enough staff there to help both guests and visitors who weren’t staying.
The hotel is beautiful! And you cannot beat the view from the balcony. It was a perfect location for where we needed to be / visit so it was also quite convenient. For being a NY hotel, the rooms are spaced out well even though they are compact. It was the perfect set up.
Nothing negative to say
Location is great
For the price the hotel and room felt dingy, like it hasn’t been well maintained. Also, our AC broke both nights we stayed there, and as a 7 month pregnant person that was not fun or remotely comfortable. We informed the staff the first morning, and they sent engineering to fix it, but the same thing happened the next night. By the front desk’s reaction, I would guess this is a common issue at the hotel. Also the hotel had a roof party on Thursday night, which is fine and fun! But then there were so many drunk people screaming and singing in the fire stairwell after the party… I am very glad I was staying on the opposite end of the floor. Not sure how the folks close to the stairwell were able to sleep.
It's a cool vibe to the area
Loud music until past 12am, and then DJ all day Sunday. Not a hotel to go to if you want sleep.
Decent comfy bed
Staff are rude and not particularly helpful
My AC was not working
We visited NYC from the UK. We attended the RIVA Sunset event at Arlo Williamsburg with high expectations. The rooftop itself is stunning, with incredible views over the Manhattan skyline, but unfortunately the service completely overshadowed the experience. We arrived promptly for the 5:00 pm start, only to discover that there was virtually nowhere to sit unless you paid even more for a reserved table. Considering the high ticket price (around $150 for two people), it’s unreasonable that general admission guests are effectively left standing with no seating available. The bar experience was equally disappointing. We ordered two small margaritas at $20 each, and the payment terminal automatically selected a 20% tip. When we changed the tip amount ourselves, the bartender became visibly annoyed and abruptly snatched the card terminal from our hands. It was unprofessional and made us feel very uncomfortable. To be honest, after that interaction I wanted to leave immediately, but having already spent so much on admission we felt we had little choice but to stay. It’s such a shame because the venue and the views are genuinely spectacular. With friendly, customer-focused staff this could be an excellent experience. Unfortunately, the service fell well below expectations and let the whole event down.
Excellent staff, extremely accommodating Great location Rooms lack some basic amenities
Loistava sijainti, parveke aivan extraplussa, siisti huone, hyvä sänky.
The views were amazing and the hotel's aesthetic was cute.
Though the front desk staff were nice and professional, the rest of the staff was not. Two of the three elevators were out of service and rather than have a sign explaining that they were out of order, guests had to seek out staff to find out. The door staff were rude. The lobby staff were more interested in watching the World Cup final on the big screen TV than attending to guests. The elevator operator was rude and didn't do a great job (we waiting ten minutes for the elevator because twice he neglected to go to the front desk level). The rooms were nice but some fixtures needed repair or updating. Overall the experience was disappointing because the staff made no effort to make you feel welcome and were not communicative about the elevator situation.
Amazing experience! Nathaniel was attentive and super helpful. I will definitely come back to stay here whenever I’m in NYC.
location
party hotel, noisy, smelly
Great staff. Great location. Great property.
Nothing
The location was spectacular. The view was amazing. Coming back from our stuff in the evening and stepping out to see the New York City skyline was an incredible moment. From checking to check out, it was a seamless and lovely experience. The staff was very kind warm and helpful. My favorite part of the trip was the ice latte that I had in the morning aside from the lovely barista who made it. it was one of the most delicious coffees I’ve ever had. I grew up in New York and I did not feel like I was in New York City at all great food all around the area too. I’m already planning my next vacation back.
I wish they would handle parking.
I loved the location- close to the train and there are many cool restaurants and shops close by.
I wish the bed in our room was a little bigger- a double bed is small for us.
Great location, great view rooftop. A bit small room but full equipments
Restaurant and common spaces are well designed and comfortable
Great location clean facilities nice front row staff
Rooms are extremely small and the Dj at the pool played only one type of music no mix
Do not stay at this hotel when you go to NY. Choose another place to stay. For the price it is definitely not worth it. Rooms are small, nothing worked in the hotel, the shower door didn’t even close, so the bathroom floor was soaked after each time we took shower, the outlets in the gym didn’t work, the drinks at the bar were hella weak, my wife and a friend had to go back and get more alcohol to put into the drinks that were made. We had wait on our room to get ready when we got there and the staff never let us know our room was ready, overall it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a hotel stay.
Pros ; Close to everything we wanted. Club. Brunch. Bars.
Cons; Small bed and facilities. No ice bucket in room stunk. Staff was talking about guests who called the front desk with issues while other guests were standing there which was unnecessary. Got a table at sungold to eat and drink but service was slow and never brought us water. We got a dirty martini with no olives ? They also told us we have to leave by 5 for an event. Odd !
Good location and comfortable room
Constant use of lifts by party goers on the roof Extremely loud music by the pool from 3pm Have to book sun bed even if you are a guest - lots sat empty even when “booked” Chargers / switches broken in the room V dirty windows!
location was great - staff was great, and the pool was an added bonus
The rooms are small as you would expect in NY. Would be nice is there was more shelving in the bathroom to store toiletries and a place to store luggage. The bed was slightly too low to slide the suitcase under, and there wasn't a luggage stand or really any place for an open suitcase.
Caesar made a great custom drink for me at the lobby bar. Super friendly service!
Cesar at the Sungold bar / restaurant in the Arlo Williamsburg was so sweet and amazing! Made the best coffee and love the vibe! :)
The vibes , aesthetic, cleanliness, and my fav was the pool
Location, pool was nice when we could get a spot
Pool was never available, elevators always broken to prioritize the guests going to the rooftop, AC wouldn't work for Saturday afternoon
Great rooms, super comfortable. When the cafe and restaurant is good, it’s good.
Felt like we were second class citizens….1. went to the pool at 10am after it opened, lots of loungers free. Lady said everything was booked and we couldn’t use the loungers or any seating around the pool. I said would have been nice to tell us at check in we had to book to use the pool, she said “they’re a different organisation” and just fobbed us off. 2. When leaving on a Saturday afternoon big queues outside and snaking inside for rooftop bar. We wanted to take elevator to go from lobby to ground floor to leave with our bags. Took 10mins waiting for elevator that never came, it was just us and a massive queue beside us behind ropes. Security was busy shouting at the line. No one cared about us. Eventually had to lug bags up stairs because uber had arrived. It was my second stay but I won’t be back if I’m staying over a weekend.
Location was great and the rooms were comfortable
It’s a noisy and party-centric hotel so don’t stay here if you’re looking for peace and quiet
nice location, nice room, and great staff
really loud and hard to sleep
Rooms could use some clean up and/or renovations.
Loved the location! And BENI was an amazing front desk rep!
Elevators were slow… and the wind blowing during the nights kept me up.
Easy to walk to cute coffee shops and the ferry.
The shampoo holder was broken. Only thing.
Location is amazing, friendly staff and reasonable sized rooms
The restaurant was terrible- burnt pizza!
Clean and welcoming.
Room was smaller than I thought.
Beautiful hotel, great area.
I had such a blast! MINUS the $35 cover for females. like talk about dying club culture. should have at least been discounted because we are the party. Also drinks were cray $$$$
I booked this hotel through Hotels Tonight and unfortunately my reservation could not be located upon arrival. I understand third party bookings can sometimes create issues, but that should never affect how a guest is treated. Standing in the pouring rain, I was met with John who provided no guidance, no explanation about refunds and no effort to suggest alternative accommodations nearby. Surprising, since he stated he was the manager. Hospitality starts at the front desk, and in this case I was made to feel like a nuisance rather than a guest. Extremely disappointing experience .
All
Great location Nice bar area Shower is very nice
The bed was quite small and not very comfortable The bed was very squeaky You can hear some noise from the bar at night
Bon emplacement, chambre spacieuse
Location is amazing with great river views.
The hotel prioritizes events over guests. I came for a half marathon and they scheduled a 7 HOUR rave the night of the race. It was so loud my ceiling vibrated. I left the hotel for a little quiet and could hear it two blocks away. It was like noise torture. It took twenty minutes just to get to my room because they dedicated elevator traffic for party go-ers. Drunk people were getting off on guest floors and wandering around. A belligerent girl almost knocked me over falling into me, so drunk she couldn’t walk. No security or elevator oversight to manage this. Absolute nightmare.
Location is good
Elevators are a nightmare. You wait so long each ride and if you want to use stairs instead all of those staircases seemingly take you through staff areas. Lobby check in staff quite rude as well.
This is a stylish modern hotel in a hip neighborhood with a lot going on. Overall we had a good experience. The staff was courteous and friendly. The rooms were small and although they were very nice and clean and well organized there was nowhere to put anything down. The minibar took up the only counter space and I couldn’t put anything in the fridge. There was no way to make tea but I could purchase it at the bar for $4. Luckily the room comes with a white noise machine. We needed it, so that was a nice touch. The pulsating music stopped about 1:30am. The lighting was dim - perfect if you are hungover, but hard to see to put on makeup. They do allow dogs, which is one reason I picked it. Hopefully my dog didn’t get a contact high from the cannabis smell coming from the next room. She was very chill (the dog) the whole time we were there.
The property was amazing and so was the view. Only about a 15min drive to the Hunters Point Ferry
Nothing
Localização no bairro, visual do quarto a partir da varanda.
Nada.
The staff and the location.
Don’t love that there is no bathroom door. Not a privacy issue, but a temperature issue. I would just be really cold when getting out of the shower.
Great location, compact but well proportioned rooms, super friendly staff, amazing city views from the rooftop.
Citi bike pass is a great benefit but only applies to classic bikes, not electric, which isn’t great for the location, especially if you want to cycle over Williamsburg Bridge to Manhattan.
Great williamsburg location with a good view of the city.
Noisy, lots of parties nearby (and in the hotel itself). Bed not super comfortable. Balconies aren’t private, you are basically sitting with your neighbor.
Arlo Williamsburg was excellent! The staff were all friendly and the mini bar selection was perfect. The fitness center was well equipped and it was very convenient as a starting place to travel around NYC. The balconies have a great view of the skyline
Stunning views of Manhattan skyline. Beautiful decor, lovely staff and fab DJs. Absolutely loved our stay. Thanks Arlo Williamsburg!
Location
the price feels a bit high for the value offered
Hotel stupendo, posizione vicino a tantissimi locali
Niente
The location was very good. The staff was nice
Room service was so so. One day they didn’t give the service until 4pm. Another day they forgot to leave the waters
The staff went above and beyond to ensure that I had an exceptional experience. One of the best managed hotels I've ever stayed in.
Rooms are small but cozy, hotel has a cute aesthetic, and the Sunrise restaurant downstairs has reasonable prices, with 15% off if you’re staying in the hotel. Gym is well equipped. Staff is friendly - they hold your bags if you arrive earlier than the check in time, early check in fee was $80. Located a short walk from the train station in Williamsburg downtown, with plenty of food and activity options in the area. The area is very vibrant at night, and feels safe for the most part. Acoustics are very bad. I was staying in a room facing the skyline, and one night the wind was so strong that there was a very loud whistling noise since the balcony sliding door didn’t latch and wasn’t airtight. I had to leave the door open a little bit to stop the howling, and then I heard people talking outside, a loud sire. and whatnot- something that you really don’t want after a full long day. Also, the bathroom in the room didn’t have a shower curtain, so when one showers, the whole bathroom gets wet, it’s pretty without strong utility. Overall I would recommend this stay, but perhaps for summer months.
